Chapter 1
The day has come for Fay, the day that she was supposed to meet her soulmate and true love. Werewolves held a mating ceremony each year for young werewolves that have come of age to find their fated mates. Each werewolf could find their mates from the age of twenty as was Fay's age.
Their five Lycan leaders or The Five as they were called attend the ceremony each year to celebrate with fellow werewolf citizens. They ruled their werewolf lands with iron fists and maintained the peace. They were Alpha Nathan, Alpha Sloan, Alpha Wyatt, Alpha Mason and Alpha Clause. Alpha Clause was known to be very fierce and strict that no one dared to cross him.
Fay was walking down the stairs of her parent's two story building with her best friend, Amy to attend the mating ceremony.
"I can't believe that we are finally going to find our mates! And we're going to see The Five up close too!" Amy squealed as they landed on the ground, making Fay laugh at her happiness.
Her excitement was contagious and Day was also excited to finally find her mate. She wanted to meet her other half and have pups of her own. "Yeah, but it's happening and we're going to enjoy it."
"Running off without saying bye?" Fay's dad, Thomas said with a grin on his face as he came out of the kitchen which was beside the stair case.
Fay grinned back at him as she knew he was joking while Amy let out a small laugh. "Of course not dad, we were just about to look for you."
"That's my girl!" He exclaimed and enveloped her in a hug then released her to ruffle Amy's hair in a playful gesture. "You're my girl too."
"Thanks, Mr. Thomas." Amy replied with a grin as Fay moved to enter the kitchen, but the doors opened and her mom, Selene walked out wearing an apron.
"Fay, is it time already?" Selene asked as she came to stand in front of her.
"Yes, mom. We're about to go to the town square for the ceremony." Fay answered as she smiled at her mom.
Selene wrapped her arms around her too and sighed, "I hope you find your mate there."
She released her from the hug and hugged Amy too, adding, "Both of you."
"We hope so too." Fay replied and Amy nodded with a large smile.
Fay looked at her dad and mom as she said, "We have to go now so that we won't be late. See you when we come back with our mates!"
"Bye, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas!" Amy added.
Thomas and Selene replied to them both,"Bye, see you then!"
Fay nodded as she and Amy turned around and rushed to the door. They closed it after coming out of the house. Amy hooked her arm in hers and pulled her to walk faster to the town square which was only a block away from Fay's house. They passed houses on the streets that looked like Fay's house and some shops that were bustling with people.
"I wonder who my mate would be, would he be like I imagined? Handsome, tall and toned?" Amy said as she almost skipped in her steps out of excitement.
Fay let out a laugh, "Or he could be ugly, short with a pot belly or skin and bones."
Amy laughed too at Fay's joke as they rounded the corner to the street that led to the town square. As she looked around at the people going in the direction they were going, Fay said, "Looks aren't everything, sure we want a gorgeous mate, but we also want one with a kind heart and good personality."
"Yes, yes, I know, but if he has a good personality and doesn't have a gorgeous appearance, I doubt I can love him." Amy replied with a frown as they watched people gather in the town square.
"He's your soul mate and fated love, you have to love him no matter what." Fay let out a chuckle as they reached the town square where the people talked amongst themselves. A stage was set up at the front with five chairs there.
"Yeah, you're right, but I hope we get all the package. Looks, personality and status."
"Me too." Fay replied just as five limos pulled over and the doors opened at the same time.
Both of the girls' attention went to The Five that each came out of their own limo. The five Lycan Alphas were all so good looking and toned that all the girls had their eyes on them. They moved through the crowd with grace and powerful auras as everyone there cheered for them.
They climbed up the stage using the steps on the side and made their way to the front of the stage to address the werewolves. Alpha Mason stood on the left, then beside him stood Alpha Nathan. Alpha Clause was in the middle with Alpha Wyatt beside him and Alpha Sloan on the far right.
Alpha Mason was known to be the oldest and was the one that usually spoke in these ceremonies. He raised his hands in a welcoming gesture with a friendly smile on his face, "Welcome, young wolves. We are elated to be here with you on the day you are to find your mates and be complete. May the mating ceremony begin!"
Everyone cheered again as Alpha Mason brought out a red stone from the inside of his jacket and turned to the other Alphas as they held it out to them. The crowd quieted down to watch in awe as the other four Alphas placed their hands on the red stone. The stone started glowing and the four took their hands off, leaving it in Mason's hands. It was still glowing in the night as he placed it on the podium on the stage.
The red light from the red stone suddenly glowed to the sky, hitting the moon. The sky became orange mixed with the dark blue of the night sky and all the werewolves started humming a tone as they started looking for their mates among the crowd.
Chapter 2
What the Alphas did with the red stone was what made werewolves find their mates. So as soon as the red light hit the moon, every werewolf there started feeling a pull towards their mates. The need to find her mate increased inside Fay as her eyes turned red like the stone and every werewolf's eyes there.
She didn't know where Amy had gone because she was too busy trying to find her mate as the red moon guided her. She heard other werewolves murmur 'mate' to each other as they found their mates.
As her eyes moved through the crowd, she felt them suddenly snap to Alpha Clause on the stage like someone had turned her head to look at him. He was already looking at her and their gaze locked. She couldn't pull away from his gaze as she felt so drawn to him, she wanted to run to him and mark him then and there. From the look in his eyes, he felt the same way.
Alpha Clause walked down the steps of the stage, still holding her gaze and made his way to her as the crowd parted for him. The other four Lycans watched in wonder and hope as he made his way to Fay. She felt her heart beat faster as he stopped in front of her. His dark eyes staring into her currently red ones as he murmured one word that would bind them together for eternity.
"Mate." Alpha Clause husky, deep, sensual voice said.
"Mate." She said too in a breathless voice as the red moon made them say it to each other when they found the other.
They kept staring into each other's eyes until everyone in the crowd started clapping. She looked around to see that the moon was back to normal so was the sky and the red stone had stopped shining. Everyone including the other four Lycan had their eyes on Alpha Clause and her.
"What is your name?" His deep, enticing voice drew her attention back to him.
"Fay." She breathed out as she stared at his gorgeous face. She couldn't believe anyone could be that good looking.
"I am Clause." He replied, making her look at him in surprise with both of her eyebrows raised.
"I know, you are one of The Five."
He smiled at her, looking more gorgeous and she felt her breath hitch as she stared at him. She had never seen him smile, many people there probably never have because he has always been known to be so fierce and serious.
"Come with me, Fay." He said, holding his hand out to her.
She glanced at his outstretched arm in front of her then glanced back at him. She placed her hand in his large, warm hand and he intertwined it with hers as she felt how rough, yet smooth it was. He led her to the stage as they walked down the path the people there have made for them.
The crowd continued clapping as they climbed the steps up to the stage where the other four stood, watching them. Everyone was happy that Alpha Clause found his mate because he has existed for many years, but he had never met his other half.
"Congratulations, Alpha Clause." Alpha Mason said as the two of them stopped in front of them and the applause died down as the werewolves talked amongst themselves.
"Thank you, Alpha Mason." Alpha replied with a nod as Fay studied the other four Alphas closely.
"We are glad and happy that you finally found your mate." Alpha Nathan said with a large smile.
"You can now be complete with her." Alpha Sloan added with tight lips as he was also known to be very serious, but not as much as Alpha Clause.
He nodded with a small smile tugging on his lips. He glanced at Fay then at the other four, "Her name is Fay, Fay meet the other four Alphas of The Five."
"Hi, nice to meet you all, Alphas." Fay replied firmly.
"Nice to meet you too, you look like perfect Luna material." Alpha Wyatt said as he looked at her approvingly.
"Yes, Indeed." Alpha Nathan added, nodding along with the others.
"We hope to see her with you for the fall ball." Alpha Mason said to Alpha Clause.
"She will be my Luna by then." Alpha Clause replied, glancing at her before glancing at the Alphas, "We have to say good night now."
"Alright, it's best if you two sort things out between you." Alpha Wyatt answered.
"Yeah, I bet your wolf is itching to be alone with your mate." Alpha Mason replied with a chuckle.
Alpha Clause chuckled too along with Alpha Nathan, and Alpha Nathan said teasingly, "Good night and have fun with your mate."
"I will, good night." Alpha Clause replied with a small smile and squeezed Fay's hand lightly.
"Good night." Alpha Sloan said with a nod as a ghost of a smile touched his lips.
Alpha Clause and Fay turned around to walk down the steps of the stage as the crowd watched them happily, parting away for them to pass. Fay remembered Amy and knew that she needed to seek her out. She turned to Alpha Clause as they walked, "I came with my friend, Amy. I need to find her before I go."
"Alright, let's look for her." He replied just as Amy ran up to them, tugging a man along with her.
"Oh, here she is." Fay said to him, making him turn to look at Amy.
"Hey Fay! Congrats on finding your mate!" Amy said excitedly as she smiled broadly at Fay and Alpha Clause. She faced Alpha Clause, "Hello Alpha, it's a pleasure to be in your presence."
"Hello Alpha." The man beside Amy said and Alpha Clause nodded.
"Amy! You found your mate, congrats to you too!" Freya said with a large smile.
"Yes, this is Aster, I'm going home with him." Amy introduced the man beside her.
Chapter 3
"Hi." Aster greeted Fay.
"Nice to meet you, Aster."
"Nice to meet you too."
"We also have to go, it was a pleasure to know you both." Alpha Clause said to Amy and Aster.
"It was our pleasure, Alpha. Take good care of our Fay." Amy said as she glimpsed at Fay then at him.
"I will." Alpha Clause said as he glanced at Fay, meeting her eyes. She blushed at the intensity of his stare and looked at Amy.
"Bye Amy, I will call you." Fay said to her.
"Bye, you're going to make a great Luna." Amy said and Aster added quietly, "Bye."
Fay nodded as she and Alpha Clause turned around to walk to his limo. The crowd cheered again as they watched him open the car's back door for her. She climbed in then he followed, shutting the door after. He glanced at her as the driver started driving them away.
She also glimpsed at him, meeting his eyes, "Are you taking me to your home?"
"Yes, my wolf is restless and both of us can't stand being away from you after I just found you."
"I feel the same way and I can feel the pull towards you too, but I need to say good bye to my parents and pack my things."
"Okay, we'll meet your parents first. I need to get their blessings too, but you don't need to pack, I have everything you will need." He replied and she nodded.
"Where do you live?" He asked taking his gaze away from hers to look out the window.
"No. 6, hail lane, the street after this one." She answered as she also looked out the window.
He nodded and leaned over to talk to the driver, "Sebastian, we're going to no. 6, hail lane first."
"Yes, Sir. That's the next street." Sebastian's voice came through from the driver's side.
"Yes." He answered him and leaned back. He glanced at Fay with a small smile touching his lips.
"Tell me more about you, what do you like?"
She smiled at him, "Can you narrow it down? What do I like about what?"
Alpha Clause let out a chuckle, "Everything. What makes you happy, what makes you laugh and smile?"
"There are many things that I can't list them all, but one of them is finding you, my mate."
"I am happy to find you too, Fay." She felt her breath hitch at the way he said her name.
The car stopped at that moment before she could reply and he opened the door. He climbed out and she followed him out, she closed the door after. He took her hand bringing her eyes to him, he broadened his smile and led her to her parent's door. Her heart beat faster at how so much more gorgeous he looked smiling.
They reached the door and she rang the doorbell. In a few minutes, the door opened to show her mom, Selene with a surprised look on her face when she saw Fay with Alpha Clause. Her gaze went to their interlaced hands before she glanced back up at them, "Hello Alpha Clause, Fay, please come in."
"Hello Fay's mom, it's a pleasure to meet you." Alpha greeted back as he and Fay stepped into the house after Selene stepped aside for them to pass.
"It's very pleasing to meet you too, Alpha." Selene replied as she glanced at him then at Fay, "So he is your mate, one of The Five rulers of our land?"
Fay smiled at her mom's surprise, "Yes, indeed he is, and I am his."
"That's great news then. Oh, I'm so happy for you, Fay." Selene wrapped her arms around Fay then released her, stepping back.
"Thank you, mom. Where's dad?"
"He's upstairs, go into the living room with your mate. I'll go call him." Selene said as her eyes glanced from Fay to Alpha Clause.
"Okay." Fay replied and led Alpha Clause to the room on the right which was the living room as Selene walked straight to the staircase that was opposite the door.
They entered the living room and sat down on the couch, side by side. She went to take her hand away from his, but he held onto her hand tighter as he looked at her. She looked at him with raised eyebrows.
"I like holding your hand in mine, it feels so soft and delicate. That makes me think of how the rest of you will feel against my hands." He murmured as he stared into her eyes intensely.
She felt her cheeks heat up in a blush, "I like holding your hand too, but isn't it too early for you to think of that? We only met tonight."
"I don't think it's too early. I have been waiting for you, my mate for many years. But if you think it's too early and want to take things slow, then I will do as you wish, my beautiful Fay." He said as he raised up his other hand and lightly brushed it into her hair.
"Thank you, Alpha." She replied as she remembered that since he hasn't marked her yet as his mate, she wasn't supposed to look him in the eye. He was still her Alpha and one of the Lycan rulers while she was still a normal werewolf. She averted her gaze to look at his chest instead of his eyes.
He took his hand away from her hair and brought it to her chin. He lifted her head up to bring her eyes to his, "No need for that now. You are my mate, the Luna of one of The Five. Address me with my name and look into my eyes like I do with you."
She smiled as she looked into his eyes and was about to reply when they heard footsteps. He dropped his hand from her chin and they both looked to the door of the living room. Selene and Thomas walked into the living room.
