Chapter 1

“Today’s your wedding day, Gianna!”

I spoke to my long-lost twin sister via the phone excitedly. I’m finally here in the grand hall where our respective packs will gather and where the wedding will be. I can’t control my excitement especially when this place is owned by my husband and mate, Alpha Paxton Rutherford.

A wedding is always a special day to attend, so I made sure I looked extra special today. I smoothened the skirt of my burgundy off-shoulder silk dress. Gianna mentioned that the theme of her wedding is burgundy and emerald green, so I also bought her a priceless emerald necklace as a wedding gift.

It was all out of the blue for my long-lost twin sister to invite me to her special day, but I love attending weddings and parties that’s why I immediately agreed to be here for her even when she just called me two days ago.

“Monica, you go first in the banquet hall,” my sister’s voice was crisp and smooth, “Are you wearing a red dress?”

“It’s burgundy, like the color of a red wine,” I whispered before I softly chuckled.

Gianna laughed on the other line. “It may be my wedding day, but I want you to look perfect too. I miss you so much, sister!”

“I’m already in the grand hall. I’ll be waiting for you here, Gianna.” Then I ended the conversation and called my mate, Alpha Paxton. “Hi, babe. I’ll be waiting for you here in the venue. Did you already tell someone to place two bottles of expensive wine on each table for Gianna’s wedding banquet?”

“Yes, love,” my mate replied. “I’ll be on my way there for a few minutes. I’m still taking care of pack matters.”

Paxton was happy that Gianna was getting married at the hotel he owned. In fact, Pax and I met here for the first time too! This place reminds me of the beginning days when our romance was just blooming.

“Don’t worry about me, babe. Just enjoy your time with your sister,” he added. “You know I’ll be there to personally congratulate Gianna and her mate. Also, I don’t want you to go to events like this alone. You know how protective I am of our little family.”

“I know,” and then I hung up.

As Gianna’s sister, I wanted her to shine at her wedding that’s why I thought of this lovely emerald and diamond necklace as a surprise.

Now that I'm here sipping wine, after a few minutes of waiting and wandering my eyes at the lush and lavish venue, I become restless. I feel out of place. I don’t know most of them and all the members of the Winterfang Pack kept staring at me as if I was their soon-to-be Luna.

Well, I do look like the bride. She’s my twin sister.

“Gianna, I'm here already. Where are you? I brought you a gift,” I said on the phone in an anxious voice.

“I'm still doing makeup, Monica. You'll see me in a minute or two. I've specially arranged for you to sit at the main table since I love you the most and I want everyone to be dazzled by your beauty!” Gianna exclaimed on the other line. She sounds so happy and her excitement is contagious.

I was deeply moved. Indeed this wedding hall was picturesque and to think this is where my sister and I will be reunited brings me so much joy.

Our parents are both Betas from a pack that has since long been dissolved that’s why were separated when we were young. I stayed with our father and she stayed with our mother. As a result, the two of us hadn't seen each other for more than ten years as far as I can count. Still, she’s my twin and I cherish her a lot.

Covering my mouth as I yawned, I stood and was about to get some refreshments when—

“Gianna, you bitch! How dare you show up here?” My hair was forcefully pulled by a male as he vehemently shouted at me.

“Uhmm—”

“You made me look like a fool on the day of our mating ceremony!”

I looked at him in the eye. In a heartbeat, I realized that the man was the groom. His clean face and tuxedo and the glinting trinket around his finger say it all.  “Alpha Miles?”

But he ignored me. “Today, I'll show everyone how cheap you are!” Alpha Miles’s angry voice kept getting louder and louder and it unsettled me.

“I don’t understand, Alpha and—and I’m not Gianna!”

“You cheated on me!” The Alpha bared his teeth at me. My wolf, Hera, growled and my eyes briefly turned golden.

“You want to challenge me?” He scoffed, “Fine. I will show you what must be done to cheating mates like you.”

His grip on my hair becomes tighter. He pulled my head with more force. I pushed him away, but I stumbled towards him and he grabbed my hair again. Now my head is tilted to the ceiling. His grip on me was so strong that I screamed for him to let him go.

At the same time, the Winterfang Pack became as confused as me.

“What's going on? Why did the Alpha pull our soon-to-be Luna’s hair as soon as he entered?” The one to my right wondered. “Is this mating ceremony still happening?”

A Beta tried to approach Alpha Miles and me to calm the tension between us, but the Alpha only snarled at his Beta. The latter remained where he was standing and lowered his gaze as if to silently obey the command Miles had probably mind-linked him.

The groom, Miles Reynes, Alpha of the Winterfang Pack, kept his grip on my hair as he dragged me onto the stage. I was in so much pain that my streaming hot tears already wet my dress.

When I tried to look up, ignoring my shaking feet as I stood on that stage, Miles propelled me down to the ground. I landed face-first.

I’m not only extremely embarrassed, I’m also fuming in anger. But I don’t know where to direct it. I still don’t know what’s happening and why is this happening to me. My tears just relentlessly pour out.

He shouted to all the members of the Winterfang Pack, “I don't care about my reputation anymore. I don’t give a fuck if I’m your Alpha and yet I’m doing this. All I want is everyone to see what a slut Gianna is!”

I still had no idea what was going on but as soon as I heard Miles calling Gianna’s name and her a slut...I broke away from the silence that pulled me down.

“What are you doing, Alpha Miles? What the fuck is happening?!” I demanded loudly.

Chapter 2

Alpha Miles slapped me hard. My sister’s mate and to-be husband slapped me fucking hard.

“How dare you ask, Gianna?” He shook his head in disbelief. “You really claimed to not know what you've done to me? What you’ve done to us?!”

My hand lifted to my face and covered my swollen cheeks burning in pain. I pointed a finger at him, “You've got it all wrong! I’m not her—”

Another slap landed on the other side of my face. Now I look like a fucking tomato with all these reddish cheeks.

He didn’t only slap me once. He did it twice!

“Wrong? Alright, if you're saying I'm wrong then I'll show everyone what kind of a mate you are.” I yielded a confused look but he ignored it. He pointed to a male in the corner, the same Beta that tried to intervene earlier, and shouted, “Play the fucking video!”

As soon as his order echoed in the hall, sensual moaning sounds filled the room. And there behind me, a gut-wrenching image of...of someone like me, naked. I was being fucked like a dog, the male was holding tight to my ponytail as pleading words of “harder” and “faster” escaped my lips.

But I know it wasn’t me. As Gianna fondled her own breasts on the video and looked directly at the camera as if seducing the viewer, the image of her being identical to me was so clear and vivid on the big screen of this supposed wedding.

‘This is a fucking nightmare,’ I thought. Hera just growled. I guess the Winterfang Pack and I are thinking the same thing: what's on the screen and what's being currently played is a fucking nightmare. It's almost impossible to believe that any of this is happening on a supposed special day.

‘Oh Moon Goddess, help me...’ I silently prayed.

And at the thought of the Winterfang Pack, I lifted my head to see if someone would help me. But no one did.

Do they really think it was me?

Many of the pack members at the scene quickly covered their children's eyes. I was even more dumbfounded by what I saw when I glanced back at the screen: Gianna was giving the man an oral act as she actively cooperated with what else the male wanted—as if she was an obedient dog. As if she wasn't a soon-to-be Luna.

As if she wasn't my sister.

Obviously, the male in the video was not Miles, the Alpha of the Winterfang Pack. His twisted, furious face definitely says it all.

I met Alpha Miles’s gaze again and all I beheld was the face of a mate who could snap his soon-to-be Luna’s neck with a single furious hand. He doesn’t even need to shift to his wolf form to tear her apart.

In my mind, I never expected that Gianna would do such a thing, let alone reveal that at her own mating ceremony. Yes, we hadn't seen each other for so many years. But this level of shock is not what I was expecting. This is more kind of disturbing!

Gianna’s sex video kept on playing and the packmembers kept cursing.

“You’re so shameless, Gianna!” A female Beta, judging by her scent, pointed her dainty fingers at me. “It's your mating ceremony today. How could you do this behind the back of the Alpha who saved you from the hands of a Rogue?!”

I gaped at the revelation. I never knew Gianna was once captured by a Rogue.

“I should have rejected you a couple of full moons ago.” Alpha Miles inhaled a sharp breath, “I’ve been an honorable male for you but all you did is parade your body around!”

“I’m sorry to what Gianna did to you. But I assure you, Alpha Miles, that—“

“Shut up!” He tipped his head to the ceiling for a heartbeat as if debating with himself, with his wolf, over something. “The Winterfang Pack will fall if I just let this slip off and allow you to become my Luna. Either way, I’m gonna beat you today, mate.”

I held my breath when he slowly approached me, plastering his face with a sadistic smile. Every step he takes is like a nightmare come true. At the sound of the word 'beat' ringing in my ears, I swallowed hard. I’m on the verge of vomiting on the floor. With Alpha Miles’ physical assault and my sister’s horrendous act on the video, no one will be saying their marriage vows today. No mating ceremony will be held today.

I glanced behind me again. As I watched the video for a few more seconds, clearly something was very wrong here.

Shit—

Everyone had mistaken me for Gianna!

“You got it all wrong! I'm not Gianna. I'm her sister. My name is Monica Windsor!” I quickly explained, panting and disregarding the aching of my throat.

Just as I thought that by saying this, they would realize that they really made a mistake and would finally deem me innocent, Alpha Miles Reynes of the Winterfang Pack slapped me in the face again. Not once, but twice on each side of my face!

“You cunt!” He laughed hysterically. “Do you really think I don't know whether you're Gianna or not? I even know every mole on your body and every scar on your skin. Now that you're a whore enough to do this, admit it.” Miles pointed to the screen, “You wanna deny it in front of a fucking solid evidence? You wanna deny it in front of the whole Winterfang Pack watching? Do you really deny it under the eyes of the Moon Goddess?!” The Alpha clicked his tongue in incredulity,  “Do you really expect me to believe that, huh, Gianna?!”

Miles pulled me up from the stage floor and dragged me directly to the big screen, putting my face next to my sister in the video. “Open your eyes and see who I’ve got here. And yet, she still dares not to admit it!”

“I have nothing to admit!” I blurted with a thundering voice.

He gripped my hair tighter. “Your name is no longer Gianna Windsor. Your name is now Gianna the Liar!!”

Chapter 3

Gianna and I are identical twins. We exactly have the same luscious golden brown hair and bright blue eyes. We looked so alike when our faces were put together and no one could tell the difference. Our only biggest difference was the fact that I already have a mating mark on the left side of my neck. She still hasn’t got one yet.

According to her, Alpha Miles will only give her the mating mark on the day of their honeymoon—after their mating ceremony and exchange of marriage vows.

The video was still playing, and every second of it drove my sanity to the edge of a cliff bit by bit. Alpha Miles had no intention of stopping it. That is his other way of torture.

I swallowed again as I tried to tear my gaze away from the screen, gulping down the nausea that threatened to escape out of me. I’m definitely emptying the contents of my stomach to the floor any minute now.

“Where are you, Paxton?” I tried mind-linking my mate—to no avail. I was shaking. I want to escape and run away. Far, far away from here.

Now that I'm trapped here with an angry Alpha beside me and his disgusted pack members in front of me...all I could hope was for my Alpha Paxton to show up soon.

Because I now realize I am not a guest of my sister in her motherfucking wedding. Gianna wanted and planned to let me take the blame for her infidelity, and she didn’t care if I walked out of this wedding alive.

My sister never changed. Even when we were adults, she still blamed me for her wrongdoings. When we were children, I was always her scapegoat. I was always the one she pointed at every time she broke something. I was always the one beaten by my Beta father, sometimes the Alpha of the pack where we came from. And Gianna will just watch, secretly slipping a smile on her face when no one is looking.

But this...what she’s doing to me...what she’s done to me—

I can only let my tears speak for myself.

“Today is the day where you will witness a mate taking the justice on his own hands against his unfaithful mate.” Alpha Miles turned to me and whispered, his nose flaring in disgust and wrath.“You’re not even wearing white because you know yourself that even your soul is already tainted, you shameless bitch!”

I looked down at my burgundy dress. “I told you I am not Gianna! Gianna is still doing make-up and she’ll be here any minute!”

But a female Omega stepped forward. “I’m the one who did her make-up, Alpha. I swear I saw her exiting the dressing room and wearing the same dress as hers. She is Gianna!”

Same dress...is that why Gianna asked me earlier on the phone if I was wearing a red dress?

I shook my head. I stared at Miles, tears lining the corner of my eyes. I was pleading like an Omega about to be whipped. At this instant, memories from my childhood began flashing before me and for once, I was back to being that helpless Beta’s daughter again.

“Bring me the silver chain,” Alpha Miles’s voice was low as he ordered.

“Alpha, don’t. That is too much,” spoke by probably one of the Alpha’s Betas.

“Just hand me the fucking chain!” His voice now made me flinched, and for once I debated running to the exit.

Berating and shaming me wasn't enough for Alpha Miles. He was willing to incapacitate me to punish me even more.

A silver chain glinted between his fingers not long after. Before I could draw breath, Alpha Miles tarnished the smooth skin of my wrists and locked the chain there—preventing me escape and shift. I lost contact with my wolf. With the silver chain in me, I can’t even mind-link Paxton or any of my pack.

Silver chains are mostly used by Alphas to capture enemies or punish the members of their pack who have done them wrong. Now...me being the Luna of the Silvernight Pack is useless. My Alpha is not here. And with the silver chain around me, Alpha Miles surely will not punish me just for an hour—he’ll do it in a day, or perhaps days. Worst, a week.

“LET ME GO! I’M A LUNA!” I shrieked angrily at the top of my voice.

He sneered, clenching his fingers into a fist. “Really? You've got some courage to say that to my face? Well, this is just the start of this wedding-turned-revenge show, Gianna, and the entire Winterfang Pack will enjoy this!”

Hearing this, I instantly became more frightened. From Alpha Miles’ eyes, I saw an Alpha hellbent on revenge. I see an Alpha hellbent on killing his mate and fiancée just for sucking someone else’s cock. “What do you want to do this time? I told you I’m not Gianna! Look inside my bag and you’ll find Gianna’s wedding invitation to me, her sister, Monica Windsor. You'll know after you see it!” Desperation laced my voice and I will not go down today without a fight. I tried to break free from the silver chains, but it just grazed my skin.

Whatever explanation I tried to hurl at them, Miles would not believe me. He will not listen to me at all. Now I wonder if Gianna ever told them about me or her having a twin sister.

He picked up my bag. Instead of doing what I said, he took out the emerald necklace I had prepared for Gianna as a wedding gift and hoisted it in the air.

“Gianna, who gave you this?” Miles was one step from slitting my throat with the claws he unsheathed. “You sold your body to another werewolf just because I couldn't afford this?!”

“I told you many times I am not Gianna!” I bared my neck to them and let them see my mating mark. “I am her sister. This mark is from my Alpha mate.” I paused and jerked my chin to the necklace. “That necklace is a gift for my twin!”

Miles chuckled, and that sound was like a villain’s laugh. Before I could blink, Alpha Miles snapped the necklace with bare hands and the little green emeralds fell to the ground. One by one, they fell like raindrops falling from the sky until it was only the diamond chain he was holding.

With the glare he gave me, I could see the thought of him strangling me with that shimmering diamond chain.
