Chapter 2

I shouted, pleading in my tone.

Vincent leaned forward to investigate, frowning slightly.

Obviously he also knew that my winter clothes were useless and it was no different whether I wore them or not.

I seized the opportunity and yelled, "Vincent, we agreed to have a baby!"

"Others don't know, but you don't know?"

"We've been trying to get pregnant for five years, and this might be our last chance!"

Vincent's sperm quality is not good and my constitution is cold.

It was very easy to get pregnant before, but the pregnancy died halfway.

Vincent and I have been working on our health over the years.

He gave up smoking and drinking, ate a healthy diet, and exercised every day.

During the years I was at The Bureau, my supervisor was very concerned about my health and found several well-known holistic therapies for me.

My colleagues rely on coffee to stay alive, but I rely on Holistic Therapy to stay awake.

During the worst period of drinking, I would feel nauseous and vomit bile whenever I smelled the medicine soup.

Now, my body has finally recovered and I will soon be able to become a parent as I wish.

But for the sake of a mere assistant, he left me, who had a cold body, in such a desperate situation.

He never thought that such an extreme approach would make all my efforts to get pregnant come to nothing.

A complicated look appeared in Vincent's eyes, as if he couldn't bear it.

He was about to say something when Scarlett interrupted him.

"Vincent, you'd better stop getting angry with my sister-in-law because of me."

"Although my sister-in-law made mistakes, she is the wife of the president of Kingsley Group after all. She has a noble status and is a member of a wealthy family."

"Unlike a poor man like me who comes from the countryside, whose life is worthless and can withstand the torment."

She looked strong on the outside, but tears welled up in her eyes.

It was as if he had endured a great injustice when he said this.

Seeing this, Vincent showed an expression of pity and doting.

When he looked at me again, his expression suddenly changed: "Compared to Scarlett, you are just a cheap country chicken."

"I built this huge Kingsley Group single-handedly."

"You spent six years in the outfield and gave nothing."

"Why do I rely on my status to act so arrogantly? What qualifications do I have to be called a royal concubine?"

He paused slightly, his eyes growing more disgusted: "Since you mentioned the child, don't say I didn't give you a chance."

"Now, kowtow and apologize to Scarlett immediately, and I will grant you the opportunity to continue the Foster family's lineage!"

"Otherwise, you will never be able to have my child in this life."

"After all, a child born from inferior genes like yours is really dispensable."

Hearing that, my blood boiled. "You want me to apologize for something I didn't do wrong? You're dreaming!"

Vincent also lost his temper and snapped, "Okay, then wait and see!"

"Don't blame me for not reminding you, the wind is blowing up there, and it will only get colder down there."

"I want to see how long you can be stubborn!"

Suddenly——

"Vincent, how long do you think my sister-in-law can hold on?"

A rich second-generation came up and asked.

Immediately afterwards, people around started to speculate, and the answers were so different that they almost started arguing.

Vincent interrupted loudly, "What's there to be fussing about? Let's open a bet and everyone's happy. Win or lose, everyone's happy."

So, at Vincent's suggestion, a gambling game began.

The person who asks the question first becomes the banker.

Vincent's lackeys placed bets and commented on my condition.

A few experienced people estimated my limit based on my current condition and ambient temperature and placed bets accordingly.

"I bet you five million dollars that my sister-in-law won't last more than twenty minutes."

The lackey shouted excitedly.

There was a commotion all around.

Every note is like a knife, stabbing my frozen heart.

Chapter 3

"Ten million dollars, I bet she can't last fifteen minutes."

Vincent's voice sounded, confident, assertive, and sure of victory.

My heart seemed to be shattered by a heavy hammer, and the debris turned into a deep humiliation that filled my chest.

I looked up stubbornly at the man above me. He was laughing wantonly.

This is the man I love deeply.

This is the man I once sacrificed my dreams for and gave up my job to be with.

This is the man I secretly support and send to the sky with all my heart and soul.

Ten years of true love has been wasted.

I just realized that I fell in love with a beast!

My fists were clenched so tightly that the knuckles turned white.

The tears that rolled out turned into ice beads as they fell, and shattered into pieces when they hit the ground.

I gritted my teeth and said word by word: "Vincent, are you still a human being?"

"You're worse than pigs and dogs, betting on your wife's pain for fun! I won't apologize, ever!"

A cold wind blew past, blowing away my curses and my remaining strength.

I slipped and fell to the ground, hitting my forehead and bleeding profusely.

The pain was so severe that I nearly had a stitch in the side and nearly suffered a cardiac arrest.

I tried hard to regulate my breathing and finally managed to stabilize my heartbeat.

Vincent seemed moved when he saw this scene.

Scarlett spoke again, "Sister-in-law, you'd better admit your mistake within fifteen minutes. Otherwise, if Vincent loses the bet, he will definitely be unhappy. You should know that Vincent cares about his reputation the most."

I struggled to get up, and blood gushed out of the wound on my forehead, staining half of my body red.

I tried to gather my strength and roared in a trembling voice, "You're using your wife's suffering to bet with others. A man worse than an animal has the nerve to say he cares about his reputation?"

As soon as I finished speaking, a stronger cold wind carrying thick water mist came towards me.

A biting coldness enveloped my whole body, and I felt like my body was no longer my own.

Suddenly, there was a sharp pain in my lower abdomen that went straight to my soul.

I know my body and what this pain means.

I know I can't hold on any longer.

"Vincent, if you're still human, pull me up!"

I looked up and saw blood mixed with condensed water droplets sliding down to my feet, blooming into dazzling red flowers on the white ice surface.

Seeing this, Vincent couldn't bear it after all.

But before he could say anything, Scarlett was already on the verge of tears: "It's almost fifteen minutes, Vincent is going to lose!"

"I didn't expect my sister-in-law to be so stubborn. She would rather let Vincent lose face than give in."

"Then let me kneel down and admit my mistake on behalf of my sister-in-law, put an end to this unpleasant situation, and save Vincent's face."

As she spoke, she was about to kneel down, but Vincent quickly stopped her.

He looked at Scarlett with fondness: "You are not the one who made the mistake, how can I let you suffer any more injustice?"

As she leaned over to look at me, her face was filled with disgust. "Eleanor, I really gave you face. You made a mistake and you let Scarlett take the blame for you."

Scarlett was firm: "Vincent, you don't have to worry about me being wronged. I have really forgiven my sister-in-law."

The more she said this, the more resentful Vincent became towards me.

Vincent said fondly, "Anyone who makes you feel wronged will pay the price."

"Especially someone like Eleanor who is confused. She must be taught a lesson that will last a long time."

My heart is as cold as ice, even colder than the temperature of this ice cave.

I struggled to move my frozen body and walked to an ice wall.

Under Vincent's contempt and the gloating gaze of a group of rich second-generations, he bit his finger.

Chapter 4

Then he wrote Vincent's name on the ice wall stroke by stroke.

Next, it's Scarlett.

Then there are the group of rich second-generations behind Vincent.

Bloody signatures were imprinted on the ice wall.

When I have written all over the ice wall, I will move.

Every time he moved, a few drops of eye-catching red were left under his feet.

If you look closely, you will find that my pants are stained with blood.

The blood did not come from the wound on his forehead, but from between his legs.

Vincent looked at the bloody words on the ice wall and felt shocked at first, then felt ashamed and angry at having his authority challenged.

He punched the air in front of him and yelled at me in frustration, "Eleanor, what do you mean by this?"

My lips trembled, and a sinister arc rose up: "Curse—If I live, you will die. If I die, you and your descendants will die together."

After saying that, I wrote this sentence with trembling fingers.

The handwriting was distorted because his arms were frozen, but every stroke contained hatred.

Vincent shuddered, and suddenly realized: What I wrote was a suicide note!

But this suicide note is a bit scary!

He suddenly remembered his father Walter's solemn warning -

"It is an honor and a blessing for our Foster family to marry Eleanor. You must never let Eleanor down, let alone bully her."

He suddenly remembered that the first time Walter hit him was because he was bored with and felt irresponsible about marriage.

He suddenly remembered the phone call I made - the firm tone in which I asked his father to come and see him for the last time.

"Vincent, why don't you just let your sister-in-law out? She's so scary when she's pretending to be crazy!"

Scarlett spoke at the right time, and simply pretending to be crazy dispelled all Vincent's doubts.

Vincent stared at me, his face dark as water could drip out of it. "I was wondering why you suddenly became so abnormal. Turns out you were just pretending to be crazy."

"You still have the energy to resort to such despicable tactics. It seems the punishment isn't severe enough!"

"If you want to act, then act. I'll accompany you and see how long you can act!"

A pale smile appeared on the corner of my mouth, and I looked at Vincent with hatred.

His lips opened and closed, spitting out his inner resentment: "I am in hell, waiting for everyone to reunite."

My body fell to the ground along with the words.

The blood from my lower body trickled down and spread rapidly under me.

I calculated my menstrual period to go home to visit my family.

I came here just to have a baby.

I didn't expect that this extreme environment would cause my period to start early with heavy bleeding.

I have a feeling that all the hardships and efforts I have endured for pregnancy over the years have been wasted with this hot blood.

The blood flows more and faster.

There is no sign of stopping.

In an instant, the ice beneath me turned red.

My face turned even paler in an instant.

I feel like my life is on the countdown.

All the rich second-generations brought by Vincent were stunned.

Subconsciously, they feel that the situation is about to get out of control.

And it is out of control in a direction that is not favorable to them.

Vincent witnessed this scene and finally panicked!

He roared angrily and suddenly kicked over a rich second-generation man beside him: "What are you standing there for? Go down and save them!"

Yet no one dared to move.

After all, it is very dangerous for non-professionals to rush down into this kind of ice cave with complex terrain.

Seeing no one answer, Vincent raised his voice: "What are you standing there for? Go save them!"

Scarlett suddenly knelt in front of Vincent, tears streaming down her face, "It's all my fault. I shouldn't have forced my sister-in-law to apologize to me just to save Vincent's face."
