Chapter 5
Beverly Carington
I looked at myself in the mirror and checked my outfit for tonight one more time. Today I'm wearing black hair wig and green contacts. I wore a really beautiful long red dress with slit on the left side. I got down from my apartment and drove my car towards the ballroom where my target is.
As soon as I arrived, I gave my car to the valet chauffeur and I walked inside the ballroom. I started to look for my target until my eyes landed on my client. He gave me a smirk and he pointed at someone. Yes, it's the target.
I walked there and took a glass of champagne.
"Hey Edric." I said and Edric looked at me weirdly.
"Sorry, do I know you?"
"You must be his friend." I smiled to the girl beside him.
"I'm his girlfriend."
"Girlfriend?" I looked at Edric and I don't need to do anything else because the girl will be suspicious. This guy named Edric has been cheating behind his girlfriend. My client, Wesley loves her and wanted my help to prove that Edric here is a cheater.
"Who are you?"
"Oh.. I'm Emily. Edric here is my friend's boyfriend. I can't believe you cheated on Holly!" I said coldly to him. Holly does exist and he's one of Edric's other girlfriends who doesn't know that her boyfriend has a lot of girlfriends. Holly and my client attended the same college so.. I asked for Holly permission to use her name. She agreed because she's damn pissed too.
"You have another girlfriend?" She bursted angrily and I'm done with my work. I gestured my client that it's done. He smirked and mouthed thank you. My work here is done and now I need to get out from here.
I walked out from the ballroom and someone caught my arm. I turned to see.. no shit! It's that guy again but this time he got a camera with him.
"Got you." He smirked and I tried to pull my arm away from him but he gripped it tighter.
"Thanks." He said to someone and I turned to see my client, Wesley. I looked at Wesley disbelief.
"Don't worry, Edric case is not a lie. I really love Kesley." Wesley said and smiled to me. I looked at him in disbelief and then turned to the guy. He dragged me towards the lift and he dragged me inside.
"You can't run away from now on." He said as he handcuffed my hand.
"Hey! Let me go!" I hissed.
"So.. Ms. Red." I stepped on his feet with high heels causing him to groan in pain. Instead of letting me go, he held me tighter than before. He dragged me out to the 21 floor and yes it's a hotel. He dragged to room 203.
"Let me go!" He locked the door and pushed me to the bed. He pulled my wig and took off my hair band making my blonde hair fall down.
"Let me go!" I bursted angrily but he stopped me by leaning his face to mine.
"So you got a lot of money for this huh?" He asked.
"What's your problem? Why are you butting into someone else's business? Are you jobless?" I bursted angrily right into his face. He smirked and walked towards the table.
I looked straight to the door to find a way out and when he's busy with his camera. I ran my ass off to the door but he caught me. He pinned me to the wall hard causing my back hurting.
"Isn't it crazy that I find you everywhere?" He asked and we both looked at each other like we will kill each other in seconds. He grabbed the handcuff and dragged me back in. He dragged me to the table and my eyes widened to see that he has taken a lot of photos of me on a lot of occasions in the past 3 months.
"How.. how.." I was speechless.
"I don't know but I found you everywhere and I captured this so you believe. I saw everything that you did until I found one of your clients." I was speechless. I turned to him.
"So.. what are you going to do with me?" I asked.
"I want you to stop or else I will sue you and tell you to the police." He said and I sighed.
"What do you want? Your repair car fees? A new phone? What do you want?" I asked as I looked at all the photos that he captured. I turned to him and he didn't say a word.
"See.. you don't even know what you want. What exactly is your problem until you need to capture me like this? I mean you can go tell the police and sue me." I said and he turned to me coldly.
"What's your name?"
"Emily."
"No.. your real name." He asked.
"Daisy."
"Your real name!" He bursted and that made me startled.
"Samantha."
"Your real name!"
"How about this.. I will help you to get the woman you love. How's that?" I asked.
"No."
"You don't love anyone? Are you gay?" I asked and he looked at me coldly. He leaned his head to me as he held my handcuff so I couldn't go anywhere.
"What's your name? Answer me when I'm still nice."
"Hilton."
"Your real name!" He bursted.
"Let me go first." I said gesturing my hand.
"No."
"You're still an idiot huh?" I asked and he looked at me angrily. He grabbed my small bag and took everything out. He tried to find something to reveal my identity but.. I'm not dumb.
"Just tell me what you want.. I'll give it to you."
"One million dollar." He said and my eyes widened. Uh.. I don't have that much money. I might have a lot of money but not that many.
"I'll give you 50.000$, how's that sound?"
"One million dollar or I will tell the police and expose you to the media." He hissed.
"Besides that? Anything? Please.. anything.." I begged.
"Anything? Really? Anything?" He smirked and I nodded. He took a brown envelope from the table. He took the letter out and put it in front of me.
"Are you kidding me?"
"You're good at lying and good at acting so.. sign the contract."
"I can't stay in LA for 1 year!" I bursted and he smirked.
"Find someone else!"
"No.. I need a girl who can act and lie." He said and he gave me a pen.
"1 million dollar or this?"
"I can't make money, you idiot!"
"I'll give you money." I scoffed hearing him say that.
"No!"
"Then say goodbye to freedom and-"
"Fine!" I signed the contract and he smirked widely.
"Good girl."
Chapter 6
Beverly Carington
"You what?!" Becca asked me in disbelief.
"I will move to LA for 1 year."
"I can't believe he's that evil."
"I cursed him and now God cursed me. It's crazy that he found me all the time."
"Don't you think it's time for you to.. you know.. take a rest from this sinful job and have a little life a little?"
"What life? I'm dealing with a psychopath." I rolled my eyes.
"I think it's kinda fate."
"Fate? Fate my ass. I don't believe in fate." I hissed.
"Oh come on, he's hot. You're making a deal with a hot guy. I won't complain if I were you." Becca smirked and I threw a pillow to her face.
"Shut up and help me choose my outfit." I said and she helped me to pack. That bastard is waiting outside my room in the living room. He's waiting for me to pack my bag because we have to go to fucking LA tonight.
I took a shower and dried my hair. I curled it and put my makeup on. I put on my highwaisted black jeans and a white crop top. I put on my adidas sneakers and walked out from my room with my luggage.
"Congratulations, I'm 100 years old now." He said sarcastically.
"I hope you die quickly." I said and I turned my body to Becca.
"I'll see you soon.. you should visit me soon." I said as I hugged her.
"Yeah, I'll see you soon. Find a hot guy there." Becca said and I nodded.
"Take care and you bastard.." She pointed at him and he raised his eyebrows.
"If you dare hurt my friend, I will cut your balls." I laughed and Becca winked at me.
"Funny." He said flatly. We walked out from my apartment and I took a taxi to go to the airport. None of us talk because we both are not interested in talking to each other.
As soon as we got into the airport, we checked into the first class section. We put our luggage in and waited for our flight at the VIP lounge.
We sat across each other and looked at each other with hate.
"Your name.." Yup he still doesn't know my name. I booked the ticket by myself earlier and put his credit card number in by myself.
"Your name first.." We still don't know each other's names. Weird? Yes.
"Clyde Dante."
"Clyde as in Bonnie and Clyde?" I asked and laughed a little. He glared at me and I stopped laughing.
"Beverly, Beverly Carrington." He looked at me like he doesn't believe me. I threw my passport to his face and he caught it before it lands on his face. He checked it and nodded. He threw the passport back to me.
"Why 1 year?"
"Because it's the most realistic amount of time for couples to break up." He said.
"We're not playing a dating couple.. we're playing as an engaged couple here. I can't stand being near you for 1 year." I bursted.
Apparently Clyde here asked me to get engaged to him for 1 year. We're going to live in his family's house and all I have to do is to be the bitch fiance. I need to make them hate me and then.. I need to make a big fight with Clyde and boom.. break up.
I bet my parents will be so proud of me.
"You don't have any boyfriends or something like that right?"
"Boyfriends? I might be a girl who has a job ruining other people's relationship but I never have more than one boyfriend because I never had a boyfriend before."
"What? Are you normal or what?" He asked and I glared at him.
"I will never open up myself to you, Bonnie. Normal or not normal.. you already picked me so bare with it!"
"We have to be realistic when we get there." He said.
"I'm good in acting and lying. Don't worry.. as long as you let me do a lot of skinships with you. I'm damn fine."
"You can do whatever you want."
"Good." I smirked and he looked at me suspiciously. We both turned silent again and I looked out the window. I will miss New York.
Suddenly there's an announcement that we have to board into our airplane. I got up from my seat and sluck my backpack. Clyde got up too and we walked together to the airplane. We got in and sat down side by side. I put my seatbelt on and put my bag on the side.
"Bev? Ely? Bever? What should I call you?"
"Bev or Beverly." I turned my head to Clyde and he nodded. We promised not to talk about our private life. I don't want to know why he has to go back to LA and have this fake marriage.
"Did you stalk me?" I asked.
"Stalk you? I'm a busy man and I don't have time to stalk you."
"Then how come you always caught me?" I asked, raising my eyebrows completely suspicious.
"Ask God."
"You can ignore it. Why do you care so much?" I asked and he glared at me. I hissed and leaned back to my seat. I closed the window between us because I don't want to see his face until we arrive in LA.
I fell asleep right away even before the take off.
"Wake up.. hey Beef.. wake up." I opened my eyes slowly and got up slowly. Clyde took off my seatbelt and he slipped a ring into my ring finger. I looked at it in horror and turned to him.
"We're in LA. Let's go."
"So I'm your fiance now?" I asked annoyed.
"Yeah." He nodded and then walked away. I took my bag and followed him out. We claimed our baggage first and then.. here we go.
I linked my arm to his and we walked out from the baggage claim section. There's already a family with a big placard written 'Welcome Home, Clyde Dante.'
Oh boy..
Chapter 7
Clyde Dante
Don't ask me why I keep seeing this girl for the past 3 months. We keep bumping each other, I mean not technically bumping each other but I kept seeing her everywhere and she was always with a different guy every time.
I found myself taking a photo of her different appearance. She kept changing her wigs from black, brunette, redhead and light brown. From long hair to short hair too. She wore a lot of contact lenses from green, blue and brown.
One week before I caught Beverly big time, my grandma called me that she asked me for a big favor. She asked me to stay back in LA where all my family are for 1 year to celebrate her 100th birthday. My family begged me to spend time in LA and I know it's been a long time since I visited them.
I was staying in UK for 2 years and I just got back from UK and now I have to go to LA for 1 year. My grandma keep asking me if I have a girlfriend or no and I kept telling her that I don't have any. Not only my grandma but everyone in my family. I kept begging them to leave me alone.. and they keep lecturing me that I'm almost 30. Gosh.. they're so annoying.
After hundreds of calls, I decided to go to LA but not alone. I need to find a girl who can make my family hate her so they won't force me to get into a relationship again. My mind went straight to Beverly. I caught her and lured her to take the bait and she did. She decided to help but I'm glad for that.
I mean.. she owed me a lot. My car and my phone and my balls that she kicked.
After we took our luggage, we walked out from that section. Beverly linked her arm to me as we walked out. I saw my family already because they literally brought a big pla card that's write 'Welcome Home, Clyde Dante'
I looked at them disbelief and they hugged me right away. There's my parents, my grandmother, my aunt and her husband and my cousins. I realized that Bev was left behind. I turned to her and held her hand.
"Guys, this is Beverly Carington, she's my fiance." I said as I showed them the ring.
"Hello. I'm Beverly. Nice to meet you?" She said in a shy tone. They looked at her weirdly for a while but my grandma hugged her right.
"Nice to meet you, Beverly. I don't know until when will Clyde hide you from me. He has been so secretive these days." My grandma said as she held Bev's hand.
"Nice to meet you, Bev." The others hugged her. Later on, she needs to act like a bitch at home.
"Let's go home." My dad said and smiled. I nodded.
"Let's go babe." I said to Bev and she smiled to me. I was startle because that's the first time I've seen her genuinely smile. She held my hand and leaned her head to my arm.
Gosh this girl is too good when it comes to acting. She acted so natural instead of awkward. I laughed at myself for being an idiot. Of course she's good. She went out with thousands of guys and ruined their relationship by flirting.. kissing.. maybe even have sex.
We put our luggage at the back of the car and we will be riding with my dad, mom and grandma. Grandma sat between me and Beverly. She smiled all the time completely happy to the fact that I'm back in LA with a fiance.
"So where did you two meet?"
"Oh, I was out with my boyfriend.. I mean ex-boyfriend and then I bumped into Clyde at the club." Beverly said and my grandma looked at her weirdly. Yes! That's the spirit.
"Yup, that's how we meet."
"What do you like about Clyde?" My grandma asked again.
"He's rich." Beverly answered bluntly. I wanted to laugh so bad but I can't. I kept controlling my face not to laugh. My grandma turned to me and looked at me weirdly.
"Anything else?"
"He's handsome and good in bed." Gosh! I want to laugh so bad. My dad and mom looked at each other with a really i-don't-like-her expression.
"Oh.. he has a really sexy body." She added and I leaned my head back and closed my eyes. I'm trying so hard to control my laughter.
"Really? I told my husband that too!" Wait! What?
"Really?" Bev asked her disbelief.
"Yes and that's the truth." Grandma said and she laughed. She held Bev's hand and patted it. Oh boy! I know that gesture a lot.
"How old are you?"
"I'm 26." Well I just know about that tooz
"What college did you go?"
"New York University."
"What major?"
"Architect but now I'm jobless." What? Architect?
"Aww you both are an architect and why are you jobless? You can work in Clyde's company." My grandma said.
"Aren't you supposed to be embarrassed for being jobless?" My mom asked in a cold tone.
"I mean.. Clyde is rich, I don't need a job anymore." Good! I saw my mom's jaw drop down to the floor.
"What if Clyde doesn't have a job later on? You should have a job." My mom asked.
"You can't handle Clyde 100%." My dad said.
"Yes, I can." She said confidently.
"Can you cook?" My mom asked.
"Yup, water." She answered and I wanted to clap my hands so bad. She's so damn good.
"Oh my." My mom sighed and my grandma looked at me disbelief. I bet they will give a lecture at night. I glanced at Bev and she winked at me. I looked away and smirked.
She's damn good. Now I kinda get it why people pay her to act. She's good and so natural.
