Chapter 1
On the night Amelia got pregnant, She discovered her husband Leo had impregnated a lady. He left a divorce agreement and despite Amelia's pleading, she couldn't keep him from leaving.
Six years later, she returned in a grand fashion.
Facing the man who had once abandoned her and was responsible for her brother's death, she sought revenge against him but the man begged for reconciliation.
Will she carry on with her revenge or give him a second chance?
- Let's Get A Divorce
Amelia watched the clock as it stroked at 11 pm still Leo wasn't back. 'Looks like he won't be coming home tonight,’ she thought.
Her heart sank as she began walking towards her bedroom.
Just then the sound of a light click came from the front door and her heart lifted as she hurried over. “Leo, you are back.”
Leo was wearing a dark cashmere coat and his tall figure looked even more handsome and cold in the cold winter. At the first sight of Amelia, he said, “Amelia I have something to tell you.”
Amelia was stunned and her intuition told her that something was off about Leo tonight. But she placed my hands on her slightly bulging belly and smiled.
“Sure, I also have something to tell you. I prepared your favorite meal, why don't you eat first, then we will discuss it later.”
“Sophia is pregnant, let's get a divorce!”
“What?”
Amelia swallowed painfully and her smile faded. It was like a heavy hammer had struck her and she stood there in disbelief.
Leo continued, “She is already three months gone. I promised Damien that I would take good care of her and I can't go back on my word. You have to give up your position as Mrs. Reynold, you have been occupying that position for three years now.”
Amelia felt a tickle in her eyes but she tried to hold back the tears. “No Leo you can't do this to me.”
“I have been faithful to you, I sacrificed everything for you even my career and now you got Sophia pregnant not only that you want to divorce me. Did the three years I spent as your wife mean nothing to you?”
Leo's face turned stone cold and he stared at her with no emotion. “It meant nothing to me Amelia, I never loved you and I never will, you are like a pest that has been hard to get rid of. Now that Sophia is pregnant I finally have a reason to get rid of you.”
The tears Amelia was trying hard to suppress finally streamed down her cheeks. She knew Leo never loved her but hearing him say it out loud shattered her heart into pieces.
“I won't divorce you.” She said vehemently, wiping the tears off her face and sniffing.
Leo's face darkened as he strode towards her. He held her chin tightly and she writhed in pain.
“It hurts Leo.”
“I will make life more miserable for you if you refuse. My grandfather isn't alive to save you from my wrath anymore.”
Just then his phone rang and he released her chin.
Leo answered the phone, and his face changed drastically after a few seconds. “What did you say? Sophia had an accident?”
“Take her to the hospital right away. I'll be right there. Make sure nothing happens to her and the baby.” He hung up the phone and was in a hurry to leave but Amelia grabbed him immediately.
“Where are you going? It's so late and you still want to go to Sophia? You can't go.”
Leo immediately shook her off and she fell hard on her butt “Sophia had an accident. Do you want me to sit back and watch her die knowing fully well she is pregnant with my child? Amelia, don't be so heartless.”
After he finished speaking, he pushed the door and walked out. Amelia's heart sank, and she felt all the grievances she had been suppressing for years suddenly burst out.
She rushed out and shouted. “I am your wife, Leo, do you want me to just sit back and watch you go to another woman without any reaction?”
Leo stopped, and his next words completely crushed her.
“Have you forgotten how you became my wife? I was forced to marry you. If it weren't for you back then, Damien wouldn't have died. I have put up with you for three years. Not sending you to jail was for the sake of our families’ reputation.”
Memories of the past flooded her mind and her face turned pale.
Three years ago, Amelia was about to marry into the Reynold family when news broke out that Leo had been in an accident and Damien had died trying to save him.
Afterward, all clues pointed to her, saying she had deliberately tampered with the car to cause the accident, due to lack of sufficient evidence the prosecution did not bring charges against her. She thought that this would prove her innocence, but it turned out that Leo never believed her.
Amelia's heart gradually sank as tears filled her eyes. “I didn't kill Damien, I have explained this to you many times. And you know how much I love you, why will I tamper with your car? Don't you think this is ridiculous?”
Leo sneered at her. “It is ridiculous and I ridiculously followed my grandfather's wish and married you, but do you know what I was thinking?”
“I was thinking about when you would die. Do you know how disgusted I feel every time I see you in the past three years? Every time I see you, I think of how Damien died. I wish you would go to hell immediately and accompany him.”
As if struck by lightning, Amelia stepped back in disbelief. Suddenly she remembered all the coldness and disgust Leo had shown her over the past few years. She had never understood why, and now she finally had the answer.
“So… this is what you think? You think I'm a murderer, I've explained to you over the past three years, and you still don't believe me?”
“Yes!” Leo answered without hesitation, looking at her as if she was a stranger.
“In my eyes, you are like a clown jumping around, making me not only disgusted but also not worthy of hating you. Because it would make my hatred for you cheap and dirty.”
Amelia shuddered violently and her body collapsed completely. They had been married for three years, and she had always known that there was a knot in Leo's heart.
She thought she could influence him with her efforts to trust her even if she couldn't make him love her, they could at least maintain a respectful relationship.
But the result… he not only wanted her dead, but also found her disgusting?
“I understand now, So in your heart, I am this kind of person. Leo, it turns out that all these years, it wasn't you who misunderstood me, but I who misunderstood you.”
Tears slid down her cheeks, and her body trembled in pain.
Leo's eyebrows twisted slightly and for a moment, his heart seemed to soften.
But the next second his phone rang again.
“Mr. Reynold, when are you coming? Miss Sophia is bleeding from her lower body, and the baby may not survive.”
Chapter 2
- Leo Wants Her Dead
Leo's eyes tightened and he quickly said, “Do everything you can to save the child, and nothing must happen to the mother. I'll be there right away.”
He didn't have time to think too much and hung up the phone before stuffing the divorce agreement into Amelia's arm.
“Just sign it and leave it at home. I'll send someone to pick it up later. Make sure you are gone before I return.” With that, he got into his car and hurriedly drove away.
Amelia held the divorce agreement and watched the car disappear into the distance, feeling as if her heart had turned to ashes.
Was there really no need to salvage this marriage? She didn't even bother to read the contents of the agreement, hastily signed it, and then packed a few of her clothes into a large suitcase before heading downstairs.
The maid, Dora, was surprised to see her carrying a large suitcase down so late at night. “Madam, where are you going?”
Amelia remembered Leo's words and sneered. “Don't call me madam anymore just call me Ms Amelia.”
He didn't like her as his wife and she didn't want to be one either.
Dora was speechless. Although she didn't know what happened between them, she had heard their argument just now and didn't dare to say anything more.
Amelia remembered something and took off a bracelet from her wrist. “Dora, your son was sick before and I couldn't do much to help. This bracelet is worth at least five thousand dollars. Take it and use it for your son's medical treatment.”
“I can't accept such a valuable thing ma.”
“It's okay,” Amelia said as she handed the bracelet to Dora.
Dora's eyes sparkled. “Thank you so much ma.”
The bracelet was a betrothal gift from Leo when they got married. Although a billionaire like Leo Reynolds, a bracelet seemed too shabby, it still showed his disdain for his wife.
But Amelia treasured it and had been wearing it all the time. Now that the marriage was over, she didn't need to keep it anymore.

Half an hour later, Amelia saw Henry, who came to pick her up.
Seeing her standing on the roadside in just a thin coat, Henry's eyes turned red.
“Why did you run out wearing so little? Where is Leo? I'll go and settle scores with him.”
She pulled him back. “Brother, forget it I'm a little cold, can you take me home first?”
Seeing her like this Henry quickly took off his coat and put it on her. “Okay, let me take you home first. We'll talk about it later.”
They arrived at Henry's apartment. After hearing the whole story, Henry was furious.
“This is outrageous, how could he treat you like this? Doesn't he know you are pregnant?”
“He doesn't know,” I said.
Henry was stunned. “Why?”
“I was about to inform him before he dropped the news of Sophia's pregnancy and asked for a divorce. Afterward, I couldn't bring myself to tell him. He doesn't deserve to know anymore.”
Her shoulders slumped, she looked downward as her lower lips quivered. “I’ve figured it out. A marriage without love is meaningless, even if you use a child to tie it together.”
“Before I was too naive. I thought even a block of ice could be slowly melted by warmth. But now I know, he's not ice, he's cold steel and cold steel can't be melted by warmth.”
“So, brother, I don't want to push it anymore, and I ask that you don't push it either. Just let it go, I have finally accepted the fact that Leo can never fall in love with me.”
“Don't worry if Leo doesn't want you, I am here. When this child is born, I'll help you raise him or her.”
Amelia smiled, acknowledging his kindness.
“What are you planning to do next? I can help you secure a job at the company.”
“Thank you bro but I don't think I want that. You know dad and mum will insist that I go back to Leo. I don't want them to know about the divorce until I'm gone.”
Henry tilted his head quizzically. “Gone? What do you mean?”
“I want to relocate abroad.”
“I studied business management in college and although I had been with Leo for three years, I still have some money in my account. I planned to use this money to study abroad and have my child at the same time.”
Henry didn't have any objections, in his opinion going abroad was a good idea. It would keep her far away from Leo and she wouldn't be hurt by him again in the future.
So, the two of them agreed to book their plane ticket and leave the next day.
Amelia stayed in Henry's apartment for the night. Unexpectedly, in the middle of the night, she heard a loud “clang!”
Immediately followed by Henry's angry roar. “Who are you people? you…”
She quickly got up from the bed and rushed to the living room, only to see four or five black-clothed masked men standing there.
She screamed in terror and instinctively tried to run away, but the next second, a cloth was pressed into her nose from behind. She smelled a strange odor and then knew nothing else.
They were dragged into a cruise ship. The kidnappers stripped off their clothes and took some ambiguous photos of them huddled together.
After sending the photos to the person who hired them, they called and asked, “How should we deal with these two?”
The person sneered over the phone. “Throw them into the sea to feed the fish. But it has to be disguised as an accident, do you understand?”
“We understand, we'll do it right away.”
After the cruise ship had sailed for a while, it suddenly hit a huge rock. Then seawater rushed in through the huge wound in the hull.
Amelia was awakened by the sea water choking her. She looked around at the seawater pouring in from all sides, feeling extremely frightened, and quickly shook Henry awake.
She also saw a speed boat not far away and desperately waved her arms.
“Hey! Help! Save us!”
But the wind brought only the men mocking laughter.
“Ms Amelia this is a gift from Mr Reynold no need to thank us.”
Amelia shuddered violently. Was this an order from Leo?
Chapter 3
- Brother, Please Don't Give Up!
Leo's heartless words rang in her ears once again. “Amelia I wonder when you will die, I wish you could go to hell right away and accompany Damien.”
Tears streamed down her face. ‘Leo, so you wanted to kill me from the beginning and never intended to let me go, right?’
Endless regret and pain overwhelmed her but in the end, it was Henry who pulled her back.
“Amy, don't waste time talking to them. These bastards clearly want to kill us. There is a huge reef over there, if we swim over with all our might, and grit our teeth, we'll be rescued.”
Following his finger, Amelia looked over and saw a dark, towering rock in the hazy night. Realizing this she nodded quickly. So the two of them swam with all their might towards the reef.
The winter sea was like a sharp knife cutting into them over and over again, almost like torture.
Fortunately, the distance wasn't too far and they soon arrived. However, Amelia was too exhausted to climb up.
“Amy, step on my shoulders and climb up. Grab unto the rock and don't let go.”
Amelia panicked and said, “No! What about you when I get up?’
“Don't worry, I still have strength and can climb by myself.”
Amelia didn't know if he was telling the truth, but seeing that he never let go, she could only grit her teeth and climb up with all her might.
After finally stabilizing herself, she quickly reached out her hand. “Brother, come up quickly! I'll pull you up.”
However, Henry just smiled weakly. The icy sea water had turned his lips and cheeks a dark blue, and his teeth were chattering as he spoke.
“Amy, I don't have the strength to come up. You can't pull me up either, in the end, we'll both die. This area of the sea isn't too remote. There is a good chance that a ship will pass by.”
“Listen to me, you need to conserve your strength and wait for someone to come and rescue you. Brother… Brother can only escort you here.” He spoke intermittently, his body sinking weakly downwards.
Amelia stared with wide eyes unable to believe that he was being swallowed up by the water bit by bit, it was as if a boulder had exploded in her chest, tearing her heart apart.
She sobbed, “Brother, please don't give up! Don't! Don't!”
***
“Ah, no!” Amelia woke up suddenly, sitting up in bed.
The warm sunlight shone through the window, and she breathed heavily, covered in cold sweat.
Just now she had another nightmare. It was like every dream she had in the past six years. She was lying on a cold stone, watching helplessly as Henry was swallowed up by the sea, feeling hopeless.
Amelia closed her eyes and tried to suppress her emotions. At that moment the bedroom door creaked open and two little ones burst in.
“Mummy!”
One was a boy and the other a girl. Although they have the same temperament and style, they are both very beautiful.
Amelia's expression quickly softened. “Why are you both here?”
The little girl Ella climbed onto the bed and touched the cold sweat on her body, asking worriedly, “Mummy, did you have a nightmare again?”
She smiled faintly. “No, mummy just did some yoga in bed and sweated a little.”
But then came the cold and indifferent voice of her son, Liam. “Mummy is lying, exercise only speeds up blood circulation and makes your face red, but your face is very pale so it's obvious that you had a nightmare. Did you dream about uncle again?”
Amelia froze.
These two children were too smart. Back then, Amelia was rescued abroad and was planning to have an abortion because she hated Leo.
But when she got on the operating table she regretted it, she couldn't imagine those cold instruments reaching into her belly and crushing her children, so she fled at the last minute and gave birth to her twins.
Now six years have passed, and she watched her two children grow up, adorable and clever, with astonishing talents and intelligence she couldn't help but feel incredibly lucky.
Amelia couldn't keep it from them any longer and smiled, “Yes Mummy dreamed of uncle again. Uncle's greatest wish was for you to study and make progress every day. So why did you skip class today?”
The two little ones hung their heads guiltily. Ella whispered, “The school lessons are too easy. My brother and I have already learned them.”
Liam on the other hand spoke coldly, “Actually, we knew you were going back to New York today, so we came to remind you.”
Amelia found it amusing. “What do I need to be reminded of?”
“A lot of things mum. First, when you go back to the country you are not allowed to look at other babies. You will always be ours, Ella and me.”
She suppressed a laugh and nodded. “Okay, I promise. Anything else?”
“Secondly if someone bullies you, you must tell us immediately. Don't keep it to yourself.”
A warm feeling washed over her. “Okay, I will.”
“Is there anything else?” She asked.
“Thirdly, and most importantly, you are not allowed to fall in love with that man again, even if he is our father. You must do everything in your power to strike him down, and preferably knock him to the ground so he can never stand up again.”
Amelia was stunned. The two little ones knew something about her and Leo.
It wasn't that she didn't want to keep it a secret, but she simply couldn't. Who knew where these two little ones had learned advanced hacking skills at such a young age, not even six yet?
They could access any news online, and no matter how much she tried to cover it up, they would eventually uncover the truth. So she decided to just spill everything they could handle.
Amelia fell silent for a few seconds before nodding. “I understand but Liam and Ella, Mummy told you this so you wouldn't hear it from someone else. You can't let this fill you with hate, it's not good for children to have that kind of feeling. You know?”
Those deep-seated grudges were enough for her to bear alone. She just wanted her two children to grow healthy and safe.
Ella nodded heavily. “I understand Mum.”
Liam also chimed in, “Mummy, I understand too.”
She finally smiled and rubbed their heads.
Just then a servant appeared at the door. “Miss Amelia, Mr. Wilson is looking for you.”
