Chapter 1

I printed a photo of my husband's lover and stuck it on the watermelon in the fridge.

Unexpectedly, this brilliant idea frightened my husband so much that he had a heart attack and was rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment.

Sadly, the doctors couldn't revive him.

Back home, I shredded the photo in the fridge and tossed it in the trash.

I ate watermelon, happily accepting the inheritance and becoming a wealthy widow.

Here's the story.

I discovered my husband, Derek, was cheating, and it burned me up.

So, I printed a portrait of his lover, Sabrina, and stuck it on our watermelon.

You know what? The melon, with her face on it, looked eerily like a human head.

Since Derek was so obsessed with Sabrina, I thought I should give him this watermelon as a gift.

My purpose was to give him a warning because I couldn't divorce him rashly.

But I couldn't swallow my anger either. So, scaring him with a watermelon seemed fair game, right?

I had been out of the loop for years. Although I hold the purse strings, who would know what Derek was up to behind the scenes?

And we never had kids.

I learned Derek and Sabrina had an eight-year-old, which didn't add up since we've only been married for eight years.

Turns out, he never loved me; he married me for my money.

No wonder he was okay with not having kids.

He already had a son. No wonder he never objected.

All those years working hard to expand my business, coaxing me to step back so he could take over—it was all to line his and his lover's pockets!

But alas, he was scared stiff by Sabrina's watermelon head.

He would never see his son brandishing a knife at me now.

It was bit of a pity, really.

I didn't mean for this to happen.

When I found out Derek used our company's funds to buy Sabrina a house and a car, I was seething.

The housekeeper brought home a watermelon, and there was Sabrina, grinning in a photo on my phone—I snapped.

I pasted her photo on the watermelon, fantasizing about slicing it open in front of Derek.

Just the thought of the scene was exhilarating!

The watermelon juice spraying out like blood would definitely give him a warning!

But Derek never got to witness that spectacle.

He was such a wimp, scared to death by his mistress' photo!

I even started to wonder if his love for Sabrina was the real deal.

Could he have more mistresses?

Sabrina had been with him for ages; maybe he was tired of her and was just sticking with her for the kid!

Guess what? My hunch was spot on!

Derek had not one but another mistress hidden away!

Her name was Chloe, and I found out about her lurking in Derek's secret WhatsApp account.

When Derek opened the fridge, he froze.

I'll never forget the look of horror on his face. Then, he hit the floor.

Chapter 2

I swear, I didn't think he would die from fright!

I even called an ambulance, but by the time he got to the hospital, it was too late.

I was shaken, too—I never expected him to be such a delicate flower.

I was about to call his parents, Howard and Ethel, and his sister, Giselle, but then I unlocked his phone with his fingerprint and discovered some eye-opening secrets.

So, I decided to hold off on those calls.

No woman can resist snooping through her husband's phone—it's a universal truth.

Since they treated me like dirt, why should I break the news to them?

Reading their family group chat, I was fuming.

Little did I know that they were so hypocritical!

It turned out that I was the only fool in the world who had been deceived.

They had a group chat with Sabrina in it, and the name was Loving Family.

I laughed bitterly. It was clear who the real family was, and I was the last to know.

I lost all desire to inform them.

They had all been playing me for a fool! I was so upset that I decided against telling them.

I just called the funeral home and had Derek taken away.

I didn't even bother to accompany them, letting them handle it.

I had better things to do. He treated me like garbage when he was alive; now that he died, I didn't shed a tear.

It was a relief, actually, sparing me the heartache.

After Derek was taken away, I went home to my watermelon.

I took out the melon with Sabrina's photo, grabbed a kitchen knife, and sliced it open.

It was as if I had severed Sabrina's head, and my gloom lifted instantly.

Then, I crumpled her photo and tossed it in the trash.

As I munched on the watermelon, I started plotting how to be a happy and wealthy widow.

While I was enjoying my snack, I browsed Derek's phone.

Oh no! He had a secret WhatsApp account!

I clicked in and took a look.

Oh my! I uncovered a shocking secret!

Derek was no ordinary cheater—he was a world-class scumbag!

Any guilt I felt for him vanished in an instant.

He didn't deserve my sorrow or sympathy.

Reading the messages between Derek and Chloe, I hatched a plan.

I glanced back at the photo frame on the table, a picture of Derek from last year.

I took and developed it.

He was just an average-looking middle-aged man, yet he played the field?

Without money, would he think he was an attractive man?

That despicable man, even in death, managed to disgust me further.

I sent Sabrina the intimate photos and chat logs between Derek and Chloe, including Chloe's address.

I wanted Sabrina to deal with Chloe, sparing me the effort.

Judging by their chat, Chloe was no angel either.

She knew Derek was married and still threw herself at him, letting that scumbag bask in his own glory.

He thought it was his charm. Little did he know they were after his cash.

Looking at the transfer records, I was fuming!

Every penny Derek gave to Sabrina and Chloe was half mine!

But I wasn't worried. Once Sabrina and Chloe had their little showdown, I would reclaim what was rightfully mine.

Neither of them would slip through my fingers!

Chapter 3

I even hired someone to stake out Chloe's place just for the drama. I wanted a front-row seat to the showdown between Sabrina and Chloe, and money was the least of my concerns.

Sure enough, three hours later, I received a video update from my spy.

Lounging on the couch, I watched with glee as Sabrina and Chloe tore into each other on my phone screen, their hair-pulling antics making me smirk from ear to ear.

Sabrina had some nerve. As a mistress herself, she dared to call Chloe shameless and accuse her of breaking up families.

Why didn't she reflect on her own role in tearing families apart?

People always point fingers at others for theft but never look inward at their own thieving ways.

In this round, Chloe was clearly outmatched.

Being a fresh graduate, Chloe wasn't as thick-skinned as Sabrina. She relied on her youth and beauty, thinking that hooking up with a sleaze like Derek would secure her a worry-free life.

Little did she know that everything that seems free comes at a cost.

Later, I heard that Sabrina had spread the news of Chloe's affair with Derek to her family and workplace.

Always seen as a good girl, Chloe was now the subject of neighborhood gossip. I heard she even lost her job.

Naturally, I was delighted with this outcome.

I hadn't even started with the heavy artillery yet. I was curious about Chloe's reaction when she received the legal letter I sent demanding the return of everything she had taken from Derek.

I was genuinely looking forward to it!

However, I didn't have time to tangle with her now. I had to prepare to deal with Sabrina and protect my inheritance.

Otherwise, if they all ganged up on me, I wouldn't stand a chance.

Little did I know, I nearly met my end at the hands of a child.

After settling the issue with the company's shares, I finally breathed a sigh of relief.

That scoundrel Derek had tried to transfer my shares to Sabrina, but fortunately, it didn't go through without my signature.

Thanks to my dad. When I wanted to step back, he remained vigilant, anticipating such a move.

Back then, I was so lovestruck and blinded by Derek, thinking my dad was overthinking things.

Indeed, my dad had a better judgment of people, or perhaps men just understand men better.

It took me several days and a considerable sum to get the shares back.

The transfer of shares alerted Sabrina.

She must have called Derek dozens of times. Annoyed by the constant ringing, I turned off my phone.

Eventually, Howard and Ethel couldn't take it anymore and came looking for Derek.

I guessed Sabrina had sent them, as Derek hadn't been home for a week.

The house Sabrina lived in, bought by Derek, was right across from Howard and Ethel's.

Apparently, it was for their convenience to visit her and Derek's child, Rex. They really had no qualms about me!

I realized how naive I had been, kept in the dark all these years.

And that house Derek bought for her was a townhouse. He really spared no expense.

The house Howard and Ethel lived in was also mine. It turned out I had been their cash cow.

I had been supporting Derek's parents, his sister, and even his mistress and child!

From their chat logs in the group, they hadn't held back on mocking me.

Giselle's messages were incredibly infuriating, making my chest tight with anger.

But soon, I would have the last laugh. Just thinking about it gave me a thrill.
