Chapter 1

On the eve of my marriage with Matthew Moss, Emery Bradford, his first love, who had abandoned him, came back. She begged him to get back together with her.

Everyone mocked her for overestimating herself.

Only I could tell that Matthew, who seemed to hate her on the surface, missed her so much.

But was Emery of Matthew's having her on his mind for so many years?

At night, I sat on the sofa and flipped through the wedding dress booklet sent by the wedding planning team. Matthew was taking a shower in the bathroom.

Matthew's cell phone rang. I glanced at it and stopped what I was doing.

There was a string of numbers with no remarks, but I knew that it was from Emery, Matthew's first love of five years.

Taking a deep breath, I was in a bad mood.

"Matthew, your call."

The sound of running water in the bathroom stopped, and his voice came out. "Whose call is it?"

"From Emery."

He was silent for two seconds before saying, "Rosalia, hang up."

I moved my fingertips. Before I could hang up the phone, it stopped ringing, but I knew that it would ring again soon.

As Matthew's first love who abandoned him in his most difficult time, Emery was despised by everyone. Now she even wanted to get back together with him on the premise that Matthew had me as his fiancee. How shameless she was.

Since she returned from abroad, she had called Matthew every day. If Matthew didn't answer the phone, she would continue to call. Even though she was blacklisted, she would call him using other numbers. If Matthew answered her calls impatiently, she would cry without saying anything.

She cried so hard that I was no longer in the mood to get married.

When I finished flipping through the album, Matthew came out of the bathroom. He was covered with a bath towel. His strong chest was dripping with water, which rolled down from his waist to the mermaid line.

I had to admit that there was a reason why Emery couldn't let go of Matthew.

Matthew said as he wiped his hair with one hand, "She didn't call again, did she?"

"No."

"That's good. She's crazy." Matthew showed a look of disgust.

He sat next to me, took me in his arms, and sprayed warm breath on my neck. "Have you decided on the wedding dress?"

"No, I can't see anything just by looking at the pictures."

"Then let's go to the store. Try them on one by one until you are satisfied." Matthew reached out to stroke my hair and said in a firm tone, "My wife will definitely be the most beautiful bride!"

"Okay." I nodded slightly, pretending to be happy.

Matthew frowned, turned my face to look at him, and asked worriedly, "What's wrong with you, Rosalia?"

Just as I was about to speak, Matthew's cell phone rang again.

Matthew looked grim, saying, "Is there an end? Why didn't I find her so shameless before?"

"Answer it," I said wearily, "Otherwise, she'll keep calling."

Matthew hesitated for a moment before swiping up to answer the phone. He did not speak. As expected, there was cry coming from the other side. Emery cried gently and weakly, and her pain was felt through the phone.

Matthew took a deep breath and showed no mercy. He scolded Emery, "How many times do I have to fucking tell you that I'm getting married? Don't disturb me again!"

Emery stopped crying and became sadder. She sobbed and said, "Why? Matthew, we loved each other so deeply before. Why did you abandon me and marry someone else?"

Chapter 2

I frowned. Sometimes, I suspected that Emery had forgotten what had happened over three years. Three years ago, Matthew loved her the most, so she couldn't accept that Matthew was with another woman, alleging that Matthew had abandoned her.

Matthew's face twisted for a moment. Then he hung up the phone and turned it off.

Matthew quickly calmed down and coaxed me. "Rosalia, let's rest. Don't let this kind of lunatic affect your mood."

I nodded and lay on the bed. Matthew wrapped his arms around my waist and held me in his arms, making me feel the most secure.

"Go to bed, baby." He kissed my hair gently.

I tried my best to suppress the irritation in my heart and fell asleep.

In the middle of the night, I was awakened by thirst. Sitting up, I found that Matthew wasn't next to me. I touched it and found that it was cold.

I put on my clothes and went out of the room, only to see Matthew smoking on the balcony. The cigarette was flickering in his hands, and he looked lonely. Next to him, it was a vibrating cell phone.

I was despondent at this sight.

"Oh my god. Emery is so shameless! It was she who had abandoned Matthew at the beginning. Now that Matthew is rich, does she regret it? It's too late!"

"Rosalia, let me tell you. Don't be afraid! Matthew now loves you with all his heart. Emery is a thing of the past. No matter how much she makes a scene, it's useless."

It was my best friend, Lily, who defended me against the injustice. She was furious upon learning what Emery had done.

"I know. I don't care," I said with a faint smile.

"That's good." Lily looked at my face and breathed a sigh of relief. "Which wedding dress do you like?"

"Let's wait and see."

"Okay, but why doesn't Matthew come to accompany you to try the wedding dress?"

"He has a last-minute meeting and will be here later."

"That's more like it."

As soon as the shop assistant brought me the wedding dress, a figure rushed straight in and knelt in front of me. I was shocked.

"Miss Hawk, I beg you. You're so excellent that you can get any man you want. Please give Matthew back to me. I can't live without him."

Emery was wearing a white dress and had a gentle temperament. She cried delicately and elegantly, rendering her lovable, but I was disgusted. "Why is she so persistent!"

I looked at Emery with disgust, saying, "Emery, what does Matthew mean to you? Is he someone you can kick away when you don't want him, and take back when you want? He's a living person! He's not someone you can order around!“

"No, I didn't abandon him. I had no choice..." Emery kept shaking her head and speaking incoherently.

Lily couldn't stand it anymore, saying, "Don't you dare to admit what you've done? You are so disgusting!"

"Three years ago, Matthew's company went bankrupt, and his father committed suicide by bearing debts. When his mother was seriously ill, weren't you the one who abandoned him and went abroad? Weren't you the one that didn't contact him for three years? Why are you pretending to be miserable now?"

Lily's words made Emery tremble even more. Her face turned pale, and she collapsed to the ground.

The shop assistant was stunned by what she had heard.

"What are you doing here?" Matthew's voice rang out. It was unknown whether he was happy or angry.

Chapter 3

Emery got up from the ground and pounced on Matthew. Matthew dodged. She missed and almost fell to the ground.

"What on earth do you want to do?"

Matthew subconsciously reached out his hand and stopped, pursing his lips. I saw it all.

"Matthew." Emery's voice was sad and full of affection.

"Don't call me that!" Matthew shouted to stop her. "Emery, you will only disgust me more.

"It's over between us. It ended three years ago!

"The person I love now is Rosalia Hawk, not you!"

"No way, no way. Matthew, how can you not love me? How can you love someone else?" Looking pale, Emery was so fragile.

"I am worried about Emery's mental state," Lily whispered beside me.

Matthew didn't seem to want to talk to her anymore. He asked the shop assistant to drive Emery away.

Emery stubbornly shook her body and left without saying a word.

"Rosalia, I'll accompany you to try the wedding dress." Matthew turned his face to me and became good-tempered.

It seemed that Emery was just being unreasonable on her own.

The premise was that Matthew did not choose Emery's favorite wedding dress back then.

I stared at him and asked, "Do you think this dress looks good on me?"

"Yes." Matthew nodded. "This one suits you the best."

This wedding dress was obviously fit for a girl with a lean physique. I had a well-proportioned figure. My height was 168cm, which meant that this dress of lovely girl style wasn't my style at all.

Most importantly, I had seen a similar wedding dress before. It was a photo that Matthew had put in a book.

It was a wedding photo he and Emery had taken in the past. In the photo, they were beaming with joy, appearing as a perfect match. The wedding dress on Emery was the exact one in front of me.

Lily noticed that the wedding dress was not suitable for me. She wanted to say something but stopped on second thought.

Matthew suddenly received a phone call, saying that he had something to do in the company and could not accompany me any longer. Then he left in a hurry.

"What's going on?" Lily was speechless.

In the end, I chose another wedding dress. Looking at the embarrassed shop assistant, I suddenly felt tired. I wondered if my wedding could go smoothly.

I knew Matthew too well. When he faced Emery just now, there was nothing wrong with his expression and language, except for his subconscious action. He hated Emery mentally, but he subconsciously feared that she would be hurt. How ironic it was!

Emery showed up directly at Matthew's reunion party with his college classmates after she returned from abroad, and everyone was stunned.

"Who is so insensible? Why is Emery here? After all, Matthew's fiancee is here."

"She dares to show up again. Matthew won't be angry, will he?"

For a moment, everyone looked at Emery disdainfully one after another, but she was unaware as she stared straight at Matthew.

"Matthew, they said that you were getting married. I didn't believe it, so I came back for your clarification." As she spoke, she appeared vulnerable.

Under her gaze, Matthew nodded and took a sip of the wine.

He was calm as if he were facing a classmate whom he had not seen for many years. I breathed a sigh of relief. If Matthew's mood fluctuated too much, I would be nervous.

But at that time, I didn't see that Matthew's hand holding the glass was trembling slightly.

Tears fell from Emery's eyes instantly. She pointed at me and asked, "Do you love her?"
