Chapter 1

We had been married for six years. On our anniversary, Elliott Wellington did not come home all night, but asked someone to bring me a bouquet of roses.

I looked calm, threw the bouquet of flowers into the trash can, printed out the divorce agreement, and mailed it to his company.

The next day, Elliott made a special trip home to apologize to me.

"Victoria, Emily doesn't know that you are allergic to flowers. She means well."

His expression was sincere and affectionate, but he didn't notice that there was still a lipstick mark on his face.

I sneered and took out the property division agreement. "I don't know that. But if you sign it, all three of us will be satisfied."

However, Elliott was not happy. He tore up the agreement with a cold face and left never to return.

It was a month later when we met again.

——

"Victoria, give me some food."

The sound of the suitcase wheels turning was getting closer and closer. Elliott put down his things and lay down on the sofa with a tired look.

Elliott returned home after a month-long business trip.

After six years of marriage, he became closer and closer to his young and beautiful female secretary. They started dating half a year ago and he bought a big house for Emily.

Every time we quarreled, he would go into the cold war with me for a long time and then go find Emily.

I thought Elliott would never come back.

Unexpectedly, he acted as if nothing had happened and made his request as naturally as before, asking me to get him something to eat.

I didn't even raise my head.

Holding a notebook, I was sitting on the balcony, busy with work.

Seeing that I ignored him, Elliott called me again.

I said, "Cook whatever you want to eat, or order takeout."

My voice was cold.

It was so cold that it felt like I was talking to an insignificant stranger.

Elliott was stunned.

In the past, I would never dare to say such words.

After all, everyone thought that marrying Elliott was indeed marrying above my station.

I should humble myself and be grateful.

But I couldn't stand it anymore.

Elliott sat up, looked at me silently for a while, then got up and went to the kitchen.

After fiddling around in the kitchen for a long time, he finally cooked fast food, which smelled burnt.

When he brought it out, he looked at me with some embarrassment.

"Victoria, will you stop being angry?

"Without you cooking for me, I can't even have normal fast food."

His words were tinged with resentment.

It seemed like Elliott was blaming me for deliberately not cooking for him.

But I just sneered.

He was a grown-up, but he couldn't even cook fast food properly.

After six years of marriage, Elliott's parents looked down on me. They looked down on my family background and despised me as a person.

When Elliott made up his mind to marry me, they forbade him to hire a servant out of spite.

So for the past six years, I'd done all the housework.

I had to work during the day and take care of Elliott when I get home. At first, he understood my difficulties.

But gradually, I was so busy every day that I no longer had time to put on makeup and dress myself up.

Elliott's attention shifted to others.

He became closer and closer to his beautiful young secretary, Emily Cooper. I even saw them shopping hand in hand.

Emily asked him, "Who is better, me or your wife?"

Elliott smiled nonchalantly, "Of course it's you. Victoria can't compare to you."

Later I found out, and he explained it calmly.

"It's just a show."

Chapter 2

At this moment, I was looking at Elliott in front of me.

He was still holding the fast food in his hand. And he looked aggrieved, like a bullied child.

He sat down next to me and softened his tone in an attempt to be friendly.

"Honey, please don't be angry.

"That was Emily's fault. She knew we were in a cold war, so she sent you roses. She meant well. She didn't know you were allergic to pollen. I apologized to you on her behalf."

Elliott frowned, as if I was being unreasonable.

Without wasting any time, I took out the divorce agreement and property division agreement and threw them to him.

This scene also happened a month ago.

A month ago, Elliott and I had a fight about Emily and we were in a cold war for a long time.

He didn't go home for weeks.

We had agreed in advance that our sixth wedding anniversary would be celebrated in a grand manner, but Elliott broke his promise and did not return home all night.

I sat alone in front of a sumptuous candlelight dinner, eating slowly and leisurely.

But the doorbell rang. Someone sent me a big bouquet of roses.

There was also a card with a sentence written on it.

[Victoria, happy sixth anniversary!]

I sneered.

Without any hesitation, I threw the flowers and the card into the trash can.

Then I decisively printed out the divorce agreement and sent it to Elliott's company.

Elliott knew it six years ago.

I was allergic to pollen. The flowers I hated the most were roses.

But afterwards he came specially to apologize, saying that Emily did not mean it and that she meant well.

But we were both women. I knew what Emily was thinking.

If she really had good intentions, she wouldn't have monopolized Elliott that night and humiliated me with roses.

It was a pity that Elliott didn't listen.

He tore up the divorce agreement into pieces and walked away with a cold face.

Even though he tore it up, I printed out ten more copies and handed him a new one.

"Please sign it when you have time.

"Since you like Emily so much, you should take some responsibility and give her a name. Don't let her be called a mistress anymore."

Elliott turned a deaf ear to it, tore up the divorce agreement, and threw it into the trash can.

He bent down, opened the suitcase, took out a packaging box, and deliberately changed the subject.

"Victoria, when I got back from my business trip, the first thing I did was to give you an anniversary gift. Do you like it?"

I took a quick glance. It was an exquisite necklace.

But he forgot that I no longer like wearing these jewels.

Chapter 3

Elliott looked at me expectantly. And when he saw that I didn't move, he pushed the necklace towards me again.

I raised my hand to knock it away and stood up impatiently, "Elliott, you should know that continuing to waste time like this will not benefit anyone."

Although in front of outsiders, we still looked like a loving couple.

But we knew very well that this marriage was just a facade.

He almost treated Emily's house as his own home. And I also heard him making phone calls in the study.

"Wait for me at home. After I finish my work here, I will go back to accompany you."

Needless to say, the person on the other end of the phone was definitely Emily.

When facing Emily, Elliott would subconsciously become much gentler.

I couldn't help but think back to the first few years of our relationship in college when Elliott and I were just dating, and he was also so doting on me.

At that time, Elliott's parents did not agree with his relationship with me and cut off his living expenses.

He worked part-time to earn money just to buy me a chocolate cake for 398 dollars.

He would use one month's salary to buy me a plain ring and carefully help me put it on my hand.

"Victoria, I will treat you well for the rest of my life and only love you forever."

I closed my eyes.

These memories were many years old.

Even if it was not blown away by the wind, it would slowly fade away with time.

When the necklace fell to the ground, it rolled out of the box, making a crisp sound.

There was silence in the room.

Elliott stood there stiffly, without bending down to pick it up. When he looked up at me again, his eyes had changed.

I raised my eyes to look at him provocatively.

"Have you had enough of me? Then sign it."

I deliberately provoked him, just wanting a quick divorce and freedom.

But Elliott suddenly smiled.

He looked at me coldly, like a demon crawling out of hell.

"Victoria, don't you just want a divorce?

"I won't let you have your wish."

Love Ex-husband Again? Never!
