Chapter 4

“What have I taught you? I told you not to use my name to threaten other students. Did you even listen to me?

“You’re despicable! You aren’t a part of the Xander family from now on!

“I already spoke to the dean. Your disciplinary action has been upgraded to expulsion, effective immediately. I have to put my principles before my family. You’ll only grow after facing the consequences you deserve!”

The live chat erupted.

[What kind of jerk makes his own brother disown him?]

[And he is a university student! This person should be in jail!]

When I read the live chat, a storm of emotions churned in my chest.

Even though I had known Henry would betray me, it still hurt more than I expected.

It was only after my death in my past life that I learned the truth. Henry had always harbored feelings for Josie. That was why he had helped her frame his own brother without hesitation.

Since he no longer acknowledged me as family, why should I acknowledge him?

I clenched my fists and looked straight at him.

“Mind your words! If none of this is true, this will be considered slander.”

Henry’s face was filled with hatred and annoyance.

“Then tell me this. If Josie were framing someone, why would she choose you? Why not anyone else?”

As he said that, he kicked me in the foot, and I fell to my knees before Josie.

“Apologize to Josie now!”

I had no choice but to kneel before Josie.

“Look! Skyreach Group just issued a statement!”

One of the coursemates sneered at me as he read it aloud.

“After a thorough investigation, Skyreach Group has determined that Mr. Owen Xander’s conduct is incompatible with our corporate values. Effective immediately, his employment has been terminated. We also advise other companies to permanently blacklist Mr. Owen Xander.”

I froze.

Skyreach Group had fired me.

I had thought I could avoid Josie’s trap this time. But she was not just trying to ruin my reputation; she wanted to destroy me completely.

“What else do you have to say now?”

Henry spat in my face and turned to look at Josie.

“Josie, please rest assured. To express the university’s sincerest apologies, we’ve decided to award you the graduate school recommendation. You’ll also receive direct entry into my research lab.”

Josie looked at me with mock sympathy. Her eyes gleamed with undisguised delight.

“I’m sorry, Owen. I was truly traumatized by your harassment. I was only protecting myself. I’ll be continuing my postgraduate studies. As for you… it might be difficult to get a graduate recommendation now, don’t you think?

“No matter which university you apply to, they’ll receive my report. I won’t allow you to harass anyone else!”

When the live chat heard what she just said, they were overjoyed.

[Serves him right! A creep like that deserves nothing less!]

[Good riddance! Everyone, let’s mass report him and have him thrown in jail! I can’t stand someone like that being around anyone.]

[He deserves to be expelled! If he’s already harassing classmates at this age, imagine how toxic he’ll be in the future!]

I looked at them with a cold smile. Since they were so eager to crush me without mercy, why should I leave them even a shred of dignity?

I looked at my phone. The video I had scheduled was finally approved. It was uploading.

Someone exclaimed in the live chat.

[Look—he still has the nerve to post a video!]

People in the room fumbled for their phones. As they watched, the expressions on their faces slowly began to change.
