Chapter 1
It was unsurprising that Shawn fell in love with someone else.
Because we didn't be together because of love.
I was the only one trapped in this marriage arranged by my parents.
I already knew whether Shawn loved me or not.
But I always thought that Shawn, who was calm and gentle, would only fall in love with someone else after he broke up with me.
When I found out that he and his first love had a child who was older than my daughter, I was devastated.
I didn't expect I would become a joke after our seven-year marriage.
Later I found out that Shawn even gave my daughter's name to commemorate his first love.
His first love was named Mia Milton, while our daughter was named Mian.
It turned out that one could never make others love him by time.
No matter how long!

It was almost time to get off work when I received a call from Shawn.
His meeting in the afternoon was quite long and he was afraid that he would not be able to pick up Mian.
The school where I worked was in the opposite direction of Mian's kindergarten.
In the past six months, Shawn had taken the initiative to pick up and drop off Mian at school.
I checked the time and packed up my things to get off work.
When I passed by a dessert shop, I bought Mian her favorite cake.
After getting in the car, Mian started chattering with me about what happened during the day.
"Mom, remember to buy a bunch of flowers when you come tomorrow!"
I fastened her seatbelt and asked her, "Don't you like cake?"
"Well..." she thought for a while and said, "But I prefer Ms. Milton to be happy."
Ms. Milton? I remembered that when Mian first entered kindergarten, the teacher who taught her class was named Parker.
"So what does buying flowers have to do with Ms. Milton?"
"Dad would buy flowers every time he picked me up and asked me to give them to Ms. Milton."
As soon as Mian finished speaking, my heart thumped as if something was pulling it.
I didn't notice the red light or the stopped vehicle at the intersection ahead and crashed straight into it.
Fortunately, my driving skills were not very good, so I drove slowly, otherwise, the consequences would be disastrous.
Chapter 2
Shawn was rushed to the hospital.
I was sitting on a bench outside the emergency room, waiting for Mian in a daze.
When Shawn saw me, he ran over quickly.
"Alice, are you okay?"
I looked up at him.
The worry in his eyes didn't seem fake.
Thinking about what Mian said, I couldn't help but feel that I was being too suspicious.
I told him what happened, but hid what Mian told me.
Shawn gently stroked my face which was swollen after the hit of the airbag, while looking anxiously towards the emergency room.
"How's Mian?"
"The doctor said she needs to take another CT scan, fearing that she might have a concussion."
"It's okay. I'm here. It's all my fault."
Shawn held me in his arms and comforted me softly.
A couple next to us who were arguing because their child had a high fever fell silent when they saw us.
Shawn was always calm and had a good temper.
This made many people envious.
But I was the only one who knew that it was because he didn't care about me.
Chapter 3
Shawn and I met through a blind date.
My father and Shawn's father were comrades-in-arms.
One of them had advanced lung cancer and the other had advanced liver cancer.
Our father's wish was to see us have our own family.
With the help of both parties, Shawn and I got together after we met.
We were together not because of love, but for our fathers.
We got married half a month later.
After marriage, Shawn treated me very politely.
He spoke softly and politely, just like a modest gentleman.
If I hadn't heard from others how he acted when he broke up with his first love, I would have thought he was just like that.
That day his partner Kevin White came to our house for dinner.
I didn't have classes in the afternoon, so I went home early and prepared dinner in the kitchen.
Shawn and Kevin didn't notice me when they came back.
Kevin was standing at the entrance telling how Shawn cried hysterically when he broke up with his first love.
I lost my grip on the shovel and it fell to the ground with a sharp sound.
"Alice, you're home?"
I picked up the shovel and met Kevin's evasive eyes.
Shawn naturally took the shovel from my hand and said softly, "I'll do it!"
It was then that I realized Shawn was not a man without feelings.
But the person he had feelings for was not me!
