CHAPTER FOUR.

“What the hell do you think you are doing?” Gene snapped.

“Wow another nerd” Leo muttered rolling his eyes, I boiled in anger as I stood up from my chair pushing gene back by the shoulder, Gene couldn’t fight Leo even if she tried, he was way stronger and muscular than her and to top it off he came from a strong wolf bloodline so he was more stronger than us and no one could deny it.

“You know if you actually wanted the sandwich that much you could have just asked or better still go buy yourself some” Debbie said glaring at him.

“Oh please, why would I want that, I was just saving the ugly nerd from getting fatter than she already is, she should be thanking me even”

“But if she really wants to have it that bad, she can go ahead,” he said, picking up my carton of milk and pouring it over my head.

Leo was really getting me mad, my hair was soaked with milk which now stuck to my skin, I was starting to feel irritated, I was so focused on myself that I didn’t notice when Gene punched Leo square in the joy, until the loud gasps that erupted in the Cafeteria made me look in their direction.

Gene stood in front of a very angry Leo as he stared at her with so much hate and anger, his eyes twitching as he gritted his teeth, but obviously Gene didn’t notice his anger.

“You are such a bully, what makes you think you can just waltz in here and treat my friend like tr-” Gene is cut short by a painful slap, followed by a punch to her jaw, Leo holds her tight my her neck, punching her again, gene is unable to fight back as Leo is stronger than her, I quickly rush to them, pulling at his hands.

“Leo please stop” I cried out as blood spilled out of Gene’s mouth, Claire and Debbie looked terrified as they stared at Gene.

Leo doesn’t listen to my pleas as he keeps beating Gene.

“Leo stop! Please stop” I begged as Gene was slowly starting to lose consciousness, Leo finally let go of her, he straightens his shirt as he backs off, Gene laid on the floor limp, tears streamed down my face as I kneel beside her raising her head up, Debbie and Claire quickly rush to assist me carry her up, the whole student in the Café watched us as we carried Gene to the nurse.

“Don’t worry Gene you’ll be alright” I said, patting her head as I led her to the infirmary. This was all my fault. If only she hadn’t stood up for me, Leo would have never beaten her. I'm just bad luck to all of them.

The nurse quickly rushes to Gene on seeing her and placed her on the bed, and started treating her.

“What the hell happened to her?” she questioned her face filled with anger.

“Leo Miller happened” Claire seethed.

“What did he do?” she asked with raised eyebrows.

“He tried to bully my friend here, Angela and even poured her milk, Gene only tried to fight for her and he made her his punching bag without even remorse” Debbie gritted out in anger, while I stood staring at Gene with teary eyes, Leo would pay if anything happened to her.

The nurse only hummed in reply walking off, a few minutes after she returned the intercom switched on and I and Leo’s name were called to the principal's office.

Just great, note the sarcasm.

“I’ll be back” I said with a tight smile.

“Take care”

“Be careful” they both said, which I hummed in reply.

I arrived at the principal's office to see Leo already seated in one of the office chairs.

“Took you long enough” the principal said with a stern look

“Take a seat” he ordered, I sat down quietly next to Leo not sparing him a glance, and I did not look at the principal as I just stared behind him, not ready to see the injustice that was ready to take place.

“What happened Angela?” he asked.

“Sir I know you already know the full story as the nurse had probably told you everything so why ask me?” I gritted folding my hand into fists.

“Angela! Is that how you speak?” he said, his voice rising.

“Sir I’m only speaking my mind”

“You are being rude girl” he seethed glaring at me.

“Whatever you say sir”

“And look at me while talking to you” he shouts, I take longer than expected before I stare into his eyes, he was furious as I watched him grit his teeth in anger.

“What happened Angela?” he gritted out.

“Well Leo here found it his pleasure to bully me, telling me how fat I am and how I shouldn’t eat a sandwich, which he threw to the floor might I add, he also dumped a carton of milk on me, my hair is still sticky from milk as I haven’t wash it off yet, Gene is my friend and she tried to intervene like every normal friend would and Leo took it upon himself to beat her to death” I seethed turning to look at Leo, I gave him a cold glare and all he did was smirk, no remorse in his eyes.

He was really a bastard.

“Well Leo wasn’t wrong on what he said, you are fat” the principal said, making me turn to look at him with a glare, I knew he would take sides after all Leo’s dad was the school board chairman.

“Sir bullying and verbal abuse is a crime and is punishable by law” I seethed.

“Do not quote law for me Angela, You have detention now get out of my office you spoiled brat” he yelled out angrily banging his table.

Great just great I had detention all because of Leo and it was only on his first day.

CHAPTER FIVE.

I walked out of the principal office fuming with anger.

Of course he would take Leo’s side after all his dad was one of the strongest bloodlines and also a board member of the school, the injustice in the werewolf realm was slowly pissing me off.

I trailed back to the infirmary IN hopes of seeing Gene, but she was no longer there likewise Debbie and Claire, I panicked immediately rushing to the nurses office.

“Where is Gene?” I asked with my eyes wide.

“Calm down miss, Gene was sent back home to heal properly, Debbie and Claire went home with her” she said with a small smile, I heaved a sigh of relief, realizing a breath I didn’t realize I was holding.

“Okay I should be going” I said and walked out of the infirmary to my next class, as I couldn’t ditch school due to my fucking detention.

The shrilling sound of the school bell ringing for dismissal startled me as I shot up in my seat running my hands through my hair; I had fallen asleep in history class.

Just great.

Everyone walked out of the class excited to leave this hellhole off a school; I quietly packed my bags and walked out of class to my detention class.

“Good evening sir” I greeted as I took a seat at the far corner of the class, I had detention with sir Adams, our physics teacher, he was very strict and always spoke in calculation, always sarcastic, he never answered a question without involving physics or being sarcastic and it was annoying, it made me wonder if he was more human than wolf.

He doesn’t even respond to my greeting as he stares into his book.

“Ass,” I muttered.

I rest my head on the desk and continue my nap hoping to sleep away all my worries.

I’m woken up with a harsh tap on my shoulder.

“Hey girl Mrs. Evelyn called you to her office so get moving” he said glaring down at me, my vision blurred a little as I was really sleepy.

“Huh??” I said, trying to rest my head back on the chair.

“I said Mrs. Evelyn wants to see you” he shouts, shaking me hard, sleep immediately leaves my eyes as I glared at him; I hate it when I am forced to wake up.

“Get out of my class girl” he shouts walking to his seat, I roll my eyes at him in response ambling out of his class to Mrs. Evelyn office, the school halls were eerily quiet as no one except a few teachers were around, numerous thoughts ran through my head as I fiddled with my hands, wondering why Mrs. Evelyn would summon me to her office.

I really hope it’s not about the biology test we took earlier today, I was so paranoid about everything that happened yesterday that I wrote trash in almost all the answers, I felt like my soul was in a different body while writing the test.

I knocked softly on her door after much thought.

“Come in,” she said.

I turned the door knob slowly; opening it I stepped in with a tight smile on my face. I walked up to her table and stared down at her.

“Good evening ma’am you sent for me” I said softly.

“Oh yes Angela take a seat” she said pushing the script she placed on her table aside.

I sat down extremely slowly on the chair with a nervous smile on my face, and I knew she could smell my nervousness as she smiled sweetly at me trying to comfort me which was not helping.

“Angela don’t be nervous I just have something to ask” she said in a soft voice.

“Yes ma’am, ask aw...ay” I said, stuttering at the end.

“Well I was marking the test you took today and well your marks were really poor”

“What happened Angela this is so unlike you, I mean you are one of my best students in my class, is anything troubling you, you could tell me and I promise to help you in the best ways I can” she said softly, giving me an assuring smile, I pondered on what she said for some time, if I told her she could probably stop Leo from bullying me and his influence in my life would stop, so I told her, I told her everything, from the very first day he had pushed me down in the hallway and my skirt raised up for all to see in middle school to the last prank he played on me on his last day, even how he announced that I had herpes which made no boy approach me, I told her everything tears pricking at the corner of my eyes as I told her everything, how Leo turned my life into a nightmare.

It’s been two days since I told Mrs. Evelyn everything and since then I haven’t seen Leo neither had I been bullied, Gene had healed completely and we were now talking happily I was really grateful to Mrs. Evelyn as I was no longer being bullied, little did I know it was just the calm before the storm.

Classes had been dismissed and I had to meet Debbie in her car so we could go home, but I was stopped halfway.

I large hand dragged, placing his hand on my mouth preventing me from shouting for help, the unknown person pulled me to a car and pushed me inside locking it, I struggled to open the door but It wouldn’t budge, the driver’s door opens and Leo enters, my heart sinks into my stomach the moment I saw him, all he did was smile and zoom of to god knows where.

“Leo where are you taking me, let me go now” I yelled frantically trying to open the door but he doesn’t even bother to look at me instead he increases the music.

Finally he slowed down and parked in a forest.

“Leo please if it’s about what I told Mrs. Evelyn forgive me I won’t repeat it again” I begged as he pulled me out of the car, I kept begging him, I was really scared of what he had installed for me.

'Don't you think about that' Angela said inwardly a cold glare on her face

"Can I go now?" Angela gritted out.

"I don't answer to anyone, and I thought I told you that earlier? " Leo smirked.

" Am sorry," Angela said, tilting her head slightly in a mock bow.

"That's good" Leo patted her head and entered his car.

"Phewww." Angela sighed wiping her head with the back of her hand.

"That was close." She told herself.

" I asked you something, and instead of you answering you are laughing at me."

"Am sorry but it is quite funny. Debbie said, squeezing her face. She was trying to keep the laughter within her mouth. But instead she burst out laughing again.

Angela looked at her confused.

She too burst into laughter because her friend's way of laughing is funny.

After 3 minutes of unstoppable laughter, the two friends finally stopped and continued their way.

"I seriously don't know why I joined you" she mumbled with a glare.

"Well my laugh is pretty contagious" she said wiggling her brows.

"I asked a question." Angela reminded me.

"You don't have to know. You are still young. " Debbie said, ruffling her hair.

" Stop it. " Angela frowned.

" So, why are you here?" Angela asked.

"After taking Gene to the hospital, I came back to school but I was told you went home. "

" Oh, " Angela said with a tight smile

After 7 minutes walking, the two girls reached their house and went straight to their bedroom.

Angela's POV

I told her all what Leo has been doing to me and she felt pity.

She advised me on what to do.I decided to raise my shoulder hard and ignore Leo tomorrow.

"What should we eat your highness?" Debbie asked for a mock bow.

" Pasta and meatballs will be good ma'am. "

" Ok, pasta and meatballs coming right away." Debbie said and dashed to the kitchen to prepare dinner.

I sat on the dining table thinking about what Debbie said.

"Don't let him bully you." She had said. " If he continues like this and you are not able to caution him, he might later rape you. "

I was filled with dread at her words. I felt hurt, lonely, antsy. I wasn't myself anymore, Leo coming into my life has just been one of hiccups.

I had no other choice than to make use of Debbie's advice, so I did, I decided to make use of her advice.

Angela sauntered into school looking like a homeless rat she didn't get any sleep and has been lazing around the whole day, her hair was tied up in a messy bun, she was dressed in a tennis skirt and hoodie, she had no makeup on and her freckles were in display, her bag hung loosely on her back as she walked into the school hallway, she groaned slightly walking to her locker she banged her head on it closing her eyes for sometime just to get a peaceful rest but it was interrupted by a smack on her ass which echoed throughout the halls.

"Of course you are you beat up Gene just because she stood up for me, she tortured me my whole life, bullied me, made me feel like some piece of trash, you haunted my childhood Leo and now you are asking me if you are that bad" Angela ranted a scoff at her last statement.

"You are unbelievable, probably not that you aren't that bad, you are the worst ever!!" She exclaimed glaring at him with an icy cold stare.

"But I am sorry for everything," he said, taking her hands.

"Huh?? You are sorry?" Angela said with wide eyes.

Angela quickly swatted his hand with a cold glare.

Leo smiled widely, dropping his act of remorse, he wanted to check if she still had memories of all he did to her and she still did.

"You better get ready for class bunny the bell would soon ring" he said walking out on her.

The shrilling sound of the school bell echoed through the walls of the School indicating school dismissal, everyone packed up their bags and trailed out of the class going to their various destinations, Angela packed her things and got ready to leave, she hung her bag loosely on one shoulder as she exited the doors of her school, she wasn't going home, as she turned around a corner going deeper into the forest, she seeked peace and scenery and what other place to get one if not in nature it self.

It was now sunset as she walked deeper into the forest looking for her favorite spot, the sun casts rays of orange and pink on the sky which reflected on the earth.

Sunset came to the highlands as God's poetry, hues from flame to heather told in soft rolling verse. It blossoms upon the cloud as sweet wild clover blooms.The setting sun came as a settled heart to the horizon, as if the sky itself could speak of love.With a flourish of romantic hand the sunset blossoms red and gold.

The orange gold stretches far and wide, the color of fire hearths and tangerines. It is but the reflection of the dawn, the promise of the rising sun that comes after the velvety night has had its say and the land has rested once more.

The sun set in the sky as fresh colors brushed upon an artist's canvas, as if those rays were destined to create a great work of art - one given to those open to capturing simple moments in the soul.

Angela stared up at the sky with a soft smile on her face, her heart felt at peace as her whole muscles stretched, nature has always been her source of calm, she loved everything about it, they way the trees submitted to the force of the wind, making its sweet melodious sounds from its rustling, the sounds the wind made when it picked up speed, the way the earth smelt sweet and fresh whenever it was about to rain, the feeling of getting wet my nature, the beautiful colors of the flowers, she was in love with nature and she knew it.

She breathed deeply taking in a calm breath, she closed her eyes ready to block everything out but her plans were paused by a rustling in the bushes.
