Chapter 2

I had intended to leave in a dignified manner, but I had long since become a laughingstock.

"Room 3102, 20 boxes of beer and a cake ordered. Faye, you can deliver it," I heard the manager instruct.

Receiving the order, I pushed the beer cart into Flora's birthday party.

Darcy was sitting among his friends, watching them say mean things about me.

"Darcy, did Faye give you a hard time last night? This is all your fault for spoiling her!"

"Yes, I've never liked her from the start. She used to interfere with your relationship, and now she's always clinging to you, sending messages non-stop, not giving you any privacy. She was just a substitute for Flora, so why not divorce her when Flora comes back?"

I bit my lip and lowered my head, realizing that I had always been a ridiculous substitute.

Darcy's eyebrows twitched, frowning as he held his phone. He looked at it over and over again without receiving any messages.

He had a severe stomach problem and could not eat cold food or drink alcohol.

Usually, when he goes out to socialize, I would remind him.

But this time...

Flora interrupted them, smiling sweetly, her face flushed, and handed Darcy a cold beer.

"Come on, you guys can't make fun of Darcy.

"Faye is not like what you said. She let me have Darcy last night!"

Hearing this, Darcy's body stiffened for a moment, and he drained the entire glass in one gulp.

"Oh..."

The banquet hall erupted in cheers, and the atmosphere was ignited instantly.

Someone was cheering for them to kiss!

My expression remained unchanged, calmly opening the beer bottles one by one and pushing the cake over.

Flora looked at Darcy, her voice coy, "Oh, come on, you guys, don't be silly.

"Let's just eat the cake. I won't make a wish."

Darcy said with a frown. He patted her head lovingly. "Don't girls value the sense of rituals? I'll help you achieve any wish you make."

Hearing this, my hand hanging by my side trembled slightly.

It turned out that he understood a girl's sense of rituals.

But it differed in person.

Darcy's words once again pushed the atmosphere to a climax, Flora looked at him with a face full of happiness and affection.

I felt so heartbroken that I couldn't breathe, afraid to see the two of them kissing and not wanting to leave.

I should have known that a man's infidelity had only zero and countless times.

At that moment, I didn't want to witness how wonderful their love was.

But when I turned around, my wrist was grabbed tightly by Darcy.

His voice had no inflection, but it exerted a lot of pressure.

"Faye, why are you here? Do you want to be a rat in a sewer, spying on others' happiness?"

Darcy was angry.

I took a deep breath, smiling through the flickering candlelight, cold and distant, "The cake and beer have been delivered. Thank you for visiting Room 3102. Have fun!"

In this failed marriage, I was the one who ran away.

But Darcy didn't intend to let me go. He increased the force in his hand, trying to crush me, coldly cursing, "Don't you have any shame? Carrying the title of Mrs. Beck here doing this lowly job. Do you think I'm dead?"

He pulled out a bank card from his suit and threw it straight at my face, saying, "If you want money, is this enough? You scum!"

The pain on my face was nothing compared to the millionth of the pain in my heart.

He branded me with just a few words in a matter of seconds.

In his eyes, I was nothing more than a lowly worker who did dirty jobs and peeped at others' happiness all the time. I was like a clown.

I didn't bother to argue with him, my expression unchanged, and said calmly, "If there's nothing else, I'll leave first."

Darcy grabbed my hand tightly and said, "What are you being so sensitive about?"

Flora saw this and quickly came up to him, smiling and putting her arm around his arm, showing affection and a hint of anger, "Darcy, why are you always so mean to Faye? Since she's here, let's all play together."

"She doesn't deserve it!" Darcy said through gritted teeth.

I nodded and smiled.

As the door to the room closed, I heard the sound of broken glass and Flora's frightened scream.

"Oh! Darcy, what's wrong with you?"

Chapter 3

I was surprised.

Darcy had been calling my name in a faint voice during his coma, and his friends had been calling me one after another to come and have a look at him, but I had blocked them all in my blacklist.

I hadn't shown up.

This opportunity should have been given to Flora.

The next day after work, Darcy was sitting on the sofa with a sullen face, accusing me, "Faye, have I been too nice to you, spoiling you so much that you don't know your place?"

I didn't stop what I was doing, just smiling politely.

"Is this how you behave as a wife? I'm sick, and you don't even come to see me in the hospital. Are you hoping that I'll die there?"

Darcy's sudden mood swings made me a little annoyed.

I frowned and looked at him from head to toe with the same gaze he used to have on me, dismissively saying, "What are you yelling about? You're fine now, aren't you?"

Maybe he hadn't expected me to defy him, and his face fell immediately. He explained unhappily, "I have a stomachache, and I drank some iced beer."

In the past, I would have arranged a cup of hot milk for him.

But this time, I pretended to be confused and dismissive. "It's an old problem. What are you complaining about? You know you have a stomachache, and you still drink iced beer. You deserve it, and you're making yourself miserable."

As soon as I said that, Darcy's face turned pale.

He didn't think twice and grabbed his suit from the sofa, pointing at me angrily with his finger. "There's an important client tonight. Dress up nicely. Don't look like a girl who works in a bar. You're bringing shame to my face."

"I have an alcohol allergy. I can't go to your dinner party. You can ask Flora..."

But Darcy didn't even look back. The only sound I heard was the loud slamming of the door.

"If you don't want your mother's treatment fees to be stopped, you'd better listen to me."

I didn't expect that the important client that Darcy brought me to meet was his archenemy, Edwiin Davis.

This person was notorious for being heartless, playing with people's lives as if it were a simple game.

Before entering the room, Flora looked at me smugly and said, "Faye, you'd better be careful. I heard that Edwiin is not a good person. I never thought Darcy would bring you to this kind of place. It seems that you are not very important in his heart."

I was confused. When I was about to find an excuse to leave, I was pushed into the VIP room by Darcy before I could react.

Edwiin's eyes were rolling around, and he was examining me and Flora.

"Mr. Beck, you are so lucky to have two beautiful ladies accompanying you. Unlike me, I am alone.

"Come, I'll toast to you."

Darcy frowned but hesitated for only a second before picking up his glass.

"No!"

Flora's hand trembled, and she quickly grabbed him. "You have a stomachache, I'll drink it for you."

Darcy glanced at me with a cold voice, but his gaze towards Flora was soft.

"You have an allergy to alcohol, you can't drink it."

He pushed the glass in front of my table, with a carefree expression in his eyes. "Faye, why don't you have a drink for me?"

I bit my lip and wanted to refuse.

Darcy knew that I also had an allergy to alcohol.

He did this on purpose.

Edwiin squinted his eyes and changed the beer in the glass to Whiskey, pressing it against my lips, "This beautiful lady, are you also going to use this excuse to deceive me?

"If so, I think it's best not to talk about the cooperation with the Beck group."

I looked at Darcy with clenched fists, hoping that he could help me.

Darcy let out a cold laugh and opened her mouth without making a sound, saying, "Beg me."

It was clearly an intentional humiliation of me.

With a tight line on my lip, I closed my eyes and drank it all in one gulp.

The next moment, I felt dizzy and my ears were ringing, my vision was taken away, and I fell straight down.

Before my consciousness faded away, I saw Darcy rushing towards me in panic.

It seemed as if he cared about me just as much.

When I woke up, I smelled a strong cigarette odor and coughed involuntarily.

Darcy was standing by the window with his back to me, his long fingers holding a cigarette, with smoke rising from his fingertips.

When he saw that I was awake, he hesitated for a moment before extinguishing the cigarette with a cold expression.

"Faye, are you fucking crazy? You can't drink, it's simply self-inflicted!'

I didn't say anything and turned to the side to continue resting.

But Darcy suddenly got angry and punched the mirror on the bedside table.

Glass shards flew everywhere, and his fist was instantly covered in blood.

Then Flora shouted in surprise from the door, her face looking especially pale. "Darcy, the baby is gone, but it's not your fault. Why are you hurting yourself?

"Faye, you knew you were pregnant and still drank. You deliberately miscarried and blamed him instead. Do you have a conscience?"
