Chapter 1
My mother asked me to go home for marriage. She said that the other party was the fiancée my father had chosen for me, and we had been engaged since childhood.
Helplessly, I ended my three-year road trip and chose to go meet my fiancée.
After all, that was the fiancée my father arranged for me before he died. If she is suitable, I will follow my father's will.
But I didn’t expect that after I contacted the other party, the other party just sent me an address.
According to the address, I arrived as scheduled and found that it was The Windsor Club.
Before I even entered the door, I was stopped by someone.
"Sir, our club is a membership-only club. You cannot enter!"
When I was stopped by the waiter, I had no choice but to call Sophia Delaney.
But I didn't expect that as soon as the call was connected, I heard Sophia's laughter.
"Haha, I didn't expect you to actually come!"
"Don't you think about it? I am the daughter of the Delaney Family and the future heir of the Delaney Family. I am already worlds apart from your family!"
"Silas Vanderbilt, you are not worthy of me!"
Sophia's mocking voice came from the other end of the line.
"Sophia, do you mean to cancel our engagement?"
I said coldly.
I ended my trip to meet Sophia, but I didn't expect to encounter something like this.
"Since you are here, let's meet!"
On the other end of the phone, Sophia apparently talked to a few people, and then said with a hint of sarcasm: "I'll send someone to pick you up!"
After saying this, she hung up the phone.
Then, I saw a man with greasy hair and powdered face walking out. He walked up to me, looked at me, and a contemptuous smile appeared on his face.
"Are you Silas? I'm Mrs. Delaney's assistant!"
He looked at me and said, "Our young lady is a gifted girl from heaven!"
"She is the richest woman in our city. You? You are not worthy of our young lady!"
As he spoke, he sneered, "Don't you see how poor you are now?"
"You don't really think that our young lady will marry you?"
Hearing this, I glanced at the other person.
I knew he disliked the way I was wearing.
In the past few years, I have been traveling and have never dressed up. My clothes are a little worn and look a bit old.
I chose to ignore what the person in front of me said.
However, now, I have become more judgmental towards my fiancée.
Even the fiancée my father chose for me, I felt that she might not be suitable for me.
In that case, just meet in person and talk things out with the other party.
After all, this is the fiancée my father chose for me, and I want to make things clear to her.
Seeing that I didn't say anything, the other party snorted coldly, then turned around and said, "Follow me closely!"
"This place is a high-end club. A country bumpkin like you will never have the chance to get in in your lifetime!"
"Don't walk around randomly, or you might bump into something!"
"I'm telling you, any brick in this place is much more valuable than your life!"
The other person looked at me with contempt in his eyes and said, "I don't know why our master would let you and our young lady get married when you were young!"
"But a country bumpkin like you has no self-awareness at all!"
"Do you really think that you can marry a wealthy wife and change your life?"
The other party kept scolding me along the way, but I simply chose to ignore him.
Chapter 2
Now, I have absolutely no interest in that woman named Sophia.
They have no idea that I have not only seen clubs like this, but that I have over a few hundred of them in my neighborhood.
Even the high-end club where he is now belongs to me.
He took me into a private room, and when the door opened, I saw quite a few people inside.
There are many men and women among them.
As soon as the greasy-haired man opened the door of the private room, he walked straight towards Sophia.
"Mr. Delaney, I've brought the person!"
"Mr. Delaney, with all due respect, he is not worthy of you. Look at him, how poorly he is dressed!"
The man walked up to Sophia and whispered, "Besides, I just brought him in and I could even smell his stench!"
"I don't know which construction site this guy is working as a laborer on, but now that he knows you have an engagement, he dares to come to your house!"
The other party whispered to Sophia: "Mr. Delaney, you can't be fooled by him!"
"Of course I won't!"
Sophia said with a smile, and then turned her eyes to me.
When she looked at me, I could still see the disgust in Sophia's eyes.
"You are Silas, right?"
Sophia said calmly, "I really didn't expect you to be so ignorant of yourself!"
"You don't really think I'll marry you?"
When she finished saying this, many people around her were pointing at me.
"Look at this poor guy, his clothes are almost white from washing!"
"If Sophia marries a man like this, she will be embarrassed in the future!"
"Of course Sophia won't marry him, but he came to our party today, and Sophia said it would be fun to play with him!"
I listened to the discussions around me, and a hint of impatience appeared on my face.
"Mrs. Delaney, my name is Silas! Originally, I was supposed to be your fiancé!"
I looked at Sophia and said coldly, "But since Mrs. Delaney is not interested, I'm leaving!"
At this moment, I no longer have the slightest interest in Sophia.
Such a woman is not a good match at all.
I can also go back and report to my mother.
But I didn't expect that when I was about to leave, Sophia's assistant suddenly stretched out his foot and tripped me.
The next moment, I lost my balance and crashed to the side.
In order to keep my balance, I grabbed something in panic.
However, when the man saw me stop, he reached out and actually pushed over a vase next to him.
The vase shattered and I frowned at the other person.
The other party looked at me and said, "You broke the vase, you have to pay for it!"
"This vase is an antique, worth millions!"
"You are a country bumpkin, you will never be able to pay for it in your lifetime!"
Hearing this, I couldn't help but laugh.
I was standing three steps away from the vase, but the other party said that I was the one who broke the vase.
I turned to look at Sophia, with a hint of coldness in my eyes, and asked, "Mrs. Delaney, what do you mean?"
Sophia looked at me with contempt and said, "Didn't my assistant tell me? You broke the vase, you have to pay for it!"
"You can't even pay for this vase, can you?"
"If you can't pay it back, then beg me. Maybe I can pay it for you!"
I looked at Sophia and the men and women watching the show around me, and at that moment, I understood.
Chapter 3
Sophia did this on purpose.
But I just can’t understand. If she doesn’t want to marry me, she should just tell me clearly.
Why are you targeting me like this?
When I turned to look at Sophia, she looked at me arrogantly and said, "Silas, do you know! Because of you, I have become the laughing stock of the whole city!"
"A girl like me, who is so darling, actually has a relationship with someone like you!"
She looked at me with particular anger.
And when I heard her say that, I understood.
It turns out that in her eyes, her marriage to me was a joke.
And that's why she designed to frame me.
At this moment, I looked at Sophia in front of me and felt very grateful.
If I married Sophia, it would be a big trouble.
This kind of woman is simply not worth having.
"Silas, as long as you kneel down and beg me, and then tell everyone that you are not worthy of me, I will help you compensate for this vase!"
Sophia looked at me and spoke coldly.
Behind Sophia, her male assistant pushed me towards Sophia.
"We, Mr. Delaney, are helping you with compensation. This is a great favor to a country bumpkin like you!"
"Look at what you look like now. You look poor and shabby. How can you be worthy of Mr. Delaney?"
The male assistant looked at me coldly and spoke out.
"Liam, you touched this country bumpkin, you have to wash your hands later, otherwise, who knows if this country bumpkin has any virus!"
On the side, some of Sophia's girlfriends laughed and said, "How can such a country bumpkin think he is worthy of Sophia?"
"How dare you come to my door!"
"I think! When he came here, this country bumpkin probably thought that he would definitely get the beauty!"
"Liam! This is your biggest competitor!"
Several women around Sophia kept talking.
When I heard this, I turned and looked at the male assistant beside me.
No wonder, this man has always disliked me since he met me. It turns out that he has a relationship with Sophia.
Hearing this, Liam said with a smile on his face: "Ladies, how can I be worthy of our Mr. Delaney!"
"I just hope that Mr. Delaney can get married in the future and let me stay with Mr. Delaney. That's enough!"
Liam looked at Sophia and said with a smile: "After all, I am not worthy of Mr. Delaney's daughter. Only the sons of the top wealthy families are worthy of Mr. Delaney!"
I stood aside, listening to their conversation, and immediately sneered.
Sophia has an unclear relationship with this male assistant, but still wants to marry into a wealthy family.
How could a truly wealthy family marry a woman like this?
"Liam, don't say that, you're actually quite good too!"
Hearing this, Sophia said aloud: "At least, he is much better than this country bumpkin!"
As she spoke, she looked at me with disgust and said, "Country bumpkin, why don't you kneel down and beg me?"
"That's right, kneel down quickly and beg Sophia, otherwise you will have to pay for the vase!"
"Can you afford to pay for a vase worth millions?"
All around me, these people kept talking to me.
When I heard what these people said, I smiled and said, "Vase, I can certainly afford to pay for it!"
"But I didn't break the vase!"
"Country bumpkin, it's useless for you to deny it. We can all prove that you were the one who broke the vase!"
Sophia looked at me and said coldly: "Now, if you kneel down and beg me, I can still pay for you. Otherwise... you won't be able to leave this club!"
