Chapter 1

My grandmother, Eunice, was lying on the hospital bed. Her wish before she died was to see me marry my boyfriend.

But he suddenly disappeared on the wedding day. My grandmother's illness relapsed, and she left me forever with regret.

That night, I knelt in front of my grandmother's body and finally received a call from Jaden Stewart.

But what he said was, "Call yourself bitch."

There was a sharp laugh from my phone. I was so angry that my body was shaking. I couldn't help but ask.

"Is this why you left me?"

Soon, the phone was taken over by his sister, Jenny Stewart.

"It's just a joke. Jaden lost a game because he drank for me. Just treat it as a drunken joke."

The call was hung up and I received the photo of the box sent by Jaden's sister, Jenny Stewart.

In the past, I might have kept calling and sending messages to question Jaden.

After I left without saying goodbye, he panicked and looked for me all over the world.

He said he was wrong and he couldn't live without me.

——

I held my grandmother's urn without crying and walked into a cemetery for the funeral.

No one came because I was the woman that Astanton's richest man, Jaden, hated the most.

He hated me so much that he ran away from the wedding, abandoned me on the wedding night to attend a bachelor party, and made me joke in front of my grandmother's corpse to humiliate me.

In fact, I was not surprised at all that Jaden left me for Jenny.

It was because I was just the blood transfusion tool prepared by Jaden for Jenny.

But I never expected that he would ignore Eunice's last wishes, skip the wedding, and cause her to have a heart attack and die despite failed rescue efforts.

According to my grandmother's last wish, I put up a photo of her and my grandfather getting married when they were young.

I knelt on the ground for a long time and was about to take the urn away for burial when I suddenly saw Jaden and Jenny, who was following him.

"Jaden, will anyone come to the cat's funeral?"

Jenny held an urn in her arms.

Jaden soothed her softly.

"Yes, it will. The cat is also our family. I have asked my assistant to notify everyone. It will have a grand funeral."

A cat's funeral was crowded with guests, but there was not a single person at my grandmother's funeral.

I suppressed the sadness in my heart and tried to avoid them, but Jaden had already seen me.

"You're following me?"

Jaden said firmly.

It was such a coincidence that we met in a cemetery, so he naturally suspected that I was following him.

I didn't want to waste time with him, so I looked away and turned to leave, but Jenny stopped me.

She smiled brightly with a look of apparent provocation.

"Jane, don't be angry. I lost the singles party game that night, and Jaden took the punishment for me. I didn't mean to humiliate you.

"Since you're here, why don't you attend my cat's funeral?"

It was ridiculous.

Because he had to attend Jenny's bachelorette party, Jaden ran away from the wedding, leaving me behind in public.

Because he wanted to take punishment for Jenny, Jaden chose the least important one, me, to be humiliated.

But it was just my self-deprecation. I had no other emotion.

I met her gaze coldly.

"No, get out of here."

As soon as I finished speaking, Jaden had already protected Jenny behind him, looking as if I had bullied her.

"Jane, can you please speak properly?"

I used to argue with him, but now I had no desire to talk to him at all.

I didn't care what he thought. I was tired.

"Well, get out of the way."

I turned and left. Behind me, Jaden had a dazed expression on his face.

This was the first time I left quietly without making a fuss because Jaden protected Jenny.

Jaden took a few steps and grabbed my wrist.

"Whose urn is this? You're not going to steal it just to stalk me, are you?"

The stalking he referred to was that I repeatedly fainted due to heart palpitations after blood transfusions and called him for help, but he misinterpreted it as me trying to find out his whereabouts.

When my grandmother was given critical illness notices again and again, I went to the company building to ask him to see her for the last time, but he misunderstood me.

I looked at the arrogant Jaden and wanted to explain.

But I felt despair and couldn't make a sound.

I gave up. He had never listened to my explanation seriously.

I didn't want to waste time, so I shook off Jaden's hand.

Jaden frowned unconsciously and stopped me forcefully.

"Jane, what's wrong with you today? Just because I left early at the wedding? Jenny has already explained it to you. What else do you want?"

"I don't want to forgive you. Jaden, stop that. We no longer have any relationship. Don't blame me."

Jaden was selfish and arrogant. Because he was the wealthiest man in the city, everyone did what he wanted.

I used to do the same, giving blood transfusions to Jenny and being his secret girlfriend.

Countless times, I had despised myself for being humble and serving as a tool.

But I knew that I loved Jaden, and I was even shamelessly glad that I could continue to be with Jaden because of my grandmother's illness.

But my grandmother, Eunice, died. The ridiculous bond between Jaden and me was severed.

His escaping from marriage and humiliation completely shattered my love for Jaden.

I looked at Jaden and said coldly.

"Let's get a divorce."

Chapter 2

I quickly realized that Jaden and I hadn't even finished our wedding, so I should not say divorce.

"We break up."

"Jenny and I are just siblings. Please stop being unreasonable."

Jenny was the adopted daughter of Jaden's family. Since they were siblings, my jealousy was misunderstood to destroy the relationship between the siblings, which was considered unreasonable in the eyes of outsiders.

But it had nothing to do with the siblings' love.

My patience had reached its limit, so I walked away from Jaden.

But before I took a few steps, Jenny's screams sounded from behind.

"Jaden, my nose is bleeding. Hurry up. Give me a blood transfusion!"

Jenny had hereditary hemophilia. At this moment, she was covering her nose, and blood was oozing from between her fingers.

And her blood type was rare. I was the only one who could give her blood.

I paused for a moment, subconsciously thinking of running away, but before I could take a few steps, Jaden stopped me.

"Jane, quickly give Jenny a blood transfusion!"

No way!

My grandmother, who had depended on me since childhood, just died of a heart attack due to Jaden. I couldn't give Jenny a blood transfusion!

I tried to run with the urn in my arms, but several bodyguards surrounded me from all directions.

"Jaden, let me go! You have killed my grandmother. I can't give a blood transfusion!"

But Jaden just sneered, took a few steps closer, raised his hand and smashed the urn in my hand to the ground.

"When did you learn this new trick? You're using even your most beloved relative as a bargaining chip to contain me. Jane, you're crazy."

My mind went blank, and I couldn't hear what he said at all.

"Grandma..."

They killed my grandmother, and now even her ashes had been crushed.

I sat dejectedly on the ground. My face was pale. And I was so collapsed that I couldn't utter a sound.

When Jaden saw me like this, his eyes showed his sadness. Just as he was about to take a few steps forward, Jenny fell behind him.

The pain in his eyes disappeared in an instant and turned into fear.

"What are you doing? Send her to the hospital for a blood transfusion immediately!"

The bodyguards pulled me up from the ground. I struggled frantically, holding my stomach, and humbly begged Jaden.

"I can't give her a blood transfusion! Jaden, I'm already pregnant with your baby. If I give Jenny a blood transfusion again, the baby will die!"

Jaden looked at me suddenly. "What did you say?"

Jenny was lying on the ground, making sounds as she gasped for breath. Jaden made a judgment almost instantly.

"Jane, you make up any lie to avoid giving Jenny a blood transfusion."

I was shocked.

In Jaden's mind, I could actually lie about my grandmother's death and my baby's safety.

How crazy...

But at this time, I no longer cared about my anger and dissatisfaction. The baby had just been formed. This was my first child. My grandmother said that this was her blessed grandchild. This was my grandmother's last wish before her death. I must not let anything happen to it!

Tears blurred my vision. I begged Jaden.

"Jaden, please let me go. When the baby is born, I'll give Jenny a blood transfusion, but not now. The baby will die. This is our baby."

But Jaden just stood there. A look of reluctance flashed across his eyes, followed by indifference.

The needle was pushed into my vein, and the sedative quickly took effect. I reached out and grabbed the blurry figure in front of me, begging desperately.

"Baby... Our baby..."

My eyes closed weakly, and I fell into darkness.

When I opened my eyes, I found the room was empty.

I was in a coma for a day and a night.

The red and swollen needle holes on the back of my hand indicated that I had been giving a blood transfusion for at least two hours.

I put my hands on my belly.

There was no more move.

I lost my baby.

Chapter 3

I curled up on the hospital bed, feeling hopeless.

But before I had time to grieve, Jaden's assistant came with an urn in his hand.

The assistant looked at me with pity in his eyes.

"This is your grandmother's urn. All the ashes have been put in it. Ms. Ray, please take a look."

My dull eyes regained clarity, and I held the urn as if it were a treasure.

The assistant hesitated and said.

"Mr. Stewart doesn't know about your pregnancy and the ashes. You are still critical to him."

I wanted to laugh, but my cracked lips were so painful that even I made the slightest move.

"So what? He didn't spare either the baby or the ashes."

The assistant moved his lips but didn't say anything in the end. He just gave me a business card of the cemetery and said that the cemetery had been purchased and the ashes could be buried directly.

I really didn't want to go, but I didn't have the money to buy a grave for my grandmother.

I carried my grandmother's ashes to the cemetery and buried the urn with my own hands.

I sat in front of the cemetery for a while, and when I was about to leave, I saw Jaden and Jenny again.

"The assistant said that Jane reserved this cemetery. It would be bad if we just occupied it."

Jaden didn't answer. He had already seen me.

"Jane..."

I didn't respond. I turned around and walked to another place.

But Jaden came up a few steps and held me.

"What are you hiding from?"

I shook off his hand fiercely and walked forward with a cold face.

I was afraid that I would not be able to control myself and lose my composure in front of my grandmother's grave or even do something wrong like killing someone.

Jaden pursed his lips, looking confused and impatient.

I knew he was angry. I was too familiar with him. In the past, whenever Jaden made this expression, I would be scared, take all the blame on myself, and be humble and submissive.

I loved him before.

I didn't love him now.

Jaden's emotions had nothing to do with me anymore.

"Leave me alone." I still left with a cold face.

Jaden finally felt a little panicked. He had a strong feeling that after I left this time, I would never come back.

He made a strange move for no other reason.

"You haven't contacted me for so many days. How is Eunice?"

I looked at Jaden in disbelief.

If he had listened to what I said during these days and called the hospital to confirm, he would not have said such stupid and ridiculous words.

But he didn't. As usual, he did whatever he wanted and felt at ease blaming me.

I looked at him with a sneer.

"Eunice? She's there."

I pointed at the cemetery and looked at Jaden sarcastically.

Jaden frowned. And his hands were clenched, but he quickly loosened them and found a reason for himself.

"No way. Jane, you want to lie to me again."

I closed my eyes and smiled to myself.

Jaden was paranoid and arrogant. He would subconsciously ignore answers he didn't want. He was the wealthiest man, he believed he was never wrong.

I wanted to show him the death certificate and the cemetery registration.

But I was weak and could only stand.

I felt dizzy. Hundreds of blood transfusions over the past five years had made me weak and thin. All the flesh, blood, and spirit inside my body had been taken away.

I squatted down and sat on the ground to rest.

Chest pain, fatigue, and cold sweats were all typical sequelae of blood transfusion.

I had a miscarriage after the blood transfusion, and I had no time to rest before I immediately buried my grandmother's ashes. The suppressed emotions and tired body stimulated my heart, and it beat abnormally fast. For a few seconds, I felt like I was going to die.

Jaden looked at me for a long time. He wanted to speak but he didn't ask any questions.

I leaned against the tombstone. The breeze blew on my face, and I vaguely recalled the first time I met Jaden.

He was a rich man dressed in a well-tailored suit and surrounded by people, while I was an ordinary college student busy with my graduation thesis and looking for a job.

There was a gap between us. If it weren't for Jenny's illness, we would never have met.

But Jaden said he liked me. I didn't believe that the Cinderella story would happen to me.

He recruited me into the company, sent me roses, sent me lunch that was so expensive he made it himself, taught me a lesson, and taught his partner who made dirty jokes to me a lesson over a drinking table...

I inevitably fell in love with him, wondering what a big shot like Jaden could get from an ordinary person like me. Could he possibly take my life?

He wanted my blood and my life. He smashed Eunice's ashes and killed our child with his own hands.

Ever since I became Jenny's tool, I had become particularly sleepy. Sometimes, I slept for the whole day and still felt groggy.

I fell asleep again, and when I woke up, I saw a scene that drove me to despair.

Eunice's grave had been dug up, and workers were putting the ashes in Jenny's hand into the pit and filling it with soil, while Eunice's ashes were casually thrown aside.
