Chapter 3
Would someone come to save me? But instead, eight security guards sprayed me with artificial rain. As the filthy liquid hit my face, endless humiliation seemed to seep through my skin, relentlessly shredding my dignity.
I was her son! How could she treat me like this? About Celine, we had known each other since elementary school and were inseparable all the way through high school.
We confirmed our relationship after the college entrance exam and haven’t fought since then. Celine was someone I could give my heart to.
Why would the two most important women in my life side with that freeloading man? Why did this happen?
My self-esteem felt shattered entirely and my emotional support seemed to be gone. For a moment, I even thought my life had no meaning.
In that dazed state, I remembered what my senior one said. She always advised me that someone deserved punishment if they made a mistake. But we should have lived well if we hadn’t done anything wrong.
Yeah, I hadn’t done anything wrong. Why were my mom and the other punishing me? Why should I punish myself, too?
“Don’t do that!”
William yelled, trying to tear at the security guards, but my mom and Celine quickly pulled him aside.
My mom’s expression was impassive, while Celine hid a smile. William, as usual, occasionally secretly gave me the middle finger.
My mom coldly asked, “Do you realize you were wrong now?”
I replied coldly, “The new project, the new building. They all have special meaning!”
“I know why he’s being so stubborn!”
“Why?”
“He’s the one who pushed and led the new project. He probably feels like it won’t go forward without him, so he’s being so stubborn.”
“That makes sense. He thinks he’s irreplaceable.”
Whispers arose, but these people were clearly not ordinary passersby. William likely arranged them. Sure enough, upon hearing this, my mom immediately sneered with contempt.
“Bertrand, I’m your mother, also the Chairwoman! Do you think you can use a project to control me?”
“Listen carefully, the new project and the new building have absolutely nothing to do with you from this moment on!”
My mom said coldly, “The new project and the new building are now entirely under Uncle William’s control! Anyone can do this project!”
“Agatha, you can’t do this!”
“Bertrand already has a problem with me. If I steal his project now, he’ll definitely hate me.”
“Even if I originally proposed this project in the first place, it’s already been stolen by Bertrand. Oh no, I gave it to him.”
“Anyway, we can’t let Bertrand suffer.”
William stayed firm, but his words made my mom explode again.
“What?”
“You proposed this project?”
“And then this ungrateful son stole it?” My mom was furious beyond words.
“I heard you, Bertrand, went to a top-tier university. What did you study there? Just how to steal projects?”
“No wonder Mr. Kennedy has been so gloomy lately because it turns out his project got stolen.”
“Yeah, that day by the river, I saw Mr. Kennedy almost jump in. I saved him.”
The crowd started gossiping again.
“What? William, you’ve thought about suicide?”
My mom was so heartbroken that she started crying.
William burst into tears too, but insisted firmly, “Don’t blame Bertrand. After all, I was the one who messed up first. I know loving you is a mistake.”
My mom cried as well. The whole crowd enjoyed their lovey-dovey drama.
Chapter 4
I had to admit, this guy really knew how to talk. I was impressed.
“Actually, I didn’t commit suicide that time.”
“Bertrand invited me to dinner. I thought he wanted to patch things up, so I went.”
“But I had no idea I’d get food poisoning after eating. I ended up pooping my pants in public. I felt too ashamed to live, so I wanted to kill myself. Oh wait, I meant I wanted to wash off in the river.”
William burst into tears. Then everyone else started to insult me.
My mom roared, “Bring some laxatives, hang someone down and give them to him!”
“It looks like our Mr. Chanton is going to be the first person to poop while standing upside down.”
“Quick, grab your phones! Start to live stream and make Mr. Chanton become famous.”
The whole crowd was excited. By then, two security guards had already tied a rope around their waist and one of them pulled out a bottle of laxative. It had clearly been planned by someone, because who carries laxatives when going out?
Celine didn’t forget to remind them. “Take off his pants and clothes! Don’t leave anything hidden!”
With a cold laugh, I asked, “Celine, am I being mean to you?”
Celine sneered, “Darling, it’s because you’ve been too good to me that I need to punish you to make you better.”
I pressed further. “So whatever William says, you believe it without verifying first?”
“How could Uncle William lie?”
Celine laughed. “He didn’t even mean to say it. It just slipped out.”
I asked again, “Slips of the tongue, one after another?”
Celine’s face turned cold and she ignored me completely.
Then my mom pointed at my face. “You still dare to try and drive a wedge between me and William. If you weren’t my son, I’d have killed you!”
“Just wait. Everything you’ve done to me will come back to you a hundredfold, a thousandfold, ten thousandfold.”
My tone was unusually flat, as if I couldn’t care about what would happen. Not long after, two security guards descended on safety ropes.
One security guard said, “You restrained him. I’ll force-feed him the medication!”
I smiled and said, “Go ahead. No need to bother. I’ll cooperate.”
The two guards were stunned for a moment, but they didn’t believe me. One still held me down while the other tried to force the medicine down my throat. Yet I cooperated and swallowed it.
They were both a bit stunned, but they didn’t say anything. They then both went back up. It wasn’t long before my stomach couldn’t take it anymore.
Then, hanging upside down, I began to poop in a handstand. Even the strongest willpower couldn’t control this, gushing out with unstoppable force.
But I didn’t feel the humiliation I felt before, because I knew exactly what would happen to anyone who dared lay a hand on me.
The crowd was filming with their phones, shouting how disgusting it was, but they still watched with rapt attention. However, the scene was too chaotic for a live stream and would be blocked in seconds.
Chapter 5
At that moment, suspended upside down, I faced the building’s window. Suddenly, I saw someone open the window and hold up a sign in front of me.
It read: [Mr. Kennedy said he was skilled and your mother was a fool. Once their child is born, the baby will inherit the Chanton Group and everything belongs to Mr. Kennedy.]
William really wanted to make me feel uncomfortable. “Agatha, you’d better pull Bertrand up quickly. After all, our VIP guest will arrive soon.”
He advised sincerely, “While disciplining your son is acceptable, this isn’t something you can show to our guests. It’d look bad if people found out.”
“Pull him up now!”
My mom was incredibly obedient. Before long, I was being pulled up, filthy from head to toe. Everyone backed away. William, however, stepped forward and squatted in front of me.
He said lowly, “You little brat, I brought you up here so you could see firsthand how I’m closing the deal with the VIP guest you invited. That new project of yours? I’m going to take over!”
No wonder he asked me to come up because he wanted to humiliate me in person.
I sneered, “But aren’t you afraid this VIP guest will help me?”
William laughed. “I know that the VIP guest is very capable, but we’ve already spoken and he strongly supports me leading the project, then you’re out.”
Celine also came over and instructed the security, “Get the hose and rinse him down as quickly as possible. High water pressure won’t be a problem.”
Then I endured another round of torture from the high-pressure water jet. My whole body felt cold and I probably got a fever.
William ordered, “Quick! Get Bertrand a change of clothes!”
A security guard immediately came over, helped me and wore a suit. Wearing clothes while still wet was uncomfortable enough, but this suit was ill-fitting and too small for me, wearing it felt like torture.
“Did you do this on purpose?”
My mom suddenly yelled at me, “You’re wearing that dead bastard’s clothes! Are you deliberately trying to upset me?”
“Dead bastard?”
I looked closely and realized the cufflinks on the suit belonged to my father.
My mom roared, “If it weren’t for the VIP guest, I’d have killed you!”
Just then, the elevator door to the rooftop opened.
“Mr. Rodez, you’re here!”
William immediately stepped forward, but halted mid-stride, startled. “Excuse me, who are you? Why isn’t Mr. Rodez here?”
“You don’t deserve to know my name.”
The woman who emerged from the elevator, dressed in a black evening gown, looked elegant, mysterious and incredibly beautiful. When I saw her, I finally breathed a sigh of relief.
