Chapter 2

Siona was happy.

She started to pack up and take Kitty to the church for a week.

I sat in the living room, eating cakes, watching Siona busy and Kitty restless. Kitty walked around the balcony several times, made several phone calls, and finally came back to the living room and sat next to me.

"Dianna, I searched it, ectopic pregnancy seems to be really dangerous. Should we go and talk to Mom again?"

She looked sincere, with a humble attitude, as if begging me. When I saw Siona coming out of the room, I deliberately smiled, holding Kitty's hand.

"Mom has her reasons. I have never been pregnant. I don't have mom's experience. If you think it's dangerous," I looked back and shouted, "Mom, Kitty has something to say to you."

Kitty didn't want to offend Siona.

She always pushing me out as a shield.

This time, I couldn't be the scapegoat. I called Siona. Kitty's expression was frozen. Without any reaction, I heard Siona ask her, "What do you want to say?"

Kitty trembled, but still held back and said, "Nothing."

Siona packed up and left with Kitty.

In a few days.

I received a phone call from Kitty in the middle of the night, secretly.

"Dianna, my belly has been hurting a lot these past two days. Do you think I should go to the hospital?"

Kitty didn't dare to say these words to Siona. She wanted to say them through me. Kitty's family was from the countryside, and Siona had always looked down on her.

I was different.

Both of my parents had respectable positions in their workplaces.

Even Siona also respected me a little.

She was not afraid of me, but of my parents.

In the previous life.

As long as Kitty proposed something that I could accept, I was always willing to help her. I also hoped that she could have a better life. But I never thought that all my good intentions were wasted and I received a fatal blow from her.

"Is it because you are not sincere enough?" I lazily lay on the sofa watching TV shows and eating potato chips. "Siona said that you are always lazy when praying. You should ask Siona how to do better."

I said word by word.

Kitty became angry and couldn't control her volume, so she shouted.

"Are you hoping for my death?"

The next second.

I heard Siona's voice scolding her through the phone.

"Who allowed you to say such things in such a sacred place? Come here and apologize!"

On the other end of the phone, I heard Kitty's suppressed and humble crying, and Siona constantly cursing her, saying that she was ignorant, didn't know the occasion, and didn't understand the severity of the situation.

Then.

The call hung up.

I looked at the hung up phone and smiled.

Chapter 3

Kitty's stomach really didn't hurt.

Under Siona's guidance, she knelt on the cushion and prayed to the gods for a week. She lost weight, but her belly clearly didn't hurt anymore, and even her appetite improved.

Even the morning sickness in the early stages of pregnancy didn't occur to her.

She returned with joy, thinking that she could get rid of Siona after coming back.

But she didn't expect that Siona would insist that even if she came back, she must pray every day, and even forced her to change the screen of her mobile phone, and she had to pray to her mobile phone every day. Siona also forbade Kitty from eating meat and asked her to eat vegetarian food to pray for the child.

Kitty came to me several times for help and even took the opportunity when Siona was hanging clothes to secretly give me a gold bracelet.

"Dianna, can you help me make an appointment with the doctor? Although my belly doesn't hurt and I have a good appetite, I still want to have a prenatal check-up to see if the baby has really moved into the uterus."

One thing was obvious.

Kitty already believed in divine protection to some extent.

But she wasn't completely at ease and wanted me to help her deceive others and secretly go to the hospital to hear what the doctor said.

I looked at that gold bracelet and felt a bit familiar. I turned it around and saw the engraved words inside, confirming that it was the birthday gift I had previously given to Kitty.

Now.

She knew how to return a favor.

I put the gold bracelet back in her hand and smiled, saying, "Mom said that if you go to the hospital, you will be exposed to the negative energy there, which is not good for the baby."

"If you really want to go."

I raised my voice, "Mom-"

Siona turned her head from the balcony, "What's the matter."

"Kitty -"

I hadn't finished yet, Kitty covered my mouth and smiled awkwardly, "It's okay, Mom, nothing happened."

Siona looked at Kitty suspiciously and said, "Don't be naughty."

Kitty smiled and replied, "Okay," then turned around and glared at me, taking away the gold bracelet.

Kitty didn't come to me for many days after that incident, and I enjoyed the leisure. But one day, I heard the sound of things being thrown in the living room.

I opened the door a crack.

I saw a delivery box on the floor of the living room, and inside it was the DHA for pregnant women in the United States.

Siona was cursing loudly.

"Didn't I tell you not to believe those random things online? They will only harm my grandson. Now everything outside is full of additives. Why don't you listen to me?"

Siona picked up Kitty's phone again and smashed it on the ground, then stomped on it several times.

"From today on, you are not allowed to play with your phone. I think you have been possessed by your phone. Now pray and beg for forgiveness."

Kitty just cried and didn't dare to argue.

The moment when Kitty turned around, I clearly felt her looking at my room and our eyes met. I could see resentment in her eyes.

She hated me for standing by and not helping her.

Chapter 4

That night.

I was sleeping soundly when I suddenly felt movement beside me. I was startled and opened my eyes, only to see Kitty's face magnified several times. Before I could make a sound, she covered my mouth.

"Shh."

With tears in her eyes, Kitty said, "Don't be afraid. I just want to borrow your phone for a moment."

I blinked my eyes to indicate that she should let go first.

But Kitty refused.

In the previous few times, she no longer believed me in my attitude.

She covered my mouth with one hand and opened my phone screen with the other, tapping on the screen. After a while, a very soft male voice came through.

"Dianna?"

It was Jack's voice.

Kitty called Jack, wanting to seek help from.

As soon as Jack's voice came out, Kitty couldn't hold back her grievances and started crying. She didn't dare to cry loudly and wake up Siona, so she stumbled and poured out the recent bitterness.

"Hurry back, I'm in so much pain."

There was a pause on Jack's end for several seconds.

"Let me see if I can take a leave."

After hanging up the phone, Kitty wiped away her tears and looked at me with a malicious look, "We are both women, why don't you help me."

She was self-righteous.

"I don't owe you anything, how can you just stand by and not care about me."

Every word she said was from a moral high ground, condemning me, but she never thought about where her own problems were.

If something went wrong with my help, she would blame me just like she blames me now for not helping her, why did I have to meddle in other people's business?

That's how people are.

They would always show extreme selfishness when it came to their interests.

I had already died once, I couldn't have any empathy for her, I just looked at her coldly and said calmly, "You should follow with your family. Since I married into this family, I should prioritize Siona. I am not wrong."

"You are crazy," said Kitty angrily before leaving, "It serves you right to be bullied for your whole life, even though you are a talented student."

The next day.

The jade bracelet that Siona had always treasured was missing.

There were hidden waves under the calm surface.

Siona muttered about calling the police and making a big fuss. My older brother and my husband hurriedly called to ask for the reason. At the same time, my husband suggested, "Didn't we install surveillance cameras at home? Let's check it before calling the police."

My older brother agreed repeatedly.

Siona also thought it made sense and looked at me and Kitty. We had no objections.

So.

The surveillance cameras, which had always been considered as decorations and useless, were finally put to use. Siona watched all the cameras inside and outside the house. Before seeing the jade bracelet, she saw Kitty sneaking into my room in the middle of the night.
