Chapter 1
Everything from my previous life might have been stagnant in the year of my adulthood.
The most profound memory before my death was the thousands of people surrounding my mansion.
They smashed the door. Trash was thrown through the window, hitting my face.
The smelling liquid flowed from my head to the ground.
Looking at these twisted and resentful faces, I listened to their malicious curses.
"Give us back the life of Princess Laura!"
"Why do you want to take everything?"
"Your sister has suffered enough!"
So, I resolutely hanged myself and ended my life.
...
Waking up again, I looked at the clear scene before me. I was stunned.
I saw a familiar and innocent girl smile in front of me, but she seemed much younger.
Laura Kim was wearing plain clothes and sitting straight in front of me.
The decorations in the room were familiar. It was the Snow Palace where I lived before leaving the palace.
Laura smiled kindly. Every time she framed me, she was like this, naturally making others defenseless.
"Linda, if I say it was you who stole it from me, Father will not spare you."
She pointed at a white hairpin in my hands.
I was stunned for a moment. Then I was enlightened.
So, it was this day.
On this day, Laura falsely accused me of stealing her hairpin. Thus, I began my tragic life.
Seeing me silent for a while, she smiled more brightly.
"Linda, are you ready for Father's arrival?"
Indifferently, I looked at her with a gloomy expression.
"Laura, are you sure it was me who took your hairpin?"
Laura became even more proud.
"It depends on what I say."
After a moment of sneering, I no longer hesitated.
Like a fierce tiger, I pounced on her and pulled off all our headgear, messing up our hair.
I suffered a lot of humiliation abroad in my previous life. I thus learned many secret tricks.
I knew well how to make someone endure all kinds of torment and make someone appear unscathed.
Laura and I fought together. I was covered in bruises, while she suffered internal injuries that couldn't be diagnosed.
Soon, Father Emperor arrived. He saw the large patches of bruises and cuts on my body, with blood oozing out.
On the other hand, Laura's clothes and skin were intact. I had torn off her headdress.
Father wanted to blame me, but he couldn't find a reason.
I was one step ahead, crying and recounting my miserable experience. Even though Father favored Laura, he had to maintain his image as an emperor in front of the maids.
If Laura were to cry and complain again, no one would believe her.
But Father asked me to forgive Laura and let it go.
In my previous life, I was punished by kneeling in front of Laura's palace for the whole night.
"Father, you are truly biased."
Chapter 2
When Laura left, she turned and glanced at me. She was so malicious.
I didn't know why she hated me so much.
In my previous life, I believed she was my good sister. Her sudden accusation made me suffer from the exclusion of people in the palace.
She had always been the beloved little princess of the King, while I was not even as good as someone common.
I was not favored, and I lost her as my support.
I was like struggling alone on a suspension bridge on a cliff.
I tried to beg Laura to forgive me. I didn't know what I had done wrong.
But she smiled innocently, held my hands, and pointed the knife at herself.
Since then, both the King and Kellan Shawn had been hating me.
Just like now, Kellan came to my palace to find me and accused me of framing Laura.
I looked at him. He was my husband, who had been with me for five years in my previous life. I found his face both familiar and strange.
My life abroad taught me how to defend myself. Kellan taught me what it meant to no longer love someone.
Just like every time, he looked at Laura through me.
All his gentle words and kind manners were for Laura.
All his paranoia and hatred were for me.
"Do you think it was me who hurt her after you checked my injury and her injury?"
Kellan stared at me and said, "If she says she's in pain, then she's in pain."
My heart was in pain again, but I couldn't feel the pain anymore.
I remembered Laura proudly saying in front of me, "If I say it was you who stole it, then it was."
Such unreasonable favoritism rendered her so noble.
I tried every method to climb up from the bottom, but I couldn't beat her.
I couldn't help but sigh, thinking, "Kellan, your love for her is so majestic and profound."
I realized one thing too.
All my words were just unnecessary explanations.
I no longer argued with Kellan, asking the servants to send him away.
When he left, he wanted to take away my white hairpin.
He said it belonged to Laura.
But it belonged to my mother.
Chapter 3
Before my mother died, she left the white hairpin to me.
She said it was the token of love between her and the King.
But the King never loved her. After all, he never doted on me and was so biased towards Laura.
I wear a white hairpin every day, but the King seemed to have no impression of it, showing no interest in it.
The king never looked at me affectionately, but he looked at Laura like a loving father.
That day, after I got away with Laura's trap, I knew she wouldn't let me off easily.
I patiently waited for her to show her true colors again.
That day came quickly, and her methods were clumsy.
I was pushed to the side of the Concubine Smith by passing by palace maids. The Concubine Smith fell at the right time, pulling me down with her.
And the King happened to pass by here.
Laura spoke in a coquettish manner.
"Linda, why did you collide with Concubine Smith? Oh my, Concubine Smith is bleeding! Linda, you must apologize to the King quickly. Since it's your first offense, the King may go easy on you."
Concubine Smith was the King's new favorite. She was three months pregnant. The king had been longing for this child as he was getting older.
I noticed that a piece of cloth was exposed from the side of Concubine Smith's belly. I pulled it out along with the cushion she had stuffed in there.
"Father, I discovered that Concubine Smith was pretending to be pregnant and deceiving you, the King. It is a great offense to the King! So, I set up an ambush and caught Concubine Smith in the act!"
I knelt on the ground. Every word of mine was resounding.
Laura realized that the situation was not good. She quickly changed her words.
"Laura is clever and astute. She saw through Concubine Smith's deception towards you, the King."
"Concubine Smith must love the King so much to commit such a big mistake. Please show mercy, Father."
The king had come to find faults with me after hearing Laura's words. At this moment, he could only remain silent for a moment.
"Reward her."
"Concubine Smith is demoted and confined for one month."
In my previous life, Laura only told me about everything she had done before she died. Fortunately, she revealed the whole truth before she died. Otherwise, I might not have been able to break this deadlock.
Out of the corners of my eyes, I glanced at Laura, who looked at me with dissatisfaction in her eyes.
I made a gesture and said, 'We'll see."
She became even more resentful.
As Father left, she secretly glanced back at me a few times.
I knew that she would make several tricky moves next.
