Chapter 1

I was the only daughter of the richest man in Silverdawn and I was brought up in the Lucienne Family, an old friend of my family, from a child to now.

Paul, had long declared, whoever of his three sons married me would be the heir of the Lucienne Group.

In my past life, I chose Arnold, whom I had long admired and I didn't hesitate to use the manpower and financial resources of my family to push him to the throne of the new richest man.

But when he gained power, Arnold immediately locked me up in a mental hospital.

He bribed the doctors inside and subjected me to electric therapy and whipping every day. He also abandoned my one and only relative, my grandmother, in the wilderness and left her to die of dehydration and starvation.

Knowing all of this, I went crazy to fight against Arnold, but he asked someone to perform a craniotomy on me without anesthesia and cut off my frontal lobe to feed the dog.

"Have you finally experienced the pain of life worse than death? I've been going through this for ten years!"

"If you hadn't insisted on marrying me ten years ago, how could Scarlett have committed suicide?"

I died in pain on the operating table.

As soon as I opened my eyes, I was back to the day of choosing my husband.

——

"Tatiana, look at my three sons! Is there any of them catches your eye?"

In the front hall of the Lucienne Family's manor, Paul Lucienne sat in the main seat and smiled at me lovingly.

Since my parents unexpectedly passed away at a young age, I was brought up in the Lucienne Family, which had been my family's friend for several generations.

Paul and his wife, Natalie Lucienne, not only treated me as their own daughter, but also cared and loved me much more than their three biological sons and never let me suffer any injustice.

Apart from the long-standing friendship between the two families, the more important reason was, I, Tatiana Watson, was the only daughter of the Watson Family, the richest in Silverdawn.

So whoever married me would inherit the Watson Family's vast wealth and bussiness network that had been established in Silverdawn for over a hundred years.

In order to optimize both families' resources, Paul had announced to his three sons, whoever won my heart would be the next heir to the Lucienne Family.

In the hall stood three men in suits and leather shoes, all of them had sharp eyebrows, bright eyes and handsome face.

The other two brothers smiled at me with a calm and gentle expression, but Arnold Lucienne, who was standing on the far right, had a cold and stern expression, as if I owed him two million five hundred thousand dollars.

As I fell silent, I could hear the whispers of several servants in the hallway.

"Over the past few years, anyone can see that Ms. Watson truly has her feelings on the third son, Mr. Arnold Lucienne and she can't even hide her feelings."

"Yeah, she has given him watches, luxury cars and yachts since he was a child. Those items are worth at least billions of dollars, but Mr. Lucienne is still so cold to her and never even smiles at her."

Louder and louder they spoke until the butler of the Lucienne Family coughed lightly in front of the door and then they quieted down again.

Seeing me remain silent, Arnold's expression became even more impatient.

He folded his arms across his chest and glanced at me with disdain.

"It's time, why are you deliberately acting so arrogant? You're making the sons of the Luciennes seem like the dishes on your plate, you can pick and choose as you please!" said Arnold.

Paul's face darkened.

"Arnold, you're so rude to Tatiana, watch your attitude!"

Arnold snorted and turned his head away.

"Dad, you get me wrong. She can't listen to polite words, but can only listen to the harsh words."

There was a moment of silence in the hall. Paul's chest heaved violently with anger, but he tried his best to suppress it.

The reason was simply because I was there.

In the past decade or so, whenever Paul had any lessons or criticize against his third son, I would stand in front of him with tears in my eyes and ask Paul to let him go.

Or, I would plop down on my knees until Paul's anger subsided.

Just then he would feel sorry for me and try not to get angry in front of me.

So the entire Lucienne Family knew that I was Arnold's talisman.

Chapter 2

Arnold, no matter how much trouble he had caused, as long as he hid behind me, he wouldn't get beaten.

It was the same now. He glanced at the Patek Philippe watch I gave him on his wrist and said unhappily, "Can we go now? I have something else to do tonight."

I was well aware, the "something else" he mentioned was his appointment with his lover, Scarlett Johnson, to go to the movies and I even paid for the booking.

My heart felt even more choked up and I left speechless to think of my past love.

"Uncle, I've made up my mind."

I leaned closer and whispered a word to the middle-aged man.

He froze for a moment, then looked at me with surprise and joy and nodded three times in a row.

"The first day of next month will be a good day. I'll tell my wife to prepare well and give you an unprecedented and unparalleled wedding of the century."

He patted the back of my hand and tried to say something more, Arnold's sarcastic sneer interrupted.

"Why are you so confident, Dad? We might get divorced in a few years!"

Upon hearing these words, Paul immediately became furious and asked the butler to fetch the copper ruler.

When the butler brought the family's thick copper ruler, Arnold thought I would plead for him as usual and unconsciously glanced at me.

But I stood next to his father calmly, not even giving him a glance.

"Arnold, come and kneel down!"

Hearing his father's angry command, he finally showed some fear on his face.

After all, Paul came from a military background and had great strength in disciplining them since childhood. Before I came to the Lucienne Family's manor, I heard he made a big mistake and refused to admit it, so Paul beat him until his bones were broken.

But he didn't want to plead with me directly, so he walked over slowly and knelt down.

He slowed down his movements four to five times, giving me ample opportunity to dissuade his father.

Just as Paul raised the copper ruler high, I suddenly reached out and shouted.

"Uncle, wait a moment."

Arnold had already his eyes closed out of fear, but when he heard me stop his father, he opened his eyes. He thought that I still couldn't bear to see him get beaten and secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

He didn't expect me to say, "For these years, I've spent more than a billion dollars on Arnold."

"There are gifts that I gave him voluntarily, as well as money he borrowed from me several times."

"It's not a big sum of money actually, but since he says in front of others he will pay me back, so it's better to pay them back to me before I get married to avoid gossip and criticize."

Hearing his third son borrowed so much money from an orphan like me, Paul's face immediately darkened.

"You don't need to worry, Tatiana. No matter how much he borrows you, I'll pay them back to you double, no, triple!"

"It's just that I need to teach this brat a lesson. You're too gentle and soft-hearted to see such a fierce punishment. So you'd better stay away."

I nodded obediently and left. Before I even stepped out of the main hall, I heard the sound of the heavy copper rulers hitting from behind and the screams of Arnold.

Compared to the evil things he did to me in previous life, I didn't feel any pity for him in my heart, I just felt relieved.

After dinner, I was taking a pleasant walk in the garden when I heard a low cry coming from the corner.

I saw Scarlett throwing herself into Arnold's arms deep in the flowers stand, crying.

"Arnold, I think Ms. Watson is jealous of our relationship. She deliberately complained and blamed you, which is why your dad punished you."

He gasped in pain, but hatred flashed in his eyes.

"Scarlett, don't be afraid. In a few years, when I take over all the Watson's property, I'll immediately kick that vicious woman out and I'll be with you forever and ever."

Chapter 3

How funny! He still thought he could be with me now.

Scarlett had an even happier expression on her face.

"Arnold, you're so wise and sensible, I didn't choose the wrong person."

The two of them hugged each other, doing shameless things in the darkness.

Just when they were deeply in love, my footsteps disrupted their actions.

"You?"

As soon as Arnold saw me, he glared at me.

"Go! I don't want to see you! No matter how much you beg me, I won't forgive you!"

The disgust in his eyes was evident in his words.

Scarlett was a bit reserved at first, but when she saw it was me, she stopped pretending.

She leaned in the man's arms, her eyes full of provocation.

"Tatiana, please don't get me wrong. Arnold was punished for some bad things before. I'm just helping him to get rid of the swelling and pain!"

She put her hand on his shoulder again.

"By the way, do you know why he was punished?" she asked me in a sarcastic tone.

I was just passing by. I had nothing to say to these two lunatics.

But since she jumped on my face, how could I let her go?

"Is that so? I don't know if the swelling and pain on his body has disappeared, but it seems like your mouth is swollen?" asked me back with a sneer.

She instinctively covered her mouth.

"As for why he was punished, I believe you will soon know, because the things he bought for you were all spent on my money!"

I gave a contemptuous smile.

Arnold and Sacrlet, two useless blood-sucking worms, how dare you jump around in front of me?

I admitted, I was indeed love-brained.

But if after the warnings from my previous life, I still didn’t know how to cherish life, then I was just brainless!

Arnold's face turned pale.

"Tatiana, stop pretending, aren't you just trying to get my attention? Do you think I'll compromise if you ask me to pay you back?"

He gritted his teeth as he stared at me.

"Every penny you spent on me was voluntarily spent by you. I don't know how you have the nerve to ask me to pay you back and you still want to harm Scarlett!"

"I admit, you won, you won completely, but it's useless for you to get my heart. You can't get my heart away."

Looking at the man's ferocious face, I just realized that he wasn't joking when he said these words.

"You can try to see if I can make you pay a penny less," I said.

I didn't want to listen to his stupid words more, so I just left.

His arrogance made me ashamed. I feel ashamed of why I fell in love with such a guy in my past life.

The next morning, I went back to my house to visit my grandmother, Herrieth Watson.

As soon as I saw my grandmother, I held her and cried for a long, long time.

The greatest meaning of rebirth was to be able to see my grandmother again.

I had lived in the house for a long time. I spent day by day talking to her a lot and joking around.

I didn't return to the Lucienne Family until a week later.

As soon as I returned to the Lucienne Family's manor, I saw Arnold coming out of my villa.

"When did you change the password? Who allowed you to change it? I can't even get in!"

He looked much better than the day I left.

I frowned and replied, "Do you think my villa is a place you can step in and out as you please?"

He snorted coldly.

"I don't know what you're pretending to be, but I've already asked someone to unlock the door and take the things away, so I'll barely let you go this time!"
