Chapter 1
The husband and his female secretary had an affair at a concert. After being caught by the live camera, he covered his face and dodged, which became a laughing stock on the entire Internet.
Secretary Sylvia Vance was exposed by netizens as a mistress, and she came to me crying and begged me to help her clear the name.
"Mrs. Foster, if you publicly declare that you were the one who cheated first, Mr. Foster and I will be spared the blame..."
I touched my eight-month-old belly and refused outright.
"You are the ones who are wrong. Why should I throw mud on you?"
When Adrian Foster heard this, he looked at me with a gloomy look.
"You knew Sylvia was suffering from depression. She'd been being cyberbullied these past few days and had been crying..."
I couldn't help but sneer.
"She can't stand being cyberbullied, so she wants a pregnant woman like me to be her shield?"
Adrian was silent and waved to the nanny to bring the pregnancy-maintaining medicine.
I drank it and fell into a coma. When I woke up, I found myself lying on the operating table, and the fetus in my belly was gone.
Not far away, Adrian and Sylvia were holding a black baby and showing it to the camera.
"Look everyone, this is irrefutable proof that my wife Victoria Chambers has been cheating on me with a black man!"
On the big screen next to me, the number of viewers in the live broadcast room exceeded one million, and countless barrages of comments filled the screen, scolding me for being shameless.
Enduring the severe pain from the cesarean section wound, I managed to sit up.
"Adrian, where have you hidden my real child?"
"If anything happens to my mother and me today, I'll bankrupt your Foster Group immediately!"
After hearing these two sentences, the barrage in the live broadcast room instantly exploded.
"What does she mean, the baby was switched? Is that so exciting!"
"Want to bankrupt the Foster family? I've looked through her social media accounts. She's just a housewife supported by her husband. She doesn't have that kind of ability."
"Is there something else going on? These people are probably just putting on a show, trying to hype it up!"
Unlike the excited netizens, Adrian's mouth twitched, and his smug expression just now became tense.
He knew in his heart that although the Foster family seemed to be in its heyday, it was actually all supported by the family foundation behind me.
He wants to slander me to clear his name and Sylvia's name. He is totally crazy.
Seeing that some people in the comments were beginning to doubt, Sylvia quickly ran over and grabbed my hand.
"Mrs. Foster, I know you're having your secret exposed in public and it's hard for you to accept it right now."
"But you shouldn't have lied and accused Mr. Foster and me of swapping your child!"
Adrian breathed a sigh of relief and looked at me with complicated eyes.
"Victoria, the facts are right in front of us, stop making trouble."
"As long as you admit your mistake publicly in front of the camera, I am willing to raise this child with you."
Now, the audience who had been skeptical just now immediately stood on Adrian's side...
"Even after being cuckolded, he's still so magnanimous. This Mr. Foster is no ordinary man. Brother, I admire him!"
"The steps are right before your eyes. I advise the cheating woman to admit her mistake right away!"
Looking at the rapidly scrolling barrage of comments, I wish I could tear the two dogs who are confusing right and wrong beside me into pieces.
It was clearly them who cheated, why should I take the blame!
I shook off Sylvia's hand and looked at the live camera with a determined look.
"I, Victoria, solemnly declare that I have never cheated on anyone in my marriage. It was Adrian and Sylvia who were the ones who betrayed me!"
Unfortunately, this sentence was nothing compared to Adrian's fabricated "ironclad evidence." The crowd on the screen was enraged, accusing me of being ungrateful.
"Don't be so stubborn. We just saw the nurse carry out a little black child with our own eyes. How could it be fake?"
"Mr. Foster is quite handsome, but his wife is having an affair with a black man. She's totally out of her mind."
Chapter 2
"Mr. Foster, forget about that bastard. I think you and Secretary Sylvia are a better match. I support you in pursuing true love!"
I was about to retort when Sylvia suddenly came closer and leaned over to whisper in my ear.
"Mrs. Foster, Mr. Foster asked me to tell you that as long as you cooperate with him in this play, you will still be his only president, Mrs. Foster."
"What man doesn't value his reputation? Please give in to him for the sake of our past friendship."
It turns out that when people are extremely angry, they will really laugh.
Foster Group is just the tip of the iceberg of the Chambers family's investment portfolio. Why did he think I would care about the title of President Mrs. Foster?
Seeing that I had no intention of giving in, Sylvia curled up a terrifying smile.
"Mrs. Foster, I advise you not to try any tricks. This is an isolated island purchased by the Foster family. Outsiders can't find it."
"Your own flesh and blood is still in our hands. Don't you care about her life or death?"
In a blind spot that the camera couldn't capture, she took out a mobile phone, and the picture showed a baby in an incubator.
The child looked very weak, with mucus still hanging on his body, and his small chest was weakly rising and falling.
"My child!"
I tried to reach out and grab the phone, but Sylvia dodged it easily.
"Mrs. Foster, your daughter was born before her due date. The situation is not optimistic."
"Mr. Foster said that if you don't cooperate, he will immediately stop all care for the child and turn her into nameless medical waste!"
I looked at Adrian in disbelief, his face expressionless, and my heart ached.
Just a month ago, this man was curled up in bed with me, counting on his fingers the due date of our baby.
But today, he is trying to force me to surrender by using my own daughter's life!
I no longer cared about the wound left by the caesarean section and rushed forward to grab the corner of Adrian's clothes.
"Adrian, you abuse your wife and daughter just to save the face of a mistress, are you still a human being?"
A flash of panic crossed the man's eyes. He took a deep breath and pushed me back onto the operating table.
"Victoria, if you continue to make trouble, don't blame me for being ruthless."
Sylvia on the side secretly took out her cell phone and waved it at me as if in protest.
The villain's succumbing appearance made some viewers in the live broadcast room suspicious.
"Something's wrong. I just saw Sylvia say something to the woman in labor, and that's why she suddenly broke down!"
"I saw that too! And they didn't allow the mother to return to the ward to rest after such a long Caesarian section. This is clearly inhumane."
"It's terrifying to think about it. Could it really be like what that woman said, that this was all a conspiracy between her husband and his mistress..."
Adrian obviously caught a glimpse of the comments and frowned.
Seeing that the situation was not good, Sylvia quickly walked in front of the camera to smooth things over.
"Don't get me wrong, I just saw Mrs. Foster looked haggard, and I wanted to ask her what was wrong. I don't know why I made her angry..."
"As for the issue of rest, Mrs. Foster has been mad at us and has absolutely refused to return to the ward..."
Before she finished speaking, her eyes were red and she lowered her head and covered her face with her hands, sobbing.
"It's all my fault. I saw that Mr. Foster was too upset because of Mrs. Foster's infidelity, so I invited him to the concert to relax."
"I never thought things would get to this point. Tomorrow I'll hand in my resignation to Mr. Foster, and we'll never meet again!"
Adrian was so distressed by her pitiful look that he put his arm around Sylvia's shoulders.
"Sylvia, don't be so silly! The one who is wrong is obviously Victoria, the woman who betrayed her family and refused to admit her mistake."
"It's because you're too kind that you've been innocently dragged into the whirlpool of public opinion..."
Chapter 3
Many comments were moved by the performance of the two and started to cheer on the spot.
"Wow, the affectionate boss and the cute secretary, you two should be together!"
"Really, don't worry about that woman who got played with by someone else. You two are the true love!"
Occasionally, a few passers-by questioned the truthfulness of Sylvia's words, but they were quickly drowned out by other comments that joined in the fun.
Just then, an old man with a cane came over, supported by his bodyguard.
"Rebellious son, what are you doing again!"
Adrian shuddered when he heard the familiar voice.
He hurriedly supported the old man, with a look of guilt that was hard to conceal in his eyes.
"Dad, why are you here..."
Robert Foster snorted coldly, raised his cane and hit Adrian hard on the back.
"Who told you to mess around here? Tell me the truth about where you hid my grandson, and then kneel down and apologize to your wife!"
The barrage of comments was stunned by the old man's majesty, and it took a while for them to react.
"What's going on? It seems Robert is on his daughter-in-law's side?"
"Parents usually side with their own children. I think there's something wrong with Mr. Foster!"
Seeing that public opinion was not in the right direction, Sylvia quickly stepped forward to explain to Robert.
"Mr. Foster, you just arrived here and don't understand the situation. Mrs. Foster really gave birth to a child..."
Robert was completely enraged and banged his cane on the floor.
"You rude thing! This is the Foster family's family affair, and it's not your turn as a vixen to butt in!"
When he saw me sweating from the pain on the operating table, he came forward anxiously to check on my condition.
"Good boy, it's my fault for not disciplining Adrian well, and you've suffered."
"Wait until I pick up my dear grandson, and then we'll go home together!"
Adrian panicked. He ignored filial piety and dignity and shouted at his father in frustration:
"Dad, you're getting old and confused! What kind of magic potion did Victoria put in you to make you protect her like this?"
Robert was furious and raised his cane again to hit Adrian, but was stopped by Sylvia.
"Mr. Foster, I've heard that you and Mrs. Foster's deceased mother...had a past. But you shouldn't wrongly accuse your own son in public just because of that!"
"Shut up! Don't you dare insult my mother!"
My anger suddenly reached my head, and I picked up the disinfectant next to me and threw it at Sylvia.
Robert was so angry that he was speechless after being slandered at his age. His face turned red and he fell to the ground holding his chest.
The servant nearby quickly called a nurse and sent the old man for emergency treatment.
I watched a big show with barrage, it was as lively as the Chinese New Year.
"Wow, how can you buy one and get one free when eating melon?"
"What's wrong with this Qiao family? Both mother and daughter are so promiscuous?"
Adrian watched Robert walk away, then immediately looked closely at Sylvia who was hit by me, and asked her repeatedly if she wanted to treat the wound.
Sylvia shook her head, sobbing softly as she covered her slightly red arm.
"I'm fine, but Mr. Foster..."
"It's all my fault for bringing that up, but I don't want Mr. Foster to get beaten for no reason..."
Adrian hugged the secretary in his arms with a distressed look on his face and comforted her softly.
"It's not your fault. Sylvia, you're just too naive, that's why you're always bullied."
He walked to my bed and slapped me in the face. My left ear suddenly started to ring sharply.
"Victoria, it's you who caused our father to become like that."
"If anything happens to the old man, I will not let you or your offspring go!"
He grabbed me by the collar and was about to say something harsh, but the cell phone in his pocket started ringing wildly.
