“It’s a message from the Yorks.” Harvey frowned slightly.

The Yorks was the most influential family in South Light. At first, Harvey had been the rightful heir.

But three years ago, somebody in the family wrongly accused him and claimed that he had embezzled the company’s funds. Therefore, his identity as their heir was eliminated.

The entire York family had the same opinion and Harvey was disowned instantly. Furthermore, his parents were directly sent abroad and he had never met them since.

“Bullsh*t! The truth is I have nothing but only twenty dollars in my pocket. The family needs financial support. What's the point of looking for me?”

As he was thinking about that, he received another message on his phone.

“Sir, I’m begging you now. Please help us! Didn’t you purchase some stocks of a gold mine three years ago? Recently, someone found that there’s a great amount of gold in that gold mine. Now, the stock price of that gold mine has increased tremendously!”

“Now, the company’s funding has been cut off and we need your help immediately. Otherwise, our family will be ruined!”

Harvey was confused.

He was stunned for a short while. During that year, he did invest tens of millions of dollars on that gold mine. It was also the reason why the Yorks claimed that he had embezzled the company’s funds, and he was disowned consequently.

It had not even been three years, and they found out that that gold mine was loaded with a substantial amount of gold, and hence tremendously increasing it’s stock price too. “WTF, is that real?!”

The next moment, Harvey swiftly fished out a black bank card faster than ever.

That black card had been abandoned for three years. It was a tool which could signify one’s prestige all over the world. It was said that whoever owned that card, would have all their requests granted no matter where they were.

He soon contacted the 24-hour customer service hotline on the card. He heard a sweet female voice at the other end of the phone. “Dear Mr. York, good day. May I know if there’s anything I can help you with?”

“Please help me to check the balance in my account!”

“No problem. Please hold on for a moment,” she said politely. The next moment, her voice clearly faltered and she sounded shocked. “Mr. York… the balance in your account is so tremendous that it’s been locked away for safety purposes. I couldn’t check for you given my position. I’ll go and apply for it now. May I call you back in a short while?”

“No problem.” Harvey hung up at once.

‘The amount of money is so huge that the account is locked away for safety purposes.’

He burst into laughter. Unexpectedly, he casually took tens of millions of dollars and invested in that just for fun. He never thought that that kind of investment could provide him with such a huge surprise. Harvey did not even know how much money he owned now.

Harvey walked home at a leisurely pace. When he reached home, Mandy had long driven home by then.

On the other hand, there were two other ladies in the living room. From afar, he could see that one of them was charming and sexy while the other was cute and lovely. Furthermore, Mandy was exceptionally beautiful and elegant.

It was Mandy and her two best friends. The sexy lady was called Cecilia Zachary while the cute lady was called Angel Quinn.

The three of them ignored Harvey as he entered the living room.

Angel who sat at the side sighed at that moment. She then said, “Mandy, let’s talk about serious matters. I heard that your company is having some issues?”

Mandy rubbed her temples. She replied, “Yes. A few days ago, my company faced some funding issues. Now we’re in need of five million dollars. If I don't get the money soon, I’m afraid that my company…”

Angel sighed and said, “But Mandy, it’s not easy to obtain five million dollars in such a short time…”

The sexy lady—Cecilia who sat beside them nodded slightly too.

Mandy looked at their responses and realized that they were of no help to her. When she saw Harvey standing there, she became quite flustered. She could not help but glaring at him. She scolded, “Harvey, what the f^ck are you doing here? Can you please just get f^ck out of my way! Go and do the laundry! Remember to hand wash them with warm water. If their colors fade, I’ll make sure you sleep in the hallway tonight!”

He was about to go and wash the clothes obediently when his phone suddenly rang. Surprisingly, it was a call from the 24-hour customer service of the black card.

Harvey answered the call and he heard the sweet lady’s voice again. “Dear Mr. York, after looking into it, we found that your entire property is held in an offshore account. If we dig deeper into it, we might breach your privacy. We suggest that you give us a call when you’re free. Then we’ll send someone to invite you to the headquarters of Niumhi immediately, so that you can check the account balance yourself. Do you agree to that?”

Harvey muttered. “Alright, but why do I have to get into so much trouble just to check the balance of an offshore account?”

As he said that, he hung up the phone.

“Mandy, your husband is indeed amusing.” Angel could not help but burst into laughter. “He wants to check the balance of his offshore account. Did he watch a lot of TV shows? Does he even know what an offshore account is?”

Hearing that, Mandy smiled too. She then said, “He might have overheard that when I was talking on the phone with Dad a few days ago. Does he assume that all bank accounts are called offshore accounts? But I always give him a hundred dollars as his pocket money every day. I wonder he should have saved quite a lot of money since it's been three years.”

“Mandy, you have a good pet with you. He’s quite thrifty!” Cecilia smiled faintly. In fact, they could not help but be amused.

At that moment, Harvey became quite anxious and rushed towards Mandy. He said to his wife seriously, “Dear, is your company in need of five million dollars? Why don’t… you let me help you resolve that?”

Cecilia burst into a roar of laughter. She was indeed a sexy woman, so when she moved around vigorously, she seemed particularly energetic and charming. At that moment, she threw a glance at Harvey and said, “Harvey, do you even know how much five million dollars is? Don’t you mix it up with five hundred dollars. Even if you saved your 100 dollars pocket money everyday, how could you even be able to have five millions dollars?”

Harvey sneered. “What if I can?”

Cecilia scoffed. “If you’re able to take out five millions dollars, I’ll kneel down in front of you and address you as my dad!” She burst into laughter.

“Is that so?” Harvey smiled. He then said meaningfully, “Then please remember what you said. Don’t you break your promise.”

Mandy rubbed her temple beside them. She then waved her hand and said, “That’s more than enough. Stop daydreaming here. It’s really embarrassing.”

Harvey said lightly, “Fine.” He did not dare to defend himself.

That night, Harvey still slept in the study room. He did not quite believe that sudden good news, and was so excited that he couldn't sleep all night.

“This is indeed not a dream!” Harvey could not help but pat his face slightly. “I’ll need to go to the bank tomorrow to check just how much money I own.”

He had a restless night. The next day, Harvey pushed his electric bike out early in the morning. Surprisingly, he found that someone had thrown a battery there for him. After thinking about it for a while, he knew that it was Mandy who had done that. The others from the Zimmers were not so kind as to do such a thing.

After installing the battery, Harvey prepared to go to the bank.

“Harvey, where the hell are you going early in the morning?” At the balcony on the third floor, he saw a young lady who was wearing a set of cute pyjamas. Her appearance resembled Mandy. At that moment, she was staring at Harvey in an unruly manner. It was Xynthia.

“Sister, good morning.” Harvey nodded and greeted her politely.

“Who is your sister? How could my sister marry such a useless person like you? If it was me, I would have strangled you to death at the night of the wedding!”

Xynthia appeared cold. She casually threw a document folder down to him. “My sister forgot to take this document for her meeting. Send it to her. If you’re late, you do know what will happen to you!”

Undeniably, although Xynthia was only an unruly senior in high school, she still inherited the excellent genes from the Zimmers. She had a slim waist with slender legs. She was indeed quite charming.

Harvey picked up the document folder from the ground in a daze. Being married to Mandy for three years now, she had never allowed him to go and meet her at the company for fear that she might be embarrassed by him. Now she asked him to send her the document. Was it a dream?

“Get lost immediately!” Seeing that Harvey was in a daze, Xynthia was infuriated. The others’ brother-in-laws were tall and handsome. Some of them were even gentle and elegant. But why was her brother-in-law such a cowardly good-for-nothing? She could not even bear to look at him.

Further, he was unwilling to agree to the divorce. Who did he think he was?,

Half an hour later, Harvey reached Mandy’s company. As he was about to enter through the entrance, a bodyguard stopped him with a stun baton all of a sudden. The bodyguard said coldly, “Get lost! We don’t welcome beggars here.”

Harvey had just woken up, and he did not manage to clean himself up first. Besides, he was wearing a T-shirt and a pair of shorts with patches all over them. He did seem just like a beggar by the road.

However, Harvey was used to that kind of thing. He smiled and said, “Mister, I’m here to send a document to my wife.”

“Do you have a wife given the way you look?” The bodyguard was suspicious. “Is it the cleaning lady—Zara or the worker who works at the back kitchen—Lily?”

“My wife is Mandy,” said Harvey.

The bodyguard was stunned. Soon, he broke into laughter. “I see. You’re the son-in-law of the Zimmers.” He could not cease laughing.

Harvey shook his head. It never occurred to him that he was quite famous.

“That’s enough. Hand me the document. Miss Zimmer asked me to take the document from you if you’re here,” said the bodyguard.

“No.” Harvey shook his head in determination. “My sister-in-law said that it’s quite important, so I need to hand it to my wife in person. Could you please step aside…”

“You!” The bodyguard pointed at Harvey helplessly. ‘Is he crazy? Doesn’t he know how the Zimmers dislike him? Besides, he’s dressed up like this. Isn’t he afraid of ruining the company’s image?'

While they were talking to each other, they heard a loud blaring sound of a car engine from behind them all of a sudden. Soon, a BMW 5 series was seen parked beside Harvey’s electric bike after a high-speed drift maneuver. Then, they saw Don getting out of the car with a bouquet of roses in his hand.

“Great to see you here, Mr. Xander!” Noticing Don, the arrogant bodyguard soon appeared cordial and flattering. He soon said, “Mr. Xander, please walk this way. Miss Zimmer has been waiting for you in the office for a long time now.”

Don nodded at him. He then turned and walked into the company without even glancing at Harvey.

Harvey was about to enter the company too. However, the bodyguard raised his stun baton and blocked Harvey’s way again.

“What do you mean? Why is he allowed to enter the company and I’m not?” Harvey stared at the bodyguard and asked.

The bodyguard sighed and said, “Harvey, you’re just a son-in-law. How could you be compare to Mr. Xander? See, the perfume and roses in his hand certainly cost more than a few hundred bucks. Do you have that kind of money? From what I can see, you’ll cease to be their son-in-law soon.”

Harvey was stunned for a short while. He then frowned and asked, “What do you mean?”

“What do I mean? Are you stupid or are you putting up a show here? The incident which happened the night before is spread all over the city. Everyone knows that Mr. Xander is pursuing Miss Zimmer. They are a good-looking pair. They belong with each other. Take a look at yourself! You seem so pathetic and useless. I wonder why did Miss Zimmer agree to marry you in the first place?” The bodyguard chided him.

Meanwhile, the elevator in the lobby of the company opened. Mandy walked out of the elevator in a floral dress, looking so charming and beautiful.

At that moment, she saw Don. She smiled and nodded at him. She then said, “Mr. Xander, I’ve been waiting for you for some time.”

Don narrowed his eyes, and a flash of greed was seen deep in his eyes. It was almost indiscernible.

He licked his lips unconsciously and handed her the bouquet of flowers gracefully. He smiled and said, “Some people said that wonderful gifts should be given to people who deserve them. Mandy, you’re just as beautiful as a flower. So only you could deserve to be gifted with this bouquet of flowers.”

Mandy frowned slightly. She still remembered the incident which had happened the night before. Don had proposed to her in front of everybody, and now the entire incident was known in Niumhi. Now, he even pursued after her in such an outrageously daring manner.

At first, Mandy was reluctant to meet Don. But her company was in dire need of some funds now, so she had no choice but to ask Don for help.

Thinking about that, Mandy smiled and said, “Mr. Xander, you flatter me. I invited you over today with such cordiality because I would like to negotiate a business deal with you. How could I take gifts from you?”

Don smiled happily and said, “It’s not a big deal, and it doesn’t mean much. Mandy, you said that you don’t want my gift. Are you thinking that it’s not good enough? How about this? I’ll ask somebody to send some airflown flowers over from Prague. How about it?”

“You don’t have to do that. The production of roses in Prague is not good this year. I heard that the roses they grow there cost more than a thousand dollars per rose. It isn’t worth that much…” Mandy shook her head. Although she adored the roses there, she could not help but find the price unreasonable.

“More than a thousand dollars per rose…” Don’s eyes twitched slightly. ‘Certainly, I cannot present only a rose to her. I’ve more than a hundred roses here in my hand. If I do want to give her a present, I need to have as much as this. Therefore, it’ll cost more than two million dollars.’

As Don thought of that, he could not help but appear slightly awkward although he was a man who always appeared condescending in front of the others because of his wealth.

However, at that moment, Harvey who was standing outside of the lobby got past the bodyguard and barged into the lobby all of a sudden. He snatched away the bouquet of flowers in Don’s hand and threw it on the floor.

“Dear, don’t take things from others. If you do like roses, I’ll buy it for you. It’s just mere roses!” Unknowingly, Harvey became quite bold. He grabbed Mandy’s gentle and small hand and dragged her towards the elevator.

“Harvey, let go of me. What kind of nonsense did you say?” Mandy rebuked him softly.

They were currently in the lobby of the company, and it was crowded. Certainly, she could not make a fool of herself given that she was the CEO there. So she unconsciously wanted to release her hand, but it was held tightly by Harvey.

“B*stard! Come back here!” At first, Don was feeling slightly awkward. Now, he was engulfed in deep wrath. In fact, he picked that bouquet of flowers with much care as it cost him more than a thousand dollars. He would certainly be outraged given that it was thrown on the floor just like that.

‘What’s more important here is that b*stard is holding my goddess’s hand! I didn’t even get to hold her hand yet!’

“You ruined my flowers! Are you able to compensate for that? Who the hell are you?” Don slapped the door of the elevator with his left hand and forced the door to open again.

“B*stard! You better give me an explanation now. Otherwise, you'll have to pay a heavy price for it!”

“An explanation? Why should I give you an explanation?” Harvey said coldly. “First, Mandy is my wife. Please stay away from her. If you want to make a scene, go someplace else!

“Second, if my wife loves roses, I’ll buy them for her! She’s so gorgeous. How could such plain and cheap things suit her? I’ll send her the roses from Prague tonight itself!”

“What the f*ck! Are you mentally retarded or just plain stupid? One rose from Prague costs more than a thousand dollars. I heard that you were asking for a scooter from Senior Zimmer yesterday. You’re just a good-for-nothing. Even if you sell your kidney out, you couldn’t even afford to buy one of those. Why are you so daring, putting up a show here?”

Don appeared cold. He enjoyed a privileged status in York Enterprise. ‘How can a son-in-law like him talk to me like this?’

Besides, the thing which infuriated him the most was the incident in which Harvey smashed his flowers and dragged Mandy into the elevator. ‘What the hell did the b*stard want to do?’

Thinking about that, Don smiled coldly all of a sudden. He seemed to be so sure of himself. “Mandy, aren’t you in need of five million dollars for your company’s funds? I could help you with that.”

“What?” Mandy was stunned.

Don said calmly, “Mandy, I know that your company is in need of five million dollars. Fortunately, I have that kind of amount in my hand, and it could be used as the funds for investment. If you have a meal with me this afternoon, it’ll be yours.”

“Are you serious?” Mandy let go of Harvey’s hand unconsciously. Her company did need that amount of money.

“I always keep my promises.” Don appeared quite confident.

“Sure.” After considering it for a while, she gave her word at last. If she did not gain such funds, her company would most probably go into bankruptcy.

“Let’s go, Mandy. We could discuss the project and where we’re going to have our lunch later…” said Don politely.

“Dear! You can’t go with him!” Before Mandy could speak, Harvey stared at Don angrily. His facial expression worsened. “Don, I’m warning you. You better stay away from my wife!”

Don sneered. “How can a useless son-in-law decide about this? Why? Are you afraid that she might cheat on you?” Don smiled faintly at that moment.

“You’re just a good-for-nothing. Do you think that you can change your fate?”

“I…” Harvey’s facial expression changed, and he wanted to say more.

But at that moment, Mandy walked out of the elevator and said coldly, “Harvey, don’t be unreasonable.”

“Am I being unreasonable?” Harvey was stunned.

“Do you know how important this investment is to me?” Mandy looked at Harvey in disappointment. ‘If he were more capable, I wouldn’t have to be like this.’

She sighed and followed Don out of the lobby of the company. She then got into the BMW.

“Dear!” Seeing that Mandy had gotten into Don’s car, he rushed after her quickly. He then said, “Dear, don’t go with him! I have the money. I’ll give you five million dollars!”

“Harvey, why don’t you go and look for a job? Don’t be daydreaming here.” Mandy sighed.

“But…” Harvey was about to say something again.

Don had now walked towards him. He patted Harvey’s shoulder and said solemnly, “What’s wrong? Are you looking for a job given that you’re just a useless man? Do you need me to recommend one for you? Luckily, my company is in need of a cleaner.

“Do you want to give it a try? You’ll be paid around two hundred bucks every month. I’ll pay you 50 bucks more as your subsidy for Mandy’s sake. How about that?” Don said seriously, “York Enterprise is owned by the Yorks. It’s not easy to enter such a big company. Don’t miss out on a chance like this. You need to think about it carefully!”

Harvey pushed Don’s hand away and said coldly, “I don’t need that!”

“Oh, how ungrateful you are!” Don shook his head, and he could not be bothered about Harvey anymore. He opened the door of his BMW and got into the car immediately.

“Dear, don’t go with him. I’m able to help you with that five million dollars!” Harvey did not give up as he looked at Mandy, hoping that she would change her mind.

Unfortunately, Mandy ignored Harvey’s request.

“Harvey, don’t shout anymore. You better don’t daydream here given how poor you are…”

“What can you help Mandy with? Do you have five million dollars? Do you know the CEO of York Enterprise?

“You… You better think about where you should go begging for money after you’re kicked out of the Zimmers…” Don burst into laughter.

Don rolled down his car window and smiled in disdain.

Harvey shouted, “Don! Don’t be so smug about yourself just because you’re rich!”

“Excuse me, b*stard. It’s indeed such a good feeling, being rich. I can easily ask your wife to come with me just because I can…”

“If I want her to get into my car, she has no choice but to comply.”

“If I want her to divorce you, she’ll have to act accordingly.”

Don burst into laughter.

After Don went away in his car, Harvey stood at the entrance of the company dispiritedly.

“A mere project manager from York Enterprise could make my wife get into his car. Even he could ask my wife to divorce me.”

“York Enterprise is nothing but just a company under the Yorks. D*mn it!”

As he was talking, he fished out his old phone and dialed the contact number from the previous day.

“It’s me. I can help the Yorks, but I have two conditions!”

“First, York Enterprise belongs to me from today onward!”

“Second, help me to order the best roses from Prague and send it to Zimmer Advertising Company using a way which is generally favored by women the most!”
