Chapter 5
Henry was faking being unconscious. He jumped up when he was taken to the nurse's office and hid in the washroom to call me.
"Elena, you've gone too far. Why did you cancel my black card and embarrass me in front of everyone?
"Don't forget, my mom saved your mom's life. You owe me.
"Restore my black card immediately, or I'll tell everyone at school that your family is ungrateful and mistreats the person who saved your mom's life."
Listening to his angry rant, I calmly hung up the phone and blocked him.
After school, Leah blocked me at the classroom door.
She gritted her teeth and yanked my hair, saying, "Elena, you jerk! Henry is my boyfriend, and you're still obsessing over him.
"Yesterday, he rejected your confession, so you took revenge. You switched the black card while cleaning and made him look bad in front of everyone.
"Henry was kind enough not to expose your dirty trick on the spot, but I won't let you keep bullying him."
The classmates who were about to leave stopped and stared at me, whispering among themselves.
"So it was her messing things up. I knew it. How could Henry be out of money?"
I felt pain in my scalp. I pulled out pepper spray and sprayed it on Leah's face.
She screamed and let go.
I sneered and said, "That card was originally..."
Before I could finish, Henry showed up.
He shielded Leah and said earnestly, "I don't blame you for the black card incident. Don't take it out on Leah."
With that one statement, he confirmed the story that I had swapped the black card. The classmates started angrily criticizing me.
"From now on, no one should talk to her."
"Yeah, let's not be friends with someone so petty and jealous. She doesn't deserve to be our friend."
No one would believe the truth from me.
I was always focused on studying, unlike Henry, who flaunted my black card around.
He treated the whole class to meals, bought them coffee, and took them to amusement parks and concerts, winning them over and gathering many followers.
That's how he earned his reputation as the school's kingpin.
He spent my money and secretly instructed others to bully me.
Chapter 6
The Rolls-Royce waiting to pick us up was parked by the side of the road outside the school gate.
I walked up and opened the car door. Henry climbed in with a sullen face.
He deliberately made it look like I was opening the door for him like he was some kind of young master.
He closed the door and rolled down the window. He urged, "Hurry up and get in. What are you standing there for?"
It was as if he was ordering a servant around.
"Look at her acting all high and mighty. A maid's daughter making Henry wait. That's too much."
"Henry, don't let her in the car. People like her should walk to and from school."
"Yeah, poor people should suffer. She doesn't deserve the luxury life. She'll just dirty up the car."
My classmates angrily hurled insults at me.
I lifted my chin slightly and ordered, "Get out."
I said this to Henry. I didn't want to share a car with trash.
Henry hesitated. With an ugly expression, he whispered, "Elena, you want to ruin everything? Aren't you afraid I'll tell everyone?"
I scoffed, shrugged, and said, "Go ahead.
"Get out."
Henry's expression changed. If he got out now, his wealthy young master act would be exposed.
He gritted his teeth, then raised his voice and shouted at me, "Then walk home yourself!"
He then ordered the driver, "Drive."
"But Miss hasn't gotten in the car yet," the driver hesitated.
"Do you want me to tell Mr. Howard about the two hundred thousand you accepted from me?"
The driver hit the gas, speeding off.
The door knocked me over. I was almost run over.
I stood up, covered in dust, while laughter erupted behind me.
"Haha, she walked right into that one! Serves her right."
"Yeah, Henry should put her in her place so she doesn't forget her status."
I ignored them and called my dad.
Leah walked over, poking my chest with her finger, full of disdain. "Someone like you, dreaming above your station. Why don't you look in the mirror? You're just a poor low-class nobody. How could Henry ever like you?"
The crowd erupted in laughter.
I swatted her hand away and ignored her.
She was so enraged she tried to hit me.
Just then, a private jet slowly landed on the field, catching everyone's attention.
A line of bodyguards descended from the plane, heading toward me amid the crowd's gasps.
They bowed to me.
"Miss, we're here to take you home."
"How is this possible?"
Everyone was stunned. Their eyes were wide in shock. They were unable to process what they were seeing.
It wasn't until they saw me board the plane that Leah snapped out of it and started yelling, "Elena, you used Henry's black card to show off! I'm going to tell him, and you'll regret it!"
She assumed I used Henry's black card to hire the bodyguards and the private jet. Furious, she wanted to report me.
I waved my hand and smirked. I couldn't wait to see how a maid's son would make me regret it.
