Chapter 7
Seeing me staying in place and not going out, Giana suddenly became impatient.
But she quickly put on a caring look.
"Linda, what's wrong with you? Why do you look so scared? Are you feeling uncomfortable somewhere?"
"Nonsense. The first thing I saw after being reborn was the person who had killed me in the previous life. How could I be in a good mood?"
"This time, I must not be manipulated by Giana again."
Looking at the photo of my daughter on the cell phone screen, I suddenly had a clever idea.
I pointed to a corner of the bedroom, asking Giana, "Mom, I seem to have seen Daisy."
Daisy was the name of my first daughter. Until now, the screensaver on my cell phone was the photo of her when she was born.
Giana was stunned. Then her face turned pale.
"Linda, what nonsense are you talking about?"
But I saw Giana's body trembling uncontrollably.
I smiled.
"I saw her standing there. She is asking me to go and talk to her for a few words."
"Why don't you wait for me? I'll go and comfort her. What if she follows us to the hospital?"
This trick worked. "If you don't do anything wrong, you won't be afraid of ghosts knocking on the door."
Giana was scared. She waved her hand and stood outside the door.
"Then hurry up. I'll wait for you outside the door."
I smiled and closed the bedroom door.
I wished Daisy could come back and see me. I missed her a lot, but she had never appeared in my dreams. She might blame me, her mother, for not protecting her well.
Twenty minutes later, I opened the bedroom door.
Giana was a bit anxious.
"Linda, can you hurry up? Paisley can't wait anymore. The doctor is very busy."
I made a hesitant look.
"But Daisy won't let me go. She said if I went to Paisley's hospital, she would stay at home and not leave."
Giana outside the door became suspicious. Hearing what I said, she became cautious.
"How about this? I'll ask Paisley and see if the doctor can come to our house to examine you."
I was shocked when I heard this. "Giana wanted me to go to Paisley's hospital to have a check-up. She wanted to see if the baby in my belly a boy or a girl was, right?"
If it hadn't been confirmed that there was a girl in my belly, I wouldn't have been dead due to an accident.
It took about an hour by car to get to Paisley's private hospital. While the Municipal Hospital was only ten minutes away.
Seeing Giana looking at the bedroom and not daring to enter, I sighed. I could only ask Daisy for help again.
I pretended to look a little weak.
"Mom, Daisy just told me that she was born in the Municipal Hospital, so she hoped that her little brother in my belly could go to the Municipal Hospital today. She didn't want me to go to Paisley's place. What should I do?"
As I said that, I took out a photo of my daughter and held it in my arms.
As soon as Giana heard my words, her eyes lit up.
"You mean, Daisy said there is a little boy in your belly?"
I nodded and silently apologized to my daughter in my belly.
Giana wanted to say something else. I had dialed the emergency number of the Municipal Hospital when I entered the bedroom for the first time.
I said that I was originally going for a prenatal check-up. Suddenly, my stomach hurt. I couldn't walk anymore.
Now, the paramedics arrived.
I was lying in the ambulance. Then I received a call from Paisley.
"Sister-in-law, why haven't you come yet? Didn't you agree to come to my hospital for a prenatal examination today?"
"Hurry up and come over. It was not easy for me to make an appointment for you. The doctor is busy. He can't wait."
I couldn't help but sneer in my heart, thinking, "Are you going to make me go there, find out that there is a girl in my belly, and kill me?"
...
I paused and said indifferently, "Thank you very much. Paisley, I can't come today. Tell the doctor that I am not feeling well. I have gone to the Municipal Hospital. I won't go to your place."
After speaking, I blocked all contact information of Paisley.
"I don't believe it. I am at the Municipal Hospital. Can Giana, Henry, and Paisley find a way to do those wicked things?"
Chapter 8
An ambulance quickly sent me to the hospital.
The reason why I was more at ease with the Municipal Hospital was because the director of the obstetrics and gynecology department was my cousin.
With her around, I was much more at ease.
To delay time, I asked her to arrange a detailed physical examination for me.
"I don't believe it. After I finish checking, Paisley will urge me to go to her place."
I finished checking the last item. Then Henry rushed over.
He looked a bit anxious.
"Linda, Paisley said she couldn't reach you on the phone. She asked me when you would go over to her place. The doctor is still waiting. Since you're done here, let's hurry over there."
I suddenly felt a chill in my heart as I looked at this man, who had shared the same bed with me for many years.
I squeezed out a few tears and choked.
"Henry, my cousin said I bled and needed to stay in the hospital to take care of the baby. Please let Paisley know that I won't go to her place for a check-up."
My cousin blamed Henry cooperatively.
"Fortunately, Linda came in time today. Otherwise, the baby in her belly would not have been saved."
I looked at my cousin and smiled knowingly, thinking, "I don't believe that they can take me to Paisley's place since I'm here."
Of course, I didn't tell my cousin the truth. I was afraid she would tell my parents and make the two elders worry.
"As long as I don't go to Paisley's place for prenatal check-ups, Giana won't know that I am carrying a girl, so there won't be any accidents for no reason."
"As for Henry, I can't continue to be with him no matter whether he is the mastermind behind these things or not."
"In the previous life, it was him, a biological father, who killed my two daughters."
"In this life, he is not worthy of being my daughter's father."
In my previous life, when Giana found out that I was having a girl in the late stage of my first pregnancy, she tried every means to persuade me to have an abortion.
She said that the first grandchild of the Lawson family must be a boy.
But I didn't want to. Firstly, having a miscarriage in late pregnancy was too harmful to the body. Secondly, whether it was a boy or a girl, they were all delivered by me after ten months of pregnancy in my eyes.
Probably because of my firm attitude, Giana planned such an accidental murder at my daughter's full moon banquet.
To get rid of my one-month-old daughter, she even risked falling down the stairs and risking paralysis to kill my one-month-old daughter.
"She is her granddaughter. How could she do it?"
And Henry, he acquiesced to all this. During my second pregnancy, he conspired with Giana and Paisley to carry out a second murder of my child, even sucking out my last bit of value.
"How could I continue to live with such terrible people?"
Chapter 9
I thought this matter would come to an end. Unexpectedly, as soon as I completed the hospitalization procedures, Paisley's leader called me.
She chatted with me for a while. Hearing that I was going to be hospitalized to rest myself, she comforted me.
Then, she changed the subject.
"If it's inconvenient for you to come over, how about we bring the doctor over to examine you? Normally, you must make an appointment to be checked by such a famous doctor. If you weren't Paisley's sister-in-law, you wouldn't have this opportunity."
I was furious. I wondered what benefits Giana gave to Paisley and her leader, which made them so eager to help me with a prenatal examination.
I let out a derisive snort.
"I emphasized repeatedly that I wouldn't go to your hospital. Don't you understand my words?"
After saying that, I hung up the phone.
Henry was a little confused on the side.
"If you don't go to their hospital, why are you getting angry at Paisley's leader? They are well-intentioned."
"Well-intentioned? If it weren't for going to Paisley's place for the prenatal examination, I wouldn't have had an accident later and killed my second child."
"I'd rather not be treated with such good intentions!"
"In my previous life, after my accident, Paisley and her leader made use of my misfortune and donated my kidney to the daughter of Henry's leader."
"With this, Paisley got promoted, and her leader made a fortune."
"In this life, I didn't cooperate. They must be very anxious, right?"
"This time, I want to see if I will encounter any accidents if I don't go to Paisley's place for prenatal check-ups."
Seeing me rejecting them like I was crazy, Henry didn't mention the check-up again.
I stayed in the hospital for a month. When things calmed down, I prepared to be discharged and go home.
There was something more important waiting for me.
Surprisingly, as soon as I stepped into the house, I found Paisley waiting there.
