Chapter 2
I was devastated by the blow and was hit by a car while crossing the road in a daze.
In the hospital, I met Donnie, a doctor.
He personally took care of my leg injury and always made porridge for me.
Later, when I was discharged from the hospital after recovering from my injury, he came to see me and found me being molested by several men in an alley.
Seeing that I refused, they mocked me as an orphan who had killed my own parents. Donnie stood in front of me fearlessly and threatened them that he had called the police and then he drove them away.
Then he helped me back home and confessed his love to me.
Donnie said he fell in love with me at first sight and wanted to be with me and protect me for the rest of his life.
I once believed he truly loved me. But how could that be true, if he never touched me for two years and vanished without a trace time and time again?
At first, I blamed it on his flaws. But then, I realized he stayed not for love, but for something else entirely.
[Alas, it was because of seeing the heroine's blood test report that Donnie deliberately approached her.]
[Poor heroine, she didn't even know she was deceived by him.]
I looked at the comments, trying to suppress the pain in my heart and asked, “Donnie, do you really love me?”
Donnie was stunned, impatience flashing in his eyes as he answered, “Of course, how could I be so nice to you if I don’t love you?
“Go and light the candles.”
Anger welled up in my heart as I pushed him down hard on the bed.
“If I don't want to light candles, is that ok?” I asked again.
Donnie's expression indeed became panicked and tried to reason, “No! Can you turn off the lights and light candles instead?”
I sneered in my heart, but obediently stood up and picked up the lighter again.
Under his expectant eyes, I came closer to him holding a candle and the lighter. Then I questioned, “Donnie, can we order together?”
Donnie's face turned pale instantly. He wanted to lean back but found that his hands were tied.
“Don't make trouble. It's dangerous to do it in the sheets. Just do it on the table."
After confirming that there was definitely something wrong with the lighter, I decided to go to the banquet hall as soon as possible to check it out.
“Donnie, they said each staff member gets a $1000 tip! With that kind of money, I can finally buy you that watch you liked, so of course I should claim it. Wait for me here, okay?”
I pretended to take out my phone to check messages and ran out.
Through the crack in the banquet hall door, I saw Mr. Foster and his wife giving a speech on the stage, thanking the dignitaries who were present.
Next to Mr. and Mrs. Foster was a girl dressed in noble attire. She must be the fake daughter, Lena Foster.
[Wow! The heroine saw that her parents also have fake ones.]
The fake daughter took the microphone and started to cry, “Thank you, Mom, Dad, for never giving up on looking for me. Thank you for your love and protection for me over the past year.
“But I'm already 23 years old, it's time for me to repay you. Thank you, Mom, Dad, for giving me the opportunity to intern in the group. I love you."
My heart skipped a beat.
Did the Foster Family choose to reveal the identity of this fake daughter that day?
[Heroine, go stop them!]
[If we really let this bad fake daughter into the group, it would be like inviting a wolf into the house.]
[She coerced employees into bribing and flattering her, while secretly taking kickbacks behind the scenes. It was from this point that the reputation of the Foster Group began its slow descent into disgrace.]
My heart was beating wildly. But when I was about to push the door open and rush in, a hand suddenly grabbed my arm and dragged me back forcefully.
“Rachel, you must have been deceived by them, right? I heard the Foster Family didn't give out any huge tips at all!
“This must be a prank. You will be punished when you go in.”
It was Donnie.
If it were in the past, I would really listen to it.
Chapter 3
After all, if a waiter like me suddenly barged into such an occasion, I would be fired.
But at that time, I was not afraid anymore.
I had to find out the truth as soon as possible.
I pried his hand apart and threw it back, then strode forward and pushed open the door of the banquet hall.
Donnie behind me exclaimed, attracting the attention of Lena on the stage.
Her face changed drastically and she covered her chest with her hands, looked painful and leaned on Mrs. Foster.
Mr. and Mrs. Foster quickly helped her off the stage.
The banquet hall was in an uproar.
[Damn it, this fake girl pretended to be sick when she saw that she was about to be exposed.]
[Hurry up, heroine. Let your parents see your face!]
Under the urging barrage of comments, I rushed inside, shouting, “Wait a minute! She is fake, I am the real daughter of the Foster Family.”
The whole place was in an uproar and Mr. and Mrs. Foster finally noticed the commotion here.
The manager rushed over to block their view and scolded me in a low voice, “Didn't you ask for leave? Why are you here to cause trouble now?
“Get out of here, or I'll fire you!”
Donnie rushed over and hugged me.
“Of course, I know you owe a large gambling debt, but you can't go crazy and pretend to be the daughter of the Foster Group, Rachel.”
“What? This gambler actually wants to impersonate Miss Foster. Is she trying to save her own life?”
Everyone was talking about it. Just as Mr. and Mrs. Foster were about to come over, their attention was drawn back to them by Lena's wailing.
I pushed Donnie away and yelled, “You're talking nonsense! When did I ever gamble?
“Mr. Potts, if you don't want to lose your job, I advise you to get out of the way!”
The manager seemed to have heard a huge joke.
“Rachel, I think you've drunk too much fake wine. How dare you act so rudely here? Come on, throw her out!”
I was pinned down by four coworkers and the manager slapped me on the face.
“I'm going to fire you right now, get out!”
I was extremely anxious and while struggling, I suddenly had an idea and kicked over the champagne tower next to me.
Amid the shattering glass and the crowd's exclamations, Mr. and Mrs. Foster looked over again.
Mrs. Foster Glanced at my face and her expression changed drastically.
She let go of Lena's hand and walked towards me quickly.
“Mrs. Foster, I'm sorry, our female employee has suddenly gone insane. I'm afraid she might be in danger. Please take your daughter away first.”
The manager stood in front of me with an apologetic smile on his face.
But Mr. Foster ignored him and ordered his men to let me go.
I pushed the manager aside and spoke quickly, “Mrs. Foster, she is fake. I am the real daughter of the Foster Family who was kidnapped.”
When Mr. Foster, the richest man who came over, saw my face clearly, he took a breath of cold air.
“Wifey, how come she looks exactly like you when you were young?”
The two of them looked at me, then at Lena who had come over.
Everyone was shocked.
“Really, this waitress looks more like her than Lena.”
Mrs. Foster hurried forward and looked at my face carefully.
I quickly said, “Mrs. Foster, I am your biological daughter, she is a fake!”
[The heroine did a great job. Hurry up and expose this faker!]
As soon as the barrage of comments was over, Donnie rushed over and grabbed my arm again.
“I'm sorry, Mrs. Foster. It was my negligence! My girlfriend was also in the hospital that day.
“After she saw your appearance, she went crazy and thought she was your biological daughter and she even came here to make trouble."
Mrs. Foster was surprised and said, “Doctor Donnie? I remember you were the one who did the paternity test for us!”
The whole audience was in an uproar.
“It seems that what the doctor said is right. His girlfriend must be jealous and crazy and she wants to get close to the Foster Family.”
“Right. Didn't that doctor just say she was a gambler? She must have lost so much money that she wanted to cheat people out of money."
Chapter 4
Mrs. Foster's face turned completely dark.
“There are so many people who look alike in the world. If you want to deceive me with just this face, you are still a little naive.”
Upon hearing this, the manager raised his foot and kicked me hard in the face as he scolded, “This little bitch is so bold, beat her up!”
I fell into the debris of the champagne tower and was covered in blood.
Several colleagues punched and kicked me and my face soon became swollen and purple.
“But I didn't lie…."
Before I could finish my words, the manager picked up a bottle of wine and smashed it into my mouth.
“Shut up!”
Shards of glass pierced my lips and I screamed in pain.
The manager took the opportunity to poke the broken bottle into my mouth and I vomited blood.
The glass shards were embedded in my tongue and it hurt so much that I could not speak.
Lena, who had been very nervous just before, finally breathed a sigh of relief at this moment.
Her eyes were red with grievance and she cried, “Dad, Mom. It's only been two years since you found me and someone is trying to harm me and replace me. It makes my heart ache.”
She covered her chest again and pretended to be in pain.
“Don't be afraid, my dear daughter. Your father and I will protect you. We will take you to see a doctor right now."
Seeing that the two were about to be deceived by Lena again, I stood up despite the severe pain and tried to stop them.
“Where are you trying to go, little bitch?!”
The manager grabbed my collar and tried to pull me back and there was a ripping sound.
My shirt was ripped and everyone laughed.
“I didn't expect this chick to have such a good figure."
Mrs. Foster turned her head and glanced at my shoulder, her face changed drastically and she rushed over to me.
She reached out and carefully touched the birthmark on my left shoulder and said in a trembling voice, “Hubby, come and see!”
Mr. Foster came over and took a look, his eyes were full of shock.
“Have you had this birthmark since childhood?”
I was speechless and could only nod my head desperately.
“My daughter had this black crescent birthmark on her shoulder when she was born. How come you have it too?”
“Could it be that she is really our daughter?”
[God has mercy on us. The heroine was so miserable, she was beaten so badly that she almost forgot she had a birthmark.]
I was extremely moved, but I did not expect Lena to lift up her skirt to reveal her shoulders.
“Dad, Mom, I have this birthmark too. It's fake.”
Everyone looked and sure enough, she also had a black crescent birthmark on her shoulder, exactly the same as mine.
My heart sank and I immediately realized that it must be Donnie's doing.
Sure enough, Donnie sighed.
He explained that I wanted to impersonate Lena, so I forced him to take a picture of Lena's birthmark during the examination.
So that I could get a tattoo based on it.
Donnie took out his phone and inside it was a photo of Lena lying in the examination room with her birthmark exposed.
Then he took out many photos of strange women and handed them to them.
“This is what Rachel looked like before. She had plastic surgery to look like Miss Foster.”
My eyes were bloodshot and my heart ached as if it was stabbed by a knife.
Why? I had been so good to him for two years, why would he hurt me?
[This scumbag is too vicious. The heroine should find old photos to prove herself.]
Reminded by the barrage of comments, I took out my phone to look for my old photos.
But I found that all my old photos were gone. They were not even in the cloud.
I remembered that when I changed my mobile phone a year ago, Donnie volunteered to help me transfer the data.
I was afraid that at that time, he destroyed all my old photos.
[Damn, this rotten cucumber is really poisonous. It is determined not to let the heroine turn over.]
Seeing me holding the phone in frustration and rage, Lena started crying at the right time.
