Chapter 2

"Why are you pretending to be so proud and powerful? You, a poor bastard, want to kick us out? Are you kidding me?"

The security guard didn't come, but Chris's mother, who was like an old witch, opened the door and came in, acting very arrogantly.

It was obvious at first glance that she thought her son had found a rich woman, so she started to act arrogantly too.

When I first started dating Chris, his mother, who looked down on others, didn't like me very much.

But I was blinded by love at that time, and thought that I was marrying Chris, not his mother, so it wouldn't be a big deal if she had some shortcomings.

Now I realized a bad mother couldn't had a good son.

I smiled coldly at her.

I didn't hide my contempt and disdain for her.

You say I'm poor?

How blind!

Lily seemed to be irritated by my reaction and rushed over angrily, "Why are you glaring at me?"

"Today is Chris's wedding day. I don't want to argue with you. Get out of here now and don't force me to fight you!"

"I didn't know that Ms. Evans was Chris's ex-girlfriend, and I paid her to be my bridesmaid..."

Vivian spoke softly, with purity and innocence all over her face.

Her pretentious look was really disgusting.

But stupid Lily and Chris loved it.

Chris comforted Vivian, "It has nothing to do with you, don't blame yourself."

Lily asked angrily, "How much? I'll give her the money and let her get out of here. We don't need her as a bridesmaid!"

Vivian's voice was soft and weak, but the provocation towards me on her face was clear.

"Three hundred dollars."

"What?" Lily laughed triumphantly.

"You are such a poor bastard? 300 dollars is important for you. I will give you 500 dollars. You can use the extra money to buy yourself some nice clothes. Look at the tattered clothes you are wearing. What a shame."

"Don't tell anyone outside that you know Chris. We don't want to lose face!"

Five green notes were crashed down on me, fluttering to the ground.

Lily folded her arms, looking very arrogant, waiting for me to grovel and pick up the money.

I looked up. "Since we are talking about money, let's settle the bill."

"In the past year or so, I have spent almost a million dollars for Chris. Repay me all."

"A million dollars?" Lily seemed to have heard a ridiculous joke.

So did Vivian.

Only Chris looked panicked.

After all, he was still wearing the entry-level Patek Philippe watch I gave him, which is worth three hundred thousand dollars.

When I bought it to him, in order to hide my identity and not to arouse his suspicion, I lied to him and said that the house in my hometown was demolished and gave my family five hundred thousand dollars as compensation.

At that time, he said that I was spending money recklessly, but he was so happy that I spent so much money for him.

Obviously, he didn't tell his mother about this.

Otherwise, why would Lily cause such trouble?

"You poor bastard, have you ever seen a million dollars?"

"How dare you say that you spent the money for Chris? Aren't you afraid of being punished for your lies?"

"On the contrary, you need to calculate the money Chris has spent for you over the past year!"

"Chris, I ask you to record your cost. Hurry up and take out the bills!" She reached into Chris's coat pocket.

Chris looked embarrassed, "Mom, don't do that."

"Why should we be so kind? We should use the money to feed the dogs instead of wasting for her.!"

Chris couldn't stop Lily, and he finally took out his cell phone and opened the memo with trembling hands.

Chapter 3

Lily snatched the phone away and started yelling, "On October 3rd, Chris took you to Yummy Restaurant for dinner and spent 342 dollars, on October 20th, he gave you a bouquet of flowers, 90 dollars, and on New Year's Day, he gave you a lipstick, 270 dollars..."

I was so angry that I laughed.

I spent thousands of dollars f or him, and even when I was later financially sanctioned by my family, I still worked everywhere to earn money to satisfy his vanity as a man.

He, on the other hand, never given me anything valuable, but remembered all gifts that only worth 10 to 20 dollars.

The decision to be the bridesmaid was right.

If Vivian hadn't cheated on me to take this job, I didn't know how long I would have remained in the dark.

Even if Chris hadn't cheated on me or hadn't had two girlfriends at the same time, this bastard is unacceptable!

By the way, I had to thank Vivian very much.

"The total amount is 13760.5 dollars, pay quickly or I will call the police!"

Lily calculated quickly and figured out the total in just a few minutes.

Every cent was counted.

I laughed angrily, "Okay, call the police."

"I'm not good at math, so I really need to find a professional to calculate the money I spent for him."

Chris was anxious, "Zora, don't go too far."

I stared at the watch on his hand. "You married rich Ms. Jones, but she didn't say she'd send you a more expensive watch?"

Chris was nervous and subconsciously hid the watch in his sleeve.

Vivian found his subtle movement, and she pulled his arm, "Didn't you say that you bought this watch with your own money?"

It seemed that she was not stupid and she knew the watch was expensive.

"It is fake. How could you believe what she said?"

"She took being a bridesmaid as job for 300 bucks, can she afford to buy me a real watch?"

In order to appease Vivian, Chris lied in a hurry.

"If it's fake, why are you still wearing it and not willing to take it off? Do you still?"

I smiled charmingly and deliberately provoked her, "Do you still love me?"

My words completely irritated Vivian. She pulled Chris's collar and got angry, "Tell me, do you still love her?"

Chris was filled with worry and was almost dying of anxiety. He tried his best to explain, "I didn't!"

I took the opportunity to step forward and asked, "Why don't you take off the watch and give it back to me?"

It’s 300 thousand dollars. I can’t allow the bastard wear it!

To Chris, the watch was the only thing that he could use to show off, so he was reluctant to give it back to me.

But facing Vivian's vicious eyes, he had to return it to me.

He took off the watch with great pain and threw it to me.

His eyes were so gloomy and cold, as if he wanted to strangle me to death.

I got the watch back, and Lily was still reluctant. When she wanted to continue making trouble, Chris stopped her.

He winked and said, "Mom, time is almost here. Our relatives and friends are still waiting outside, wedding is important."

"Yes, yes, yes." Lily stroked her hair. She had no time to argue with me and turned to comfort Vivian.

"Vivian, it's all Chris's fault for not judging people well before. I'm sorry to have embarrassed you."

Vivian smiled, looking well-behaved and sensible, "It's okay, I understand."

"You were born in a noble family, so you are so tolerant, unlike bitches who came from remote villages."

When he said this, he glared at me.

Then he ordered Chris, "Chris, lock her in this room first, so that she won't go out and talk nonsense! After the wedding is over, we will deal with her properly!"

Chris glanced at me, his eyes full of cruelty, "I know."

I didn't get angry, but laughed.

The good show was finally about to begin.
