Chapter 3

Before tutoring Miya, I first took Yori to the school to handle the overseas study procedures.

The head teacher was a bit confused. "Yori's grades are so good that she might become the top scorer and win a huge bonus."

I smiled and explained, "Studying is just a part of life. As long as my Yori grows up happily, that's enough for our family. We don't lack money. Please keep this news confidential, as I'm afraid it may affect other students' preparations for the SAT. Yori will also take the TEST as a formality."

The teacher agreed. "Yori has been outstanding in studies and has won numerous competitions. It's good that she is going to study at a prestigious university abroad. The only worry is that your parents may not be willing to spend the money. Your open-mindedness is better for her future."

Yori asked doubtfully, "Mom, wasn't your and Dad's biggest wish that I could get into a key university? So I studied hard since I was young just to fulfill your wish."

Silly girl.

I hugged Yori's slim body tenderly.

"Mom's life goal is for you to have a safe, smooth, and happy life. Whether you can get into a good university or not is not that important. I have saved money for you, so you can pursue the life you truly want."

Yori seemed to understand but was not sure. "Mom, I promise to get a high score on the SAT to make you happy."

"No, sweetie. Promise me that you aim for the lowest score in the test, and try to get a zero. And all of this must be kept secret, especially from your dad."

Yori was silent for a moment and agreed.

"Okay, mom. Dad actually doesn't care about my affairs. I won't tell him."

Looking at Yori's disappointed face, my hatred for Ted grew even stronger.

I will get back what you owe our daughter, with interest.

With only one month left until the SAT, Miya started coming to my house for tutoring.

I tested Miya's grades and she was a complete failure in terms of academic performance.

Not to mention the difficult questions, she also got all the easy points wrong, which made me suspect that Miya might have got something wrong with her brain.

Yori was already working on the extension questions, while Miya was still staring at the first page of the multiple choice questions.

I tapped on her desk, and Miya gave me a confused look.

"Mrs. Smith, my foundation is weak. Are you intentionally giving me these difficult questions?"

I smiled and said, "Your foundation is weak, so just memorize all the answers, and you'll understand."

Miya naturally refused, pointing to Yori and saying, "Why is Yori doing the latest quizzes, while I have to memorize old ones?"

Getting new quizzes was easy.

I used Miya's mother's name to order a large batch of the latest quizzes from the bookstore downstairs for Miya.

"Shouldn't that be enough? Yori has also memorized them, and if you memorize them too, you can be as good as her," I said.

I didn't miss the flash of jealousy in Miya's eyes.

Yori had indeed memorized them, but she had been doing it for three years, and had learned to apply similar concepts and solve problems in different ways.

Miya would never be able to catch up to Yori.

What I was doing was just wearing down Miya's last bit of study enthusiasm.

Miya grudgingly memorized the quizzes, and in the evening when Ted came home, I heard Miya complaining to him.

"Uncle Ted, Mrs. Smith is so strict. She's making me memorize such thick quizzes, and I'm so tired and stressed out," Miya said.

Ted immediately got angry.

"Vivian! Are you purposely not teaching Miya well? She's just a little girl. She can't bear such exhaustion. Don't you have an easier way? You're a master, but you're so useless!"

I pretended to be innocent. "This is already the fastest way. There's no easy way to study. Yori used to do the same. Since Miya is smarter than Yori, she can definitely do it too."

After thinking for a while, Ted realized that what I said was true and couldn't refute it.

He had to turn back and comfort Miya, asking her to persevere.

Miya was unwilling.

Chapter 4

I was shaking with anger when I saw the yellow-haired delinquent again.

In the previous life, Miya was jealous of Yori's better academic performance and hired a delinquent to ruin Yori's life.

Although I discovered and stopped it in time, Yori was still greatly frightened.

However, Ted still sided with Miya and blamed Yori.

Miya used the same method as in the previous life, agreeing to let the delinquent climb up her balcony to my balcony and enter Yori's bedroom.

After tutoring Miya, I asked her if she wanted to see Yori's room.

Miya's eyes lit up.

I knew that she had always wanted to take over Yori's room, but because the room was designed by me, Yori cherished it and did not often let Miya in.

I pretended to prepare fruits and secretly observed from the doorway of the room.

I saw Miya wait for a while before touching Yori's items.

She touched everything, including blind boxes, figurines, and so on.

Miya sat at Yori's small vanity table and casually opened the jewelry box. Staring at the jewelry I had bought for Yori, her eyes wide open.

She was a shallow person. After hesitating for a moment, she slipped a diamond bracelet into her pants pocket.

The window made a sound, and I knew the fish had taken the bait.

I secretly locked the door and shouted, "Miya, I had gone to buy some food. Oh, why can't I open the door? You stay here by yourself. It must be rusty. I'll buy some lubricating oil back."

I closed the door, but the home surveillance camera's video feed was still being transmitted.

Miya asked, "Why did you come over during the day?"

The blond guy answered, "Wasn't it you who told me to come over at this time? Did I get the time wrong? Never mind. This house is so cool. Let's rehearse first."

This blond guy is Miya's boyfriend. The two of them have been together for a long time.

Looking at the shameless scene of the two in my daughter's bed in the video, I had a disgusted expression on my face.

I quickly contacted the property management and sealed my windows, saying that there might be thieves in my house.

Then I called the neighbors, the school leader, the police officer in the area, and the locksmith, and they all came to my house together.

Ted just entered the house and was puzzled. As the room door opened, two bodies were exposed inside.

Miya shouted and quickly covered her body with a quilt.

Ted realized that the person in the room was Miya, but still wanted to cover up for her.

"Yori, you unfilial daughter. Everyone, inside is my daughter Yori. I'm sorry for the embarrassment. Please leave."

Yori came out of the crowd at this time.

"Dad, I'm here. Why is Miya on my bed? And there's a man?"

Ted's face turned black. "Shut up, you brat. You're not allowed to ruin Miya's reputation!"

I sneered, "If you dare to do it, don't be afraid of others telling the truth. I kindly helped Miya with her lessons, but she actually brought a man to my house."

The neighbors all agreed, "Miya's mother is rumored to be involved in that kind of business. Her daughter is not simple."

Even the school leaders sighed, "The parents' living environment has such a big impact on the children. When we go back, we must have a meeting to discuss and pay attention to this matter."

Outside the door, Abby's voice came, "Ted, why is it so lively at home? Where is Miya?"

She saw the scene inside clearly and immediately took off her high heels and went in to hit Miya.

"You wicked girl! How could you do that?"

Ted quickly intervened, "Alright, alright, everyone disperse. It's all family matters."

Abby dragged Miya home, and everyone else also dispersed.

I stopped them and said, "Wait, something was missing. A diamond necklace worth 50,000 dollars is missing!"

Miya's face turned pale.
