Chapter 2

As Kyle said, I received the express delivery, and it had to be a signature-certified delivery.

I received it now, which meant she had sent it long ago. She didn't care whether I receive it or not, her purpose was to piss me off.

Kyle, what you had done proved that all my efforts before were in vain.

The bridesmaids' dresses were made of low-quality fabric, the inner layer was thick and heavy, and the outer layer was light and transparent.

The skirt was an outdated layered style, a tacky gray-pink color, and looked dirty.

The skirt was covered in dust. When I wiped it, my fingers were covered in dust and were sticky.

"Don't want me to go? I have to go!" I grabbed the bag, washed my hands, and went out. I was going to the dry-cleaning room downstairs.

I took the elevator downstairs but forgot to bring an umbrella, so I had to go home. It was not a thunderstorm, it looked like it would last a long time.

I muttered, but I was thinking about how to change the style of the clothes.

My fake belly couldn't fit into such a thin dress.

The rain was getting heavier and heavier. The view outside through the transparent umbrella was hazy and beautiful, but I had no intention of appreciating it.

I quickly walked into the dry cleaners and put the bridesmaid dress on the counter. The owner was busy and greeted me, "Welcome."

"Hello," I smiled and said, "Can you modify clothes?"

The owner was stunned and smiled, "Yes, but that was my private job."

"So, you can do that?" I said and took out my phone. "This dress is dirty. It was sent to me as a bridesmaid dress. I want to wash it and make the waist bigger so that it can fit a big belly."

The owner was curious, "Changing a bridesmaid dress into a maternity dress?"

"Something like that." I nodded. Seeing the curiosity on her face, I was afraid of causing misunderstandings, so I explained, "We need it for our troupe's performance. The previous one was lost."

"Oh!" She responded, "50 dollars."

She didn't ask any further questions, which relieved me. I paid the money and left quickly.

The smell of the barbecue was so enticing that my mouth watered just from smelling it. Luckily, I hadn't eaten yet.

"Boss, grill me some meat and vegetables" I ordered, swallowed my saliva.

The waiting time was excruciating, so I had to play with my phone to kill time, and then I saw them.

Kyle and Alaric were walking hand in hand on the sidewalk.

This was one of the public rental housing units in Barton. It was a huge community. We were lucky enough to get a house as the three of us.

So, it was easy for us to meet, but I heard that they would move after they got married and they had already bought a house.

What did it have to do with me? I bit my lower lip and kept cursing them.

"Sir, it's ready! Do you want to take it out? " The owner called enthusiastically, and I returned to my senses and shook my head.

"I'll eat here." I smiled and put down my phone. Two things made me happy at that moment, one was the barbecue, and the other was the big belly was shipped.

Chapter 3

Three days later, the owner of the dry cleaner called me to pick up the clothes.

Coincidentally, the big belly was delivered, so I went to get them together.

I was in an inexplicably good mood. I hummed a song with my headphones on while I got the fake belly, then went to get the dress and went home.

The sun was shining, and I tried on the dress first when I got home.

The dress had a complete makeover, the dusty pink color seemed to have been washed off, and the waistline was moved up to the chest.

The dress was loose to wear, so I tried to stuff a fake belly into it. The belly was cleverly designed, and the cotton used was soft and stretchy.

The fake belly was not heavy, I could walk easily.

The fake belly was designed with Velcro and stuck tightly, so I didn't have to worry about it falling off when I walked.

I was ready and just waiting to go to their wedding.

As I expected, Kyle didn't really invite me to be a bridesmaid, and she never contacted me again in the next few days.

I held the invitation and looked for the address. The wedding was held in a villa by the sea, and I didn't know whether they rented or bought it.

In short, Alaric was very willing to spend money.

Let's see what kind of misunderstanding my appearance would cause.

Three days before their wedding, I went to the mall and bought maternity clothes, baby clothes, and toys.

I planned to give those things to them on their wedding day.

Sure enough, Kyle and Alaric seemed to have forgotten my existence. They assumed that I would not go to their wedding scene.

I insisted on going.

I went out to take a taxi, the sun was blinding. Sitting in the back seat, I took out my makeup kit and put on a sickly look.

"Well..."

I looked at the driver, who was a girl. She hesitated to speak, so I asked, "What's wrong?"

"Well, pregnant women should not wear makeup."

I looked at my belly, then at her, "It's okay, I bought makeup for pregnant women."

"Mrs., your belly is so big, where is your husband? Is he invisible? You are pregnant and it is inconvenient to go anywhere, and your family is not with you. This kind of man is bad. Divorce him after you give birth to the child. He has no sense of responsibility."

She said excitedly. I looked at her in confusion and then smiled awkwardly, "Actually, I'm not pregnant. I just want revenge."

"Revenge? Who bullied you?" She was driving slowly, and looking at the address I was going to, she said, "I understand, don't worry, I'll go with you!"

"Isn't this a bad idea?" I put on my makeup and looked haggard. I tried to stop her, but she was too enthusiastic.

She was on the phone, and she said, "Girls, do you want to know gossip?"

I smiled awkwardly and said, "Miss, you don't have to do so. I can handle it myself."

She ignored my words and asked, "Where is your mother?"

My mother? I should look serious. My mother was so angry with Kyle that she broke up with her best friend Haylee.

Their decades-long friendship was ruined because of the grudges between the younger generations.

Now, she should be traveling in Antocrest.

"My mother went on a trip," I said softly, with a touch of loneliness in my tone.

"Then you should take me with you. Girl, think about it. If you go alone and they beat you and scold you, wouldn't you be at a disadvantage facing people without morals?"

I pondered, agreed with her words, and nodded.

"Right? Think about it. Do you usually curse at people?"

I shook my head.

"Look, you are a high-quality talent. You can't argue with low-quality people."

I thought of Kyle. Every time she saw Alaric, her tone was sweet, which made me feel comfortable.

When we were still best friends, I asked her why she was acting cute towards Alaric.

She said frankly, "I have a project to test whether men have no resistance to sweet voices."

I was so foolish to believe her!

"You have been thinking for so long, haven't you suffered from your innocence?"

Being seen through by her, my face instantly turned red.

"You are not silly enough, and your face does not look miserable enough, I will put makeup on you again later!" The driver said proudly, and I was a little surprised.
