Chapter 3

I knelt in front of the door, begging Baldwin to go and see our daughter.

I promised Hannah that I would bring her father back to see her. I couldn't bear to see the disappointment on her face.

But my pleas had no effect. Baldwin called the security guards.

What was even more despairing was that Charles told me that Hannah was in danger.

I broke free from the security guards and ran downstairs.

The operation was not successful. The doctor issued a critical condition notice. My hands trembled as I took it, and my eyes instantly blurred.

I signed the notice and turned around to run upstairs.

Hannah was waiting for us. I must bring her father to her.

Luckily, the door was open.

I saw Baldwin in the crowd at a glance.

I went up and grabbed his clothes, "Baldwin, the doctor has given Hannah a critical illness notice. Go and see her, okay?"

I thought that by now, even if Baldwin didn't believe what I said, he would be willing to go along.

But he just coldly pulled back his clothes; his brows filled with lingering annoyance and impatience, "Stop making a fuss! Can't you see how urgent the situation is now?"

"Brandon has congenital heart disease. He suddenly had an attack. You're also a mother. Can't you empathize?"

He paused, seeming to feel that his tone was too harsh, "Darling, I'll explain it to you when we get home. Don't be suspicious. I haven't done anything wrong."

After speaking, he didn't even turn his head and went to comfort the crying Sylvia by the bedside.

I numbly watched this absurd scene, my heart aching.

"Baldwin, is it that Hannah and I can only always be behind Sylvia and Brandon?

Even if our daughter is on the verge of death."

Chapter 4

I returned to the operating room in a daze.

When I saw Hannah again, she couldn't even lift her hands.

She was still so obedient. Tears soaked the pillow without saying a word of discomfort to me.

Her voice was hoarse, and she said to me weakly, "Mom... I'm so tired... I want to sleep.

Mom... Hannah loves you..."

"No, don't sleep, Hannah." I tightly held my daughter's little hand, tears uncontrollably streaming down my face, "Don't you want to see Dad? Dad is on his way, Hannah. Wait a little longer before sleeping, okay?"

"Dad... I..."

Before she could finish, Hannah's hand dropped, and she lost her last breath.

My brain went blank, and my heart felt like it was being violently hammered, the pain spreading throughout my body.

In a daze, I seemed to hear the familiar voice of Baldwin outside the door, "Fortunately, everything is fine. Don't worry too much. Brandon is so strong. He will definitely grow up safe and sound."

My daughter didn't see her father for the last time until the end of her life.

She left this world with eternal regret.

And her father blessed another little boy to grow up safely.

But my daughter would not grow up.

Chapter 5

"Mia, what's wrong with you? Just because I haven't been home for a few days to take care of Brandon in the hospital, you won't let Hannah go to kindergarten?

The teachers have told me that she hasn't been to class for several days.

I have told you, Brandon has congenital heart disease. It's not easy for Sylvia to take care of him alone. As the principle of the kindergarten, I just have the empathy that a normal person should have to take care of her.

It's you who have dirty thoughts and suspect us!

Stop doing these meaningless things and send Hannah to school quickly!" Just as the words fell, the phone hung up.

After Hannah had an accident for so long, the first phone call from Baldwin was a questioning one.

"Other teachers?" I was afraid it wa Sylvia.

I asked Charles to help notify the other teachers to attend my daughter's funeral.

Hannah loved staying in the kindergarten when she was alive.

Not only because the teachers treated her well, but also because her father was the principal of the kindergarten.

She was proud and believed that she had the best father in the world.

But it was in her beloved kindergarten.

Because of her beloved father's neglect,

she left forever.

"Have something at least. Hannah won't want to see you like this."

Since Hannah left, I had been unable to sleep or eat.

Charles took a leave of absence because he was worried about my condition.

He was grateful for the helping hand I extended when he was at a loss.

He had taken care of me and my daughter over the years.

But it was not that I didn't want to eat.

It was just that I vomited the mouthful of food I reluctantly swallowed after only two seconds.

Vomiting blood again, I finally couldn't hold on and collapsed.

Charles took me to the hospital, but unfortunately, I encountered two figures I detested the most.

"Charles, it's not appropriate for you to go out with my wife at this time, right?"

Before Baldwin could finish questioning, Sylvia behind him tugged at his sleeve, her voice filled with concern.

"Baldwin, Brandon is still waiting for us. He's still so little. I'm afraid..."

Baldwin's face suddenly showed worry. In his eyes, Brandon lying alone in the hospital bed was a big deal.

But clearly, when Hannah was in the intensive care unit, she also lay alone there.

Even when she passed away, Baldwin wasn't by her side.

After hearing Sylvia's words, he didn't even care about us and turned around to take her away.

Before leaving, he only left one sentence.

"As a mother, remember yo behave yourself!"

"As a mother?"

My Hannah was gone.

No one would call me mom anymore.

I could no longer restrain the urge to destroy everything in my heart.

I was eager to see Baldwin's reaction when he heard about his daughter's death.

Why was I the only one suffering in hell?

Baldwin, on the other hand, was still enjoying the joy of family life.

I stopped him and hoarsely said, "Baldwin, do you think your daughter Hannah, walking on the road to the netherworld, will be afraid?"
