Flash Marriage To The Fake Comatose Billionaire Summary

Phoenix Tucker's escape plan was simple: marry a comatose billionaire and vanish from the assassins hunting her. But the mansion that promised safety soon became a cage of suspicion. During a routine sponge bath, she felt Cale Sterling's muscles coiled like steel and his body react to her touch. That night, under her assassin alias at an underground club, a masked stranger ambushed her with terrifying strength—and the same cedarwood scent as her husband. He whispered her secret codename before disappearing. Racing home, she brutally twisted Cale's cheek, desperate for a reaction, but his heart monitor never wavered. Dropping her timid act, Phoenix swore to expose the predator sharing her bed and tear off his mask, no matter the cost.

Chapter 1 of Flash Marriage To The Fake Comatose Billionaire

A cold, private hospital room. The heart monitor beeped, green waveform crawling slowly across the screen. The smell of antiseptic couldn't hide the stale air of death.

The lawyer stood at the foot of the bed, reading the lines without expression.

"Do you, Phoenix Tucker, take this man, Cale Sterling, to be your lawfully wedded husband?"

Phoenix stood by the bed. She wore a cheap beige dress — fabric so thin it was almost see-through, the shoulder seams half an inch too loose. It looked borrowed.

In the bed lay a man. Cale Sterling. Sovereign Bay's former golden heir. Now just a breathing statue.

His mother, Catherine Sterling, stood in the corner. Chanel suit immaculate, lips pressed into a thin line. Her gaze crawled slowly over Phoenix — up, then down — like inspecting a new tool: cheap, but useful for now.

"I do."

Phoenix's voice trembled slightly. Good acting. Her fingers gave the hem of her dress a small pinch, then let go.

This wasn't a wedding. It was a transaction. She traded the title "Mrs. Sterling" for her life — to hide from the people hunting her.

"The rings."

Catherine produced a velvet box, touching only its edge with her fingertips. The lid flipped open. A diamond the size of a bullet.

Phoenix took the ring, turned, and took Cale's left hand. It lay limp on the sheet — but the palm was broad, the knuckles calloused. Her fingertips met his skin. Cool, but not cold.

She slid the ring onto his fourth finger. As she pushed it all the way down, she had the faint sense that his finger stiffened for a moment — but it might have been her imagination.

"Now," the lawyer said, "you may kiss your husband."

Phoenix leaned down. Her shadow fell across his face. Beneath the sterile air of the room, she caught another scent —

Cedarwood. And a faint metallic coldness, like fresh snow.

The smell made her pause for a heartbeat. An image flickered through her mind: a dark hallway, emergency lights flashing, the air thick with whiskey and rust.

And a man's silhouette. Baseball cap pulled low, only his jawline visible. They had fought. Her blade had cut his arm. His grip on her wrist had been like iron. In a flash of emergency light, she had glimpsed pale blue eyes.

Then she had run.

She had never thought much about that memory. But now — this scent, cedarwood and metal — it felt like a needle slipping into the gaps of that memory.

Her lips brushed his cheek. Barely half a second. His skin was cool, with a hint of stubble.

She straightened up. Quickly.

The memory was still turning in her head, but she pushed it down. Impossible. A man in a year-long coma couldn't have been in a place like that.

"The ceremony is concluded," Catherine said. "As of today, you are Mrs. Sterling."

The lawyer closed his briefcase. The latch clicked.

"Your room is ready. Mind your behavior."

"Yes."

Phoenix lowered her eyes. Her gaze rested on the floor for a second, then she lifted her face, turned, and walked toward the door.

The housekeeper, Mrs. Davison, stood by the door like a silent statue. As Phoenix passed her, she didn't pause, but her fingers unconsciously pinched the hem of her dress — that cheap hem that didn't belong to her.

At the doorway, she stopped.

Not hesitation. Something less than a thought — like a breeze brushing the back of her neck.

She didn't turn around. But standing in the doorframe with her back to the bed, she paused for two seconds. Her shoulders tightened slightly, as if waiting for something — a sound, a movement, a shift in breathing.

Nothing.

She kept walking.

The hallway was long, the light harsh white. Most of her footsteps were swallowed by the carpet, only the occasional click of her heel against a floor seam breaking the silence.

The housekeeper walked two steps ahead, never looking back.

Phoenix's eyes swept past the wall sconces, a painting, a closed door. Her mind was doing its normal work: memorizing the layout, the room numbers, the camera positions. Instinct.

But that small voice — very small — was still there.

Something is off.

She couldn't say what. Not the scent — that had already faded by the doorway. Not the touch — she had barely made contact for half a second. Not the face — she had never clearly seen the face of the man in that hallway anyway.

It was a feeling of mismatch. Like a puzzle piece that didn't fit and couldn't be thrown away.

She pushed the voice down. Overthinking.

Phoenix disappeared around the corner.

In the room, Catherine was still standing there. She glanced down at her son — two seconds. No touch. No goodbye. Not even a sigh. Then she turned and left, her heels clicking in an even rhythm.

The door closed.

The heart monitor kept beeping, the green line crawling unhurriedly across the screen.

Five seconds of silence.

Then — the "vegetable" in the bed. His right hand. Index and middle finger — moved. Barely. Like an extra tremor after a pulse, like a man half‑asleep finally allowing himself the smallest of responses.

Then everything went still.
