Chapter 1

The moment Bryant Harper arrived, the handsome boy took the hint and left.

He walked over slowly, picked up the bottle of red wine on the table, and looked at it.

"You are really generous, Mrs. Harper."

He sat down next to me, his burgundy suit matching the sofa I had carefully selected.

I drained the rest of the glass.

"Do you still remember who I am? Then tell me, who abandoned me and went abroad just after getting married?"

"Oh, come on."

I got a little tipsy from drinking with the handsome boy, so I couldn't see Bryant clearly for a moment.

Only then did I notice that he was holding a beautiful jewelry box in his hand.

"Is it a gift to me?"

I stretched out and pounced towards him.

Bryant quickly stuffed the jewelry box into my hands before I touched his chest.

The box made of lambskin felt soft and smooth to the touch. I muttered to myself as I opened it, "You please me with money again. I don't lack money at all. Well, the... the necklace just happens to be a perfect match for my neck."

My attitude changed as I opened the jewelry box.

In the box was a crystal clear sapphire necklace.

I realized that it was sold for a seven-figure price at an auction some time ago. It turned out that Bryant was the one who bought it with such a generous sum.

"Thank you, darling."

I held his face with my hands, wanting to give him a kiss, but he pressed on my face and pushed me away.

"You act like this right after drinking. If I hadn't come, who would you have kissed?"

I laughed secretly while thinking that Bryant would actually be jealous.

He stood up and waved his hand, indicating that I could go home.

I stood up and pretended to get drunk, swaying from side to side, and then sitting back on the sofa.

I kicked off one of my high heels and hummed.

Bryant turned around, looking helpless, came over to me, and picked me up from the sofa.

I leaned happily on Bryant's chest, which felt great to the touch, and enjoyed his care.

At this time, I acted as if I drank too much.

"Your acting is terrible."

Bryant's voice of spoil came from above his head suddenly.

I pretended not to hear anything and tightened my arms around his neck.

Later, I slept sideways in the back seat of the car, holding the sapphire necklace in my arms.

The wine club was only a ten-minute drive from home.

Entering the house, I found that Bryant's luggage was still piled in the entrance hall, and his casual clothes were on the sofa.

It looked like he came looking for me immediately after changing his clothes.

Upon entering the room, he began to undress and walked into the room.

I followed him closely, imagining the scene of our reunion tonight.

Unexpectedly, the door was slammed shut by Bryant before I could follow him in.

"Bryant, what are you doing? This is our room!"

"You want to sleep with me after drinking with another man? Go back to your room."

"Humph!"

I stood at the door and listened to the noise inside. Hearing the door being locked, I stopped pretending immediately.

I quickly returned to my room, removed my makeup, and took a shower. Before going to bed, I admired the sapphire necklace that Bryant had bought for me at a huge cost.

It was already one o'clock in the morning when I finished washing up and lay down on the bed.

Only then did I have time to open my phone, and an app sent me a notification.

"Today is the 300th day of the contract."

Actually, it was the 300th day of marriage.

On the second day, I slept until I woke up naturally as usual.

When I stretched and opened the door, Bryant was already having lunch.

He ate the last forkful of noodles, saying, "I didn't sleep all night because of the jet lag, but you slept so soundly that I almost wondered if there was anyone else in the room."

"Since you are not often at home, why should I wake up early?"

I could be as sarcastic as him.

Bryant changed the subject. "Why do you lock the door when you sleep?"

"You locked the door first, remember? I was afraid you would regret it in the middle of the night and come to my room and do something to me."

Bryant was amused by me but still insisted, "You are daydreaming again."

He cleared his dishes, put on his suit jacket, and prepared to go out.

"I'm going to the company first, and you can accompany me to the hospital to see Grandma later."

"No problem."

Chapter 2

The private hospital was very quiet in the evening.

"Mrs. Harper, you're here. Wanda has just finished her meal. I'll take you in."

Seeing me coming, a nurse came out from the nurses' station and greeted me warmly.

"No worries. I can go by myself."

I took Bryant through the corridor and found Wanda's ward with ease.

Wanda, Bryant's grandmother, who had been resting with her eyes closed, immediately perked up while seeing that it was me.

"Dear, glad to see you again."

I walked to the bed with a smile and held her hand. "Grandma, guess who comes here today?"

I moved aside, revealing Bryant behind me.

"Bryant, it's you!" Wanda laughed so hard that I couldn't see her eyes, and she reached out and pulled him over.

I sat on the sofa and peeled oranges for them, and Bryant chatted with her on the edge of the bed.

Bryant often had a cold face towards others, and whenever he smiled, he never showed any teeth.

Only in front of Wanda would he smile sincerely and talk more. It was clear that he was very good to her.

After he lost his parents at a young age, Wanda became the person closest to him.

Bryant and I could get married, all thanks to the full support of Wanda.

My grandmother and his grandmother had a good relationship for decades.

Their relationship was so close that they wanted their children to get married, but unfortunately, they gave birth to a boy, one after the other.

Later, both of them put their hope in Bryant and me.

Bryant's parents died in a plane crash when he was very young.

If the little boy hadn't had a high fever before boarding the plane, he would have also boarded the ill-fated plane.

The plane crashed and no one survived.

Because of this reason, Bryant almost avoided all trips that required flying.

At that time, the Harper family lost its host and hostess at once, and the entire group got into trouble.

It was my father who neglected his company and sacrificed himself to prevent the Harper family from going bankrupt.

During that time, my parents were too busy to take care of me.

Perhaps because they feared that Wanda wouldn't be able to take the news, I was sent to her home to accompany her with Bryant.

From then on, I was tied to Bryant, and we went to the same school from elementary school to high school.

I went abroad to study fine arts in college, while Bryant went to a famous university at home.

On the day of leaving the country, Wanda also came to see me off at the airport.

She held my hand and the hand of Bryant, who she had forced to come with her.

"Dear, I'm waiting for you to come back. Don't fall for foreigners. Don't forget Bryant!"

I could remember clearly the look on Bryant's face. He was unnatural while responding to her back then.

Last year, Wanda suddenly fell ill and fainted at home.

After she was sent to the hospital, the doctor issued a notice of critical illness.

I went to see Wanda soon after returning to the country, but I hadn't had the chance to meet Bryant yet.

Unexpectedly, the first time we met would be at the door of the emergency room.

Bryant sat on the bench at the door of the emergency room. His hair disheveled, his head lowered, and his fists clenched.

His bangs covered his eyes, and his whole body was trembling slightly.

Sitting next to him, I silently accompanied him to wait for news from the emergency room.

About half an hour later, a doctor finally came out.

Bryant stood up and asked, "How is it?"

There were tears in his eyes.

"The patient's life is not in danger for now, but she still needs to be hospitalized for observation. She will be transferred directly to the intensive care unit upstairs. Please go for the admission procedures now."

Bryant breathed a sigh of relief.

"Give me Wanda's ID. I'll go through the formalities for her. You go upstairs and wait."

Bryant turned around, his eyes still red. "Erica, thank you."

Wanda suddenly suffered from diabetic ketoacidosis and fainted in the living room.

Fortunately, Bryant had installed a camera in the living room so that he could see her condition at home.

Wanda stayed in the intensive care unit for three days. Fortunately, all indicators gradually returned to normal, and she was transferred to the general ward later.

Bryant sent me a message as soon as possible, and I quickly finished the work at hand and rushed to the hospital.

As soon as I entered the ward, Bryant was educating Wanda with a stern face.

"Did you eat candy secretly again? You've had diabetes for so many years, but you still can't control yourself."

She lay on the bed and felt aggrieved. When she saw me come in, it was as if she had seen a savior.

"Dear, you're here. Come here and sit down!"

Seeing me come in, Bryant said nothing more and put on his poker face again.

Wanda held my hand and chatted with me.

"Dear, young people nowadays get married really late.

"Bryant is no exception. He stays in the company all day and never goes out to socialize. He's in his twenties and doesn't date any girls.

"I'm not afraid of sickness and death, but the thought of not being able to see him get married before I die is..."

I couldn't help but interrupt her and tell her not to be so upset.

Wanda kept talking about marriage, and I could know what she meant.

Looking at Bryant, I found he was just busy playing with his phone, pretending he didn't hear anything.

I really wanted to tell Wanda that it was Bryant who didn't agree, not me.

Chapter 3

Half a year later, Wanda's illness relapsed again, and this time she stayed in the intensive care unit for five days and was still not released.

At that time, I was on a business trip in Hasnan and couldn't go back for a while.

To my surprise, Bryant drove for more than two hours from Shirling to Hasnan on a night train and knocked on the door of my hotel room.

At two o'clock in the morning, besides me, who hadn't removed my makeup yet, there were two handsome guys sitting on my bed in the room.

I gasped upon seeing him.

Well, the situation was a bit complicated at this time.

Fearing that others would see three men in my room, I pulled Bryant into the room and closed the door immediately.

We four in the room looked at each other.

"Erica, how about we go first?" One of the handsome guys spoke first.

Bryant stared at me with a look of disbelief as if I had an affair with them.

After returning to the country, I prepared to publish my own album while opening an internet celebrity agency with my best friend, Lea Dorrans.

This time, I came to Hasnan for business and interviewed two internet celebrities.

We had originally agreed to meet the next day, but because Wanda fell ill, I moved the meeting forward to the evening.

Only in this way could I head back home early the next morning.

After the busy day, it was already late at night when I finally had time.

For convenience, I invited both of them to the hotel at the same time.

Under such circumstances, I could avoid being alone with a man...

In my opinion, I was quite well-informed and had seen all kinds of handsome guys.

But as soon as I opened the door, it still made my face blush to see two handsome young men.

"Hi, Erica. I'm Jason."

Jason was still a college student with fluffy curly hair, smiling at me.

"Isaac."

With the opposite personality to Jason, the other one had attracted a large number of fans with his cold temperament on social media.

He, who just introduced his name, was as aloof as he showed on social media.

To maintain my professional image, I quickly turned around, tried to keep a straight face, and invited them in.

That was great. They looked as good as in the picture.

I ushered them into the house. "You guys take a seat first."

Only then did I notice that the sofa was covered with documents that had been thrown around in a hurry that afternoon.

I was awkward and tidied up the corner of the bed to make room.

"Well, sit here first."

Jason sat down on the edge of the bed with a smile, while Isaac frowned slightly. After Jason sat down, he sat down hesitantly.

I just got back to the hotel room and turned on the air conditioning.

Perhaps because it was too hot, Isaac unbuttoned the first button of his shirt and pulled it outwards.

My attention was attracted by his bony hands and the vaguely visible collarbone...

I really loved my job.

Just at this moment, another one knocked on the door hurriedly.

It was weird. I only made an appointment with two people, so I wondered why someone was knocking on the door.

I opened the door and then saw Bryant, who was sweating profusely.

Although he looked a little disheveled, I had to admit that he was very handsome.

"Erica, let's get married." Bryant shocked me even more.

My eyes widened, unable to believe what I heard.

The man, who rejected me twice, chased me all the way from Shirling to Hasnan and said he wanted to marry me.

I suddenly realized that two other people were in the room watching the fun.

I turned sideways, and Bryant could see Jason and Isaac sitting on my bed.

"Erica, you've had enough fun."
