Chapter 1

Gloria Huerta was locked up in a mental hospital by the person she loved the most.

Manuel Norton's eyes were as cold as a knife as he said, “When you learn your lesson and stop hurting Sylvia, I will let you out.”

Later, Gloria did become well-behaved and quiet, but she was sitting in the arms of another man.

The once high and mighty eldest son of the Norton Family humbled himself to the dust, just to ask her to look back at him again.

“Miss Gloria, we are having our wedding next month. I hope you can be there on time.”

“Sure.”

After the man left, Gloria looked at the red book in her hand in a daze.

If someone told her that one day she would marry a stranger whom she had only known for ten minutes, Gloria would definitely sneer and scold the other person for having such a ridiculous idea.

Since the one she loved and wanted to spend the rest of her life with must be Manuel.

But she was aware that her expectation would never be a reality anymore. So, Gloria suppressed her complicated emotions and slowly walked down the stairs.

That day was originally the day Manuel and her were going to get married. However, Manuel left her and ran away for another woman.

As a result, she became the biggest joke in the circle. What was more, the same thing had happened three times.

In that case, she would marry someone else.

Suddenly, she heard the excited chatter of the young couples waiting in line nearby.

“Look, this is Miss Huerta, is she going to get the marriage certificate?”

“Then the one who just left must be Mr. Norton? Wow, Mr. Norton waited for three years and finally got the beauty. Wow, what a beautiful love!”

“I'm so envious. Before marriage, she had her parents pampering her and after marriage, she has a husband who loves her dearly. Miss Huerta is really the happiest woman in the world.”

The happiest person?

Oh.

Gloria curled the corners of her lips, but her eyes were full of bitterness and self-mockery. It was indeed like that in the past.

She was the little princess in the palm of her parents' hands.

She was the baby that Manuel had protected since childhood and he said he would marry her when she grew up.

Three years ago, she was in a car accident and became a vegetable. Her father set up a special charity foundation just to accumulate good karma and hope that his daughter would wake up soon.

Her mother went to many places to pray for her, even though her legs were damaged.

Her fiancé, Manuel, even searched all over the world for brain experts for her.

However, these three people who were willing to give everything for her at that time gave all their love to another person.

A Rolls-Royce stopped next to Gloria, the window rolled down, revealing Manuel's handsome face.

“Gloria, why are you here?”

Seeing the building behind her, Manuel's eyebrows jumped, “You went to the City Hall?”

Gloria hid the red envelope in her hand and looked at him and Slyvia sitting in the passenger seat without any expression. “I was just passing by,” she said.

Manuel's mind immediately wondered.

Right, she was alone, so what should she go to the City Hall then?

Thinking about leaving her at the wedding today, Manuel met Gloria's cold eyes and felt a little apologetic. “Gloria, I'm sorry…."

Just as he opened his mouth, a low cry of pain came from the passenger seat.

Manuel immediately forgot what he was going to say, turned his head to look inside and then quickly started the engine.

“Gloria, Slyvia is injured. I'll take her to the hospital first. Please be careful on your way home.”

After saying that, the car drove away.

Gloria watched coldly as the Rolls-Royce with colorful ribbons disappeared at the end of her sight.

It was clearly their wedding car, but there was another woman sitting in it and the ceramic decoration of two people leaning against each other on the front of the car seemed a great irony.

She thought she had become numb, but the image engraved on her retina still hurt her eyes and made her breathing difficult.

Chapter 2

Gloria could not help but bend down, tears suddenly rolled down her eyes and finally, under the surprised gazes of passers-by, she fled back home in embarrassment.

But home was not a harbor, all that awaited her was violent storms.

As soon as she entered the door, my father slapped me hard.

Gloria felt a burning pain on her face and her head was buzzing. She saw her father's livid face and the deep disappointment in her mother's eyes.

“Sylvia cut her wrists because of you, are you satisfied now?!”

“You know Sylvia also likes Manuel, but you insist on marrying him. What do you want Sylvia to do in the future?”

“I'm so disappointed in you!”

“Gloria, you are too selfish. You were not like this before.”

As Gloria listened, she started to laugh, but her eyes were filled with tears.

She looked at her parents who had loved her for many years but then seemed like her enemies and wanted to ask, how did you become like that?

Were you still my parents?

It was Slyvia who stole her fiancé, so why should they blame her?

But she knew that once she asked, all she would get in return would be shocked and puzzled looks from her parents and deeper disappointment.

Gloria did not ask any more questions. She calmed down despite the extreme pain.

“What do you want me to do?” she asked instead.

“Give Manuel to Sylvia. It was Slyvia who accompanied us during the three years you were in a coma. She has done a great favor to our Huerta Family. You can't be so ungrateful!”

Just as her father finished speaking, Manuel and Slyvia walked in. Gloria looked at the two holding hands and her eyes turned cold.

Without her parents telling her, she no longer wanted Manuel.

As Slyvia came back, her parents stopped scolding her and immediately went to greet Sylvia, surrounding her and asking about her well-being.

“Are you okay, Sylvia? Silly child, why are you so desperate to do such a stupid thing? If anything happens to you, how will your parents live?”

The scene was dazzling. Gloria did not want to watch it, so she covered her painful face and turned to go outside, but Manuel held her hand.

“Gloria, what happened today…."

“I know what you're going to say.” Gloria turned around and interrupted him, “but I don't want to hear it.”

It was nothing more than a bland apology and a promise to prepare a more grand wedding for her next time.

However, Gloria did not see the grand wedding. Instead, she became the only bride in the city who was abandoned three times in a row.

“Manuel, people are all made of flesh and blood.”

She was not made of steel and that time the passionate love that filled her heart for Manuel had completely cooled down.

Manuel thought that Gloria would lose her temper and make a scene like before, but after hearing those sentences, he could not help but be stunned, trying to see the emotions in Gloria's eyes.

However, Gloria had already shaken off his hand and walked out.

“Gloria.” Manuel panicked and subconsciously wanted to chase after her.

Suddenly, a cry of surprise came from behind him, “Manuel, come quickly, Slyvia has fainted!”

The pursuer suddenly changed direction and ran towards Slyvia anxiously.

A hint of sarcasm flashed across Gloria's eyes.

She came to the garden alone.

A long time later, she received a message from Slyvia.

[Sister, look how pitiful you are. As long as I wave my hand, your parents and Manuel will come around me, but you are just a bunch of air at home that no one cares about.]

[But it's still a bit of an eyesore to have you at home. So, don't worry, sooner or later, I will make you get out of here like a dog!]

Then, Manuel fed Slyvia soup and her parents looked at the video of Slyvia with distressed eyes.

Chapter 3

In the past, Gloria would have rushed back in a rage to tear Slyvia apart without caring about anything else.

That time she just put the name Slyvia into the blacklist with an expressionless face.

After Gloria woke up, she found out that after she became a vegetable, her parents fell into great grief. In order to cheer them up, Manuel found Slyvia, who looked like her, to comfort them.

Slyvia was sweet-talking and good at coaxing people and soon won their favor.

Gloria was also very grateful to Slyvia. When she learned that her parents had adopted Slyvia as their daughter, she was very happy that she had a new sister.

But Gloria soon discovered that things were not as she had imagined and Slyvia replaced her as the center of attention.

Slyvia liked her room, so her parents asked Gloria to give the room to the other party.

When her parents bought her a necklace, she should give it to Sylvia since her adopted sister said it was beautiful.

In summary, she should have passed everything she had for Sylvia. Even her fiancé Manuel's gaze always lingered on Sylvia for a long time with doting.

He stood her up on her birthday for Slyvia, left her alone on the top of the mountain in the middle of the night for Slyvia and gave up the grand wedding he had promised her for Slyvia.

And Slyvia, that seemingly innocent sister, was actually very scheming.

Since she woke up, Slyvia had repeatedly tried to alienate the relationship between her and her parents' fiancé.

The other party was very skilled and Gloria was no match for her. After only two years, her parents became estranged from Gloria and Manuel repeatedly embarrassed her because of Slyvia.

Gloria had argued and quarreled before, but it only pushed them further and further away.

Later she realized that the reason why Slyvia was able to succeed again and again was that those people who were once closest to her no longer cared about her.

Love would not disappear, it would only shift. Gloria did not believe it before, but then she did.

Just like that moment, even if she showed these chat records in front of everyone, her parents and Manuel would still believe that she had fabricated them to frame Slyvia.

In the end, she was the only one who suffered.

Gloria put down her phone and sat on the swing. There was no place for her in this house anymore. Even if Slyvia did not drive her away, she would leave.

Suddenly, a bloody thing was thrown at her from the side. Gloria was startled and realized that it was the ragdoll cat that Slyvia usually kept at home.

However, the cat was at that moment covered in blood and was obviously dead.

Gloria could not help but cover her mouth.

Manuel, who happened to come over, was also stunned.

“What happened?” he asked.

“It, it..."

Before she finished her words, she heard a scream. Slyvia ran over and picked up the cat on the ground, asking in a crying voice, “Sister, why did you hurt Kitty?”

Gloria was stunned. “What did you say?”

“Sister, I know you resent me for ruining your wedding. But you should not take it out on Kitty.”

Slyvia's tears fell and Gloria realized that that was another frame-up. Since that had happened countless times.

But Gloria did not expect Slyvia to frame her by abusing and killing her own pet.

If she remembered correctly, that cat was left by her mother.

Gloria could not help but shudder. In the past, everyone would stand on Slyvia's side, but she still defended herself, “It wasn't me. Someone just threw it here.”

“But the cuts on Kitty's body were obviously made by a professional,” Slyvia said with tears in her eyes. “You are the only one in our family who studies medicine. Apart from you, I don't know who else I can suspect.”
