Chapter 3
Many more posts about my chaotic private life appeared online.
Some people even went to Owen with well-meaning advice.
"Mr. Bailey, Violet isn't suitable for you. You should be careful."
Luckily, Owen didn't disappoint me and retorted directly.
"She's not suitable, but you are?"
I heard that the girl ran away crying afterward.
It showed how much Owen's words hurt the girl's feelings.
Her impatience revealed to me who was behind the rumors.
My high school nemesis, Mila Simons.
5
Jealous of my good grades and popularity with boys, Mila opposed me constantly throughout high school.
She would either steal my homework and tear my textbooks behind my back, or distort the truth in front of the teachers.
When she saw that the teachers ignored her, she formed a small group to isolate me in class.
I came to school to study, not to form cliques and gangs.
Isolate me if you want, I didn't care to play with such ill-mannered people anyway.
To avoid trouble, I often went to my dad's dorm instead of staying in my own.
I thought we'd go our separate ways after high school and good days were ahead.
But to my surprise, she also ended up at the same university as me.
Although we weren't in the same major or class, her actions were still annoying enough.
Because of her, I was now being pointed at and gossiped about wherever I went.
"Look, that's the freshman who seduced the instructor!
"She really went all out to get the instructor's special attention."
"To be fair, that instructor is quite handsome, but he must be blind.
"I heard she moved out of her old dorm and now has a room to herself. Is it to make it easier to invite the instructor over at night?"
I shook my head helplessly. People with dirty minds see dirt everywhere!
But these shameless remarks did give me some inspiration.
A sudden idea came to me, and I deliberately had Emily spread the word.
"I really saw the instructor go to Violet's dorm!"
As soon as the news spread, Mila couldn't sit still.
Late at night, she sneaked to my dorm with her phone, looking around furtively.
I turned on my phone and deliberately played a video that could lead to wild imaginations.
Hearing the sounds, Mila was both surprised and delighted. She immediately rushed to the security office.
But when she burst into the security office, she was dumbfounded.
6
As the door crashed open, Mila screamed eagerly.
"Security! Someone's messing around in girls' dorm 302. Hurry!"
Her words got stuck in her throat when she saw who was sitting in the security office with the guard.
"M-Mr. Bailey?"
Mila was stunned.
Completely stunned.
Owen was supposed to be in Violet's dorm. How could this be?
She blinked, unable to believe it.
"What did you just say about dorm 302?"
"Dorm 302" Facing Owen, she stammered, unable to say a word.
She stole a glance at him and quickly changed her words, "N-Nothing."
After saying that, she turned to run.
"Stop!" Owen called out coldly.
The last time she came to him saying Violet wasn't suitable for him, he was already furious.
Now she was here spreading rumors again. Did she think he, as Violet's brother, was dead?
Mila was terrified, her body trembling slightly as she slowly turned around.
"M-Mr. Bailey."
Chapter 4
Mila spoke, her body and voice both trembling.
Owen, expressionless, said, "Did you just say someone is messing around in 302?"
Mila's brain worked rapidly.
She couldn't be wrong; the sounds coming from Violet's dorm were definitely those of intimacy.
If the person inside wasn't the instructor, then that meant...
She was messing around with another guy!
Realizing this, Mila's eyes lit up and she suddenly became excited.
She said eagerly, "Yes!"
"Please, come with me and take a look!"
She hoped to catch that little slut Violet in the act!
So Owen could see her true colors.
Completely break any thoughts he had of her!
"Alright," Owen agreed readily and even called a few security guards to join.
Mila was overjoyed and led the way proudly.
Nearing dorm 302, she suggested in a hushed voice, "You better not knock. Just break the door open."
"If you knock, it might alert the people inside and they'll jump out the window."
Hearing the commotion through the door, I couldn't help but laugh.
She was really quite smart.
But I wondered how she'd feel when the door was broken open and she saw her own intimate video projected on the wall.
7
The school had rules against barging into the girls' dorms.
Even the school security guards weren't allowed.
So Mila's suggestion was not accepted.
She stomped her feet anxiously, "I'm a girl. Can I just go in and take a look?"
This...
The guard looked at Owen, seemingly seeking his opinion, "This should be fine, right?"
Before Owen could respond, Mila impatiently rushed toward dorm 302.
To make it easier for her, I had unlocked the door in advance.
With a light push, the door opened.
She was overjoyed and deliberately opened the door wide, wishing the whole school could see.
The next second.
She froze in place, the smug smile on her face slowly fading.
Almost instinctively, she shut the door, afraid others might see.
I stood with my arms crossed, smiling as I watched her panic.
"How do you like the gift I gave you?"
Mila, having locked the door, glared angrily and lunged at me, cursing.
"Violet, I'm going to kill you!"
I easily grabbed her wrist.
"You want to hit me?"
With a brother in the military, I had learned grappling and martial arts techniques countless times.
"Want to fight me?
Naive!"
Mila seemed provoked by my mocking expression, her face contorted.
"I must kill you today!"
She struggled with one hand while raising the other to slap me.
I wasn't afraid at all and just moved my fingers slightly.
"Ouch!"
Her scream, as if she were being slaughtered, echoed throughout the floor.
Not to mention the security guards she had called.
All the other students who were sleeping were also awakened.
Everyone hurriedly put on their clothes and came out to see what was happening.
Meanwhile, the security guards and Owen, who were locked outside, were pounding on the door.
"Open the door quickly!"
The knocking grew louder, and the chatter of other students gradually joined in.
Mila, both angry and anxious, was on the verge of tears.
Those videos are still playing. If her classmates see them, how will she have the face to continue studying?
For the sake of face, she had to stiffen her hair and bow her head.
"What do you want?"
I laughed. "Not much."
"I apologize to you, please turn off the video."
I just laughed. "Is this the tone of begging?"
"I don't understand what you mean. What have you done to me that you want to apologize to me?"
Mila bit her lip.
I was not in a hurry and stretched my neck lazily.
The knocking on the door was getting louder and louder, and a security guard even threatened to kick the door.
Mila was in a hurry and had to admit, "I shouldn't have said anything about your high school life online."
She knew how to avoid the important issues.
But I didn't ask any more questions.
After all, once the door was kicked open and everyone saw the video, it would be suspected of being spread, which was also illegal.
I decided to quit while I was ahead, so I shook off Mila’s hand, turned around, and turned off the video.
"You're the one who found this person, so go out and explain yourself now. I'm going to sleep now, so I won't see you off!"
Mila had a worried look on her face. She slowly opened the door and walked out.
"I'm sorry, I made a mistake."
It was the middle of the night and she had to go to the security department for nothing. The security guard was naturally unhappy and sternly warned her not to do it again, otherwise he would report it to the school!
Mila was so scared that she kept promising that it would never happen again.
As for the students who ran out to watch the fun, they were sent back to rest, and the farce ended just like that.
I thought that after this consequence, she would be quiet for a while.
I never thought...
She didn't take the initiative herself, but instead sent some person to disgust me.
Chapter 5
8
The dorm door was pushed open.
Two former roommates barged in aggressively.
Nova said, "Violet, did you take Elena's necklace?"
I was speechless while applying sunscreen.
"Don't waste time talking to her, just find it!"
Before I could react, the two of them started ransacking the place.
They turned my wardrobe and bed into a complete mess.
Emily rushed in and frantically tried to stop them. "You're going too far! It's illegal to search someone's belongings without permission!"
Nova, with an arrogant look, said, "Stealing is illegal!"
"If she didn't steal it, why not let us search? What is she so guilty about?"
Emily was about to retort when a 'thud' sounded, something had fallen.
All four looked and saw a dazzling sapphire necklace lying quietly on the ground.
Nova exclaimed excitedly, "Elena, look, we found it!"
Elena ran over and held the necklace in her hand, unable to let it go.
Emily quickly stood by my side. "I believe the necklace is yours!"
I smiled.
"Of course, it's mine.
It was a limited edition I received on my eighteenth birthday, the only one in the world.
If it's a counterfeit, there are plenty of fake goods from Yewuu.
I just didn't know if Elena's lost necklace was real or fake."
"Violet, what do you have to say now?" Nova, feeling she had finally caught me, looked down her nose at me with arrogance.
I shrugged and spread my hands, "Nothing to say."
They boasted to Emily.
"See? She admitted it herself, and you still believe her? How stupid can you be?"
Emily was so angry she wanted to hit them, raising her fist, but I stopped her.
They thought I was scared and arrogantly raised their chins, full of provocation.
I didn't get angry. Instead, as they were about to step out of the dorm, I calmly added, "Call the police."
"What?"
Elena turned around, shocked.
Panic flashed through her wide eyes.
Nova, full of arrogance, screamed, "You still dare to call the police?
"If the school finds out about this theft, you'll be expelled!"
I nodded emphatically in agreement.
"That makes it even more necessary to call the police."
Elena became even more panicked.
9
The counselor arrived.
The security guards also came.
Elena took the initiative, claiming the necklace was hers and showed some photos as evidence.
For a moment, everyone's gaze towards me changed unknowingly.
Nova raised her eyebrow. "Violet, what else do you have to say?"
"Just starting school and already being dishonest, what will happen in the future?
"Teacher, this must be handled seriously!"
The students gathered at the door were also chattering.
"Oh my god, having a messy private life is one thing, but stealing?
"It's scary to be classmates with someone like that."
"So annoying! Can we expel someone with such bad behavior?"
Facing the crowd's chatter, the counselor's face grew more serious.
He asked me, "Violet, do you have anything to say?"
Before I could speak, a cold male voice came from the door.
He said firmly, "I can prove the necklace belongs to Violet!"
Everyone turned to look.
The person wasn't Owen.
It was Elias, famous for his flashy Ferrari.
Today, he was dressed in a beach vacation style, wearing sunglasses, looking incredibly handsome.
Many girls were instantly smitten by him.
"Wow, he's so handsome!
"He's perfect, except he's blind for liking Violet.
"Did he trade his brains for looks?"
Even the counselor looked at him more gently.
"Sir, what did you just say?"
