Chapter 1
In the third year after I married Robert Park, we had our first fight.
He slapped me to the ground and questioned me in anger, "Cathy, why wasn't it you who died that year?"
Later he took Winnie Lauren who he really loved back.
I also listened to him and left the Park family.
As he wished, I would not appear in front of him again later.
Robert slapped me in the face.
I looked up at his handsome face calmly and said, "Let's get a divorce."
Robert looked grim and stared at me in disbelief, saying, "What did you say?"
I bent down and took out the divorce agreement from the drawer. I felt so heartbroken as if a stone was scratching my heart.
I handed him the agreement and hid the diagnosis.
"Since you thought me disgusting, let's get a divorce. From now on, you have nothing to do with me, and you don't have to be deal with a disgusting person like me anymore."
When I handed over the agreement was handed over, it was thrown to the ground.
I, who was holding the agreement, also fell to the ground.
I felt dizzy for a moment.
Before I could stand up again, Robert grabbed my chin tightly and said, "Cathy, what are you planning now? Do you think I dare not sign it?"
I closed my eyes and forced myself to look up at him provocatively with a smile, saying, "Who knows? Maybe you don't dare."
Not surprisingly, he looked extremely grim.
He looked at her with disgust.
I slapped his hand away and went upstairs to pack my things.
Before leaving, I couldn't help but look at the photo on the bedside table.
That was a photo taken when Robert and I were young, and our parents were also in it.
I was only six years old in the photo, and Robert was eight years old.
He stood beside me and looked at me with a smile. Our parents stood behind us and looked at him jokingly. Only I was looking at the camera and grinning.
At that time, Robert was still a gentle and polite boy.
But now, every time he saw me, he looked at me in disgust.
I probably would never come back again this time.
After thinking about it, I walked over and stuffed the photo into my backpack.
Even with the photo, my backpack was still quite empty. Besides being a little older, it looked the same as it was when I just entered the Park family.
At that time, I was still confident that even if my parents were gone, Robert would still protect me and always be by my side.
Mary, who took care of me, was standing downstairs, looking at me anxiously.
She wanted to persuade me, but when she saw Robert's gloomy expression, she didn't dare to say anything.
I went downstairs with my bag.
Robert sat on the sofa, reading a newspaper in his hand.
He was no longer angry but indifferent.
I walked over and picked up the agreement on the table.
After confirming that he had signed, I felt a lot more relieved.
I even sounded a little happy, "I will wait for you to finish the divorce procedure at 10 o'clock tomorrow morning."
He still didn't speak.
I had known him for fifteen years, and I knew he was still angry now.
He was angry that I irritated him and forced him to sign.
But so what?
I didn't want to be his wife anymore. It had been three years, and it was enough.
I changed my shoes at the entrance, opened the door, and walked out quickly.
Robert seemed to can't stand it anymore and threw the cup hard at my feet.
His furious voice came from behind, "Get out and never come back. Cathy, don't regret it!"
The hot coffee splashed onto my calves, causing stinging pain.
My hand shivered slightly.
But I walked out the door without hesitation.
After I went out, I found that it was raining outside.
I smiled bitterly. Now I had nothing to do with Robert anymore, so I shouldn't go back to get an umbrella.
It was just a rain. I would rather drenched to death outside than dying in that empty villa.
I walked into the rain with my backpack.
Robert's angry voice came from behind, "Get rid of all her stuff. Even her hair should be burned!"
The heavy rain soon blurred my vision.
I smiled with self-deprecation.
Robert and I had been married for three years. Except for a few pieces of clothing I brought three years ago, the rest of my stuff was all sent by Robert's men.
Everyone admired his love for me, but no one knew that every piece of clothing and accessories he sent me was locked with a combination lock.
If I wanted to wear or use them, I had to ask Robert's secretary and tell him my purpose and when I was going to use them.
There was water all over my face.
For a moment I couldn't tell whether it was my tears or rain.
An hour later, I got in a taxi.
Fortunately, the driver was willing to give me a ride for the sake of money, so I didn't freeze to death on the mountain road.
"Why did you leave home so late at night? Your parents must be so worried.
"Listen, call your parents when you arrive. Don't let them worry."
Listening to the driver's words, I didn't defend myself.
It had been many years since anyone cared about me like he did.
After my parents died, my family's company was divided up by my uncles, but they also left me a few properties.
One of them was not far from the company of Robert, and it was the closest one to Robert's villa.
I entered the code on the door lock.
But I was reminded that the password was wrong for three times.
I frowned and went to input my fingerprint, but as expected, I couldn't open the door.
Just when I was about to try again, the door was opened from the inside.
The nanny frowned at me, and when she recognized me, she calmly blocked me with her body.
I was soaked, carrying an old backpack, and shivering all over.
I said, "Let me in, I'm cold."
The nanny didn't move and said with an embarrassed look, "Ms. Perry, Mr. Park said you are not allowed to live here."
I stood there, confused for a moment.
But after seeing the nanny's uneasy look, I was sure that I had not heard it wrongly.
I frowned, thinking that Robert was crazy. I said, "This is the house my parents left me. He and I are divorced, so he has no right to ask me to leave here."
The nanny didn't dare to look at me and said, "Ms. Perry, this house now belongs to Mr. Park."
I closed my eyes.
There was no wind, but I felt chilling in my heart.
Chapter 2
I nodded, turned around, and left with my bag.
When I got into the elevator, I couldn't help crying.
Tears fell on the back of my hand, as heavy and fast as the rain outside.
Why would the house my parent left me belong to Robert?
Robert knew it very well.
When my parents died in a car accident, all my relatives showed up in Lyon.
They blocked me at my parents' funeral, holding various bills and recordings in their hands, and forced me to pay back the money for my parents.
Otherwise, they wouldn't allow my parents to be buried.
My parents borrowed money from them to take on a big project, and I should pay back the debt.
But many of them were lying. They came just for money.
At that time, Robert, who had just turned eighteen years old, dealt with them for me after he had almost cleaned up the mess of the Park family.
After that, I was afraid that they would target me again, so I made the property my parents left me as our common property.
I also wanted to do my best to make it up to him.
If it weren't for my birthday, his parents wouldn't have come back with my parents, and they wouldn't have died in that car accident.
Robert and I grew up together.
We also had an engagement that we made when we were young.
He would never bully me.
It thought it was ridiculous now.
People were fickle. No one and nothing could be completely trusted.
I walked out of the community in a daze and found a hotel to stay in.
In my dream, I just felt myself getting more and more dizzy, and there was a faint smell of blood at the tip of my nose.
I raised my hand and touched it, and then I vaguely realized that it was blood coming from my nose.
Even my mouth was filled with blood.
I sat up on the bed with my arms and walked to the bathroom in the darkness.
After a short while, the tissue I used to block the blood was soaked.
I looked at myself who was thin in the mirror and smiled slightly.
Robert hated me.
If he knew I was going to die, he would be happy, right?
I was diagnosed with acute leukemia during a physical examination more than a month ago.
At that time, the doctor looked gloomy and looked at me with pity.
He told me that I could only live for another six months at most, and even if there was a suitable bone marrow, it would be of no use to a patient with an acute illness like me.
He also told me that I needed someone to take care of me, otherwise I might suffocate to death in my sleep due to the blood blocking my throat.
I turned on the faucet with trembling hands and soaked my head in the ice water, hoping that the cold water would stop my bleeding.
Unfortunately, until the white porcelain basin turned blood red, my nose was still bleeding.
I took the phone and wanted to call the ambulance.
My cell phone just happened to ring, and it was from Robert.
Just like a a drowning person, I anxiously pressed the answer button with shaking hands, and even my tears flowed uncontrollably again.
Robert's mocking voice came, "Didn't you ask me to meet you at 10 o'clock today morning? Cathy, how dare you play tricks on me?"
At the same time, Winnie's soft voice sounded, "Cathy must have forgotten to set the alarm. Robert, don't be too angry."
I wanted to deny.
But blood flowed up my throat.
I couldn't help but cough violently, staining the entire mirror with blood.
There was a busy tone in the phone.
The sounds hit my heart.
I was terribly cold.
The ambulance came quickly, but before I could go to the hospital, I had to settle the hotel bill.
"Hey, isn't this Ms. Perry?"
As soon as I finished explaining my purpose, someone patted my shoulder.
I turned my head and saw Edward Farrow and Maria Norton holding his arm.
"Well, Cathy is married to Robert now, so she probably looks down on you now as her ex-boyfriend."
I forgot that this hotel belonged to the Norton family.
Edward looked at me with guilt and uneasiness in his eyes, but just like he did back then, he didn't say a word to defend me.
At this moment, the front desk brought out the bill and said, "Ms. Perry, the total is fifteen thousand dollars."
How could a pillow and a bed sheet be so expensive?
They cost fifteen thousand dollars, but I only had 50 thousand dollars in my card now.
"What's wrong? Did Robert abandon you? Can't you even afford 15 thousand dollars?"
Maria looked at me sarcastically.
I held the card so hard that my fingers turned pale.
Maria and Winnie had a very good relationship, so Maria should have known about my divorce from Robert.
I handed the card to the front desk and said, "Robert and I haven't finished our divorce procedure yet. Is Winnie impatient? Did she send you out to yell at me?"
Maria was so angry that she wanted to hit me.
I turned my head and stared at her coldly, saying, "Do you dare to hit me?"
I was still Robert's wife. If she hit me, she would humiliate the Park family.
Maria's face turned pale.
But I didn't have time to appreciate it. I could feel that the tampon in my nasal cavity had been soaked with blood.
Chapter 3
I was lying in the ambulance.
My vision started to blur again.
I guessed the blood in my body would stop flowing soon.
The medical staff treated me, and the bleeding finally stopped.
However, the doctor still asked me to stay in the hospital for observation for some time.
Unfortunately, I ran into Robert just after I came out of the doctor's office.
When he saw me, he was stunned for a moment.
For a moment, I was worried that he would come over and notice something was wrong with me.
But soon I realized that my thoughts were unnecessary.
A woman rushed over and put her hands affectionately hugged Robert's neck, saying, "Robert, the doctor said that I just have a cold. You don't have to worry about me so much."
Winnie, who Robert really loved, saved him back then.
She appeared after I got married to Robert.
There was a wound on her arm that was similar to Robert's.
Robert looked shocked at that time. His eyes kept moving between me and Winnie, and finally, he looked at me coldly.
I felt pain as I walked past them towards the elevator.
Robert's voice suddenly sounded, "Even if it's just a cold, you can't take it lightly. If it gets worse, you'll cry again."
I suddenly remembered the year when my parents passed away.
I fell seriously ill due to the death of my parents and the schemes of my relatives.
At that time, Robert always took care of me. He went to the company during the day and stayed with me in the hospital at night.
I was worried that he was too tired, so I insisted on leaving the hospital.
Because of my recurring high fever, I cried and asked him to hold me.
Now the person standing next to him and acting coquettishly had changed.
He once promised to only care for me, but he didn't keep his promise.
I wanted to cry.
I suppressed it and pressed the elevator button.
Behind me, Winnie glanced at me and asked in a low voice, "Who is that person? She looks like Cathy. Could it be that Cathy is also sick?"
Robert said coldly, "I don't know her. That woman is not worth your worry."
My heart felt like it was pricked by a needle.
It turned out that I was so insignificant in his eyes.
When I entered the elevator, I saw Edward.
He handed me a tissue.
Only then did I realize that my face was covered with tears.
I turned my body sideways, raised my hand to wipe my face fiercely with my sleeve, and said coldly, "No need."
The elevator door slowly closed, and through the gap in the door, I saw Robert and Winnie walking over.
I quickly went to turn off the elevator because I didn't want to be in the same space with them.
Edward glanced out through the crack in the door, frowned, and asked, "What on earth happened between you and him?"
I looked up at him instantly and said, "Aren't you very clear of what happened?"
Edward and I were classmates and he pursued me when we were in college.
I rejected it quickly and told him that I had a fiancé.
He did give up at that time, but after Winnie appeared, he also showed up at a party and told those people that I seduced countless men including him.
Most of those people were business partners of Robert, and the rumors were spread quickly.
They also got a lot of naked photos of my face.
"Cathy, I can explain it to you!"
Edward tried eagerly to grab my arm, but I pushed him away.
"Edward, you are disgusting."
