Chapter 2
I followed the man into his apartment.
I found that he kept a variety of fish as pets in his home.
A wall was lined with fish tanks of all sizes. The largest tank was so spacious that I could even crawl inside and sleep there.
He headed straight into the bathroom.
I jumped off him, not wanting to watch a strange man showering.
Moreover, his penis was quite deadly to female ghosts. Any inadvertent contact with it could result in the dispersal of my soul.
I walked around his apartment and found that he lived alone.
He seemed to be an orphan because there wasn't any family photo in his room. The pictures displayed were solely of him, from childhood to adulthood.
There was only one photo of the two people together.
However, the girl's face in the photo was crossed out, rendering it impossible to discern her appearance.
As I approached his computer desk, with the intention of touching the screen, he suddenly appeared behind me!
He coughed lightly, seemingly as a subtle reminder or possibly even deliberately.
I turned around and came face to face with him, his gaze locked onto me as he dried his wet hair with a towel.
A bold guess suddenly came to my mind!
To confirm the guess, I walked up to him and gave him a creepy smile.
Then, I extended my tongue and made my eyeballs protrude from their sockets!
I wanted to try if he really couldn't see me.
However, even though I made such a scary expression, he continued wiping his hair, walked straight through my soul, and sat down in front of his computer desk.
Could it be that he really couldn't see me?
There would be brief discomfort when a soul body was penetrated by a human.
As I couldn't possess him at that moment, I quickly floated to the largest fish tank in his house and lay down in it.
"So comfortable."
But I didn't know at that time that all this was not accidental.
I had a sound sleep that night.
After being a water ghost for so long, this was the first time I had enjoyed a good sleep.
Oddly enough, the size of this fish tank seemed to be custom-made for me.
I glanced at the clock on the wall. It was 7:30 in the morning.
I quickly climbed out of the fish tank and floated to the man's room to take a look.
Fortunately, he hadn't gone out yet.
But with such a scorching sun, I was afraid it would be difficult for me to follow him in the sun during the day.
After he washed up, he went into the kitchen and first fried eggs and then heated milk.
It only took him ten minutes to prepare a nutritious breakfast.
He seemed to have a healthy diet, suggesting that he cherished his life. However, it was unfortunate that he had offended me.
I sat in front of him the whole time, watching his every move.
He ate his breakfast leisurely, with the latest news playing on his phone.
"According to the latest news, a man found a female corpse while fishing at night near lake, a popular scenic spot in our city. The woman's identity remains uncertain, and the cause of death is bizarre. The case is currently under further investigation. Please stay tuned for more updates as the case unfolds."
The man clicked on the comments section of this news.
I leaned over to take a look, only to be shocked by what I saw!
The comments section was filled with judgmental and scolding remarks directed towards me.
Someone took a photo of my body.
Although my face appeared blurred, the pink strapless skirt I wore was very eye-catching.
[Look at the skirt this woman is wearing. She's not a good person!]
[It must be a murder of passion. There is no hatred without reason. An honest person couldn't afford it.]
Chapter 3
[She had a great body. What a shame. She could have been a presentable wife. Ha, ha, ha...]
Infuriated by the remarks, I slammed my ghost hands on the desk!
With a click, the glass on the desk was cracked under the force of my resentment.
Unaware of anything unusual, the man put away his phone, got up, and got an umbrella from the cabinet.
Umbrella? He was going to go out with an umbrella.
I quickly followed him and jumped directly onto his shoulders.
After walking out of the building, he unfurled the umbrella before walking into the sunlight.
I was secretly delighted. It was precisely what I had hoped for.
Dude, your death was approaching.
Along the way, he had been purposefully or inadvertently using the umbrella to shield my soul.
His destination was a software company!
"Mr. Gregory Sinclair, correct? Please come with me. Mr. Walker himself has arranged the office you will be working in," a receptionist took the initiative to welcome him.
It turned out that today was his first day working at the new company.
It was just that this company looked indescribably familiar.
"Where's Mr. Walker?" he asked.
"Mr. Walker is out on business. Do you need him for some reason?" the receptionist replied.
"Nothing. Go back to your affairs," said Gregory.
From the moment I entered this company alongside him, I felt uncomfortable all over.
Could it be that I had been here before I died?
Gregory began to tidy up his desk. He took out a pink glass from his bag and placed it on the desk.
As he looked at the glass on the desk, a smile flashed across his face.
But it soon disappeared.
Just as I was thinking about how to kill him, a voice suddenly sounded from behind me.
As soon as the voice rang out, my whole soul was trembling!
"You must be Mr. Sinclair, the new manager. Such panache," the person provocatively and unreasonably remarked, emanating a sweet and disgusting smell of perfume.
Gregory cast a downward gaze, briefly glancing in my direction. However, I didn't notice it as I was squatting under his desk with my head down.
I had no idea of what he was thinking.
"You are?" Gregory asked.
"I am Ryan Davis, the technical director of this company. Even Mr. Walker has to show me some respect."
"Ryan Davis," I muttered under my breath.
In an instant, it felt as if a hole had opened up in my mind, releasing a flood of fragmented memories that surged forth.
Ryan! It was him.
I remembered him. I knew this guy.
Within those memory fragments, I saw him harassing me many times, groping at me, and threatening me verbally.
If I was not mistaken, he had been my immediate superior when I was alive!
Now, I was not even afraid of ghosts, let alone a human being.
So, I flew out from under the desk, channeling all my resentment. I crashed into his forehead, causing him to feel dizzy and nearly spilling the coffee he held in his hand.
"What's going on? Where did this wind come from? Mr. Sinclair, did you feel it?"
Little did I know that Gregory was watching all my actions.
"No, Mr. Davis. I've got work to do. Talk to you later," said Gregory.
Holding his forehead, Ryan left Gregory's office in a daze.
As soon as he reached the door, Gregory added, "Take care, Mr. Davis."
He predicted that Ryan would be in trouble today.
I didn't quite understand Gregory. But I would never miss this opportunity for revenge. I had been a qualified water ghost over the years.
