Chapter 1

I had the last big fight with Vincent Kingsley.

He left in anger.

I was killed by a gangster who broke into my home, along with my baby who was less than three months old in my belly.

Vincent took his female secretary, who he sponsored, to different places. And they were inseparable.

It was half a month later before he thought of me again.

Vincent and I stood in the mess. I was like a wild beast out of control, hysterical and determined to fight to the death.

He slightly frowned. The usual quarrel had changed his mood. He tugged at his tie tiredly, stepped over the mess I left behind, and walked towards the study.

I held him back, with red eyes. "Fire Sharon."

Vincent turned his head and looked at me as if he was looking at a madman who was making troubles for no reason. "Clean this up when you calm down. I'm packing now. And I have to catch a plane to Lorfield."

My hands were shaking. And the crazy desire to destroy and harm myself was uncontrollably overwhelmed my reason.

I knew I was sick again.

But the man who once loved me deeply and said he would protect me forever, was unwilling to even look back at me.

I was shattered time and time again in isolation and helplessness, and I patched myself up time and time again through self-comfort.

"Vincent, do you still remember what you said to me when we got married?"

He froze at the door. "Of course I do. I haven't changed. It's you who has changed. Sharon came from the mountains and just wanted to find a peaceful life in the city. She was a simple and motivated girl. It was you who saw her as an enemy and pushed her into the swimming pool. She didn't ask for an apology, but you kept pushing her. Mia, you've changed so much that I can hardly recognize you."

The endless quarrels had made me so ugly that I almost didn't recognize myself anymore.

But I used to like to laugh and have a cheerful personality.

I was exhausted physically and mentally, and no longer had the desire to explain, so I said calmly, "Let's get a divorce and let each other go."

Vincent froze. His calm emotions finally showed some ups and downs. He clenched his fists and said, "I won't get a divorce. Don't even think about it."

When we were young and in love, we agreed that no matter how much we fought in the future, neither of us would file for divorce.

But there was no need for such a marriage that had been completely distorted to exist.

Why didn't Vincent want to give it up?

The door slammed. I slid to the ground, exhausted. My tears dropped to the floor.

We'd been married less than seven years.

I didn't know how long it took, but the sound downstairs was heard again.

The hurried pace made me irresistibly hopeful.

I wiped my face hurriedly, stood up and opened the door. The next moment, I was stunned. Before I could say a word, I was covered with my mouth and dragged into the room.

Chapter 2

Vincent left for half an hour and then came back.

He omitted an important document.

He took the documents and hurried past the bedroom. He hesitated for a few seconds and then stepped back. "I'm on a business trip now and it will take half a month."

There was no sound in the room. Vincent knocked on the door twice, but there was still no response. He lost his patience. "Mia, you want a divorce? No way."

Then, he added angrily, "I will take Sharon with me on this business trip. I don't have an inappropriate relationship with her. You know who is at fault."

Just as he finished speaking, something slammed against the door.

The arrogant protest made Vincent unable to suppress the anger in his eyes any longer. "Mia, you disappoint me so much. If you think I'm cheating, then I'm doing what you want."

There was no sound in the room. Vincent seemed to be stimulated, turned and left without stopping.

The keys to the house were kept in the drawer of the table downstairs. If he had been alert, he would have noticed something unusual.

As long as he took the keys and opened the door, he would see blood flowing in the room. I was stabbed dozens of times. My raised hand left five bloody fingerprints on the door, and finally fell in despair as he left.

When I was on the verge of death, a hoarse, horrible voice sounded in my ears like a broken, mistuned cello. "Look, even your husband doesn't want you anymore. He would rather be affectionate with other women than look at you. It's so painful to live like this. Why don't I help you get rid of it?"

Chapter 3

My soul left my body. And I watched the cruel criminal dismember my body and then carefully clean the bedroom.

After doing all this, he swaggered out of the villa.

I was staggering and was pulled to Vincent's side by an invisible force.

He leaned back in the car seat, rubbing his brow anxiously.

Sharon Foster on the side moved closer to him unnoticeably. The neckline of her blouse almost showed her breasts.

She asked softly, "Mr. Kingsley, is Mrs. Kingsley unhappy again that you'll take me to Lorfield on a business trip?"

Vincent said, "It has nothing to do with you. During this trip to Lorfield, you should familiarize yourself with the procedures of the branch. I will transfer you to Lorfield next month and double your salary."

Sharon's smile froze. She bit her lip and said with grievance, "But I don't want to leave the head office. I want to stay by your side and repay your kindness."

Sharon had always been smart and knew how to maximize her strengths.

She didn't say anything inappropriate, but her feelings came through.

Restrained and hidden admiration. Generous and straightforward worship. No man could resist the love of beauty.

Vincent's eyes were gloomy and unpredictable. After a moment of confusion, he lowered his voice and said, "This is the decision of the board of directors."

There was no need to alarm the board of directors about the stay or departure of am assistant. Sharon knew it and was naturally unwilling. She covered her mouth and coughed. Her weak appearance made Vincent frown.

"Forget it. You fell into the swimming pool and have just recovered from pneumonia. Rest for a while. Let's postpone the transfer."

She smiled happily and excitedly grabbed Vincent's arm. But under his scrutiny, she retracted her hand helplessly. "I'm sorry. I'm so happy. As long as I can stay on your side, I can take more grievances."

While pretending to be obedient, Sharon did not forget to find opportunities to taunt me.

Vincent enjoyed this very much, but he didn't know that the reason I pushed Sharon into the water was because she stole my wedding diamond ring and put it on her hand. After being discovered, she threw the ring into the swimming pool. I was so angry that I ordered her to go into the water to retrieve it.

But after seeing Vincent, she showed weakness and pretended to be pushed into the water by me.

I explained it, but the diamond ring was nowhere to be found in such a big swimming pool.

Sharon took advantage of Vincent's guilt and kept him in the hospital for a week.

This week, she sent countless provocative photos and insulting words to me, declaring that Vincent cared about her, while not forgetting to insult me with the most vulgar words in an attempt to anger me.

My depression relapsed. And just as she wished, I couldn't control myself and destroyed everything at home, and had a big fight with Vincent.

I was in pain and despair, desperately hoping someone would help me. But my closest and most beloved husband, with his indifference, pushed me deeper into the abyss.

I covered my empty heart and watched Vincent take out his cell phone and went through my chat history with him. The last message was a week ago. I reminded him to go home early because I had a surprise for him.

But the surprise had died with me.

Vincent put down his phone, feeling discomfort in his heart.
