Ten years ago

Kent POV

I'm still longing for Lucy even I'm already engaged to Eloisa. I can't believe that we both betrayed her. We both knew that she was Lucy's best friend but how can she so brazen towards me when I was her friend's boyfriend. 

I was having a coffee in the lounge of the hotel when I felt a hand wrapping around my neck. I looked back and it was Eloisa. 

" Good morning, babe. You didn't wake me. I'm disappointed." She mumbled after she made her way on her chair in front of me. 

I put down the coffee on the table and shifted my eyes on her. I smirk. 

"Really? You sleep like dead how can I wake you up?" I told her with sarcasm.  

She rolled her eyes again at me which I didn't like. She acted like a brat every time we argued about something. She's nothing to Lucy because Lucy acts smart and mature. I wonder how is she doing right now after four years. 

"Anyway, dad called me and he wanted to prepare our marriage as soon as possible," she said like I was just jewelry to her. 

" Why so urgent? Did dad knows too?" I asked her to confirm. 

She took her coffee first. She put it back on the table and set a half-smile on her face.

" Yeah, he was the one who told dad because your dad's company is about to bankrupt!" There's a meaning in her voice. 

So this is why dad forced me to study abroad with Eloisa and to be engaged by her? He planned all of this. He ruined my life and my future just for his business! He even took away the only person I truly love in my life. I broke Lucy's heart and left her without even saying goodbye. 

It's all over now for both of us. Even I confronted dad about this I think there's no way to make things right.

Lucy POV

"Lucy, you have a visitor!" My father called me from my room. 

Who is my visitor this early morning? Yesterday was the day I didn't want to remember especially the guy who left me without even saying goodbye. The guy whom I thought is my knight and shining armor. 

I felt sick and my body feels sluggish to get up from my bed. 

"I'm coming!" I said to dad. 

I wash my mouth first and comb my hair. After that, I went outside my room to see who was my visitor today. 

As I began to amble in our mini living room, I saw an old man in his late fifties who was wearing a black tuxedo. I'm not familiar with him because, to be honest, it's my first time seeing him. 

He saw me and he quickly took something from his attached case who are resting on the table. 

" Are you Lucy Mason?" He said straight to the point after I sat in front of him. 

My father distracted us by offering him a coffee. 

" Sir, have a coffee first before it gets cold!" he said and offered him the coffee. 

I simply glared at him. 

" It's okay. I came here to give this to your daughter" he mumbled and pointed out the envelope on the table. 

I think he got the wrong place. 

"Wait, sir, may I know who are you? I don't know you but you came all the way to give me that white envelope?" I asked him and he set a smile on his face. 

He seems arrogant and a powerful person. 

"I know you. To make my transaction faster here, you knew Kent Oliver Stone?" He raises his brows while telling me. 

I frowned and clenched my fist. Why he brings his name in our conversation? Did he know Kent? 

"Yes, but it's none of your business sirs" I coldly said but I was surprised when he offered me money.

"Take this money and don't bother him forever. I am Kent's father and he is my only son and heir of my company. I hope you understand." His stern voice rings into my head. 

I stood up and look down at him. 

"I don't need your filthy money sir. I love your son and we love each other!" I told him with my calm voice. 

"Leave now, please" I summoned him. 

I took one step back to my room when he called out. 

"Soon, you will accept my offer, Miss Mason. Anyway, good day to both of you." He said and left. 

Dad didn't know what is happening but all he cares is money and not my feelings.

Eloisa POV

Half minutes left and I will soon be Mrs. Eloisa Stone. A glimpse of a smile painted into my face. I was inside my room with a beauty artist. She was now putting the final touch on my makeup and the vile.

"You look pretty, ma'am. Your husband to be is lucky to have you!" She told me and I was flattered to know it. 

"Maybe I'm just lucky to have him," I said, and a glamorous smile came to my face. 

*Wedding day*

Seeing myself walking in the aisle is a dream come true. I never thought this day will come. Back when the time Kent and Lucy were together, it always breaks my heart to see them smiling and blushing with each other. 

Kent is like a God who falls from heaven. He's a Zeus of the plant Earth. To see him smiling while waiting for me is like a jackpot. Poor Lucy, she will stay unhappy forever. I am not crazy to like her. I did all of it because I just need her to trust me and to tell me all of her secrets and lately, I found out that she and Kent are together. My mind went crazy that time but God is so good to me. It's a long story. 

Kent POV

"Congratulations to both of you!" All of our friends and families greeted us while we are now walking out of the church. 

"Thank you" my wife Eloisa replied to all their greetings. 

I don't know but I feel like I was attending a funeral. 

"Honey, we're now finally a couple. What do you feel?" She asked me before we arrived at the church entrance.

I shrugged and smiled a little bit. She's encircling her hands in my arms. 

"Of course, I'm happy" I muttered. 

"Congratulations again. Now it's time for the bride to throw her bouquet to the ladies." His brother Gale said. 

Eloisa walked forward and turned around to throw it but before she could do it, everyone screams when she instantly fell on the floor.

Kent POV

Eloisa keeps calling me in the middle of the night. I ignored her calls because I want to spend the night with Lucy. Even the alcohol takes over my sanity, I still know what I am doing. I can't believe how she waited for me for that long year. Why I was so weak and selfish at that time? I feel guilty and sorry for her. Seeing her resting in my arms while she's beautifully asleep, I can't help but smile. She never changed a bit, still pretty and innocent. The only thing I can't forgive myself for is, I never know that she was still untouched. Yes, Lucy is chaste the first time I bed her. 

Oh, I forgot my company phone at the house. It's morning and I had to go to meet new applicants who passed in the interview especially my new secretary. 

I don't intend to wake her. Maybe a letter is nice to greet her when she got up. I am still hoping to meet her again someday. We had a good time together and that's all matters.

Eloisa POV 

What took him so long? Is he going to leave me because I am now a bedridden and useless wife in bed? I know I made a mistake for keeping him my illness but I just want to die happy and to have someone by my side. 

I can't walk on my own without a wheelchair and my hair is falling off on its own. My time is almost over but he can't act like that to show me his rebellious side. 

"Ana can you call Adam for me!" I shouted from my room on the voice radio speaker that connected to the whole house where anyone could hear me. 

Any minute, Ana came.

"Yes, ma'am. Adam is on his way." Ana told me.

"Thank you," I said and she left again. 

Ana is my nurse. 

At last, Adam arrived. He just came from our company. He was my bodyguard. He never leaves without his phone and company phone but I was surprised to see them on the bedside table. He was very hard to reach so Adam is my only option to check if he went to work or not. I'm still thinking, where did he sleep last night? Did he sleep in a hotel? 

I need to stay calm and focus. Kent would never do such a thing. He loves me so much and I did everything to give him the company he wanted. 

"Good morning, ma'am. Did you call for me?" Adam bowed his head and greeted me. 

I smiled at him. Ana came back to help me got up from my bed. 

"Did Kent reported to the office today?" I asked him. 

He nods his head. 

"I saw him coming late, ma'am. He was now inside his office to meet his new secretary" he answered politely. 

I raised my eyebrows. I hope she's not as clumsy as the last one. 

"Oh, I see. Did the interview go well? I hope the board of directors chose a great applicant for him. He's very hard to please." I said and Adam approved of my opinion. 

Before I forgot, I took my husband's phone and handed it to him. 

"Take this and give it to him. He left it." I said and Adam followed my orders. 

"I'm going, ma'am. I'll be back in a minute." He said and I nod my head. 

After my chemotherapy session, I promise to visit the building we owned. I took sleeping pills to make myself browse and forget about his lame actions last night.

It's almost evening but Kent hasn't home yet. This is the first time he came home late in our ten years of marriage. I shook my head and think of our happy moments together. Maybe he had much paperwork to do since he's the one handling our firm. While thinking about my husband, the telephone rings. I took it and put it on my ears. 

" Hello, may I help you?" I asked the person who called me on the other line. 

"Madam, I hope you still remember me?" it's the same voice I last spoke before I and Kent went abroad. 

"Rey? Why you suddenly calling me now? I thought our transaction ends there! Don't call me again! Bye!" I said while keeping lips calm. 

His chuckles ring in my ears. 

"Are you crazy Madam Eloisa? You paid us half so I called you to get the other half!" he said. 

My mind is in chaos now. How did he find me and knew my telephone number? This person is a pain in my head. I had no choice but to transfer the half amount of money to his bank account or else my secret comes out and if that happens, Kent will be disgusted with me and leave me. That is if Rey will talk to him but everything is under my control. No one will know what I did ten years ago. 

After we are done, I cut off our conversation and rest my back on my bed. I'm about to call my husband when the door creaked open and he suddenly appeared. 

"I'm sorry I'm late, honey. Many paperwork!" he mumbled after kissing my forehead. 

I accepted his excuse and smiled at him. 

"It's okay, honey. I know it's hard to be a CEO without me at your side but I trust you and your ability so I am sure you can do it. So, how's the new secretary of yours?" I asked him while helping me out from our bed and put me in my wheelchair. 

"She's better. Anyway, let's go and eat!" he said and he helped me. 

We ended our dinner early because my head suddenly throbs. Kent helps me back to our room. While he was putting me on the bed, I notice a lipstick stain on his collar. I close my eyes to confirm what I saw and I'm not mistaken. I wore pink lipstick and this one is red. 

"Go to sleep now, honey. I'll go to my study room to check some files for tomorrow's meeting," he told me and I nod my head. 

I had no idea when was the last time he went to his study room to do a work-related task. Is it okay for me to became suspicious or I am just overreacted? 

Kent PoV

I was inside my study room when Lucy texted me. 

***Lucy: "Where are you, sir? I miss you!" 

I felt aroused just by reading her texts. I wiped my lips with my hands and smirk. I think it's a teenager infatuation. I felt like we were still in high school after receiving her first message.
