Chapter 5
❤️ The Promise Made ❤️
"I am sorry, Dark. It's just that the chil-"
Interrupting her abruptly.
"It's King!" Dark snarled at Amaya, showing his teeth which began growing in size, his horns puffing out dark smokes. The sharp-pointed head of his spear made of gold also buried itself on the ground beside the chair he was sitting on.
"I am sorry, my King." Amaya apologizes as she slowly moves back away from the child she was holding herself from putting an end to the life in her.
"Come here." Dark gesture with his hand for Raziah to come. His teeth going back to their normal size, his horns seizing it's smoke.
Slowly getting up to her feet, Raziah approached the man.
"Why are you here?" Dark asked, staring into her eyes.
"I am here for my mother. I was told she is here by one of my father wives." Raziah answered.
"And you've seen her?" Dark asked, pushing off the ladies that were trying so hard to get his attention. Somehow, the little girl grabs all of his attention and he couldn't tell why.
"Yes, could you tell them to stop what they are doing to my mother." Raziah responded and without looking she pointed at the direction her mother was.
Looking at the direction she was pointing, and saw one of his demons fuc.king the woman. "Stop, get away from her." Dark said to the demon which surprised everyone. Facing Raziah again. "Is that all?" He asked.
"Yes, that's all. Thank you, my King." Raziah thanked.
"Tell me, what's your name Child?" he asked, striding towards her and stopping when he was close. He bent down to clean the blood that coated the side of her lips with his right index finger, smelling it and eventually licking it, then closed his eyes in pure bliss.
"Raziah, I'm the king's daughter." she answered, squeezing her face when she saw him licking her blood.
Nodding his head. "You smell heavenly Raziah like..." he paused and remembered he was talking to a child and smiled instead straightened up to his feet smiling down at her.
"What does it mean?" Raziah asked, tilting her head to look at the man before her, he was tall like a mountain, she hoped she would get tall like him. And also hiding the fact that she was in pain from whatever Amaya had done to her.
"It means you have a unique scent to me Raziah. You and I are going to be best friends." Dark answered her. He still couldn't get her scent off him.
"Really? You will become my friend?" Raziah asked eagerly.
"Yes you are my friend now, I didn't kill you so yes we are friends." He responded.
"So now that you are my best friend, will you protect me and my mother from my father?" Raziah requested.
"From your father? Why?" Dark question in curiosity.
"I am scared of him, my mother is scared of him. I don't know how to keep my mother safe from him but you are my best friend right, and you are like a king over us, right? I see how you commanded your demons and my father. You will protect us from him, right?" Raziah, waited with bated breath for his answers.
"Child, I will protect you and your mother. But you know, most times I will be so busy and I can't be protecting you always, so..." he paused and walked back to his golden spear. "Let me tell you, the day you lift up my spear will be the day you can stand up to anything or anyone. So I am giving it to you. See it as a gift from me." Dark apprise her.
"That," Raziah pointed at the golden spear. "Will take me ages before I can lift it up and my father can't wait until then. Best friends should always be there for their friend, right? My mother is my best friend and she is always there for me, won't you be there for me." Raziah query.
"I will." Dark answered and once again closed the distance between them, one of his hands went behind Raziah's right ear, bringing the hand to show her. "Look what I found for you," he said, showing her a dark average shell on his hand. "This is my second gift to you Raziah. Whenever your father threatens you or your mother, just whisper to it 'Help me Dark' and I will come running from wherever I am to save you and your mother. Okay?" he told her, giving her the shell which she gladly collected from him.
"Thank you." Her face lit up in smiles.
Patting her head. He looked at Amaya and gestured with his head, moving it to one side. "Let's go." he told her and a dark portal opened also immediately before he could finish those words. He was about to enter the portal when Raziah grabbed hold of one of his fingers stopping him.
"Promise me that when I whisper the words you will come and help me and my mother." She uttered.
"I give you my word Raziah." Dark said wanting to get out of here and from her scent.
"No, I want to hear the word Promise from you." Raziah remained adamant.
"Oh, okay. I promise, I will come running." Dark promised.
Smiling widely and letting go of his finger. "Remember, a King never goes back on his promise." She informed him.
Without another word he entered the portal.
"You heard him, leave the bit.ches you are screwing and let's get out of here." Amaya told the rest of the demons.
And soon enough, they entered the portal Amaya had open leaving Raziah and the naked wolves behind.
__
Dark Castle:
"Why did you save that girl? I could have killed her if you hadn't intervened." Amaya queried once when she was alone with Dark in what looked like his throne room. "She is the daughter of the man you loathe with every thing in you. The man responsible for everything." She reminded him.
"She is just a child Amaya." Dark replied.
"Well the last time I checked, you would even join me in killing a child. Why did you spare her Dark?" Amaya demanded. "And the fact that you even licked her blood irritates me."
"I don't know Amaya. She has a unique scent and I don't know if it is because of her blood. It tasted sweeter than $€x or should I put it in the same category as $€x." Dark answer with a shrug. "I don't know why I did that."
"And what about the promise you made to the little girl? The shell and you even left her with your golden spear," Amaya said with a tight lips. "What I have been pleading with you to give me since."
Dark laughed as if what Amaya had said was funny, he stopped laughing after a minute to say. "Promise? What promise are you talk about? Don't tell me you believed what I told that child. I was merely playing along with her. I love crushing the hopes of people Amaya. It's my thing."
Amaya smiled as if that's the best news she has ever received. "What about your spear and the shell you gave to her then?" She asked.
"She can't lift up my spear if that's your concern and for the shell I know what to do so that shouldn't be your worry." Dark notified her.
"So you won't be keeping your promise then?"
"A King never gets to keep his promise Amaya. She will learn that on her own."
Soon enough, one night, he heard the whimpering whisper of the girl calling out to him for help and he ignored it. He has important things to do and running to save a child wasn't what he planned on doing.
He didn't keep to his promise.
End of FLASHBACK:
"Why are you reminding me of her, of that name I had forgotten." Dark query with raised brows.
"Like I said, you won't believe what happened."
"What happened? Is she dead?"
"No, but she was the one who had fought against our demons. She killed all of them and didn't spare anyone, though one of your demons escaped and ran here to inform me." Amaya reply.
"Does that mean she is strong now?"
"Yes, she is strong now. The child we met that night was just an ordinary child, a princess. We didn't smell any power from her, right? So I don't know how she became strong now."
"Why would you say she is strong? Just because she managed to kill one thousand out of my millions demons doesn't make her strong, it was just luck."
"Could you believe I shot her one of the arrows of agony and she shot back her own arrow at me. If I didn't stop the arrow it could have pierced my forehead. And do you know the most interesting part? I was standing closer at the bank of the river when she shot it from the Hobgoblin Kingdom and it came right towards me, unbelievable right?" Amaya explained.
"It was just a coincidence Amaya, don't think about it too much." Dark shrugged off.
"How could she know I was standing at the spot I was?" Amaya queried.
"People tend to get lucky and Raziah is one of them." Dark said, going to the wardrobe in the room to put on some clothes.
"Maybe, and one more thing Dark, she used your golden spear to kill your demons." Amaya finally dropped the bombshell.
That stopped him right on his track and he turned around to look at Amaya in shock and did not bother to hide it. "Impossible. Apart from me no one else can remove the spear from the ground, not to talk about lifting and carrying it up." He finds it unwilling and unable to believe it.
"But she did and she used it to fight with it against the demons."
"Impossible," Dark said again. His eyes moved around in the room. "Unbelievable." he added a second later.

❤️ Broken Promise (Part 1) ❤️
"Unless you make it not too hard for the girl to pull out whenever she wants." Amaya told him. "That can only be the explanation behind this."
Still finding it hard to believe. "I didn't make it easy for her, you know me, I would have told you that night."
"If you didn't then how come she carried your Golden spear?"
"I will find out the answer."
"You are planning to pay her a visit, right?"
"Yes, besides, apart from that night we haven't crossed the Werewolves kingdom but u will be going there to see if what you said about her is true," Dark said and Amaya smiled. "Leave, I need to think without disturbance."
"Dark, if you ever need someone to talk to, just know that I am one step behind you. I am always here to listen."
"Leave Amaya."
Amaya quietly left the room leaving Dark to his thoughts.

Hobgoblin Kingdom:
Raziah screamed out in rage when no more arrows were shot. Staring at the place the demons were before made her start growling.
Destroying the first demons had made her think Dark, wherever the hell he is, will come out to confront her but she got none. Now a few years later another set of demons had come out to attack and someone somewhere had made sure she got no lead to where the man she wanted to drive her sword into his beating heart.
One day, just one day, Dark will come out from the hole he is hiding.
"My horse." She didn't need to repeat or say the words aloud when some Hobgoblin hurried up to bring the horse to her. Taking the reins forcefully from the male Hobgoblin, nearly scratching off his skin from his fingers. She climbed her horse, and without another word and gallop out of there faster.
"Well at least she kept to get own end of her bargain," the Queen of Hobgoblin said as Raziah was soon out of her sight. She turned and returned to her chamber. Her handmaid rearranging her hair. The only light coming from the room was from her candle at a corner of the room. "I wonder why she is angry instead of her rejoicing that she succeeded in killing the demons that I paid her for with my money and kingdom." she added.
"Maybe she is angry at whoever killed those demons she had spared." her handmaid chips in.
"True but I am glad that out problems has been solved." The Queen of Hobgoblin said, resting her head on the pillow and doze off. Her handmaid finished rearranging her hair and left the room silently.

The Wolf Kingdom:
The only time her horse came to an absolute halt was when she reached the palace.
One of the guards quickly took her horse reins from her as she walked angrily inside. Dropping her spear on the ground, the guards around will pick it up and take it back to where it is being kept.
She immediately went to the dining area and sat down at the head of the table. Some servants came to serve her food.
No one spoke or made a noise, they could see that she was in a bad mood.
Five minutes later, Barwolf and his three wives all made an appearance and each went to sit on the chairs available at the table. No one said anything as they watched Raziah eating. The only noise coming from the dinning room was the clattering of her spoon on the plate.
Her dark eyes slowly replace the violet ones.
Raziah had made the rules for them to always be present whenever she was eating, failure to do so, would result in punishment. DEATH.
At first they had thought she was joking until she killed Sari, the fourth wife of Barwolf, mercilessly in front of them. Ever since then they never fail to show up. And Raziah is always fond of eating late, probably to punish them or to force them into breaking her rules so that she could hurt them. They noticed hurting them always brings smiles to her face.
"How did it go? Were the demons able to come?" Barwolf asked, breaking the silence that had engulfed them. Barwolf waited and waited for Raziah to respond but got none. He sighed slowly waiting for her to finish eating so that he could go back to his bed.
"You want to know if they succeeded in killing me, right?" Raziah asked and drank water and kept the cup at the table and stared at her father coldly. "Too bad, it didn't happen and it can never happen. They were not a match for me." she added proudly.
"I didn't mean that Raziah. I was just trying to b-" he didn't get to complete his words before she Interrupted him.
"When do you think Dark will pay us a visit?" Raziah asked.
"Were the demons sent by him?"
"Was that the question I asked you?"
"I'm sorry Raziah," Barwolf apologized to his daughter. "Dark comes whenever he wants at any time. We should pray that he never visit this kingdom again."
"I want him to come. He has to come. He should come, I have been waiting for him for a very long time. It is very wrong to keep me waiting." Raziah said and stood up to her feet and left the dining room without another word.
"If only you were content with me, we wouldn't be in this mess," Faith (Barwolf first wife) said. "I married a King but I didn't know that in the future he would be reduced and given a lowly position. If not that your daughter had threatened me I would have left you the day she defeated you." she added.
"You are not the only one on this boat Faith," Kate said and Ama nodded her head in support.
"Don't remind me of what I had forgotten."

Unknown Place:
"Isn't it time yet. She is grown up now." a woman's voice could be heard. Her hair was purely white. "I need what was given to her and Dark. It belongs to me."
"Not yet, just be a little bit patient. We need Dark to commit a mistake to have the girl on our side, remember the plan." A man's voice could be heard. He was covered in dark mist , his whole body wasn't seen.
Chapter 7
❤️ Broken Promise (Part 2) ❤️
"I remember but you know it's been long. I keep hearing 'be patient' 'be patient' but for how long will I continue to be patient?" the woman asked the dark mist and began pacing around in what looked like a cave.
"I am just as impatient like you too but what will I do? Patience is the only thing we have to hold on to. Showing yourself will ruin everything." The man covered in dark mist told her.
The unknown woman heaved out.
"Fine," she said, tightening her lips. "Fine then." She added again.
"Keep preparing your body for the powers." the man said and immediately the black mist was gone leaving the woman alone. Sitting down and crossing her legs and closing her eyes, a few minutes later she was a rock statue which merged with the rock behind it.
****
Wolf Kingdom:
"We will keep reminding you every day of our lives." Ama told him.
Without another word he stood up and went to his room leaving his three wives behind.
His heart was heavy. How the might has fallen.
___
Raziah slammed her room door hard behind her.
She was still angry but the one person who she wanted to rip out his heart wasn't close and her father, she couldn't hurt him.
"Where are you, Dark?" she asked no one. "Where can you be hiding?"
Her hatred for him began the night she needed him the most. The night that changes everything. The night she felt helpless against her father, the first time. She hates him.
'Thinking and hating about your past won't make what you went through go away.' Violet, her wolf, told her through their mind link. 'It won't change the fact that he didn't come to save you, plus, that was the night you discovered your wolf, me.'
'I can't seem to forget that night no matter how hard I try violet. I am trying my best but I can't stop thinking about it."
'You had so much hope that he would show up but he didn't show up. You've got to stop dwelling in the past Raziah.'
'Maybe if I kill him and my father I will have my peace.' Raziah told her Wolf. Dark didn't keep to his promise. He had broken the promise he made to her.
'Maybe. Try to get some sleep Raziah.'
Her wolf went silent after that.
Smiling at no one, Raziah started removing her clothes one after the other. Her back was covered in various scars that ran down to her a$$. Her father had always used a sword to beat her whenever she interfered or pleaded with him on her mother's behalf.
The wounds had long healed but the scars had marred her back.
Feeling tired, she lay down on her bed and slept off.
*
*
The next morning she got up and went to the house where her mother's corpse was.
The servants had already set warm water in the wooden bucket and a hand towel in it.
She began cleaning her dead mother.
"How are you doing, mother? Did you sleep well?" she asked the pale cold body. "I didn't sleep well last night but I'm used to it. Yeah I know I have to be strong for myself and myself." she added and kept quiet for a minute then nodded her head as if the dead body was speaking. "I know that mother, I won't hurt him but I will always punish him for what he put you through and me." a smile appeared on her face. "I do eat to keep me alive and going. Yeah, I know, I love you too, mother."
No one understands this, but she hears her mother speak.
Once she was done. She pecked the forehead of the dear woman. "I will be visiting the Vampire kingdom today mother, wish me well."
She left the room and told one of the guards to clean up the room and sent one to call Barwolf for her.
"Good morning. I was told I was needed." Barwolf said to his daughter. The guard that woke him up didn't give him a chance to dress up. He forced Barwolf out of his room with his underwear. Guards, mere guards who wouldn't and tremble at his feet.
"Yes, I did Barwolf." Raziah answered. "Where do you think Dark will be staying? Where can I find him?"
"You can't find him anywhere, no one has. He comes and goes like he wants." Barwolf told her.
"Why is he feared?" Raziah asked. She has never asked this question before but something in her feels like she will be meeting him soon and knowing some things about the man will be an advantage to her.
"Because he is the son of the five Princes of Hell. He is mysterious, you don't want to mess with him or get on his bad side." Barwolf answered his daughter.
"So? Because he told you all that he is the devil child and you all believed him?" Raziah said, rolling her eyes at her father. It had only taken her one Kingdom to defeat (the giant kingdom) for the rest of the other kingdoms to fear her. The fear in their eyes when she had defeated those demons and had conquered the giant Kingdom pleased her. She loves seeing the fear in their eyes when they see her but Dark, he had only told them and they believed him. How foolish of them.
"He didn't have to say it twice or prove it Raziah. He showed us."
"How?" Raziah demanded, one of her eyebrows raised.
"You wake up every morning to clean your mother up. You take good care of her."
Cutting him short.
"And what has that got to do with what I asked you?" She asked with a glare.
"You can do everything to help your mother but him, he killed his mother's people. He killed every dragon and did not spare even one. How can a sane person kill every member of his mother's people? What he did with the dragon kingdom, when we heard of it. We became scared and didn't want him to destroy our kingdoms so we all agreed. He is deadly." Barwolf explained.
"I still see no reason why he is feared." Raziah shakes her head.
"He buried the entire Dragon Kingdom with water." Barwolf told her, closing his eyes.
Raziah's eyes widened and then narrowed it to him.
"The same way I should have buried you since," Raziah said which prompted Barwolf to open his eyes. "One day, I will pay deaf ears to my mother and kill you." she added with a darker look and Barwolf had to move back. "Go and clean up my room."
Without saying another word he ran back inside the palace building.
Dark is strong, no doubt, but so is she. Raziah thought to herself. She dares him to come out from his hiding place and face her.
Come out. Then the blue sky began to darken.
***
Dark Castle:
Dark was seen putting on a black tunics that was his waist length and trouser and his boot in his room.
Amaya walked inside the room and met him dressed up.
"Where are you going?" she asked, surprised.
"To meet Raziah."
"Why?" Amaya demanded in surprise.
"Raziah has my property and I am going back to collect it from her."
"She is now a fighter; she won't give you the Golden spear willingly."
"I don't care. I will kill her to get back my golden spear if I have to."
"But it is morning already, can't you wait until it's dark for us to go? We are made for darkness. Demons can't come out in the morning." Amaya reminded him.
"And I don't need anyone's permission to step out in the sun. You can't step out but I can Amaya, that's the difference between us." Dark told her.
"You are going to hurt yourself Dark, the day doesn't favor us, please listen to me and-"
Interrupting her.
"Amaya!" he shouted which fling her backwards with more force and Dark quickly entered his dark mist and appeared behind Amaya stopping her from hitting the wall. It wasn't because he didn't want Amaya hurt, it's because he likes that wall. It has mirrors which shows his impressive heights and muscles and not to mention his handsomeness.
He let go of her immediately.
"Don't you ever tell me what to do. You're just a friend and my commander. Just because you became close to me and I allow you to walk inside my room like you please shouldn't give you the right to give me an order. Do I make myself clear?" His lips didn't move.
"I am sorry." Amaya apologized with her head down.
Checking himself on his mirror, his black mist surrounded him and the only one in the room was Amaya who started screaming in anger.
