Chapter 2

The next day, Noelle stood outside the hotel.

The message on her phone was from Tommy three minutes ago. [Today’s dinner is very important. Wife, don’t be late.]

Noelle remembered this dinner and if nothing unexpected happened, Camilla would start to make trouble again.

She found the box skillfully and sure enough, when she opened the door, she heard Camilla crying.

“I just think that peeling hairy crabs will dirty your hands, which is too unsightly, so I changed to mango bobo, which is really delicious. You can try it and it can also refresh your breath.” Camilla wiped away the non-existent tears and glanced at Tommy from time to time.

The faces of several partners’ bosses were not very good, but they did not get angry for Tommy’s sake.

She thought Tommy would scold this ignorant assistant, but he just smiled lightly and said, “This little assistant is ignorant, but she is also kind.”

“What a kind person.” Noelle’s voice suddenly sounded.

She sat down in high heels and the aura around her even stunned Tommy for a moment.

Why was Noelle today… seemingly different?

Noelle’s cold eyes fell on Tommy. She used to think that Tommy was just greedy for a temporary novelty, but she didn’t expect him to be really stupid.

The party A invited today was the one that Baldwin Group had been cooperating with for more than half a year.

Success or failure depended on this dinner.

“Noelle!”

Tommy gritted his teeth and whispered, “It’s because you came too late. You should be responsible for these dishes. Camilla has just graduated for a few years. How can she handle these things?”

It was this sentence again.

In the previous life, no matter what mistakes Camilla made, Tommy would use this sentence to excuse her.

He regarded Camilla’s slowness as naivety and her stupidity as cuteness.

But he forgot that in the early days of starting a business, he hugged Noelle more than once and sighed. “Noelle, fortunately I have you. You are the most vigorous and decisive woman I have ever seen. With you, I am not afraid of anything.”

Now her vigorous and decisiveness had become an unacceptable strength in Tommy’s mouth and Camilla’s stupidity had become precious.

“I can take the blame. As a reward, how about giving me a house?”

Noelle took out the contract prepared in advance and handed it to Tommy with only the blank area for signature.

“You! At this time–”

“Mr. Baldwin, I really didn’t mean it. Did I mess it up again?” Camilla’s delicate voice sounded.

Tommy’s face changed immediately. He comforted her softly, “It’s not your fault. These things are not your responsibility.” He signed without blinking.

After getting what she wanted, Noelle was in a good mood. She waved to the waiter. “Bring me the good wine I have stored. I will apologize to you on behalf of Baldwin Group.” Noelle stood up with the wine glass.

The bosses were a little less angry and stood up.

But a moment later, what was handed to Noelle was Sprite and Coke.

Her face darkened. “Did you make a mistake? I want the wine, the wine I stored.”

The waiter lowered his head. “Mrs. Stephens, it’s... Miss Spencer said that all your wine was taken away and replaced with these.”

Everyone’s eyes fell on Camilla. She shrank her head and hid behind Tommy, blinking her tearful eyes, looking very innocent. “I just think strong alcohol is harmful to the body and we are all old. I didn’t expect that I would do something bad with good intentions.”

In one sentence, everyone was offended.

The bosses completely lost their patience and shook their heads and left. Before leaving, they took away the contract that only needed a signature.

“Camilla!” With a scolding, Noelle’s slap landed firmly on Camilla’s face.

The next moment, Tommy, who had been silent, stood up suddenly and slapped her back without hesitation. “Are you crazy?! Noelle, what’s the point of you being so aggressive? Camilla is just young, unlike you, who is a seasoned veteran in the workplace. You can’t be jealous of her just because she is innocent!”

Noelle was so angry that she laughed.

Just as she was about to say something, Camilla suddenly fell into Tommy’s arms, holding her stomach. She looked painful and sweating.

“Camilla!”

Tommy picked up Camilla and rushed to the hospital.

Chapter 3

Camilla was diagnosed with acute gastroenteritis.

But she refused treatment.

Not only that, she also raised her hand and hit her belly hard. “Let me die in pain. So many people saw me being beaten. I have no face to live. Mr. Baldwin, let me die!” Camilla cried and shouted. Even though she looked like she was looking for death, she still did not forget to get into Tommy’s arms.

Tommy was very distressed. While comforting Camilla, he said to Noelle, who was standing at the door. “Apologize.”

“What did you say?”

Even though she knew who Tommy’s heart was with now, Noelle still couldn’t help but feel a chill when she heard this.

She was stubborn and resolute, rarely gave in to others.

In the past, even if she made a mistake accidentally, Tommy would stand in front of her and apologize for her. But now, Tommy was holding another woman in his arms, asking her to apologize to the wrong party.

“I said, kneel down and apologize to Camilla.”

Tommy repeated it again. Looking at the two people in a stalemate, Camilla burst into tears again.

She broke Tommy’s hand and was about to jump out of the window. Tommy nervously hugged her waist tightly. “Camilla, calm down. Don’t worry, I will make her apologize.”

The next moment, Tommy looked at Noelle with no patience in his eyes. “I’ll say it one last time, apologize, otherwise think about your parents. As far as I know, your father accidentally fell from the upstairs and is now in the hospital for treatment?”

Noelle’s fists clenched suddenly when he mentioned her parents.

The scene before her death in the last life was still vivid. She saw her parents drowned by the sea with her own eyes.

She didn’t want to experience that kind of pain for the second time in her life.

“Tommy, you are simply heartless,” Noelle said this sentence almost with gritted teeth. She thought that it was Camilla’s death in the last life that stimulated Tommy, so he would do such an extreme thing, but she didn’t expect that he was a bad person in his bones.

Tommy did not respond and the threat in his eyes became more and more obvious.

Under the gaze of the medical staff in the ward, Noelle slowly knelt down.

Her knees fell on the cold floor, hard and painful.

But it was not as painful as the pain in her heart.

“I’m sorry, Miss Spencer. Please forgive me.” Noelle was a proud person. Saying such words in public was tantamount to torture, but Camilla pretended that she could not hear it and forced Noelle to say it three times.

Each time was louder than the last.

“I’m sorry, Miss Spencer. Please forgive me.”

“I’m sorry, Miss Spencer. Please don’t be angry with me.”

“I’m sorry, Miss Spencer. Your health is important. Please forgive me.”

In every word, Noelle’s eyes were red.

That was an insult from the depths of her soul.

Finally, Camilla snorted with satisfaction and reluctantly allowed the nurse next to her to come forward and give her an injection.

She was shaking like a sieve and hugged Tommy tightly. “Mr. Baldwin, I’m scared.”

“I’m here.” Tommy didn’t even spare a glance for Noelle, but hugged Camilla and let her bite his wrist. The purple teeth marks seemed like Camilla’s silent declaration of war.

She was declaring her sovereignty.

Tommy didn’t understand, but Noelle did.

She sneered, got up and went home.

She thought Tommy wouldn’t come back at night, but late at night, she felt someone standing by the bed.

It was Tommy.

Almost at the same time, when Noelle opened her eyes, Tommy knelt down. “Noelle, please save Camilla.”

Chapter 4

“Today’s incident somehow got out. People are saying that Camilla is the third party. She wants to commit suicide now.”

Suicide again.

She wanted to commit suicide after being slapped. She wanted to commit suicide after being talked about.

But it was clear that Camilla, who was selfish, must be selfish and cherish her life.

“Then let her die. Besides, isn’t she the mistress? Tommy, don’t think that I can’t see the flirting between you. You are the same as her, which makes me feel sick.” Noelle was about to lie down after saying that.

Tommy grabbed her shoulders.

His voice was trembling and his eyes were earnest.

“She is still young. She can’t just die like this. Noelle, you are my wife. Just do a good deed for me. Let’s pretend to divorce and I will give her a name, okay? Save her life.”

Noelle couldn’t believe her ears.

Her husband of eight years actually begged her to give the mistress a name.

But divorce was what she wanted.

Even if it was fake, what could it do? The contract had been signed anyway. When she got the divorce certificate, the fake would become real.

“Okay,” Noelle responded and Tommy almost cried with joy, but he didn’t leave and knelt there.

“Anything else?”

“Necklace… Wife, give me the necklace.”

Hearing this, Noelle was stunned.

The necklace was a family heirloom of the Baldwin Family and it was only passed on to the daughter-in-law recognized by the Baldwin Family.

Back then, when Tommy proposed to her. He solemnly put the necklace on her and announced in front of everyone that she, Noelle, would be the owner of the necklace from now on. But now, he actually wanted to give the necklace to Camilla so easily.

However, there was no greater sorrow than the death of the heart. From the day she planned to leave, Noelle didn’t care about anything.

She took off the necklace expressionlessly and threw it to Tommy.

She didn’t want the necklace anymore and she didn’t want Tommy either.

Tommy carefully took the necklace and left, not noticing that their wedding photo hanging on the bedside had been taken down at some point; the gifts that Noelle had hung up like treasures were also gone.

In the following days, Tommy did not go home.

But Noelle knew his whereabouts very well.

Camilla took the necklace out with great fanfare and flaunted it in the streets, claiming to be Mrs. Baldwin. At all banquets that required a female companion, Camilla stood beside Tommy. People in the circle knew it tacitly and no one had embarrassed the two in public.

Until Camilla began to show her innocence everywhere again.

She added cocoa to Mr. Morris’ champagne, who was severely allergic to coffee, under the pretext of desensitization training; when Mr. Reynard’s daughter celebrated her birthday, she blew out the candles first, saying that she wanted to share in the good fortune; even when Tommy was discussing cooperation with someone, she rushed over and slapped the other person several times, angrily scolding others for seducing Tommy...

One after another, Baldwin Group reputation in the circle declined rapidly.

For this reason, Tommy almost lost an old customer with whom he had cooperated for many years.

In desperation, he begged Noelle.

“Baldwin Group is our common hard work. You must not have the heart to stand by and watch, right? Noelle, help me.”

He thought it would take some effort, but Noelle agreed immediately.

She made an appointment with the other party to meet in a restaurant, but the contract was finalized again during a meal. But it was not signed in the name of Baldwin Group, but in the name of his rival company, the Richardson Group.

[You’ve already brought in such a big business before you even started working. You’ve done a good job.]

Looking at the message on her phone, Noelle replied expressionlessly: [There are still six days left before the one-month deadline. Don’t forget what you promised me.]

After doing all this, Noelle went to the company.

In the office, she showed the signed contract to Tommy and quickly took it back before he could see it clearly. Tommy sat on the office chair with a strange look on his face and the smile on his face was far-fetched and a little… intoxicated.

Just as Noelle was puzzled, a sound of saliva suddenly came from under the large desk.

As an adult woman, Noelle immediately understood what happened here.

Tommy didn’t know that he had been exposed. He put one hand under his body and secretly held Camilla’s head. The sound from his throat was forbearing and ambiguous. “If you have nothing to do, go back first. I have a meeting later.”

After eight years of marriage, Noelle knew Tommy well enough.

When he was emotional, his Adam’s apple would roll uncontrollably.

In the past, Noelle would think that he looked very sexy, but now, looking at his rolling Adam’s apple, Noelle just felt disgusted.

In her previous life, when she wanted to divorce, Tommy swore to heaven that he had never done anything beyond the rules. In the two years after sending Camilla away, she made love with Tommy more than once.

But it was clear... less than a month after the eighth anniversary, this so-called innocent assistant knelt under his crotch.

That thing might have been stained with Camilla’s smell.

Thinking of this, Noelle couldn’t help but cover her mouth and rushed out to vomit.

She held her throat and almost vomited bile. Physiological tears overflowed from the corners of her eyes. After an unknown period of time, she squatted down in embarrassment, leaning against the wall, laughing at her own patheticness.
