Chapter 1

Broken diamonds lay upon the black marble floor that reflected the chandelier light. Power, money, control, fear, everything screams inside the penthouse. No one here dares to say a word without permission.

Men in black suits stood at every entrance with guns hidden beneath tailored jackets. The city stretched below the glass walls like prey beneath a throne. A throne is a symbol of the Moretti Empire.

And in the middle of it all sat Aiden Moretti.

King of the underworld.

He lounged lazily across the leather sofa; one arm stretched over the backrest while a cigar burned slowly between his fingers. Expensive rings glinted beneath the dim gold lights. His expression remained calm, coldly handsome, and terrifyingly relaxed. It was as if he hadn't just ended a few lives.

He is the kind of man who could order a city burned down while sipping whiskey. And people would thank him for it.

Across from him, his brothers occupied the room like predators in their own territory.

Lucien sat cleaning blood from a knife with a white cloth.

Damian leaned against the bar counter, drinking expensive wine.

Roman scrolled through financial reports while casually approving the destruction of three rival businesses through text.

And Victor?

Victor was laughing.

Because in his hand was a cream-colored envelope.

"A reunion invitation," he said mockingly.

The entire room went silent for one second.

Then Aiden chuckled.

Low.

Dangerous.

Amused.

"High school?" Damian scoffed. "Those idiots are still alive?"

Victor opened the envelope dramatically.

"Ten-Year Reunion Gala," he read. "Hosted by Saint Augustine Academy. Formal attire required."

Lucien snorted.

"Formal attire. Cute."

Roman didn't even look up from his phone.

"They probably want donations."

"They absolutely want donations," Victor agreed. "Apparently the school's going bankrupt."

That finally made Aiden laugh. A real laugh this time. Dark amusement echoed through the massive penthouse.

Saint Augustine Academy.

The same school where teachers trembled around him even back then. Where students worshipped him. Where girls followed him like desperate little things. They hope he will choose one of them as his future, as the empire's future, as his queen.

Isabella Vale once stood beside him in the same place.

The memory surfaced briefly before disappearing beneath years of arrogance and power.

Victor suddenly smirked.

"Oh."

Damian noticed immediately.

"That look means trouble."

Victor waved the invitation lazily.

"Guess who is listed under the alumni committee?"

Lucien glanced over. Then barked out a laugh.

"No fucking way."

Roman finally looked up.

"A name?"

Victor grinned.

"Isabella Vale."

The room exploded into amusement.

Damian nearly choked on his drink laughing.

"Sweet little Isabella?" he mocked. "Still alive?"

Lucien leaned back with a cruel grin.

"She used to follow Aiden around like a lost puppy."

"Correction," Victor said smugly. "She used to follow all of us around."

"She was annoying," Damian muttered.

"She was loyal," Roman corrected flatly.

Silence.

Then Lucien scoffed.

"Same thing."

Aiden remained quiet.

His gaze stayed fixed on the burning city outside. But the mention of Isabella dragged old memories from places he rarely touched anymore. A girl with soft eyes and stubborn determination. Always carrying books against her chest. Always trying to stop their fights.

Always looking at him like he was something human. Back before blood stained his hands permanently. Back before the empire. Back before fear became the only language he respected.

Victor laughed again.

"She actually signed the invitation personally."

He flipped the card dramatically.

"To all my old classmates. I hope life has treated you kindly."

Damian made a disgusted face.

"She always talked like that."

Lucien smirked cruelly.

"Bet she became a teacher or something pathetic."

"No," Victor said thoughtfully. "She probably married a broke office worker and now spends her days packing lunchboxes."

Roman gave a small, humorless smile.

"She always was weak."

That word settled heavily in the room.

Weak.

Isabella had always been weak.

Too soft.

Too emotional.

Too kind for people like them.

And kindness didn't survive in their world.

Aiden finally spoke.

Cold.

Dismissive.

"She was never meant to stand beside us."

The room quieted immediately.

Because when Aiden spoke, everyone listened. He took the invitation from Victor and looked at Isabella's signature.

Elegant handwriting.

Still neat.

Still delicate.

It irritated him for some reason.

It was as if time had failed to preserve anything about her.

"She wanted equality," Aiden said calmly. "Remember that?"

Damian laughed loudly.

"Oh God."

Lucien grinned wickedly.

"She used to argue with us constantly."

"She cried when we beat that senior half to death," Victor recalled with amusement.

Roman smirked faintly.

"She called us monsters."

Aiden's expression remained unreadable.

"She thought love could change people."

Silence.

Then he laughed softly.

Not warmly.

Not kindly.

Cruelly.

"How embarrassing."

Victor sprawled dramatically across the couch.

"I still remember when she demanded you stop Father's operations."

Damian burst out laughing again.

"She really thought Aiden would abandon an empire for her."

"She thought she mattered," Lucien corrected.

That sentence darkened the room. Because it was true.

Once upon a time, Isabella truly believed she mattered to them.

Back then, the Moretti brothers were dangerous already, but not untouchable yet. Rich heirs with violent tendencies. Sons of monsters inherit an empire dripping with blood. And Isabella.

She had stood in the middle of them fearlessly. Trying to pull humanity from wolves. A stupid mistake. Eventually power grew. Money multiplied. Bodies piled higher. And the gap between them became impossible to ignore. One night changed everything.

A charity gala.

Isabella arrived wearing a simple black dress while women around them dripped in diamonds and political influence. People laughed quietly behind her back. The brothers noticed. And instead of defending her,. They felt ashamed.

Ashamed of her simplicity. Of her softness. Of her humanity. That night Aiden looked at her and finally realized something horrifying. She looked ordinary.

And powerful men could not afford ordinary things beside them. So, he destroyed her himself before the world could mock him for loving her. The memory returned vividly now.

"You're embarrassing me," Aiden had said coldly that night.

Isabella stared at him like she'd been shot.

"Aiden..."

"You don't belong here."

Silence.

Pain.

Confusion.

Then Lucien added mercilessly,

"You were fun when we were younger, Bella. But look around."

Damian smirked.

"Do you seriously think someone like you can stand beside us?"

Roman's silence had hurt worst of all.

And Victor,

Victor laughed.

The brothers had watched her break apart as a unit.

Like a pack.

Aiden remembered her trembling hands. Remembered tears she tried not to show.

Remembered the exact moment she realized none of them loved her enough to choose her instead of power.

Then she left and never came back. Now, years later. Here they were again.

Kings.

Untouchable.

Feared across continents.

And Isabella?

Probably nothing.

Aiden tossed the invitation onto the table carelessly.

"Insect," he muttered.

Victor grinned.

"Still angry?"

"No," Aiden replied calmly. "Just uninterested."

Damian smirked.

"You think she will come running if she sees you again?"

Lucien laughed.

"She probably still loves him."

Roman finally closed his phone.

"Women like her don't move on easily."

Aiden leaned back lazily.

"She will look exactly the same."

"Weaker probably," Victor added.

"Older," Damian said cruelly.

"Still pathetic," Lucien finished.

The room filled with quiet amusement. Outside, thunder rolled over the city. A storm is approaching. Aiden picked up his whiskey glass slowly. Amber liquid reflected in his dark eyes.

"She wanted fairness," he murmured. "The world doesn't work that way."

Nobody argued. Because fairness truly didn't exist in their world.

Only power.

And they had all of it.

Victor suddenly grinned mischievously.

"We should go."

Damian blinked.

"To the reunion?"

"Yes."

Lucien smirked immediately.

"Oh, that sounds entertaining."

Roman's expression sharpened thoughtfully.

"The entire school would panic."

Victor laughed.

"Exactly."

Aiden stayed silent for several moments.

Then slowly. A dangerous smile appeared on his face.

Cold.

Arrogant.

Beautiful.

"Fine."

The brothers grinned instantly.

Aiden stood from the sofa, towering over the room with terrifying presence.

"Let's revisit the past."

Thunder cracked outside violently.

And somewhere far away. A woman named Isabella Vale had absolutely no idea that the devils she once loved were about to walk back into her life.

The devils also have no idea what is actually coming for them.

Chapter 2

Rain poured over the city in silver sheets. Black luxury SUVs cut through the storm like predators moving through darkness.

One after another.

Six identical vehicles.

Tinted windows.

Armed escorts.

Men with guns.

The reunion venue, a grand hotel rented by Saint Augustine Academy, glowed brightly beneath the stormy sky, filled with soft music, champagne-fueled laughter, and middle-aged alumni pretending life had turned out exactly how they dreamed.

Inside the ballroom, people mingled nervously beneath chandeliers.

Old classmates reunited. Teachers laughed too loudly. Business cards exchanged hands. Women compared jewelry.

Men compared success. Normal people. Normal lives.

The hotel entrance suddenly swung open.

And silence swallowed the room whole.

The first thing they saw was the bodyguards. Massive men in black suits entering with military precision.

Then came the brothers.

Lucien stepped in first, hands in his pockets, expensive black suit fitting him like sin itself. Tattoos disappeared beneath rolled sleeves while his cold gaze swept lazily across the room.

Victor followed beside him with a mocking smile already on his face.

Damian entered next, towering and terrifying, his mere presence enough to make several people physically step backward.

Roman walked in calmly while adjusting his gloves, looking less like a businessman and more like a man who ordered executions before breakfast.

And finally,

Aiden Moretti entered.

The kingpin.

The room froze.

Actually froze.

Wine glasses stopped midair. Conversations died instantly. Someone dropped a champagne flute. The sound shattered through the silence.

Nobody moved.

Nobody breathed.

Every single person in that ballroom now knew exactly who the Moretti brothers were.

Not rich heirs anymore.

Not violent teenagers.

Not spoiled boys.

No.

These were the men whispered about in newspapers and political circles. The underworld kings. The monsters behind disappearing politicians, burned companies, vanished rivals, and bodies that were never found.

People feared saying their names too loudly. And now those same devils stood inside a harmless high school reunion.

Victor looked around slowly.

Then burst out laughing.

"Oh my God," he mocked loudly. "They still look terrified."

Damian smirked darkly.

"Just like high school."

A teacher near the stage visibly paled.

Lucien noticed immediately.

"Look," he said amusedly. "Mr. Laurent still shakes when he sees us."

The old teacher stiffened instantly. His face lost all color.

Back in high school, Mr. Laurent once caught Damian beating another student unconscious behind the gym.

The next day Mr. Laurent apologized to them.

Not because they were innocent.

Because he was scared.

Roman tilted his head slightly.

"He aged horribly."

Victor grinned wickedly.

"Fear does that."

People immediately looked away when the brothers' eyes moved across the room. No one dared approach first. No one even knew what expression to make.

Shock?

Fear?

Respect?

One woman whispered shakily to her husband.

"Oh my God... that's Aiden Moretti..."

Her husband grabbed her arm immediately.

"Don't stare."

Aiden heard it.

Of course he did.

His lips curled slightly.

Power looked good on him.

The principal hurried forward nervously, nearly tripping over himself.

"M-Mr. Moretti," he stammered. "What an honor..."

Victor snorted.

"Honor?"

Lucien laughed.

"You used to suspend us every week."

The principal forced a weak laugh.

"Teenage boys are difficult sometimes..."

Damian stepped closer slowly. The principal immediately stopped breathing properly.

"But you never suspended us permanently," Damian said softly.

The older man swallowed hard. Because everyone knew why.

Money.

Influence.

Fear.

Even back then, the Moretti family had influence over judges, police officers, and politicians. The school had never been braved enough to touch them.

Aiden casually removed his gloves.

"We're not here for speeches."

The principal nodded immediately.

"O-Of course."

Roman's eyes slowly scanned the ballroom.

Searching.

Calculating.

Then he frowned slightly.

"She's not here."

Victor clicked his tongue.

"What a disappointment."

Lucien grabbed a champagne glass from a passing waiter.

"She gets invited and didn't even show up?"

Aiden remained expressionless. But his gaze sharpened subtly. The ballroom was decorated with framed photographs from different graduating years.

Old sports victories.

Dance committees.

Academic achievements.

Happy memories.

The brothers moved through the room slowly like wolves among sheep. People parted instantly to let them pass. Nobody wanted to be near them.

Several former classmates lowered their heads completely. It was as if making eye contact was dangerous. Victor laughed under his breath.

"They're still prey animals."

Damian smirked.

"Pathetic."

One former student finally forced himself to approach.

"N-Nice seeing you again, Aiden."

The man's voice shook visibly.

Aiden stared at him blankly for several seconds.

"What's your name?"

The man froze in humiliation.

Victor almost burst into laughter. "Oh, that's brutal."

"I-I was in your economics class..."

Aiden looked uninterested already.

Roman answered instead.

"Daniel Mercer."

The man looked shocked, Roman remembered.

Roman didn't smile.

"You cried after Lucien broke your nose."

Daniel immediately backed away.

The brothers laughed quietly. Cruelly. Because humiliation entertained them.

Always had.

As they continued walking, their eyes landed on one specific wall. Senior Year Memories. A collection of class photos. The brothers stopped. And for the first time that night, the amusement faded slightly. Because Isabella was there.

Frozen forever in a photograph.

Young.

Soft-faced.

Standing in the middle row with books hugged against her chest. A tiny smile on her lips.

Lucien stared at the picture.

"She looked so innocent."

Victor smirked.

"She was innocent."

Damian scoffed.

"That was the problem."

Aiden's eyes remained fixed on the photograph.

Isabella in the picture looked nothing like the women surrounding powerful men now.

No diamonds.

No arrogance.

No hunger for status.

Just warmth.

Simple warmth.

Roman suddenly noticed something strange.

"That's the only picture."

Silence.

Victor blinked.

"What?"

Roman gestured around the wall.

Every student had multiple photographs displayed.

Sports.

Clubs.

Graduation ceremonies.

Friend groups.

But Isabella,

Only one.

One single class photo.

Nothing else.

Lucien frowned slightly.

"That's odd."

Then someone nearby muttered nervously-

"Well... after the breakup..."

The brothers turned instantly.

A woman stood frozen beside them. Their former classmate.

Terrified, she spoke aloud.

Aiden's gaze locked onto her.

"What about after the breakup?"

The woman swallowed hard.

Nobody spoke.

The entire nearby group became tense immediately.

Victor smiled slowly. Dangerously.

"Answer him."

The woman looked visibly frightened now.

"She... um..."

Damian stepped forward.

And the entire room became colder.

"She what?"

The woman's hands trembled.

"She stopped coming to events."

Silence.

Another classmate finally whispered,

"People bullied her badly."

Lucien's expression hardened faintly. The man continued shakily.

"After you left her..."

Nobody breathed; the room understood instantly that this was dangerous territory. But the man kept talking anyway.

"People said horrible things. Called her delusional for thinking she could date Aiden Moretti seriously."

Another voice joined quietly.

"Girls were jealous of her."

"One teacher leaked private rumors."

"Parents told their kids not to associate with her anymore."

"She used to eat lunch alone."

Victor's mocking smile faded slightly.

The room stayed silent except for rain hitting the windows.

Aiden's expression remained unreadable. But something dark shifted behind his eyes.

The woman whispered softly, "She disappeared before graduation ended."

No one knew why those words made the room suddenly feel heavier.

Lucien looked back at Isabella's photograph.

Still smiling softly in that picture. Still looking at the camera with gentle eyes. Like none of it had happened yet.

Victor clicked his tongue irritably.

"She should've fought back."

Roman answered coldly.

"She was never built for cruelty."

Damian scoffed.

"Then she was weak."

But the word didn't sound as confident this time.

Aiden said nothing.

His gaze stayed fixed on Isabella's face in the photograph.

Young.

Trusting.

Breakable.

But what's done is done; weak people can never survive.

They sat on the table in the middle of the room, and the gathering continued, or at least people tried.

Then suddenly,

The ballroom doors opened.

Every head turned instantly.

Cold wind swept inside.

And someone walked in.

Chapter 3

The ballroom doors opened slowly.

Cold wind swept through the golden hall, making the chandeliers tremble faintly overhead.

And then,

She entered.

At first, nobody recognized her. How could they?

The woman walking into the reunion looked nothing like the soft, quiet Isabella Vale they remembered.

No.

This woman looked dangerous.

Elegant.

Untouchable.

The sound of her heels echoed across the marble floor with calm, measured confidence.

One step.

Then another.

The whole ballroom was watching in utter silence.

A long red gown that hugged her body like flowing silk, wrapping perfectly and flowing to the ground. Black opera gloves stretched up her arms, sharp and luxurious against the deep red fabric. Diamonds glittered faintly at her throat-not loud or desperate like the women surrounding politicians and businessmen tonight.

No.

Her wealth looked effortless. The kind that didn't need to scream. A black coat rested over her shoulders like royalty draping herself in darkness.

And Isabella...

God.

She had changed.

Her face had matured into something breathtakingly sharp and beautiful. Still soft enough to be mesmerizing but now touched with confidence powerful enough to silence rooms.

The old Isabella used to enter spaces apologetically.

This Isabella walked like the world already belonged to her.

Every eye followed her. Men stared openly. Women looked stunned. Several people physically straightened in their seats instinctively.

Even the air shifted around her.

Aiden's brothers froze completely.

Victor blinked first.

"What the fuck..."

Lucien slowly lowered his champagne glass.

Damian actually looked shocked for the first time that night.

Roman's eyes narrowed immediately.

And Aiden?

Aiden stared.

Completely still.

The ballroom around him vanished into silence.

Because the woman walking through the doors looked nothing like the "weak pathetic insect" he mocked hours ago.

No.

This woman looked richer than everyone in the room combined. More powerful too. Whispers exploded quietly around the ballroom.

"Is that Isabella?"

"No way..."

"She looks insane..."

"Oh my God..."

"She's beautiful..."

One woman whispered bitterly, "What happened to her?"

Victor muttered under his breath, "She happened."

Isabella didn't look toward the brothers immediately. That somehow made it worse. Because everyone else noticed them. Everyone else reacted.

But Isabella?

She walked past them without even a flicker of hesitation. Like they were unimportant. Like the kings of the underworld were merely decorations in the room.

And that,

That irritated Aiden instantly.

Her heels clicked softly across the ballroom as she moved with slow elegance.

Graceful.

Controlled.

Deadly calm.

Then she reached an empty table in the far corner of the room. The quietest table. Away from everyone. Away from attention. Classic Isabella.

But unlike the past, this time it didn't look lonely. It looked intentional.

A choice.

She removed the black coat from her shoulders carefully, revealing the full elegance of the crimson gown beneath. The room practically stopped breathing.

Even Lucien muttered quietly,

"I think I see Goodness; maybe we all die and finally reach heaven or hell."

Isabella handed the coat to a stunned waiter without sparing him a glance. Then she sat down gracefully. Crossed one leg over the other. And calmly picked up a glass of wine. Well, she judges the glass first like it's offended her personally.

And then she takes a first sip, like she hadn't just shattered the entire atmosphere of the reunion with her existence alone.

Silence ruled the ballroom.

Until suddenly, "Fuck. How is this even possible?"

The curse came from near the alumni table. Everyone turned instantly. A woman stood there staring at Isabella with visible panic on her face.

Claire Donovan. One of Isabella's former bullies.

Back in high school, Claire had practically led the humiliation campaign after Aiden abandoned Isabella publicly.

Cruel whispers.

Fake rumors.

Public embarrassment.

Cruel girls always sensed weakness. And old Isabella had been bleeding openly. Now Claire looked horrified. Because Isabella looked untouchable now.

And powerful people terrified bullies most.

Her husband hisses to her, "Sit down; she looks like she can make anyone cry." Don't humiliate yourself."

Victor noticed immediately.

"Well," he drawled lazily. "That's interesting."

Lucien smirked darkly.

"Looks like someone remembers their crimes."

Claire quickly looked away.

Too late.

Isabella had already noticed her. The ballroom held its breath. Because everyone expected confrontation. Expected anger. Expected revenge.

Instead,

Isabella simply lifted her wine glass. And smiled faintly.

Not warmly.

Not kindly.

A small, elegant smile sharp enough to cut skin. Then she took a slow sip. Completely unbothered.

Claire visibly paled.

Damian barked out a laugh. "Oh, that's cold."

Roman leaned slightly closer to Aiden. "She knows exactly what she's doing."

Yes.

She did.

Everything about Isabella tonight was deliberate.

The dress.

The confidence.

The silence.

The refusal to acknowledge them immediately.

It was power.

Pure power.

And Aiden hated how fascinating it was. His gaze remained locked onto her. She looked expensive.

Not flashy-rich.

Not desperate-rich.

Old money elegance.

The kind that didn't chase attention because attention naturally followed. Even the diamonds she wore were understated perfection.

Meanwhile, the entire ballroom buzzed with nervous whispers.

"How is this possible?"

"I heard she disappeared."

"She looks richer than the politicians here..."

"Who did she marry?"

That question spread rapidly.

Who did she marry?

Because no one believed Isabella could become this without someone powerful beside her.

Victor suddenly smirked. "Oh, I know that look."

Lucien glanced at Aiden. "He is irritated."

Damian grinned. "She ignored him."

Aiden remained calm externally. But inside his mind something ugly stirred. Because Isabella should have looked broken. That was the truth none of them would say aloud.

She should have looked wounded after what they did.

Smaller.

Sadder.

Instead, she entered glowing like revenge itself.

And somehow...

Somehow...

That made the Moretti brothers feel like the room belonged to her now.

Not them.

A waiter approached Isabella nervously. She thanked him softly.

Still polite.

Still composed.

Still Isabella, underneath all that terrifying elegance.

Roman noticed it first. "She hasn't changed completely."

Victor hummed. "No. She just learned how to survive."

Across the room, Claire kept staring anxiously.

Lucien noticed and laughed quietly. "She's terrified Isabella might expose what happened."

"She should be terrified," Damian said coldly.

Victor looked amused suddenly. "Interesting."

"What?"

Victor grinned wickedly. "The same people who destroyed her are now scared of her."

Silence.

Because it was true.

The atmosphere had changed completely since Isabella entered. Earlier everyone feared the Moretti brothers.

Now?

Now people kept glancing between Isabella and Aiden nervously.

Waiting.

Wondering.

What happens when the devil meets the woman he discarded? Aiden slowly picked up his whiskey glass. His eyes never left Isabella.

"She changed."

Lucien scoffed lightly.

"Money changes people."

"No," Roman said quietly.

"Pain does."

That sentence settled heavily between them. Meanwhile, Isabella calmly sipped her wine alone at the corner table.

Unbothered.

Elegant.

Untouchable.

As if she couldn't feel the entire room staring at her.

But then slowly her eyes lifted and finally met Aiden's across the ballroom. The entire room froze again.

Because Isabella Vale smiled.

Not lovingly.

Not bitterly.

Just calmly.

Like she was looking at a stranger.

Then she looked away first.

And somehow,

That hurt Aiden's pride far more than hatred ever could.

But then something else happens; she looks towards other brothers and then back to Aiden. And she looks at all of them one by one, from top to bottom, and she rolls her eyes like she just judges them so hard.

Which somehow shocked everyone more.

Did she just?
