Chapter 2
After I stayed here for a night, my body was dirty and smelly again.
The nurse advised me to go home and take a shower. I originally wanted to refuse. The nurse said that Sarah wouldn't like the smell of me being all stinky.
"That's true. Sarah loves cleanliness the most."
I kissed Sarah's forehead, went home to take a shower, and ordered new pajamas for her. When I subconsciously wanted to buy sanitary napkins for her, I remembered that she, who was pregnant, didn't need them at all. I was sad.
"Sarah is an angel."
"She is lively, cheerful, and helpful."
"She likes to take a bus to the city to buy a cup of coffee after 3 p.m. She often gives up her seat to the elderly during this time."
"She likes to drink latte coffee. After drinking it, she will pinch her stomach as if she regrets it."
"She loves coffee so much that she sometimes buys iced coffee even during her period. I feel sorry for her body. Once, I couldn't help but snatch her coffee and let her drink warm water. Then she was angry with me."
"Why would such a lovely girl be coveted and get pregnant?"
"No, it's not Sarah's fault at all. She is powerless to resist."
"I have to get rid of this bastard!"
I searched online for answers to the harm of having n abortion to a woman's body and how vegetative people have children. My mind was a mess. I thought, "I can't keep this baby. It is more important to find the culprit."
I proposed to investigate the male employees who had contact with Sarah. The dean, knowing that he was in the wrong, cooperated with me well.
I remembered that I had punched that guy in the face, so I calmly observed their faces to see if there were any scars. In the end, I found two.
The first one was Lamar Cash, a male nurse in the hospital. He was not in charge of Sarah. For some reason, he often came to Sarah's side. There was a bruise on his right cheek, which made him suspicious.
The second one was Zachary Foster. He, a young doctor in the hospital, would occasionally come to check patients around. He even praised Sarah for being beautiful.
As for the third person, I had been looking for it for a long time. His name was Asher Lee, our classmate from the university. His father was a patient here. I accidentally discovered a bruise on his face.
"Damn it, who could it be?"
"What do they want to do to Sarah?"
"At the thought of how they touch Sarah's skin using their dirty hands, I am nauseous. I wish I could kill them all."
Seeing my gloomy look, the doctor said, "Mr. Hawk, your girlfriend's condition is special, so we convened an emergency expert meeting. We are sorry to inform you that there is a high risk of performing an abortion for your girlfriend..."
I angrily said, "What do you mean? Are you asking her to carry the child for more time and give birth to that bastard?"
"Mr. Hawk, please don't get excited. Your girlfriend's uterine wall is thin. There is a possibility of heavy bleeding. We formed an expert group to solve this problem as much as possible."
In the ward, I looked at Sarah's face and touched her abdomen.
"It's amazing that such an angelic girl has a demon in her belly. And it can't be easily aborted."
"I'm sorry. I didn't take good care of you, my baby. You are the love of my life."
The doctor performed amniocentesis on Sarah, hoping that they could find the biological father of the fetus among the suspects.
Unfortunately, none of them fit.
"Who is that pervert?"
"I know I can't rely on the hospital. I can only rely on myself."
At night, I gave Sarah a new hairstyle and sprayed her favorite perfume on her. I told the female nurse to take good care of her while I pretended to be busy with work. Then I secretly hid in a cabinet in the hospital.
The cabinet was pitch black. I felt it was difficult to breathe, but I waited there quietly.
"I firmly believe that man will take action again while I'm not here!"
I didn't know how long I had been waiting. I was gradually getting tired to the point of exhaustion. It was probably because of a lack of oxygen that I fell asleep without realizing it. Then a faint sound woke me up.
I saw a man trying to push a hospital bed and take Sarah away.
"How dare he!"
I couldn't bear it anymore. I rushed out. I grabbed a stick that I had prepared long ago. Then I hit him hard and knocked him down.
I went crazy and kept hitting him. He quickly reacted and kicked me down.
His punches were so fierce that I felt like all my bones were about to break. My consciousness started to fail me. I pressed the call button with my last bit of strength and said weakly, "Catch him. Save Sarah..."
"Are you fucking crazy? The man shouted, "You psycho! You kidnapped my sister. What do you want to do to her?"
The world seemed to instantly quiet down.
Chapter 3
It was from Sarah's perspective.
My name was Sarah. I was 21 years old.
I came from a happy and harmonious family, with parents who loved me and a brother, who often argued with me but bought me night-time snacks.
My life was so beautiful, but I was targeted by a pervert named Brian Hawk.
If I had known earlier that I would run into the pervert at the freshman literary performance, I swear I wouldn't have shown up there for singing. Unfortunately, I was immersed in the joy of showing off and occasionally flirting with the audience below at that time.
My nightmare began because of that.
At first, I didn't notice someone was following me. Every time I went to the cafeteria to eat, I would encounter him, but I thought it was a coincidence. My roommate, Alice, reminded me, saying, "Why does Brian always sit next to you?"
"Is that so?"
I casually glanced at Brian, and he quickly lowered his head.
"He is from the electronics department with high scores on the SAT, but he doesn't like to talk. If it weren't for us working together in the library, I wouldn't know him," Alice whispered in my ear.
Alice was right.
Brian was short. He had messy hair. He wore glasses, making him ridiculous and look like an unpopular nerd among girls.
He wasn't my type, Alice teased me, saying, "He always looks at you. Do you think he likes you?"
"How could he possibly like me? You're making things up again. I will be angry!"
We were fooling around. Brian kept staring at us. I caught a glimpse of him blushing.
"He is blushing. Oh my god, is he sick?"
Later, whenever I had a meal in the cafeteria, I would always encounter him sitting next to me. Moreover, he would stare at me intently, which sent shivers down my spine.
I was angry, but there was nothing I could do. I could only stay in the dormitory and order takeout.
As soon as I breathed a sigh of relief, the nightmare came at me. He appeared during the physical education class! He appeared again!
He was staring at my chest not far away!
I had to pretend to be unwell and went to the library to study. Unexpectedly, I ran into him again! He even put a few books on my desk!
I dared not take his things and leave. I tried to minimize the time of going out, but I received inexplicable snacks. I dared not eat them, throwing them all in the trash can.
When I was working outside of school and distributing small gifts, he appeared too. He took the small gifts. His face turned red with joy. He wanted to say something to me, but I could only run away!
He wrote love letters to me. There was one from him every day, rain or shine.
What was even scarier was that he once wrote me a letter in blood! It scared me. More scarily, the rumors were getting worse.
Many people said we were dating. Even though I tried my best to do it, they didn't care. When I reported it to the counselor, the counselor said they wouldn't interfere in students' private affairs.
I felt so helpless, gradually losing my friends. Everyone was working so hard to make room for us, especially Alice, which saddened me the most.
He was like a devil, lingering around me.
When I encountered him on the bus, I endured it. When I encountered him in class, I endured it.
When I encountered him at a coffee shop countless times and saw him buying the same coffee as me, I still endured it.
When he snatched the coffee from my hands, I couldn't bear it anymore.
I went crazy and asked him loudly why he was following me. He said in a pitiful tone that I shouldn't drink cold drinks during my period.
"How did he know about my period?"
I felt a pang of chill down my spine.
I slapped him and ran out. I couldn't stand this kind of torture, so I took some time off.
When I thought I dared to face him and go to school, I was hit by a car unexpectedly.
In the moment of unconsciousness, I saw his twisted face.
I was shocked, why was it him?
