Chapter 1
On the way to take my son to school, I was dragged into an alley by dozens of burly men.
After enduring hours of torment worse than death, my intestines ruptured and my anus was torn. The doctor cruelly declared that I would have to wear a colostomy bag for life.
My wife, undeterred, tearfully vowed to stay by my side and take care of me for the rest of my life.
But, outside the intensive care unit, my son’s confused voice struck me like a heavy blow.
"Mom, our goal was just to transplant Dad’s organ to my biological father. But why did you have those men torture him like that?"
My wife sighed. "If we don’t completely cripple him, what if he finds out the truth and goes after your real dad?"
I clenched my fists, tears silently streaming down my face.
It turned out that my son wasn’t even mine. They had even taken away my ability to have children, just to give it to that bastard.
After discovering the truth, I made the decision to sever all ties with my wife and son.
——
As soon as the ICU door was pushed open, my wife and son rushed to my bedside.
Kelly’s eyes were brimming with tears. “Honey, you… you have to stay strong. Our son and I will always be by your side.”
My son’s young voice trembled. “Dad, Mom and I will take care of you for the rest of your life.”
Their acting was impeccable. It’s a shame they weren’t in show business.
I slowly moved my eyes, weakly staring at my son’s tear-streaked face.
His eyes didn’t resemble mine. His nose didn’t either. Not a single feature looked like me.
If I hadn’t overheard their conversation just now, I might have remained in the dark for the rest of my life.
Thinking about how I had been made a fool for so many years, my hands clenched tightly onto the bedsheet. My lips trembled, but I couldn’t utter a single word.
At that moment, the door swung open and our high school bully, Matthew Bill, walked in.
I remembered my wife once telling me that Matthew had relentlessly pursued her back in the day. She had said they were young and foolish and had a brief history together.
He walked in carrying a large bouquet of fresh flowers, his expression filled with regret and exhaustion.
“Davis, it’s been years… I never thought our reunion would be under such heartbreaking circumstances.”
His familiar features were exactly like my son’s. What else was there left to doubt?
This man was my son’s real father.
Now, I had become something neither human nor ghost, while he stood there, full of life and confidence, bringing a bouquet of flowers to visit me.
Staring at his lower body, I gritted my teeth. Wasn’t everything I had suffered because of him?
Kelly naturally took the flowers from Matthew’s hands and placed them beside me, completely forgetting that I was severely allergic to pollen.
I wanted to tell them to take the flowers away, but the words that came out of my mouth sounded like the wheezing of a broken bellows.
Matthew misunderstood my struggle. “Davis, are you thirsty?”
He picked up a cup of water and gently brought it to my lips.
Then, as if by accident, his hand tilted, spilling the entire cup of boiling water onto my battered body.
The scalding heat made me cry out in pain.
Kelly panicked and grabbed a towel to wipe me down, but in her frantic efforts, she rubbed my already swollen skin raw, making it bleed.
She was on the verge of tears.
"Honey, I’m sorry… I… I don’t know why I’m so clumsy!"
My son also cried out anxiously, "Dad, are you okay?"
Watching the three of them put on this act, I mustered all my strength, desperately trying to shout “Get out!”
But just at that moment, I felt a sudden wetness beneath me.
A sickening stench instantly filled the entire hospital room.
It was then that I remembered—the doctor had already cruelly declared that I would have to wear a colostomy bag for the rest of my life.
The three of them instinctively covered their noses, their brows furrowing.
"Honey, if you needed to use the restroom, why didn’t you tell me?"
Her concerned tone carried a hint of reproach, but I didn’t miss the barely perceptible disgust in her eyes.
Anger, humiliation and frustration raged inside me, but I had nowhere to release them.
Chapter 2
When the caregiver came to clean me up, Matthew showed no intention of stepping out. Instead, he casually sat nearby, scrolling through his phone as if nothing was happening.
Then, in an offhand manner, he said, “Davis, I heard from the doctor that a large part of your rectum was removed. That must be tough, huh? But what’s even worse is losing your manhood. Don’t let it get to you, though. At least you already have a son.”
At this moment, Matthew must have been feeling quite triumphant.
After all, I had unknowingly raised his son for so many years. And on top of that, I had even “donated” a part of myself to him.
Too bad for him, he was celebrating too soon.
The moment the three of them walked out, I struggled to signal the nurse. “Help me make a call.”
"Hello, Dad? I’ve made up my mind. I’m coming home to inherit the family business!"
I was originally the heir to a top-tier, reclusive global family.
Back then, I hid my identity and fell in love with Kelly.
Later, I even gave up my inheritance willingly to marry her, choosing to live an ordinary life.
But now, I realized that this woman was never worth it.
Over the years, our vast family influence had been primarily based overseas.
In a month, once my father finished consolidating our family’s resources, he would return to hand everything over to me.
I would make sure that none of the people who had betrayed, deceived and hurt me got away easily.
That very night, I suffered a severe allergic reaction to the flowers, leading to dangerous suffocation.
As I was rushed into the emergency room, Kelly and my so-called son were nowhere to be found.
The doctor, his palms sweaty with urgency, frantically made several phone calls.
"If the family doesn’t sign for the surgery now, the patient will die!"
Fortunately, Kelly rushed in at the last second to sign the consent form.
After a life-or-death battle, I barely managed to survive.
Half-conscious, I overheard the doctor furiously scolding Kelly outside the ICU.
"As his wife, don’t you know he’s severely allergic to pollen? He’s already been through a terrible ordeal and now he had to fight for his life again because of negligence!"
My so-called son scoffed dismissively, "Well, he didn’t die, did he? Did he really have to interrupt our family dinner over this?"
Kelly sounded slightly impatient as well. "I was just trying not to turn down a visitor’s kind gesture. Besides, it’s just a pollen allergy and he could’ve just endured it. Why did I have to rush over to sign for surgery?"
Kelly was about to continue complaining, but my coughing interrupted her.
She and my so-called son anxiously pushed open the door, tears welling up in their eyes.
"Honey, it's my fault. I forgot about your pollen allergy."
My son put on a concerned face and spoke in a childish voice, "Daddy, are you still in pain? If you are, I’ll turn on the TV for you. Watching TV will make you forget the pain!"
Saying that, he pressed the remote.
Immediately, a serious news broadcast played:
"Recently, a man was assaulted by dozens of strong men while picking up his son from school. Citizens are advised to stay cautious when traveling outside…"
Kelly panicked, snatching the remote and hurriedly changing the channel.
"Davis, don't take it to heart. The image is blurred, no one knows it's you."
But the next scene showed a group of reporters gathered at the hospital entrance, live broadcasting.
Some unscrupulous media outlets are reporting: "We have now arrived at the hospital where the victim is. It is said that his rectum has necrotized and he is also incontinent. We will go take a look shortly!"
Kelly's face looked very bad and she held my hand tightly, comforting me, "I'll go downstairs right now and drive them all away!"
"Stop!"
As she turned around, I let out a cold laugh and said, "How could the media know so many details? They even found the hospital I’m at. This has caused such a big commotion and your involvement can’t be left out, can it?"
Chapter 3
"Kelly, are you happy now that I've become like this?"
Kelly stiffened, frozen in place. "Honey, what are you saying?"
"I’m saying that everything I’ve gone through was all orchestrated by you and Matthew. You two really went to great lengths to transplant my things to him."
Our son reacted quickly, angrily accusing, "Dad, even if you’ve become a cripple, you can't wrong people like this."
Looking at the face that didn’t resemble mine, spitting out cruel words, I gritted my teeth and said, "You don’t need to call me dad. Go find your real father, Matthew!"
For a moment, the entire atmosphere became terrifyingly still.
Kelly's face turned slightly pale and her lips trembled. "You're speaking nonsense due to illness. How can you say such a thing in front of a young child? I'll pretend I didn't hear anything today. I'll go stop those reporters outside!"
With that, she turned and ran toward the door.
I turned away, pretending to sleep. I was no longer looking at my son's pitiful face.
That day, I went to pick him up from school.
If he hadn't insisted on taking a more secluded path, those people would never have had the chance to attack me.
I did everything I could to shield him and told him to call the police.
But it wasn't until the next day that a passerby found me barely clinging to life and rushed me to the hospital.
I didn’t know how much time had passed when my hospital room door was violently flung open and a swarm of reporters barged in.
Kelly opened her mouth slightly, weakly positioning herself in front of me. "I'm sorry, I didn’t expect..."
I let out a mocking laugh and said, "You brought these reporters here on purpose, didn’t you?"
The reporters didn’t care about anything else. They only cared about the explosive news in front of them.
“Mr. Jones, is it true that you were assaulted?”
My son stood protectively in front of me, anxiously trying to explain, “You’re not allowed to say that about my dad! He got hurt that day while protecting me. Even if he lost his vital part, I’ll take care of him for the rest of his life!”
The moment he finished speaking, he immediately covered his mouth.
Hearing this, the reporters grew even more excited, like ravenous wolves with glowing green eyes, pressing forward aggressively. “What? He… lost that?”
“Mr. Jones, is what your son said true?”
One reporter went as far as to lunge at me, attempting to pull back my blanket for a closer look.
As soon as the blanket was lifted, a pungent stench filled the air, hitting everyone like a sledgehammer.
“He… he lost control of his bladder!”
In that moment, every gaze fixed on me carried nothing but disgust, sharp as blades piercing through me.
I wished I could disappear into the ground.
But the reporters broadcasted my most humiliating moment live, stripping away the last shred of my dignity as a man.
Within just a few hours, my story had exploded across every platform’s trending list.
The whole country now knew that I was a eunuch.
For several days in a row, my name and humiliating photos and videos have dominated the top trending searches.
Furious, I smashed everything within reach in the hospital room.
Faintly, I could hear the nurses whispering outside the door.
"He was a man losing that organ. No wonder he's become so moody and unpredictable."
"Let's try to be more understanding. After all, he's not even a man anymore."
Instinctively, I reached between my legs. It was empty.
My hand clenched into a fist in an instant. ‘Matthew, one day, I'll make you experience everything I’ve suffered.’
Gripping my phone tightly, I said, "Dad, can you come back to the country any sooner?"
"Son, just give me three more days. In three days, I'll be back to avenge you!"
Matthew came to see me again.
