Chapter 1
Elvis Frost and I were married by family, but I had loved him for many years.
I found that he changed the top of his Whatsapp to a young girl last night.
"You know about family alliances! I won't let her get pregnant, only you can be my child's mother!"
Later, she came to me with a pregnancy test report, and Elvis chose to ignore it.
I asked for a divorce, but he refused, so I had to sue him with a lawyer.
He said that he and that girl were friends in court.
"Jessica, please don't divorce. Let's go home now and have a baby!"
I smiled.
But now, he was not worthy anymore!
——
Elvis never hid anything from me, he didn't even avoid me when he received messages on his phone.
His Whatsapp top was me, with a profile picture of a bright red pomegranate and the nickname 'Kiss Kiss Honey'.
I just glanced at his phone and found something wrong.
A minute ago, I saw a picture I liked on Twitter and changed my profile picture.
But the one on Elvis's top was still my original profile picture.
The line of text displayed on the interface did not match the last sentence we chatted before.
I picked up my phone deliberately and looked at it. The last sentence was goodnight.
Elvis went on a business trip last week and he came back today.
That goodnight was said by me last night. I knew he was on a plane this morning, so I didn't send any message.
But the line displayed on his Whatsapp top only had three words, [animated emoji] I love you.
I rarely sent emojis to Elvis, either last night.
While Elvis was taking a shower, I saw his phone.
Click on the top, the chat content inside was hot and the expression was explicit.
The last two sentences that Elvis replied to her hurt me most.
[As usual, don't sleep with her tonight! Don't let her get pregnant!]
[Family marriage, you know! Don't worry, she has been taking the medicine! I won't let her get pregnant, only you can give birth to my child!]
I opened her Instagram, a lively and youthful girl, studying at Greenville, only in her sophomore year.
Greenville, the city where Elvis often traveled this year.
I exited the chat interface and closed the phone. My whole body couldn't stop trembling.
My fingers were numb, and I couldn't breathe because of the pain in my heart.
Chapter 2
Although Elvis and I were engaged in a family marriage, we had known each other for a long time.
I got engaged to 25-year-old Elvis when I was 18 years old.
At that time, Elvis was completely handsome, in my heart.
I returned home after completing my studies at 26 and married Elvis, who was 33 years old.
We had been married for two years, but I had not been pregnant.
Everyone was anxious, including me.
Except Elvis.
He withstood all the pressure and held me, saying that it was enough to live with me.
His hair was still dripping with water when he came out.
"Jessica, remember to take the medicine. I will ask the doctor to prescribe it for you after you finish taking it. If you get pregnant, you won't have to suffer anymore."
I hid the pill in my palm and pretended to swallow it with a glass of water.
I started preparing for pregnancy after marriage, and these pills were brought back by Elvis from the hospital.
Presumably, he had been with the young girl before this, and this medicine was his promise to her.
I hadn't been able to get pregnant for a long time. The fertility medicine I've been taking was actually contraceptive!
Elvis saw that I obediently finished taking the medicine and came forward to hug me.
"I'm too tired from the business trip. Shall I sleep in another room tonight, okay?"
I nodded silently.
Elvis slept in another room if he came late after his business trip.
He said it was too tired after work and he was afraid that snoring at night would affect me.
Now it seemed that this was also a promise he made to her.
I'm so silly.
I loved Elvis for a whole decade from the age of 18 to 28!
I was not even worthy of having a child for him in his mind!
I lay alone in bed and cried.
The wedding photo on the bedside was still bright and new, but I was old.
There was a loud noise outside the door before I finished crying. Someone was banging on it frantically.
This was a high-end villa area, and outsiders could not enter, except for our parents who had registered at the security office, there was no one else.
By the time I got up, Elvis had already hurriedly gone out, without even putting on his coat.
Through the crack in the door, I saw a slender figure, a young girl.
Soon, there was a fierce argument outside, the girl wanted to break in, and Elvis wanted to drive her away.
When the door was about to close, I grabbed it.
Chapter 3
Our eyes met. It was the girl whose WhatsApp was pinned by Elvis.
Elvis blocked me in front of him.
"Jessica, go back. I will explain to you later."
I didn't move.
"Who is she, and why can she enter our residence?"
Elvis's face sank, "Jessica, stop making trouble. I just said for you to go in first!"
This was the first time Elvis had spoken to me in such a harsh tone.
The girl was angry just now, but now she was laughing triumphantly.
"Yes, we celebrate every anniversary here, and the security guards here know me!"
Every one?
Is their anniversary around Christmas? Every Christmas after our marriage, Elvis would send me back to my parents' home in advance.
He said I was my parents' good girl, and I should accompany them at Christmas.
I didn't think I married the wrong person at that time. I wanted to be with Elvis for the rest of my life.
But he wanted to make room for another woman!
There was no need to guess. It was that girl who made the unreasonable request. What surprised me was that Elvis indulged her.
He was a principled person to everyone, including himself.
But he indulged her.
"Jessica, I don't want to say it for the third time. Go back first!"
Elvis lowered his voice and shouted at me.
That girl followed me home and provoked me unreasonably, but he never said a harsh word to her.
But he shouted at me for her. My parents had never shouted at me like this.
Also, he stood in front of me, was he protecting her?
The girl escaped from him and rushed towards me.
She was holding a paper report in her hand, and I caught sight of the words 'Maternity Hospital'.
I was afraid and tried to push her away.
Before I could touch her, I was forcefully pushed back.
Elvis protected the girl in his arms once again.
"Jessica, have you gone crazy! Lara is pregnant!"
There was something exploded in my mind, buzzing loudly.
He said he didn't like children, and he wasn't in a hurry to have kids. It was all an excuse.
He just didn't like the children I give birth to.
Elvis took that girl away and didn't come back all night.
I sat on the sofa until dawn.
Elvis didn't answer the phone, and he didn't reply to the messages I sent him.
He didn't even give a fake explanation!
After seven o'clock in the morning, there was a sound of opening the door at the entrance.
I thought it was Elvis who came back, but when I turned my head, I saw two people.
