Chapter 2

The night outside the window is as dark as ink, with wind and rain blowing.

I threw the last photo into the cardboard box and sat on the bay window with my knees hugged.

I opened the tablet out of habit, and an unfinished wedding dress design came into view.

I designed it for our wedding.

After nearly two years of revisions, I still feel that there are some flaws.

Now that I can’t wear it, I’ve made up for this regret.

Without any hesitation, I dragged the design into the trash can.

It's like deleting this unequal relationship!

I moved out of the villa.

In the Kingston Family old house, only Uncle Jack and I were together.

I was lying in a rocking chair to enjoy the cool air when Alexander came over.

He squatted beside me helplessly, "It's been two days, and your anger has subsided. Can you come back with me?"

I opened my eyes and looked at Alexander, and couldn't help but laugh.

"Alexander, I've raised you for ten years. When have I ever fought with you?"

Alexander's face froze and he seemed to be about to say something but stopped.

I thought about it and felt that it was necessary to explain things to him clearly.

"Alexander, I'm moving out not because I'm angry with you, but because we are no longer suitable to live together."

"In two days, I will go to the company to hand in my resignation, and wait until you have finished your wedding..."

“That’s enough!”

Before I could finish my words, I was interrupted by Alexander's sharp shout.

He stood up with a livid face, his brows concealing anger.

"You're still saying you're not making trouble?"

"It's just a wedding, do you have to be so fussy about it?"

"I can't marry you anyway, so it doesn't matter who I marry. What's more, the Archer Family can help us gain a foothold. Why can't you figure it out?"

After he said that, he turned around and left, as if he was angry.

But I couldn't recover for a long time because of his last words.

He said, I can’t marry you anyway…

But on that rainy night two years ago, when he drunkenly pushed me against the wall, he said it clearly.

"Sister, will you marry me?"

At that time, I was shocked.

Before I could answer, his warm lips moved all the way down from my brow and bit my lips fiercely.

"Don't you want to, sister?"

I gasped and used almost all my strength to push him away.

"Alexander, you are drunk..."

He looked at me with tears in his eyes and an extremely aggrieved look.

"I'm not drunk."

"Sister, don't you like me?"

My throat was rolling and I didn't know how to respond to him.

He burst into tears out of grievance.

"Sister, promise me, okay?"

"You know, without you, I would never have been able to make it through all these years."

"Sister, if you are not with me for the rest of my life, what is the point of me guarding Kingston Group?!"

The hot tears slid from my neck into my chest, burning away the last bit of my rationality.

I pressed against his chest in my last struggle, "Alexander, you need to think clearly. Your current identity is different. You have better choices."

"I don't want it. For me, my sister is the best choice!"

All my defenses collapsed in the face of his passionate vows.

But now, he said that he couldn't marry me...

I couldn't stop laughing, but it choked and tears flowed.

When he sent me a text message, I could feel its ferocity even through the screen.

[You want to resign? That's fine. Vivian just wants to take over a position in the company. Don't wait two days. Come tomorrow and vacate the position as soon as possible.]

I can't go.

He doesn't know that I just had a painless abortion this morning and the doctor told me to stay in bed for five days.

Chapter 3

As if to deliberately piss me off, Alexander added Vivian to the work group the next day.

【Meet the new design director. 】

After Vivian introduced herself gracefully, the HR manager asked cautiously: [What about Director Serena? ]

Alexander didn't say anything, and the group fell into deathly silence.

Vivian stepped in to smooth things over, "Director Serena has to go to Santorini Island to help us set up the wedding venue, so I will take over the work for the time being. Please give me your guidance in the future!"

His lively personality livens up the work group.

But when I looked at the line of words, I sighed helplessly.

Vivian's words lifted me up.

If I quit at this time, it would be like a slap in Vivian's face; secondly, it would easily make people guess that Alexander and I had a disagreement.

After staring at the screen for a while, I set the message to do not disturb.

Then like Vivian said, I will quit after I organize this wedding for them!

Five days later, after saying hello to Uncle Jack, I flew to Santorini Island.

Santorini Island is very beautiful, which made me feel much better.

I found a team and confirmed with Vivian about the layout and arrangement of the wedding venue.

Vivian is also very easy to talk to and communicates with me promptly when I have any questions.

Everything is so harmonious!

Until one night, Vivian excitedly sent a wedding dress design.

[Sister, this is the wedding dress Alexander designed for me. Does it look good? ]

When I clicked on the picture, it was the latest version of my wedding dress design.

But I had clearly deleted the design drawing... I suddenly remembered that I had sent the version that I thought was the best to Alexander.

An unprecedented rage was roaring in my chest.

I picked up my phone and quickly dialed Alexander's number.

The phone rang for a long time and was finally picked up when it was about to hang up automatically.

Before I could say anything, Alexander's lazy voice sounded on the other end of the phone.

"What?"

I paused, trying hard to suppress the trembling in my voice before speaking.

"Alexander, why did you give Vivian the design of that wedding dress?"

Alexander was silent for a moment, then said indifferently, "What does it matter? You won't be able to use it anyway."

I gritted my teeth and showed emotion in front of Alexander for the first time.

"That's not a reason for you to take my things and give them away."

"Alexander, that design is mine. Have you ever thought about what Vivian would do if she knew the meaning behind this wedding dress?"

After a long silence, Alexander's voice gradually became colder.

"Then don't let her know."

"Unless you want to ruin this wedding!"

The call was hung up.

I opened my mouth and for the first time felt that the boy whom I had raised for ten years had become so strange!

He can give away the product of our past love, or threaten me with a clear conscience...

The day before the wedding, Alexander and Vivian flew over.

It was also the first time for me to see the wedding dress I designed being made into a finished product.

It is beautiful, even more beautiful than I had imagined.

Vivian took my hand and asked me to accompany her to try on wedding dresses.

I have no reason to refuse.

But after entering the dressing room, her expression suddenly changed.

She shook off my hand, took the scissors, and cut the wedding dress into pieces frantically.

I was stunned for a moment and was about to stop her, but she kicked over the stool, slapped herself hard, and lay on the ground.

Before I could react, the dressing room door was kicked open.

Chapter 4

Alexander rushed in.

Vivian covered her face and cried even more miserably.

"I'm sorry, sister, I really didn't know you designed this wedding dress for yourself."

"If I had known, I would never have claimed it as my own."

Hearing this, Alexander's face darkened.

"Did she hit you?"

Vivian turned her face away and refused to say anything.

Alexander seemed to understand everything. He turned to me and slapped me in the face without saying a word.

The smell of blood filled my mouth.

I tilted my head, unable to believe that Alexander would one day do something to me.

Vivian rushed over and grabbed Alexander.

"Alexander, how could you hit your sister? It's not your sister's fault. It's our fault."

"It's just that tomorrow is the wedding, where are we going to get another wedding dress?"

Alexander looked at me and sneered, "Don't be afraid, Serena Sterling is best at couture mending."

"Since she was the one who destroyed the wedding dress, she should repair it herself until it is exactly the same as before."

I held back the sourness in my eyes, turned my head, wiped the blood from the corner of my lips with my fingers, and smiled.

Yes, couture mending is my specialty.

But has he forgotten how I developed my skills?

At that time, the Kingston Family had just collapsed. I was starving and often had creditors visiting me.

I was still a minor and couldn't find a job, and only one craftsman was willing to give me a living.

But it was just a mouthful of food.

I can't afford to support Alexander, let alone pay the interest my creditors are asking for.

In order to live a stable life as soon as possible, I practiced my skills day and night.

After my skills improved, I would take the initiative to take some work from my master and go home to help him.

After a while, my skills got better and better, and my master valued me more and more, and would give me some of the money from the work.

I still remember one time when I was staying up too long, I suddenly couldn’t see anything clearly and my eyes couldn’t stop streaming.

Alexander hugged me, crying and swearing.

"Sister, when I grow up, I will never let you sew clothes again."

But now, not only did he ask me to sew a wedding dress for the person who slandered me, he also asked me to restore it to its original state overnight!

For the first time, I was disappointed with Alexander.

"Alexander, I raised you for ten years, and this is how you repay me?"

"You didn't even ask a single question, but just convicted me based on her one-sided story, right?"

Far from feeling the slightest bit of guilt, Alexander even held Vivian in his arms.

"Serena, don't talk to me about favors. If it weren't for my mom, you would have been dead long ago."

"I don't want to listen to your excuses. Didn't you say you wanted to repay my mom? Then fix this wedding dress tonight."

After saying that, he pushed me aside and walked out with Vivian.

I took a swaying step and tears rolled down from the corners of my eyes.

"If I sew this wedding dress, will we be even now?"

Alexander paused slightly, but said nothing and left with Vivian.

I sniffed and took the torn wedding dress.

The material of the wedding dress is special, so when repairing it, you must use the same material and the same color of silk thread.

But fortunately, it is made of the same material as the evening dress Alexander gave me.

I locked myself in the hotel room and spent the whole night taking apart and sewing.

I didn't know how many bloody holes I pierced with my fingers before I finally restored the wedding dress to its original state.

When it was delivered before the wedding, Vivian had already put on another more gorgeous wedding dress.

She looked at me in surprise, "Oh, sister, you really sewed all night?"
