Chapter 2

Veronica and Kyren were both driven by career ambition, often pushing themselves to the brink for their work. They poured most of their energy into their jobs, and in the six months since their wedding, they frequently found themselves skipping meals due to late hours, returning home completely drained.

To accommodate their hectic schedules, ordering takeout became an essential part of their routine. Interestingly, Veronica noticed that the delivery was always handled by the same youthful, charming delivery guy, who looked almost like a teenager. She couldn't help but wonder about the odds of her orders always landing with him—it felt like some kind of cosmic joke.

Based solely on his appearance, he could easily be mistaken for a minor. During each delivery, as she gazed at his fresh-faced look, she always offered a warm smile and a soft thank you. He never responded verbally, but occasionally their eyes would lock for a fleeting moment. There was something about his eyes—like a serene lake—calm and soothing, making each shared glance feel like a moment of silent understanding.

Lately, when he handed over the delivery of pulled pork sandwiches and spiced honey cake, their fingers would lightly brush. Whether intentional or not, she hadn't thought much of it at first. Yet, on this quiet evening, his image lingered in her mind, each gesture exaggerated, recalling the gentle touch of his long fingers brushing against her palm.

She mentally scolded herself, shaking her head to banish the intrusive thoughts. This was precisely why she'd started asking Kyren to pick up the deliveries. Whether or not those tiny touches were on purpose, they left her feeling uncomfortable.

However, Kyren's recent behavior had made her increasingly suspicious.

Chapter 3

In recent days, Kyren had eagerly volunteered to pick up deliveries more often, each time staying out longer. Sometimes, when he finally brought the food back, it would be cold. He often appeared excited, telling Veronica he’d bumped into an old friend downstairs and lost track of time chatting. Other times, he seemed worn out, like he'd walked a long distance, returning with a rosy complexion and explaining the weather was just too hot. Occasionally, he'd come back slightly flushed and breathless, claiming he had taken the stairs for exercise. Each time, Kyren had a new excuse. Gradually, Veronica began to feel something was off.

Determined to uncover what was actually happening, she devised a plan. To celebrate a project success at work, Veronica ordered from two different restaurants, ensuring plenty of food and drink. Kyren watched the delivery status intently, and as soon as it was marked as "on its way," he eagerly left the house, claiming he was combining exercise with waiting for the delivery by taking a walk downstairs.

After Kyren left, Veronica quickly changed clothes, wrapped a scarf around her neck, and discreetly followed him. From a distance, she noticed a familiar figure: the charming delivery guy who always brought their food. He stood holding the bags of food, glancing around as if searching for someone. Just as Veronica debated whether to approach him, she saw Kyren walk toward the young man, casually slinging their arms over each other’s shoulders as they strolled away, chatting and laughing like old friends. Her confusion deepened, and before she knew it, they had disappeared from sight.

Determined, Veronica headed in their direction, hoping to catch up. She wandered until she nearly missed a narrow alleyway. Suddenly, a sound reached her ears—pleasure mixed with pain—a familiar sound.

“Mm~ go easy with that move~” a soft, youthful male voice murmured. Veronica paused, recognizing it as the same voice she’d overheard during a tense moment in their stairwell. It was tender, like a feather brushing her senses, sending ripples through her mind. She hadn’t expected to hear it here.

Her curiosity piqued, she approached slowly, careful to remain silent. Eavesdropping was hardly proper. She glanced at her disguise, confident she could remain unnoticed even if discovered.

“Baby, it's time for dinner, ready to dig in!” Another voice, deep and magnetic, filtered through intermittently, carried by the breeze. It seemed vaguely familiar, but the noise of nearby vendors drowned out much of the sound. As she ventured deeper into the alley, the surrounding noise faded, leaving only the soft whimpers of the youthful voice and the gravelly, labored breaths of the other, creating an oddly harmonious blend.

“Brother, this position is too difficult~” the younger voice whined, followed by a gruff, deliberate inquiry, “Difficult? Tell me, did you not practice at home? Time for some punishment!”

As she strained to hear more, Veronica only caught the excited murmurings of the sweet, youthful voice.

“I accept, but between your wife and me, who’s better?”

...

“I want to be with you forever, brother~ When can I move in with you?”

“How about we get your wife to join us in practice, hmm~ brother?”

The words tumbling from the soft, youthful voice shattered Veronica’s understanding of their relationship. They turned out to be lovers, with one party still quite entangled elsewhere. Despite the modern world’s acceptance of various relationships, she couldn’t condone their actions.

Shaking her head, Veronica lost interest, remembering her initial goal to find Kyren. As she turned to leave, a sudden voice rang out, accompanied by rhythmic, passionate sounds echoing within the alley’s confines.

“What’s the rush? Haven’t you had enough from this meal?” The unrestrained, joyous voice accompanied by the sound of intense contact reached her ears.

She widened her eyes in disbelief and peered into the dim recesses of the alley, only to find...
