Chapter 7
I drew back from the pink duvet as I opened my eyes. I expose my face slowly and cautiously. I blink twice, then close my eyes and blink once more. I am blinded by rays of sunshine that pass through the window. I get out of bed, drag my feet out, and rub my knuckles into my eyes. I yawn with my arms stretched over my head. My legs hang over the off-white carpet, and I keep an eye on them.
It's not my room, I turned around.
Oh, my so-called marriage to jerk Aaron Knight comes flooding back. At my husband's home, here is my new room.
It was 8:50 p. m. when I was studying, according to the digital clock on the wall.
I slept too much.
I remind myself that my maternal grandmother is an ideal wife, and she always tells me that when I get married, I must grow into an ideal wife for my husband, but I never imagined that my life would turn into a farce and that one day I would be married to the devil, Aaron Knight, who doesn't care about people but is obsessed with his business and his wealth.
However, he is now my husband, and my grandmother has always hoped for me to be a nice and perfect wife like her, regardless of whether or not your husband loves you. I felt like I could try to give our relationship a shot to succeed.
Finally, like my maternal grandmother used to do for my grandfather, I will cook a meal for him.
I should attempt to understand him, to be the best wife for him, because perhaps he isn't who he appears to be, and there is another Aaron who is the polar opposite of this jerk Aaron.
I hurriedly took off my oversized top and shorts and stuffed them into my wardrobe.
I wore a cardigan over my white flowery dress.
As I walked away from my room, I observed several other maids at work.
They hailed me as soon as they saw me...
I then proceeded to the kitchen, where I observed Amy slicing cucumber.
I spoke to her, "Hey Amy."
"Did you sleep well, Eternity honey?" she said.
"Yeah." I sighed as I looked around the kitchen; it's the most gorgeous kitchen I've ever seen.
She handed me coffee and said, "Here."
While sipping my coffee, I said, "Thank you, Amy."
Amy inquired, "Dear, what would you want for dinner?"
"Um, Amy," I inquired, "right now I'll cook a meal for Aaron when he gets home."
"Sir always comes home after 11 p.m.," she explained.
"All right, Amy, you can leave," I responded happily. "I'll cook dinner for him."
"All right, but you'll need my aid," she admonished, a sweet smile on her face.
"No, no, don't worry, I'll take care of it. Just tell me where our spices and supplies are, and I'll do the rest "I stated this as I leaned forward on the kitchen island, preparing a fruit salad with mangos, oranges, and bananas.
After that, I ignored Amy and began deciding what he should eat. I had no idea what type of food he liked.
As a result, I decided to cook Macaroni and cheese, spaghetti, Key lime pie, and an Indian sweet called Carrot Halwa for dessert. I know how to prepare Carrot Halwa since my grandmother like Indian food.
I glanced at the clock after finishing the food preparation and garnishing the Carrot Halwa with Dry Fruits.
Aaron is on his way and will arrive at any moment.
I think I should put on some new clothing and head back to my room.
I put on a chiffon flowery dress and simply used lip balm on my lips; the rest of my face was makeup-free.
I untangled my long, wavy dark brown hair, which cascaded down my back like a waterfall.
After that, I exited my room and entered the living room.
I hear the automobile a few minutes later.
It seems like he is returning home.
I took control of the living room's main entrance right away. I noticed some lovely flowers in a vase near the door and pretended to arrange them correctly, despite the fact that they were already in place. I simply want him to notice me.
As he approached, he scrutinised me, but his eyes darkened and a scroll was thrust into his face. When I saw his attitude toward me, my heart sank.
In his Armani suit, he looks stunning, as if he just stepped out of the pages of a magazine.
How can he marry a humble lady like me when he can have whomever he wants by simply switching his fingers?
His gorgeous crystal blue eyes gaze at me with a hard attitude, yet it appears that they have feelings for me someplace deep below. I gave him a kind smile while averting my gaze. I'm having a hard time staring into his lovely eyes.
He simply shrugged his eyes and walked right by me, completely oblivious to my presence.
Seriously, what's the matter with him? Can't he be a bit nicer to me?
I turned around and stared at him as he ascended the stairs to his room; I felt my misery decrease to a dull throb as a result of his perplexity; I felt dampness around my finger. I looked down and realised that I had grabbed a jagged spike of rose so hard that it had cut my finger and blood was pouring out,"'shit'; I had to serve Aaron supper. Soon, he'll be downstairs.
I dashed for first aid equipment and treated my wounded finger, thank goodness the cut was not deep; nevertheless, after cleansing my wound, the blood stopped flowing. My bottom lip jutted out as I sighed.
I should prepare dinner for him and walk towards the kitchen with my feet pointed inwards.
I tap my fingers over the pouring table after adorning the dining table with food.
He appeared a few seconds later, dressed in a navy blue shirt that revealed the contours of his Greek god figure and sweatpants.
At the dinner table, he sat in a head chair.
My shoulders sagged as I hurriedly began serving him the dinner I had prepared for him.
"Where are the maids, and why are you serving?" he said, his head tilted inquisitively.
I dismissed them today because I cooked dinner for you. Should I tell him that I dismissed them, will he be furious with me? If I don't tell him, will he be angry with me? If I don't tell him, will he be angry with me? If I don't tell him, I'll tell him "Um, I dismissed them," I said shyly.
He sternly informed me, "You don't need to cook; maids are here for that."
"Please, at least sample what I cooked for you," I replied, dimples appearing on my cheeks.
He began to eat, and his look transformed to one of joy and satisfaction as he finished my meal. I grinned sheepishly at this.
But his euphoric look was swiftly replaced by a cold and indifferent one.
But it makes me happy that he enjoyed my cooking. I'm sure he'll never compliment me, but I can read his eyes.
After the meal, I served dessert, which was Carrot Halwa, which he recognised as an Indian sweet dish.
"This is Carrot Halwa, an Indian sweet delicacy that I cooked for you," I said, biting my lower lip.
His eyes and face pleased with a pleasant look once more after tasting Carrot Halwa, but he swiftly moved on.
Resuming his austere demeanour.
He rises to go into his study room after we've completed dinner.
I snatched his fist and said, "For you, I will make an effort to be a nice wife. Our marriage can be given a second chance."
As soon as I uttered those words to him, he took a step back to make room; after a minute, I'm not sure, but he gazed at me with an unfamiliar, hard expression before I could recognise his eyes.
He instantly jerked away from his palm, as I will burn him
"Please, put an end to the nonsense. I know folks like you who are only aware of betrayal and deception you have such a significant paper for my company that even if someone finds out what you are conspiring against me with my competitors, don't you resist acting innocent in front of me? Once this scam is solved and we find out who was that man who stole my company's data and information, who is behind these, I will leave you forever, this is only a contractual marriage." He tightened his hands and snarled his teeth at me.
My eyes are already wet from his attitude of me, as he can't believe I'm not a gold digger; I don't want him to suffer, but I needed him to be happy.
Why do his words affect me so much? He leaves the dining room, leaving me teary-eyed, and it feels like a hot, sharp knife, covered in salt, slicing through my skin and into my muscles and bones, as if my leg had been frozen and a bolt of lightning had struck my body from head to toe, as though my leg had been frozen and a bolt of lightning had struck my body from head to toe.
I dashed into my room. I sat on the floor, crying my heart out, wondering why he doesn't believe me when I say I didn't betray him. I don't want his hatred; I've always preferred his good. Never will I betray him.
Chapter 8
Through my room's wide glass window, rays of sunlight splashed across my face. My sluggish eyes slowly opened.
My pulse is beating, and my mind is blank, even though my eyes are open. It's as if an adrenaline hypodermic has been injected into my carotid artery. My respiration rate begins to stabilise as I struggle into the absolute blackness.
I struggled out of bed and made my way to the restroom. When I glanced in the mirror, I saw a mess; my eyes were swollen from sobbing all night.
My skin hasn't changed colour.
Soo, I'm not sure why Aaron's anger so deeply broke my heart.
I've never wished him harm, and I've always favoured him, but I imagine he won't believe me. He'll always regard me as a traitor.
But who was that strange individual who handed me the packet with confidential corporate information that day, and why me?
What relationship does he have with Aaron?
I have a lot of unanswered questions in my head right now. I have no idea what to look for, how to gain Aaron's trust, can we ever live as normal husband and wife, I don't believe so, he despises me so much, but I will not give up on him; I will do all in my power to win his heart and draw the real Aaron, who is nothing like this jerk.
My maternal grandmother used to pack lunch for my maternal grandfather when he went to work. We are from a middle-class family, so it happened there. I'm not sure if Aaron will take a lunch box with him or not, but I will make lunch for him because it's my duty. After all, I am his wife, and I will do everything I can to win his heart and be a good wife for him until the contract ends.
Following that, I rush to the bathroom after changing out of my shower.
I wear a sleeveless red Maxi slip dress with my long dark brown hair open.
I next proceed to Amy's kitchen, where she is preparing pancakes.
"Hello, sweetheart. How did you spend your evening? "she said, pleasantly smiling
"It's fine," I said her as I slouched forward in my chair, remembering his rage and anger from the night before.
While twisting my wedding ring, I said, "Um Amy, did Aaron bring lunch food to the office?"
She said, "No, he doesn't."
"I'll do it from now on. Make and pack lunches for him on a regular basis "slack-jawed, I remarked
Her eyes twinkled as she responded, "Really?"
"You've heard about Eternity. Aaron is really fortunate to have you as his wife. I've known him since I was a youngster. His parents died when he was 11 years old, and after their deaths, he became a stone devoid of emotions. He inherited Knight's Empire, his family's business, which was founded by his father, but he was the one who worked so hard to grow it into one of America's largest multinational corporations "She grumbles as she drags her feet to the other side of the room.
"Oh, okay," I reasoned, "that's why he was so upset when the papers fraud happened. His fury was legitimate."
"All right, I'll cook him lunch," I murmured to Amy as I took a knife and began chopping.
"No, sweetie," Amy murmured to me, her brows wrinkled, "you don't need to worry cooking me and other maids are there, you don't need to."
"However, isn't it the wife's responsibility to feed him?" I said, my gaze fixed on her.
"OK, prepare him lunch; he is really fortunate to have a wife like you; I know only you can bring back the real Aaron who went missing," she smiled.
I gave her a friendly nod
After that, I got to work on his lunch. Finally, I packed my homemade lunch once I finished cooking.
Then, when I emerged from the kitchen and entered the living room, I noticed him.
Aaron, he is so stunning in his costly Armani clean suit that I can't take my sight away from him.
He's all prepared to go to work now that he's eaten his breakfast.
Before he could go, I dashed forward and grabbed his hand to stop him.
He gave me a small backward glance as he stared at me.
"Um, here's your lunch," I said, handing him a bag containing his food while looking up at him over my lashes.
He answered, "I don't need it," and stowed my lunch bag away.
"Kindly accept it." "Please," I murmur constantly under my breath, "you'll need it after afternoon."
He gave me a serious look. His crystal blue eyes glowed with an unknown feeling, which he hurriedly wiped away.
I then saw that his tie was not correctly fastened. I tied the tie correctly, and I can feel his gaze on me; he never blinks when he looks at me. I bit my lower lip lightly and felt a quick rush of cold that spread throughout my body.
"Done," I replied as I finished tying his tie, my gaze fixed on him.
"Done," I replied as I finished tying his tie, staring him in the eyes. He was gazing at me, and our gazes were riveted on each other.
I swiftly back away while looking aside, attempting to avoid eye contact with him. I know I have a strong awareness of my heartbeat and the sense of being inundated with warmth.
He turned aside a few seconds later, ready to leave.
But the thing that surprises me is that he stole the lunch bag I packed for him before leaving.
Even though I still have a flush on my cheeks, I grinned sheepishly at this.
I lowered my head. I don't want him to see that I'm blushing.
He began walking towards his vehicle.
My gaze is drawn to a file he is bringing down the stairs.
God, he's losing track of his files.
I grabbed the file and bolted from the home.
Chaflaur is opening the door for him, and he's simply going to sit in the car.
"Aaron," I yelled as I dashed towards his car.
He comes to a halt in the middle of something, his brows wrinkled as he notices me.
"You're forgetting it right here," I told him as I handed him papers, anxiously biting my lower lip.
He snatched them from my possession.
"Thank you," he murmured, widening my eyes.
Is it possible that he just thanked me, or am I hallucinating?
At this, I grinned, brushing a strand of my hair behind my ear.
"Welcome," I muttered as I looked about, my heart pounding in my chest.
Then he looked back over his shoulder at me and walked back to his car.
I entered the living room swinging my arms and humming "love me as you do," my favourite song.
He thanked me, and I chuckled as I covered my face with my hands, thinking to myself, "This indicates we've started to understand one other a bit."
I walk towards the Mansion's garden.
I gasped as I gazed onto the most magnificent garden I had ever seen.
It's just stunning.
In the rain, the garden was always a little brighter.
It was as if the sky's gift wasn't water, but liquid magic, cleaning our world to reveal what had always been there, nature in her simple glory.
Buttercups became gold, grass became the shadow of every dreamer's meadow, roots were quenched, and the soil was regenerated.
Following the patter of the rain, bursts of birdsong greeted them, their hearts thrilled at the rain's arrival.
Wow, I thought to myself as I gazed at the lovely flowers.
The rich aroma of the lilies filled the room. Their white petals stood out against the stone walls and were truly stunning. I saw that their stamens had been removed upon closer inspection. A hand reaches out to the beautiful pearly petals.
It's not just lilies.
The crimson velvet flowers move and dance.
Their intoxicating scent entices me to stay.
Its tall, frail green stem stands out in the grass, yet its golden, flowering petals do not.
I sat on fresh green grass, absorbing the pleasant scent.
It's a garden with a lot of scents.
Aaron's mansion features an incredible and lovely garden.
It's stunning.
While I was fixing Aaron's tie today, he happened to see me.
Not only that, but the blush and emotion I had that time when he accepted the lunchbox I packed for him and our eyes met on each other
What is happening to me, what are you doing with me? I never had that feeling while I was with Eliot. Aaron, I don't know why my heart started racing when he only looked at me; even his idea made me flush, but I smiled sheepishly after thinking about him.
While looking up at the blue sky.
Chapter 9
It's late at night, and I'm missing Aaron utterly. I'm not sure why, God, but I'm missing him so much.
I left feeling sorry for him after today's incident.
I hear a car's echoes. Aaron enters the home a few minutes later. Over the couch, I'm drumming my fingers.
During this, he is removing his tie and unbuttoning his shirt. He gave me a sidelong glance.
I instantly averted my gaze. My cheeks began to flush. I took a few steps back and looked around, but I couldn't seem to keep my gaze on him.
He walks up the stairs and into his room.
After a few moments.
I reached for the dining room and turned to see him approaching. At the table, he sat in a head chair.
After that, Amy and the other maids arrived and began serving our meal.
We're both silent; he doesn't say anything to me.
But I want to talk to him and ask him how his day was, but I know he won't want to talk to me.
I press my lips together, embarrassed to be around him.
He stood to go after dinner, giving me a brief glance.
My phone buzzed as he walked away, and it was my brother Wilber called.
"Hey bro," I murmured.
"So, how's my boo-boo?" he asked, laughing.
My brother refers to me as "Booboo."
"Ugh, quit up, I'm 9 months older than you," I joked, "you should call me elder sister."
"Well, Grandpa is missing you," he added, "and when he finds out about your marriage, he demands to see you."
"Yeah, I'm missing my grandpa as well," I admitted.
Wilber says to me, "Here, talk to him."
"Eter, my girl, how are you doing?" my grandfather inquired.
Tears welled up in my eyes as I heard his lovely voice.
"Grandpa, I am amazing. how are you doing." I enquired.
"What do you expect, Wilber forbids me from eating sweets, but I want to eat. I don't give a damn about ridiculous blood pressure and sugar levels; instead, I want to enjoy spicy and delicious meals. I don't care what happens to me as long as I get to eat my favourite cuisine." He stated.
"Grandpa Seriously, you're acting like a toddler, which isn't good for your health. At the very least, try not to eat spicy food for a month as your doctor advised, then eat after you know your blood pressure and sugar levels are high." I sighed and said
"No, no, I won't understand any explanation; okay, I'll eat anything I want, and from what I've learnt, you've married; how is your husband doing? what he does to you? Tell me what you think! Did he treat you well? If not, then I'll have to teach him some good lessons. I am a retired police officer." He stated his argument.
My maternal grandfather was, in fact, a former cop. He was feared by everyone when he was younger. His harshness toward lawbreakers is a particularly striking incident.
"No, no, grandpa," I answered roughly twice, "my husband loves me so much, he is such a caring husband, he never mistreats me, he loves me so much."
"Hmm, so I'm missing my girl when you come to see me," he explained.
"I'll ask Aaron about it, and I'll be there shortly to fulfil my willingness," I told him.
I have to ask Aaron about my meeting with my grandfather as I hang off the phone.
Aaron won't let me leave the house since he is a multi-billionaire with a slew of rivals and enemies, and after the papers scam, he stated he wants to keep a check on me to make sure I'm not working with his foes. No matter how hard I try to persuade him otherwise, he will never believe me even though I don't know anything, I don't work for the enemy, I didn't betray him, and I have no idea who that hooded man was who handed me the letter that day.
I made Aaron's favourite coffee for him; I'm not sure how he'll react when I give him coffee, but I can try to give our marriage a chance, and I'll also talk to him about seeing my grandfather.
I approach his study room after making his coffee. I open the door and walk into his study.
I was observing him as he sat in a chair, raving loudly at someone. He was completely unaware that I had already entered his study room.
"Yes, now finish that method of handing over all the stakes of RESOURCES AND LIMITED COOPERATION to me," Aaron growled at the phone. "It's my father's other company, but he set up a condition prior to his death that it will be passed to me only once I am married, so now that I am married, make sure passing all the proportions carefully to me I want it at any cost is that clear to you Ryan?"
So, the real reason he marries me is because he wants the company of his father.
Then he hangs up the phone and slams it against the wall so hard that his phone screen shatters into a million pieces right in front of my eyes. Then Aaron became aware of my presence. His gaze was drawn to mine.
His enraged eyes paused at me as he scrutinized me.
"What the hell are you doing here?" he yells, and I recoil from his shrill tone.
"I, uh... I had been j... I've just come to give you some coffee." I took a breath and swallowed.
He approaches me and laughs coldly at me, "oh, you came here to offer me a coffee," he says sarcastically, as he takes the coffee mug I prepared for him and leaves it on the table. It shatters into sharp pieces. I cringed and drew my eyes closed; I despise the sound of glass echo because it makes me nauseous.
I opened my eyes and looked at him; he was staring at me with a ferocious anger in his eyes. I bit the inside of my lower lip.
"Listen, drop this drama, I know people like you who don't know anything but betrayal, you're nothing to me except the girl I'm using for my benefit, you're a backstabber, that's why you're involved in that information leak scam right, who knows what you're planning against my company with my enemies, aren't you working with them?" he hissed angrily at me. I saw utter hatred in his eyes when I peered into them.
"Why will I work for them?" I asked, squinting and fisted my hands. I don't know why he didn't believe me; I'm not engaged in this mess, but he'll never trust me.
"You know what, I'm not going to explain anything to you right now because I know you'll never believe me no matter how hard I try," I yelled violently at him.
I gasped and winced as a sharp pain passed through my back and his firm grip on my arm slammed me against the wall; I gasped and winced as a sharp pain passed through my back and his tight grip on my arm.
"How dare you raise your voice at me, don't do it again, because if you do, I'll do something you can't possibly conceive. You have no idea what I'm capable of, and you have no clue what I'm capable of doing to you "He gave me a sneer.
He yelled, "Now get out."
I began walking out of his study, a sharp Stab into my leg skin, but I didn't mind. I proceed and exit his study and enter my bedroom; I am in pain and fall to the floor of my room. My eyes are still welling up with tears. The agony I'm experiencing is a heartache rather than a physical aching.
I can't stand how he never believes me and how much he loathes me. I'm not sure why, but it hurts like hell that he has such an impact on me.
It's as if there's nothing there. A gloomy emptiness. A never-ending dark void that eats everything, leaving you with no sensations. Empty. Nothing can quell the emptiness of your hollow spirit, which lurks in the shadows, away from any other human life because it can't stand to pretend that everything is well.
My vision began to blur soon after. When my stomach gave up, I knew I was about to pass out. My innards felt like they were being replaced by a dark hole. The nausea then spread from my stomach to my brain. The floor beneath my feet was soft, not as soft as a hard carpet, but not as soft as oak planks. My vision became blurry, but not because tears were welling up in my eyes. Everything became hazy, and then I couldn't see anything at all. My body's feeling went away till everything was black.
