Chapter 2

Orlando's text messages also popped up one after another. [We've finished dinner, you clean up. If I find the house still messy when I come back, don't blame me for breaking up with you.]

[My friends said you're not sensible and lose your temper regardless of the occasion. Look at you, you are really a caregiver. Even in such an occasion, you would embarrass me.]

[But Serena, I can still consider the two years you took care of me. I'll give you a chance to marry me and then I'll set up a team. You can apologize to Alicia and my friends properly.]

These text messages were all accusations and questions from Orlando, but not one of them showed him caring about where I was or whether I was taking good care of myself.

Orlando could be considered as my senior. When I enrolled, he was almost graduating, but as an excellent representative, he always appeared at important occasions.

He was charming, handsome and capable, who would not like him?

So at that time, I worked extra hard because I wanted to join the same company as him when I graduated.

However, by the time I tried hard to catch up with him, it was after graduation. He had already taken over the family business, but his company was not in line with my major and I could not get in. In order to improve myself better and keep pace with him, I chose my corresponding major.

I looked forward to the moment when I could break down those barriers and be with him.

At first, I just regarded him as my role model. It was exciting to make progress together with such a gifted person like him.

Everything happened in the year when Orlando had a car accident. Gardner Group's stock price fell, his childhood sweetheart left him, his half-brother took over Gardner Group and he himself became a disabled person, sitting in a wheelchair and having difficulty even standing up.

I secretly ran to see him and I saw that he was driven out of the door of his family main house and was only given a housekeeper.

At that time, his eyes were red and he stubbornly refused to admit defeat. His image had been vividly portrayed in my mind for many years.

"Are you sure you want to resign for someone who doesn't even know you? You're about to get a promotion."

At that time, Charlotte did not understand at all because she had been teaching me carefully and I did not want to hide it from her.

When I told her I gave up my job because I wanted to take care of Orlando, Charlotte asked me and saw that I still wanted to bang my head against the wall.

After a long silence, she said to me, "I hope you just keep going forward and I don't want him to let you down. I'll give you two days and I hope you will seriously consider whether he is worth you giving up so much."

"Ms. Sherman, there's no need to think about it. I want to go see him as soon as possible."

Charlotte looked at me a little disappointment and sighed. "You're doing this for a man, one day you will regret it."

I ended up leaving joyfully. Unlike me, Charlotte was full of sadness and finally she said, "I will always keep a place for you, but I hope you won't need it."

Two years later, I appeared in front of her in a disheveled state.

Her words came true. The love that I had been seeking with all my heart turned out to be a joke.

My mobile phone was still vibrating, Orlando's call came again.

After thinking for a moment, I still picked it up. "Serena, you've gone a little too far this time. You apologize to me right now and come back on your own, I'll forgive you."

"Orlando, we broke up."

"If you have the guts, say it again! Serena, who else would want you besides me?" He paused for a moment, then flew into a rage.

In his heart, he had always been high and mighty. He looked down on my profession. He thought I was just a caregiver and it was a blessing to give me a status.

Chapter 3

How ridiculous! When we were in love, I confessed my deep love to him and told him the inspirational story of me chasing after him, but it turned out that he did not listen to a single word.

"I don't want you anymore, Orlando," I responded softly.

After saying that, I blocked him without waiting for his response. We should stop here.

"You should have done this a long time ago. You gave up everything for him, but he didn't know how to cherish you. Now you have to love yourself well." Charlotte appeared again.

I looked at the woman who was both a teacher and a friend and my eyes turned red.

She hugged me and said, "It's okay. You will get better and better."

I started to learn again under her guidance. Although I was in the position of a partner, I was also doing some related online business in the past few years, but I had no practical experience. So I needed to learn more and expand my knowledge.

Three months have passed in the blink of an eye. This was the first time I returned to the city where Orlando and I lived after going to Caspian.

Our event exhibition hall was here. This was the first time I attended such a project as the person in charge. I checked the process several times on the plane, which made Charlotte laugh. "Don't worry, you will definitely have no problem. Why don't you believe in yourself?"

"I know, I just wanted to do it perfectly."

On the second day of the event, I arrived early.

I felt a gaze scrutinizing me and I saw Orlando coming with Alicia.

As soon as he saw me, he put on a disdainful expression, then walked over and said arrogantly, "What? You blocked me and followed me again. Serena, do you think I should forgive you now?"

As the boss of Gardner Group, he naturally had people watching him.

Alicia said, "Serena, you should be sensible. Back then, Orlando was disabled and you as a caregiver, took care of him. You wanted a status in return for the favor and he agreed without saying a word. Now you're breaking up and bringing shame to us. I have to say, I think you're being too harsh."

"That's right. I and Orlando have been friends since childhood, but you are the one who doesn't give him face the most. You even turned your face away when we were having a meal together. What's the matter? Have you had enough? You ran to this place and wanted to get back together with Orlando? You really a thick-skinned.”

“I'm telling you, I don't agree with it. Don't take advantage of his soft heart and do whatever you want. You have been his caregiver for all these years and he has repaid you for all the kindness he has shown you."

They kept talking and it was getting really hard for me. I took out my work badge and said, "Although I really want to agree with Mr. Gardner, as the organizer of this event, I still hope that you guys will be careful with your words and actions. After all, I've already seen the bid from Gardner Group."

As my words fell, I saw several people's faces change, especially Alicia. "Impossible, how could someone like you know Ms. Sherman?"
