Chapter 1
I once gave blood for him and donated my corneas for him,
and even got a kidney removed for his white moonlight.
He thought I was hopelessly in love with him.
In reality, I just wanted to die as quickly as possible.
If I died, I could go back.
'Even a dog wouldn't want to be stuck in this over-the-top, angsty CEO novel anymore!'
1
I once prayed to God for good health.
But now, I just hope heaven will take this disaster of a person off the world's hands.
In the third year of my failed mission to win him over and the start of my path to being tormented, I still hadn't died.
Seriously, does anyone get what I'm going through? Right before I was transmigrated into this over-the-top, angsty CEO novel, I had just won 300 million dollars in the lottery.
My life was just about to set sail.
I was all set to live it up on the bustling streets as an ambitious youth ready to let my dreams fly.
But then a piece of glass fell from the sky, and I was the only one who got hit.
The System bound itself to me and told me to win over the male lead of this angsty novel, Henrik Drakon.
He has a frail and sickly 'white moonlight', and I, the tragic heroine, am needed to donate blood, corneas, and even a kidney.
I had originally planned to just follow the plot. As long as I kicked the bucket, the mission would be over, and I could go back to being a little rich girl.
But it seems this world has quietly started to change.
Everyone has started to become self-aware.
For example, the butler, who was only supposed to say things like "It's been so long since Young Master Drakon has smiled like this," silently spoke up when he heard Henrik Drakon demand I give blood to his white moonlight.
"Young Master Drakon, Miss Shaw is type A, but Miss Linton has Panda Blood. Their blood types are incompatible."
Henrik Drakon frowned and was about to say something, but the butler spoke again.
"Panda Blood is a rare blood type, not the blood of a panda. Furthermore, pandas are a National Treasure. A thought like that is illegal."
Then there was his doctor friend, the one Henrik Drakon would summon to the villa late at night for his white moonlight's every little ache and pain. When he heard Henrik Drakon trying to force me to donate my corneas, he righteously refused.
"Forcing someone against their will is illegal. If I performed this surgery, I'd lose my medical license. Besides, I studied my butt off for over a decade, all the way to a Ph.D., and I've already lost half my hair. Giving up my entire future for you over this just isn't worth it."
So, time and time again, I managed to dodge these heart-wrenching plot points and have survived, alive and kicking, to this day.
Unwilling to give up, I checked with my System again.
"I can't complete the mission by killing myself, right?"
"Correct, Host. Your death must be logical and come at the hands of the male lead."
'Great. Just brilliant.'
'It's time for a new approach.'
At 8 AM, I knocked on Henrik Drakon's door with his breakfast.
In the original book, my family went bankrupt, and I owed Henrik Drakon a huge sum of money, forcing me to work as his maid to pay off the debt.
Just like always, Henrik Drakon didn't even give me a proper look and made things difficult for me, telling me to take the breakfast downstairs.
"I want to have breakfast downstairs today."
'And just yesterday, he said he wanted to eat in his room.'
I nodded and carried the breakfast downstairs.
Once I was sure no one was watching, I took out the laxative I'd prepared earlier and mixed it into Henrik Drakon's congee.
The pharmacist who sold it to me said one packet would be enough to clear him out completely.
But Henrik Drakon always has this dead, constipated look on his face, so I thought about it and added another packet.
Finally, even the System couldn't watch anymore.
"Host, are you trying to poison him, or... thicken a sauce?"
I stirred with all my might, finally mixing the last of the laxative thoroughly into the congee.
And then I watched with my own two eyes as Henrik Drakon ate it.
'Excellent. Step one of the plan is a success.'
Chapter 2
: The Plan
2
My plan was very simple.
Piss off Henrik Drakon and have him kill me.
It was logical and would be carried out by the male lead himself.
Absolutely perfect.
I felt like my 300 million dollars were already waving at me.
That day, in a rare turn of events, Henrik Drakon didn't go to work.
He was practically living in the bathroom, unable to leave, and even managed to clog the toilet.
When he finally emerged, his legs were trembling, and his complexion was even worse than usual.
He gave me a quick once-over before looking away.
"I doubt you'd dare."
'Who says I wouldn't! I totally would!'
It was probably because I had been so docile all these years that Henrik Drakon was under the mistaken impression I was hopelessly in love with him.
Now that I was rebelling, his suspicion didn't fall on me at all.
By the afternoon, Henrik Drakon was looking much better. He was preening in front of the full-length mirror; you didn't need to be a genius to know he was going to see Cecilia Linton.
"You're coming with me to the hospital later. You're getting tested as a kidney donor again. Ceci needs your kidney."
"Okay, I'm willing to give her both of them!"
'I'd even be fine with kicking the bucket right there on the operating table.'
Henrik Drakon frowned at me, looking like he wanted to say something but holding back. After a long moment, he finally looked away.
"Is there anything you've wanted recently? I can get it for you, within reason."
"No, no, that's not necessary!"
'I just want to hurry back and spend my 300 million dollars.'
I followed Henrik Drakon to the hospital. Before we even got to the inpatient wing, I was whisked away for tests.
This was because Cecilia Linton had once said she didn't want to see my face.
Of course, I knew why. I had once slapped her across the face with a mop I'd dipped in toilet water.
That was right after I transmigrated. I was still reeling from the loss of 300 million dollars and couldn't pull myself together.
I didn't even have the mental energy to deal with my mission.
But the main storyline had already begun. Back then, we were still in college.
It all started when the original owner of this body performed on the piano at a school celebration, and the male lead, Henrik Drakon, happened to give her a couple of interested glances.
This pissed off Cecilia Linton, who then started bullying the original owner.
When I transmigrated, I arrived right in the middle of one of her bullying sessions.
Cecilia Linton and a few other girls dragged me into the bathroom.
They slapped me across the face and threatened me to stay away from Henrik Drakon.
Unlike the original owner, who would just take the abuse, I'm not one to back down.
After they backed me into a corner, I picked up a nearby mop, jabbed it into a toilet bowl, and then held it up in front of me.
As the saying goes: a mop dipped in shit makes you Lu Bu reborn.
In an instant, the tables were turned.
With one "seasoned" mop, I managed to drive off all five girls.
And for good measure, I smacked Cecilia Linton with it a couple of times.
Only afterward did the System inform me that she was Henrik Drakon's white moonlight.
As a result, my favorability rating with Henrik Drakon plummeted into the negatives. My 'capture' mission had failed, so I had no choice but to obediently follow the original novel's plot and wait for the male lead to kill me.
The tests all went smoothly. I was humming a tune, eager to get home as soon as possible, when I walked toward the inpatient wing and saw a police car parked downstairs.
That bad feeling washed over me again.
And sure enough, a crowd of police officers was gathered at the door to Cecilia Linton's hospital room.
She was hiding behind Henrik Drakon, looking timidly at the crowd.
Just then, the young nurse stepped forward.
"Officer, I'm the one who called you. I just overheard them planning to force someone into an organ donation. They even mentioned a price—it's a textbook case of organ trafficking."
As she spoke, the young nurse took out her phone and played a recording.
"Henrik, thank you for coming to see me... for being with me in the final moments of my life."
"Don't be silly. You're going to be fine. I've already sent Lana Shaw for donor testing. As long as she's a match, we'll get you that new kidney right away."
"Thank you, Henrik. You're so good to me. But what if Lana Shaw doesn't agree? She already dislikes me."
"How could she not? Her family owes me 30 million dollars. Isn't that enough to buy one of her kidneys?"
Chapter 3
: Chain Reaction
3
After getting the details of the situation, the police officer turned his gaze to me.
"Miss Shaw, is what they're saying true? Were they trying to force you to donate an organ?"
My eyes met Henrik Drakon's, and he shot me a warning look.
'Are you kidding me? Isn't this the perfect time to provoke the male lead?'
"Yes, yes! I was forced! I owe their family money, and it wasn't enough that he made me work like a dog—now he wants me to donate a kidney too!"
With a THUD, I dropped to my knees and started wailing.
"Why am I so unlucky? My parents never loved me, and after they ran up a huge debt, they just abandoned me and jumped off a building! Now the daughter has to pay her parents' debts."
I cried so heart-wrenchingly that anyone who saw me would have been saddened, and anyone who heard me would have shed a tear.
The police officer shot Henrik Drakon a cold look.
"Well then, I'll have to ask you to come with me, sir."
As for Cecilia Linton, she was left at the hospital due to her poor health, where she would be under 24-hour police supervision to give her statement.
Henrik Drakon and I were taken to the police station.
Before getting into the car, the man's voice reached me, laced with danger.
"Lana Shaw, I underestimated you."
"I'm begging you, Mr. Drakon, please don't be angry."
My legs gave out, and I collapsed on the ground, clinging tightly to his calf. Henrik Drakon was stunned by this move.
"What are you doing? Are you possessed?"
"Mr. Drakon, please don't punish me! I can go back to doing chores and cleaning, I can work hard to pay off the debt, but I'm begging you—please don't kill me!"
The police stared at us in surprise. In the end, Henrik Drakon was personally escorted into the car by two burly officers.
Meanwhile, I was comforted by two female officers as I got into another police car to give my statement.
A 24-hour police interrogation is no joke. Anyone without a strong mental fortitude might just have a complete breakdown inside.
But when it comes down to it, the line for what constitutes forced organ donation is blurry.
Therefore, Henrik Drakon spent less than a day inside before the Drakon family members posted bail for him.
Henrik Drakon's cold, sinister eyes stared straight at me.
But I was filled with anticipation, secretly rubbing my hands together in my mind.
'Hurry up and kill me already!'
But before he could speak, a black official sedan pulled up in front of us. The window rolled halfway down, revealing half of a face, and Henrik Drakon's body tensed instinctively.
"Grandfather."
"After something like this, you've brought utter disgrace to the Drakon family name."
'Heh, as if the Drakon family has any face to lose.'
I stood off to the side in silence as a file was tossed out of the car.
"Cecilia Linton is perfectly healthy—there's nothing wrong with her at all! How far are you planning to go for this woman?!"
"What?!"
Stunned, Henrik Drakon picked up the file from the ground. He opened it to find a health report, and every single indicator was in the green.
"How could the Drakon Family produce an idiot like you? Getting played for a fool by some woman, even causing such a scandal… Were you planning on having a death on your hands?!"
Although I knew Cecilia Linton was healthy, I never thought the Drakon family members would find out so quickly.
After all, in the original plot, Henrik Drakon only learned the truth after I died. That's when he had his awakening, but by then, it was too late.
'Could this be the chain reaction I've caused by not following the plot?'
