Chapter 4
When Alex saw me, there was nervousness on his face. "Why are you out here already? Quickly, go back inside and have some rest. What if your cold worsens?"
I took down the necklace and gave it back to him and said, "It's fine. I'm not in the mood today, and it looks like you're not free anyway. I'm going back now."
I turned around and left, completely ignoring him as he asked me to stay. When he wasn't paying attention, I slipped into the café on the opposite side. Through the glass, I saw him go back to the shop and made a call.
After a while, an inconspicuous black car stopped in front of the shop and Lily came down. And in front of everyone, the two of them hugged each other and shared a deep kiss. The kiss was so deep that Lily's face became red.
However, the staff were seemingly unsurprised, as if something like this had already happened countless times. The designer, who said he was envious of me and Alex, smiled flatteringly, "I have to say. Lily has such a great body. She's shaped like an hourglass… No man can say no to her."
Alex didn't avert his gaze at all as he saw Lily's revealed skin on her chest.
"Of course."
The designer then sleazily stroked his chin. "Hehe… When I'm rich, I'll get a few of these for myself too. But if you ask me, Sophia looks quite good too. She's prettier than any werewolves that I have ever seen."
Alex's expression instantly turned cold. "You think you can speak her name without respect like that? If Sophia hears anything, I will make sure that you can't stay in the pack at all!"
"I… I'm sorry!"
The designer apologized continuously under the threat of the Alpha. He swore that he would forget everything that had happened and wouldn't let me know.
My hands holding the coffee cup couldn't stop shaking as I felt like cold water had just washed over me.
I escaped back home. Then, I immediately received a string of messages.
It was from Lily.
"You must be Sophia. I heard about your love story with Alex. It's so romantic! But now I have the same mate as you. Can you guess who he is?"
She then sent me a few pictures of her and Alex. One of them was when they were holding each other in front of the mirror. Another one was of them making passionate love in the car.
"See it? It's Alex! I'm telling you right now that I'm the woman he truly loves now. He told me that you're already outdated. You should leave him soon."
She then sent a large number of pictures before she even finished mocking me. They were all presents that Alex had sent to her.
I switched my phone off, with my expression cold. I stood on the balcony for a long time, thinking about my past with Alex. How could he act like he loved me so much when he was already sleeping with another woman?
Who was the one who truly had his heart?
"Sophia?" Alex's surprised voice came from behind. "Why are you standing here alone? It's getting cold. Don't catch a cold again."
He then held me in his arms, and I could smell an unfamiliar rose perfume on him.
"Alex…" I started as I looked into his eyes. "If one day, when you no longer love me. You have to tell me and not lie to me, alright?"
He smiled, confused. "How's that possible? Why will I not love you? Don't overthink things again. What do you want to eat tonight? I'll make it for you."
He smiled as he removed his jacket. I saw the red lipstick mark right under his collar. I sneered, but right at myself. How could he manage it? How could he say he loved me while sleeping with someone else?
"Cream cheese mushroom soup, then," I said. "You still remember it? That's the first ever dish you made for me."
At the time, he was still not the leader of the pack. He was just a young, inexperienced werewolf. But at the time, Alex loved me wholeheartedly and wouldn't care about other women.
We should end where we begin, I thought to myself.
"Sure," Alex said as he played with my hair. "I'll make it for you right now. I guarantee that it will be exactly the same as last time."
However, he was paying full attention over his phone that whole night with a faint smile on his face. I couldn't taste the food anymore. I had just wanted to put down my spoon when he suddenly stood up anxiously.
"I'm sorry, honey. Something happened at the company, and I need to go over it right now. It might take a very long time, so you should rest after you finish. Don't wait for me."
He quickly rushed out. It wasn't long until Lily sent me new photos. In the photo, Alex was wearing a bathrobe. There was no need to explain what was going to happen between them soon.
"See? Your Alpha is going to sleep with me soon. You've lost, Sophia."
I ignored it. I removed the SIM card and threw it into the bin. I left the house with my luggage.
'Goodbye, Alex.'
