My Groom Married Twice. I Ruined Him Once Summary

My arranged marriage to Salvatore Barone was supposed to secure our families' alliance. Instead, it became a public humiliation when his pregnant courier, Bianca Rizzo, crashed the ceremony. Unabashed, Salvatore declared Bianca his second wife, demanding I raise their unborn heir. While the Barone elders begged me to stay for the sake of the treaty, my family urged me to walk. Refusing to endure this disrespect, I tossed my corsage at the bride, sarcastically applauded their sham, and walked out.

Chapter 1 of My Groom Married Twice. I Ruined Him Once

Halfway through my alliance wedding to the man I'd loved since I was a little girl, his courier, Bianca Rizzo, walked into the ballroom with one hand resting on her swollen belly.

Salvatore Barone escorted her inside as if she belonged there. His hand remained firmly around her waist while he faced me without the slightest hint of remorse.

"I know the Commission would never approve a marriage between Bianca and me," he said evenly. "But I made her a promise. She deserves a wedding, and my child deserves a complete family."

He paused only long enough for the room to fall silent.

"From this day forward, Bianca is my wife as well. The child she's carrying will be treated as our heir, and you'll care for that baby as if it were your own."

A wave of stunned whispers swept through the hall.

My parents' faces darkened instantly. They hurried to my side, urging me to leave.

"No daughter of the Valente Family should have to endure this humiliation," my father said through clenched teeth.

Across the room, however, the Barone elders stepped forward one after another, asking me to stay.

"Think about the alliance."

"Think about both Families."

"This wedding cannot fall apart."

I looked from their anxious faces to Salvatore's cold, unreadable expression.

Not once did he try to explain.

Not once did he look guilty.

Beside him, Bianca gently stroked her stomach, unable to hide the smug smile tugging at the corners of her lips.

I stared at them for a long moment.

Then I smiled.

Slowly, I removed the corsage pinned to my gown and tossed it straight at Bianca's feet.

I met Salvatore's eyes and laughed.

"A wedding with two brides?"

"That's the tackiest thing I've ever seen."

I took a step back, making room between us.

"Since she's carrying your child, let her have the spotlight."

"Congratulations."

"Tonight's wedding belongs to the two of you."

Then, in the suffocating silence that filled the ballroom, I raised my hands and applauded.

One clap.

Then another.

Slow.

Deliberate.

Each sharp sound echoed through the hall like a slap across every face in the room.

……

The entire ballroom fell into stunned silence.

Salvatore's face immediately darkened.

"Adriana," he said coldly, "today is our wedding. Do you really have to embarrass everyone by making a scene?"

I almost laughed.

He was calling *me* the one making a scene?

At my own alliance wedding, he had walked in with his pregnant mistress on his arm and announced that he intended to marry us both.

Did he honestly expect me to stand there, smile, and accept it?

Without another word, I took the microphone from the master of ceremonies.

My voice rang through the silent ballroom.

"Thank you all for attending tonight."

"There has been a slight change to the ceremony."

"But don't worry. The wedding will still take place."

I looked directly at Salvatore and Bianca before smiling faintly.

"It's just that the bride has changed."

"They're marrying for the sake of the baby."

"So let's all offer our blessings to the happy couple."

Not a single person applauded.

The silence was heavier than any insult.

Salvatore's expression grew even darker, while his parents stood frozen, their faces burning with humiliation. In front of every influential Family present, the Barone name had become tonight's greatest joke.

I paid them no more attention.

Turning around, I walked straight toward my parents.

Forcing a smile, I said softly, "Papà... Mamma... let's go home."

A crushing sense of guilt settled over me.

My parents had spent their entire lives respected by everyone around them. Never once had they been forced to endure humiliation like this.

Yet tonight...

They were suffering because of me.

My mother squeezed my hand tightly, her eyes filled with heartache.

Without saying a word, my father slowly rose to his feet.

He faced the guests and inclined his head with calm dignity.

"I've arranged another banquet."

"All gifts sent for tonight's ceremony have already been returned."

"Since you're all here, allow me the honor of hosting this evening instead."

The moment I saw him lower his head, my chest tightened with pain.

In all my years, I had never seen Don Vera Valente bow to anyone.

He had always stood tall.

Proud.

Untouchable.

The kind of man who commanded respect simply by walking into a room.

And yet tonight...

He lowered his head because of me.

Salvatore and I had grown up together.

Everyone knew I had loved him since childhood.

But from the very beginning, my parents had opposed our marriage.

We argued over him more times than I could remember.

Back then, I believed they were simply prejudiced against the Barone Family.

I thought they were standing in the way of my happiness.

Only now did I realize they had seen the truth long before I ever did.

Salvatore had never deserved my love.

I had foolishly believed my feelings would eventually move him.

I believed that if I loved him long enough, deeply enough, one day he would finally love me back.

For fifteen years, I chased after him without hesitation.

Fifteen years.

Long enough for mountains to change.

Long enough for even the coldest heart to soften.

Mine did.

His never would.

No matter how hard I tried to get closer, his eyes were always fixed on someone else.

Every meeting ended with his impatience.

Every kindness I offered was met with indifference.

Still, I refused to give up.

Like a moth flying into an open flame, I kept convincing myself that the next time would be different.

That eventually he would see me.

That one day he would choose me.

Instead, reality answered me with the cruelest blow imaginable.

He got another woman pregnant.

Then he brought her to our wedding...

And in front of my family, my friends, and every important person in our world, he shattered my dignity without the slightest trace of guilt.
