Chapter 2

Rachel’s face darkened completely.

“Why do you have to be so rude? I’m using my own body to get what I want. That’s my freedom! And people like you who are so stubborn will never have a decent life!”

Watching her lash out in embarrassment, I couldn’t help but laugh.

“Rachel, don’t dress it up like some noble cause. What you’re doing is no different from those women who sell themselves on the streets.”

She seemed oblivious to the insult in my words and instead puffed up with pride.

“I’m nothing like them! I’m offering ‘lucky charms,’ not just selling my body! These businessmen aren’t paying for a night with me. They’re paying to change their fortunes. I’m helping them climb the ladder of success. I’m doing a good deed!”

Listening to her ridiculous justification, I couldn’t hold back my laughter.

“If you’re so charitable, why charge a fee at all?”

Rachel’s voice caught in her throat, and with a huff, she slammed her latest designer bag onto the table.

“What do you know? That’s called a recovery fee! I’m constantly getting pregnant just to end it right away. Don’t I need to take care of my body and recover?! No wonder you can’t get a boyfriend. Talking to you is like talking to a wall!”

Her shouting had barely stopped when the dormitory door swung open.

Our roommate, Annette Cooper, stepped inside, her head low, glancing nervously at the tension-filled room.

Seeing Annette, Rachel’s eyes lit up, and she quickly moved to block her path.

“Sweetheart, I’ve heard you’ve been working part-time and studying hard. It must be exhausting, right?”

Annette was the least well-off of the three of us. Even her tuition was covered by student loans.

In my previous life, even though Annette had a boyfriend, she didn’t hesitate to join Rachel’s team. The two of them became inseparable, and before long, they were flaunting designer brands and exuding an air of sophistication.

But when Rachel’s unsavory activities were exposed due to an infectious disease, Annette immediately aligned herself with Rachel and turned all their accusations toward me!

Now, as Rachel’s straightforward question caught Annette off guard, she looked a little embarrassed.

“Yes, my family isn’t well-off. I can’t compare to you two.”

Rachel grabbed Annette’s hand and pulled her close in an overly familiar way.

“Then I’m sure there are plenty of classmates who look down on you. Gosh, it breaks my heart to see a beautiful girl like you, so pure and elegant, being treated poorly just because of money.”

With that, Rachel picked up the designer bag she had slammed onto the table earlier and shoved it into Annette’s hands.

“Us girls need at least one luxury item to earn respect. This bag is for you. You must take it.”

Annette gave a bitter smile, hurriedly trying to refuse.

“I really can’t accept it. You know I don’t have money to give anything in return.”

Hearing this, Rachel’s smile grew so wide her eyes nearly disappeared.

“You don’t need to repay me. But if you want to make money, I could give you a suggestion.”

Annette’s eyes lit up, and she eagerly asked for more details. But Rachel didn’t answer directly. Instead, her smile deepened.

“I’ll take you tonight. This part-time job is simple and pays well. People are lining up for the chance to do it, but not everyone gets the opportunity.”

After speaking, Rachel glanced at me, clearly not done. Noticing her look, Annette began sizing me up as well.

I wasn’t about to give Rachel another chance to spread rumors about me behind my back, so I cut straight to the point.

“Annette, she’s trying to get you to sell yourself.”

My abrupt words made Rachel’s face turn green.

“Clara, if you don’t understand, keep your mouth shut! Just because you lack ambition doesn’t mean you need to drag others down!

“I’ve already said this is about doing a good deed and accumulating virtue! Just because you come from a comfortable family doesn’t mean others shouldn’t have a chance to make money!”

Annette looked at the two of us in shock, frozen for a moment.

In the end, she hesitated but leaned slightly toward Rachel.

“Can you explain it in more detail? I really need to make some money.”

Chapter 3

Well, if Annette was tricked into joining Rachel’s schemes in my previous life, that might have been somewhat understandable.

But now, I had already warned her. If she still wanted to go through with it, so be it.

After all, from the moment I was reborn, I’d started recording everything on my phone. This time, even if they teamed up again, there was no way they could pin the blame on me.

Seeing Annette side with her, Rachel was overjoyed and, without any hesitation, began explaining the whole “lucky charm” scheme.

Annette’s face went pale as she listened, but the question she asked was:

“How much can you make from one… transfer?”

Rachel was so excited she could hardly contain herself, practically bursting into a little dance.

“Four thousand dollars! Do you have any idea? For students at an average college like us, we wouldn’t earn that much in a month even after graduating! But if we keep doing this throughout our four years of college, just imagine how much you could make!”

Annette bit her lip, her eyes sparkling with desire, as if she were already living the life of the wealthy.

Meanwhile, I was sitting on the side, trying not to laugh out loud.

Four years of college? That would mean going through twenty cycles of pregnancies and terminations. I wondered if their bodies would be able to handle it.

Faced with the allure of quick cash and luxury goods, the two of them didn’t bother to think about anything else.

In less than five minutes, they were completely aligned.

Once Annette was fully on board, Rachel started enthusiastically sharing her “tips.”

“Let me teach you a few positions that make it easier to get pregnant. First, you do this, and then…”

Annette’s face turned bright red as she listened, her wide eyes glistening with a mixture of embarrassment and fascination. She nodded absentmindedly, clearly overwhelmed.

After sharing her “tips,” Rachel told Annette to take a shower, saying she’d help her with makeup once she was back so they could head out for Annette’s debut as a “lucky charm.”

While they were busy, I used the downtime to post a question on the university’s online forum:

"Urgent! My roommate is selling herself and dragging another roommate into it. What should I do?"

The explosive post immediately attracted replies from curious students:

“Seriously? What century are we in? Spreading gross rumors about women? Sounds like some guy pretending to be a girl just to trash someone’s reputation.”

"You don’t have evidence. Better post some proof, or I’m reporting this for slander against the school."

"Typical trash post—no substance, just clickbait."

"Yeah, right. If you’ve got proof, show it. No way any self-respecting college student is dragging roommates into harlotry!"

When the timing was right, I uploaded a carefully edited audio clip as evidence.

Just as I finished, Annette returned to the room, looking flustered.

Rachel immediately grabbed her high-end makeup kit and started applying makeup on Annette, whispering as they worked.

“I’m still kind of scared,” Annette muttered. “I’ve never done anything like this before.”

Hearing her hesitation, Rachel slammed the makeup brush onto the table in frustration.

“What’s there to be scared of? You sleep with your boyfriend, don’t you? It’s the same thing. But the businessman is paying you four thousand dollars. What’s your boyfriend ever given you?

“Stop being so close-minded! It’s your body, and you have every right to decide how to use it!”

Annette suddenly stood up at the mention of her boyfriend.

“Actually… maybe I shouldn’t. I don’t want to betray him. Besides, if he asked where I was, I wouldn’t even know what to say…”

Rachel narrowed her eyes, her expression sharp as a knife.

“We’re aiming for big things here. You can’t back out just because of a little hurdle. If your boyfriend checks in, just tell him we were at the library studying. Not only will he believe you, but he’ll think you’re a dedicated student too. Stop hesitating. It’s almost time. We need to go!”

With that, Rachel grabbed Annette’s wrist and pulled her toward the door.

Watching their retreating figures, I couldn’t help but smile.

Rachel had no idea that her dear boyfriend was currently waiting downstairs outside the dorm, preparing to propose to her.

Not wanting to miss the show, I followed the two of them out, locking the dorm room door behind me.

When Rachel noticed me tagging along, her eyes darted around, and she deliberately raised her voice.

“Some people talk about being so virtuous, but deep down, they’re just jealous of our business. Clara, if you apologize to me now and bow sincerely a few times, I might still consider letting you join.”

I burst out laughing.

“Rachel, you barely got into college, and you’re already this skilled at pimping? Should I call you a genius or say you were born shameless?”

Rachel’s face turned an alarming shade of green and white in rapid succession before she whipped her head toward Annette.

“We’re off to do something truly noble, yet there’s this annoying fly buzzing around. Don’t you find it disgusting?”

Annette glanced at me with a glare.

“Clara, we’re in a hurry to do business. Stop interfering.”

Feigning confusion, I gasped dramatically.

“Oh? Business? You’ve managed to make selling yourselves sound so refined. Truly impressive!”

Rachel finally snapped, lunging at me in a fit of rage.

“Shut your mouth! Are you trying to let the whole world hear about this?!”

Smiling calmly at the furious Rachel, I replied, “Looks like you’re not as dumb as you seem after all.”

Under Rachel’s shove, I fell to the ground and immediately started crying out loudly,

“Help! My roommates, Rachel Young and Annette Cooper, are planning to sell themselves! I tried to stop them, but Rachel hit me!”

The girls in the nearby dorm rooms, who had been eavesdropping behind their doors for a while, seized the opportunity and rushed out.

“Rachel, are you out of your mind? Clara is trying to help you. How could you hit her?”

Seeing the hallway filled with people, Rachel was rendered speechless, standing in place, breathing heavily in frustration.

It seemed she still had some sense of right and wrong. She didn’t dare mention her sleazy business in front of everyone.

Instead, she glared at me with eyes full of fury and spat out a few threatening words.

“Clara, watch your mouth. My clients are big-shot businessmen. If you were to upset me, you’d regret it!”

With that, she grabbed Annette, who was cowering nearby like a frightened quail, and dragged her downstairs.

As they left, I ignored the bruise forming on my thigh and quickly motioned to the curious crowd to follow behind them.

By now, Rachel’s overly enthusiastic boyfriend had set up a proposal scene downstairs.

I couldn’t wait to see his reaction when he found out Rachel was on her way to become a "lucky charm."
