Chapter 1
On the first of May, the day of my wedding—six different men showed up at my doorstep, each bringing along a child.
They all claimed the child was mine.
Worse yet, they had DNA test results to prove it.
My fiancé, Lester, arrived late and, upon seeing the scene, he flew into a rage. Without listening to a single word of explanation, he struck me across the face.
Then, the six men joined in—punching, kicking, and beating me to death.
Even as I lay dying, I didn’t understand—who were these men? I had never even met them. How could I possibly have had children with them?
The next moment, I opened my eyes—only to find myself back on April 30th.
The day before the wedding.
——
“Wifey, go to bed early. Tomorrow, you’ll be the most beautiful bride in the world. Love you~”
Lester’s voice came through the phone before he hung up. The steady beeping of the call ending made one thing painfully clear—I had been reborn.
In my past life, Lester and I were madly in love. Before the wedding, he treated me like a precious gem, never even daring to touch me. He protected me like I was the most fragile treasure in the world.
But on the day of our wedding, the moment those six men accused me, he never even let me explain. He raised his fist and turned his back on everything we shared.
The fear I felt then outweighed even the heartbreak.
Now, my top priority was to cancel the wedding!
I knocked on my parents’ bedroom door. When they opened it, a flicker of surprise crossed their faces.
“Amber? Why are you still awake this late?” my dad asked.
“Mom, Dad, I’ve decided to cancel tomorrow’s wedding.”
“What?!”
“I don’t agree with that!” My mom exclaimed, her reaction oddly intense.
They had never scolded me harshly—not once. After all, I was their only daughter, and they always indulged my wishes.
Maybe they thought I was just being willful this time.
Dad gently patted Mom’s shoulder and looked at me with a sigh.
“Amber, canceling a wedding isn’t something you can just say and do. Some of our distant relatives are already on their way. The banquet at the hotel is all set. It’s not that simple.”
“Did you have a fight with Lester? This is all our fault—spoiling you too much.”
I looked at them squarely in the eye. “Lester is cheating on me.”
In my past life, not only did he fail to come pick me up for the wedding, he also showed up late to the ceremony—with obvious hickeys on his neck.
“Impossible. You must be imagining things,” Mom said coldly.
That look in her eyes—it was so unfamiliar.
If this had happened before, the moment she heard Lester might be cheating, she would’ve marched straight to his house with me to confront him.
Taking a deep breath, I spat, “I’m not going to that wedding tomorrow. Please call the hotel and cancel.”
Our entire wedding had been arranged by my parents. Lester’s parents were both dead, and his older brother and sister-in-law had scrimped and saved to put him through college.
“If you cancel the wedding out of the blue, how are your father and I supposed to show our faces?” my mom snapped.
Those words suddenly felt familiar.
In my past life, when those six men ruined me and the gossip spread like wildfire, Mom had said the same thing.
“How could you do something like this behind our backs? You’ve completely embarrassed your father and me!”
Back then, I was too busy defending myself to notice how strange my parents’ reactions were.
Dad tried again, more gently this time.
“How about this—since you and Lester haven’t officially registered your marriage, just go through with the ceremony. If he really is cheating, you can divorce him afterward.”
He kept signaling Mom with his eyes. Eventually, she nodded in agreement.
“I’ve already sent a message in the family group chat. None of the relatives will be coming tomorrow.”
With that, I turned and walked into my bedroom.
It was my second life, and nothing matters more than life itself.
I will stay far away from those six mysterious men.
That night, I was plagued by nightmares.
At dawn, someone banged hard on my bedroom door.
“Amber, open this door right now! How dare you pull such a shameless stunt and then lock yourself inside!”
It was my mother’s voice.
A chill ran down my spine.
Something was wrong.
I must not open that door.
Chapter 2
I peeked out the window—only to see a crowd gathered outside, eager to watch the drama unfold.
We lived on the ground floor. If I tried to escape through the window now, I’d be caught instantly.
As I was still debating what to do, the bedroom door suddenly burst open—my father had kicked it down.
His face was grim, a look I had never seen before.
“Come out,” he said stiffly.
With my heart pounding, I forced myself to step into the living room.
There they were—those six men from my past life.
And the children.
My breath caught in my throat, and my mind went blank.
I had assumed my parents were just pressuring me to go through with the wedding. I never expected them to show up at my home.
The six children rushed toward me, surrounding me in an instant.
“Mommy!”
“Mommy!”
“Mommy!”
Their voices buzzed in my ears, sharp and overwhelming.
I looked at their faces—some of them actually shared vague resemblances to me. No wonder my parents believed them. Even I was starting to doubt myself for a split second.
“She always seemed so quiet and proper. Who knew she secretly had kids with six different men?”
“You don't know anything. Young people these days have such messy personal lives.”
“Those men are almost as old as her father, and they’re dressed like beggars. What did she see in them?”
“Maybe she’s into the mature type.”
“Old Hart, I’ve been single all my life. Let your daughter have a kid with me too!”
“Me too! I want one!”
“My wife’s been dead for twenty years. How about you spend a few nights with me?”
The neighbors' filthy gossip made my skin crawl.
And my parents? They just sat silently on the couch, completely indifferent.
I shoved the children away. “I’m not your mother! Stop calling me that!”
That one push was all it took, and chaos immediately exploded in the living room.
Crying, screaming—it all blended into one unbearable noise, attracting even more spectators.
It was a holiday, and by now, half the apartment complex must’ve been crowding at our door.
“How could you push your own children like that?”
“No matter what, they’re still your flesh and blood!”
“You were the one who insisted on having a child with me, and then you vanished after the baby was born!”
One of the men sat on the floor, hugging a little girl no older than three or four, wiping tears from his eyes.
“She said the same thing to you? So she lied to all six of us?! I spent years looking for her with our child!”
His child was one of the older ones.
The kids ranged from around three to eight years old.
I was still in school during that entire time. How on earth could I have had even one child?
My best friend Thalia could prove it!
In my last life, she had gone to confront Lester and missed everything that happened with these six men.
But I had already told her last night that the wedding was off. She hadn’t asked for a reason—just fully supported my decision.
I quickly reached for my phone to call her—only to have one of the men snatch it from my hand and smash it to the ground.
The screen shattered into pieces.
“You slut—trying to call your lover again? Are six men not enough for you? You really know how to act, huh?!”
“I heard you were getting married today. I want to see which man dares to marry a filthy whore like you!”
“What the hell is wrong with you?! I’m not the woman you’re looking for!” I shouted.
Rage surged through me as I stared at my broken phone.
“You’re still denying it?! You have a red birthmark on your shoulder, don’t you?”
“And two black moles on your lower back!”
“A red mole just above your left breast.”
“And a butterfly tattoo on your inner thigh.”
Everything they said was disturbingly accurate.
But I had never met them. I had never even slept with them.
“If you want to prove us wrong, then strip.”
“Yeah, take off your clothes. Let’s all see for ourselves.”
Chapter 3
“Take off your clothes!”
“Yeah, strip!”
“Look at her—bet she’s been dying to show off anyway.”
Before I could react, someone lunged forward and yanked open the buttons on my nightgown.
The red birthmark on my shoulder and the mole above my chest were instantly exposed—confirming, in everyone’s eyes, that I was the woman these men were looking for.
Overwhelmed with shame, I grabbed my torn clothes and crouched down, trying to cover myself.
“This is all just coincidence! I don’t even know them! Mom, Dad—please, get them out of here!”
Tears streamed down my face as I desperately looked around for my parents.
But the sofa where they’d been sitting was now empty—they were gone.
Seeing that I had no one to protect me, more people stormed inside.
They dragged me to the floor.
Someone tried to pull down my pants.
“Let’s see if she really has that butterfly tattoo on her ass!”
Hands groped me from every direction.
Disgust and helplessness surged through me. I struggled as hard as I could, but they pinned down my wrists and ankles.
“She had six kids and still looks this slutty. Tsk. She's born to be a whore.”
“Bet her hole’s all stretched out by now.”
“Nope, it’s still pink.”
“Get off me! Get the hell off me! I swear to God, I’ll call the police!”
One of the men slapped me across the face four times in a row. Blood filled my mouth.
“Call the cops? I should be the one calling the cops, you filthy slut. What’s the difference between you and a prostitute?”
“Everyone here gets a turn! One buck each!”
“Me! Me!”
“I’ll pay two!”
The humiliation was crushing, suffocating. For a moment, I truly wanted to die.
But my body was pinned down, and I couldn’t move an inch.
Had fate really given me a second chance... only to show me how powerless I still was?
“Amber, you disgusting whore! I waited for you at the hotel for hours, and this is what you were doing? An orgy with all these men?!”
Lester finally pushed through the crowd, dressed like the perfect gentleman in his tailored suit.
His eyes were filled with loathing, and pure disgust.
But right now, he was my only hope.
“Lester... please... help me...” I choked out.
“Help you? After you cheated on me with this many men?! You’ve got some nerve showing your face!”
He lifted his foot and stomped on my face.
“So you're the groom?” one of the men sneered.
“Damn, looks like you’re just as kinky as she is.”
“They say birds of a feather flock together—and it’s true.”
The men shoved Lester out into the living room.
That was when we heard the sound of police sirens outside.
“Her man called the cops!”
“No—it wasn’t me.”
Lester shrank back, shaking his head in fear. “It wasn’t me!”
“It was me.”
Thalia’s voice cut through the chaos like a blade.
It was like seeing a lifeline tossed into a storm.
She helped me get cleaned up and dressed in fresh clothes.
When I returned to the living room, the onlookers had already scattered.
Only the six men and their children remained.
Lester stood sheepishly by the door, while my parents were talking to two police officers.
“This is all just a misunderstanding, officers,” my mother said. "Our daughter, Amber, has no sense of shame—she's had so many children out of wedlock. We’re just an old couple, and we can’t even show our faces in public anymore..."
My father held my mother in his arms as she sobbed dramatically.
Everyone turned to look at me.
Their expressions were a mix of shock, scorn, and something else I couldn’t name.
Lester’s eyes were filled with fury, like he wanted to strangle me right then and there.
